Honestly, as fast as Baker writes, I don't want to wait for the last one! I could've read this in a day if I didn't have other responsibilities. Can't wait to see what happens next!

I was eagerly awaiting this release, like the way you start drooling when you walk by Cinnabon and can smell that coma-inducing sugary dough goodness. I was ready for it as soon as I read the last line of Adrift! Well, Awoken did not disappoint. I had to read it in one day, just could not put it down! I love how Alora spends even more time in her dreams as her first self, AKA Sekhmet. So much Egyptian history and lore, and new characters from that time period. Alora is feisty and fierce no matter which world and time she is in, which lands her in all kinds of trouble. It’s hard to be the expected savior of the world, over and over. She didn’t ask for that title and doesn’t want the responsibility. She has a good heart and loves her brother, Jesse, with all she has. Every action she takes is to save him, but will it be enough? Will anything she does ever be enough? She is still confused on the boyfriend situation, in all the worlds, but the story is inching closer to explaining what is going on with the Exordium and why she is so drawn to a certain man who keeps showing up. The last line of Awoken is, “I’m guessing things are about to get really, really interesting.” There is a fourth book to come this fall and I am already flipping through the calendar to count the days!

I can’t find a worthy comparison this book is out of this world

This is book 3 in the series and most definitely not a standalone. If you have not read the first 2 stop reading this, go back and read them you will not regret it.

Bridget Baker has once more done something that seems impossible, she created not just one world but 5 in this book series and they are all well thought out and described in a way that you can imagine what they look like. But she doesn’t stop there her characters are out of this world, thought out, building throughout the series, with qualities that make them seem like real people. 5 stars just don’t seem enough to give but they are all well deserved. Not only has she created a book series that draws you in it is also one that doesn’t fade with each following book. Her research for background becomes apparent in the detail.

This book was amazing so many new things have come to light and so many challenges have been thrown at Alora. Her character is getting stronger and inheriting even more traits. On Terra she was the first women lifter, on Erra she was the first woman elemental and she wasn’t just an elemental to one of the elements but to all even though her greatest gift was being Fire-Called. On both worlds she has faced Kahn as well as John and somehow met Jesse. Now she is entering Rra the world of shifters. Will her form be the lion that she has met through her dreams in Ancient Egypt when she was Sehkmet? Will Kahn, John or Jesse be there with her, in none of her dreams so far has she encountered them in any other form as a human.

Alora is moving between Earth while awake and Ancient Egypt and Rra while she is asleep. How is she going to balance it all and the challenges that are coming with it. On Earth she is trying to find a balance between the people of Isis and Amun and the fact that millions of people now have powers they never had before. In Ancient Egypt she is learning more and more about who she is, who her father was, and what she doesn’t want to become. In Rra she is trying to understand what it means to live with Renders and Reapers and what consequences they might have.

If this isn’t enough then there is also the personal aspect. Jesse, the brother who has always been her anchor, is still fighting for his life because his soul is leaking. Kahn who still holds this great pull and the one thing she cannot figure out what does the sentence there has never been a world where we have been enemies mean. And lastly, we have John, she feels attracted to him and supported. Which of these man holds her heart in a way that it won’t break her?

I just read book 1 of this series 'Anchored' and was completely blown away. It was very fast-paced very exciting and kept me on my toes.
Allora is a girl who is living parallel lives on Earth and Terra. On earth, she is a terrified minor all alone in the world except for her dearest brother. On terra, she has a community she is raised in. A mostly happy childhood when suddenly it is revealed that she is an anomaly and she has to run and hide for her survival.
How her two worlds collide? How she improves her powers, the magic of everything all made for a very engaging read in 'Anchored'.

In the end of 'Anchored' things take a surprise turn. She pulls a 'Pet Sematary' to bring someone back from the dead. From then on , everything is just downhill.
Was a little surprised how it went from super exciting in part 1 to struggling to read through in Part 2.
There was also some severe lack of imagination like works are called Terra,Erra, Ra and A. What !!!
A bit too much , too many worlds brought in and none of them particularly exciting. Somewhere it lost the plot.
There are some series where Part 2 suddenly looses the plot but it comes back with a wonderful pace, characterization and so much more in subsequent parts.
Since I enjoyed Part 1 so much, I thought I would try and give part 3 a try.
I tried. I really tried. It simply did not have any element that could hold my interest. Was unable to proceed beyond 25%. Simply could not finish

Book 3 in The Anchored series, Awoken definitely pulled me in from page one and kept me on the edge of my seat the whole entire story. Alora continues to remember things from her previous life and I REALLY enjoyed the ancient Egypt chapters. As more and more is revealed, there are still unanswered questions that keep me excited to see how this series will ultimately end. In fact, the ending of this book has me counting down until book four, because I just NEED to know what is going to happen.
The love triangle with John and Kahn is heating up and I'm not going to lie, I'm totally team Kahn. Potential spoiler, but Alora’s dismissal of Kahn is a little irksome, but I have faith in the plot and that there is a lot more to come between those two and their relationship. I’m not sure how I feel about Alora at the end of book three, but the adventure is continuing and the tensions are high so I'm not giving up on her character yet.
This series has definitely been entertaining and is full of twists and turns. I received an advance reader copy of this novel. All thoughts and opinions are my own. This is a part of a series and will be best appreciated if you read the series in order. This is a clean read in terms of romance with some mild violence, though I would say nothing pushing it beyond PG/PG13 in content.

