This is my favorite kind of book. I really love holidays, I am a kid at heart and hope to make holidays special for my son. This book makes that possible. Each holiday has its own page. It is not too cluttered with just enough info and ideas for each holiday. Nothing overwhelming and has beautiful illustrations!

I think this book could become one of is my favorite books about holidays. It is formatted and written like a children’s book or an elementary resource book for the classroom. That said, as an adult it is great fun to look at with cute and vivid illustrations. The chapters focus on a specific holiday and are in calendar order. Each holiday chapter features an artist from the culture that celebrates the holiday. The artist shares what the holiday means to them and their families as well as a corresponding craft and recipe. The featured holidays spans many cultures, countries, and religions. It is beautifully done.
I am currently baking the banana bread from the chapter about International Women’s Day. It smells delicious.

Each holiday in this book is presented by a "contributor" who tells readers their name, what they do for work, where they live and/or where in the world they are from, and their favorite holiday. Each holiday also includes a recipe and an activity. I really enjoy the variety of celebrations included and that Gladwin is the editor but the information for each individual holiday is presented by someone who actually celebrates the holiday. Adding this title to my wishlist. Would be great for a classroom.

This colorful resource will be appealing to children of all ages!
Filled with vivid illustrations, this book features a wide variety of celebrations from around the globe written by a diverse group of contributors. Each holiday features a brief description of the holiday, an author bio, a recipe, and another activity--crafts, games, etc.
An excellent addition to any school or public library.
I borrowed this book from the local public library.

Perfect for the classroom. A great mentor text for a style of how to do a project on a holiday of each kiddos choice. Also a nice quick one page read for any of the holidays to keep them in the conversation! lots of AAPI rep :) yay.

Fairly mainstream holiday selections, but the interviews of creative types added a nice dimension.