The Anchored Series continues to be interesting, thrilling and unique

I really enjoyed the continuation of the Anchored story that has gripped me from book one and found it hard to out down (when stupid real life intervened).
I applauded the writing style that showed the narrator being a different age in the first couple of chapters and you can tell the difference in the way it was written - the voice sounds different from chapter one to chapter two. Very clever.
I’m not sure if Rra is meant to sound like a lion roar, but I think that is kind of cool. I appreciate the different spelling from Ra the person.
I was also impressed that it seems quite consistent that they speak different languages (there is a main character who can’t speak English). I love how our MC has a good heart and intentions but is also clearly flawed. We feel with her the pain when accidentally hurting others – it feels very real.
As I am reading these months apart, I couldn't quite remember all details from the previous book. However, those of you reading this review could totally just binge read the whole series, surely, and I think that would be a better way to enjoy the series :)
I am very much looking forward to the conclusion (the fourth book: Capsized) and intend to read it as soon as it is available!

✨Prepare now for sheer BRILLIANCE!!

Warning: This is NOT a standalone read. To understand this story fully, you'll need to have read the previous two equally awesome books 😉.

I am a full and complete fan of this complex, rich, layered series!! The character development is beyond.....filled with multi layers/universes, extremely rich and complex, and just mind bogglingly genius in now its threaded together. Slowly more is revealed to.Alora through dreams and a few surprise visitors along her journey. Once again ancient Egyptian gods are at the center of the tale....but where do they stand now? We have a female.main character who has a huge heart, grit, determination, and the desire to.save those she loves as well as innocents. Is the full.truth revealed yet, or are they still.in the dark on some matters? All I know is this book.is full of adrenaline filled.moments, dueling prophecies, love , family , history, magic, and oh so much more! There's a major cliffy at the end that left.me all up in my feels!! This series grabbed be from the very first.moments and hasn't let go! I truly can't wait for the next in this glorious series!!!

If you love stargate, hunger games, and/or divergent, you are going to love this series.

If you haven't read the first 2 books in this series, STOP! go read them. Once you start, you won't be able to put them down. I finished book 2 Adrift and immediately started Awoken. I read about half the book before forcing myself to got to bed. At 3 am.

Bridget Baker has woven 5 different worlds together in an incredible way. Ancient Egypt, Alexander the Great, love triangles, sibling loyalty, and great character development, this series has it all! I think one of the things I love the most is Alora's refusal to be dictated the sexual attraction she feels. Most books and movies now days has young adults solely lead by their feelings. This is a refreshing way to have all the romance without taking away for the story. Also, seeing the characters grow pulls you in and makes you feel like you're a part of the story. I can't wait for the final book to come out.

This does a great job of building the tensions between the different factions and building the backstory in Egypt and ramping up Elora's frustrations and the pressures being placed on her by literally everyone in the world. I enjoyed it overall, but it felt a lot less polished than the first or second. There were times characters would have almost the exact same conversation multiple times, sometimes within a couple of chapters, acting as though they'd never discussed the topic before. There were a lot of repetitive things that I think would have been caught if it had better editing. I noticed that all four books came out in the same year, between April and November, and I don't know if all were written (or almost written) by the time the first one came out, but it feels a bit like this third book wasn't quite as well developed. I really want to know what happens, so I've already started Capsized, but I'm hoping it's a little better edited than this one.

I received an advance copy of this book for free in order to review it. All opinions are my own.

First, this book is most definitely a segment within a series. It does not stand alone well, so make sure you go back and start with book 1. I promise, it’s worth it!

If you’ve read the author’s Birthright series, you’ll notice there’s similarities in some details and descriptions. But it’s certainly not a case of a prescriptive writer just changing a few things and calling it s new book!

The world building and character development is great. I’m this book, we really feel our main character, Alora, going through some major moral dilemmas and difficulties. We find out more and more about her past and her dreamworlds that aren’t.

And we are left with new, bigger questions! I can’t wait to read the next one. I need some answers and to know if some of my hunches are correct!

This was a great novel, I was really glad to have been able to check this book out. This series with all the characters and story are all well thought out and so far your are getting answers to the questions you have, and some more are cropping up to be answered in the next novel. I am so interested in how the 4th and final book will uncover within the story.

The book Continues the journey of Alora with her life on Earth, Rra and even popping to A once in a while. Alora dreams more about her life in Ancient Egypt, she is getting answers to her questions, but they are still not getting down to what she is seeking to know. Jesse is getting weaker and Alora is questioning herself on what she would be like without him, and she doesn't like what her thinking is.

I do like this series. Not sure it’s quite a 4 star as I like some other series better. I am recommending it if you like this genre. Again, you have to work out some confusing world building. Alora shows us more of her special talents that “suddenly” she knows how to use. On Rra though, she apparently kills several folks while trying to figure out how to make them shift. The goal is saving brother Jesse from his leaking soul problem. She dreams of her life in Egypt more. She figures out how to go thru “door” to A at some point as well. I am on to book 4. Series is good enough to keep me going but glad I am on last book.

I enjoyed this story as an audiobook. This story is narrated by Jennifer Jill Araya. This story is part of the Anchored series and must be read in order. So if you haven’t seen my review for “Anchored” start there.

Alora is so strong even when it is tough. While she doesn’t make the best decision in every circumstance (especially when it comes to Jesse), you have to remember she is still a teenager and is doing the best she can. We see Alora in the next world and this one proves to be more challenging for her in many ways. I love that we get more in depth knowledge of Sekhmet and the life she lived.

I absolutely LOVE this series! Alora continues to remember more and more of her past as she figures out what it means to be the Warden of the prisons and if she should really free Ra. Will she sacrifice everything to save Jesse? Is Ra really a bad or good guy? SO MANY QUESTIONS. I especially loved the Egypt chapters. Oh, and the love triangle is still there and as messy as ever, which I love. Is there really never a world where her and Kahn are enemies? Is there an explanation for their deep connection?

Great, well-written third book! I could not put this down and finished it in a day! A unique plot continues as Alora discovers more about her past life. Never have I read anything like this book before, and I'd highly recommend especially if you're tired of the same plots! Awoken is full of mystery, great world-building, and suspense that will take you on an exhilarating adventure! This series just keeps getting better and better!

I have submitted this review after listening to the audiobook of this title within the series set box. (Audible)

The last two prisons are starting to unravel, but when .. continuously arrive in her animal form, then her old tricks of etching a message in her arm is offset by the shift back to human.
Her dreams about ancient Egypt progress slowly, but they are not showing her how 5he prison worlds were constructed.

This book is truly mind-blowing. Bridget never ceases to amaze me in her storytelling. What an epic continuation of this series. Alora continues to have to make hard decisions and has to decide where her motivations lie. Will she trust the people who are honest with her about what they think or those who tell her what she wants to hear?

Another one hit out of the park by Bridget E Baker. We get to experience Alora’s previous life a lot more and hear more of her history. Bridget E Baker does a great job in weaving in historical knowledge into her story and presenting it in a new light to fit her tale. I, for one, am anxiously awaiting book 4 which I do think is the final book of the series!

Ms Baker provides yet again and delivers another outstanding urban fantasy that is exciting, thrilling and emotional all at once. Combine that with such a rich plot and the different worlds, especially Ancient Egypt, make for a great story, a book that was difficult to put down. Im so looking forward to the next one.

The story is getting more and more difficult to get into.

In each book, there is a new power/ability that she just learns about and suddenly has that has never been mentioned before. She has always been overpowered, but come on? Living in Buckenham Palace, becoming the new royals?

Thank goodness there is only one book left it's getting to hard to read.

A wonderful action adventure with a twist straight from Egypt. The world developed for this series is very captivating. The characters are mixed in and out to keep you coming back to see what's next. I had a hard time putting it down.
I listed to audiobook and the narrator does a fantastic job of bringing everything to life.

Super easy and quick read. It felt like a lot of filler but not in a bad way. It was nice to get to know more about her other live as Rras daughter. There was a lot going on and one seen that I quite literally gasped. If you know you know. I can’t wait to see how this is all wrapped up after she made that major decision in the end.

This was a very unique teens series because of the story line which I really enjoyed. never read anything like it to-date. The fmc is young and immature but the supporting theme and characters offset that negative, but I also consider the likely intended audience. I listened on audiobook to the series and narrator did well on all characters.

tension

This story has a cliffhanger just like the last two, but I like how the story keeps going with out a lot of rehashing. There’s a lot of violence & bloodshed in this book (& in this series), but the storyline deals with relationships too, so that helps balance it out.

Fun continuation

I love how awesome it starts, just kicks right off from previous books and gives more insight. You really get to know more about each world as well as each person in them. Awoken is a fun read.

Enjoyed the first two books in this series, and also enjoyed reading this one. Three stars are basically given because this book did not advance the story line much and it seems this series could/should have been a trilogy. After reading the second book, I had a feeling this might be the case.
