My mom has a copy of this cookbook which she refuses to give to me. It is excellent, a great medium between the earlier and later editions. It has the classic recipes of the older editions combined with photographs of the later, and in addition it features great etiquette advice, much of which is dated but still fun to read.

If you're new to cooking and need to get a handle on staple recipes, this is the book for you. It includes explanations of various cuts of meat and what to do with them as well as advice on which spices to use with which kinds of foods and other introductory lessons. This would be the perfect gift for a bridal shower or a wedding.

I have the hardbound version, First Edition, Fourth Printing. Not the spiral-bound. This was my mother's go-to cookbook when we were kids.

A good cookbook with lots of recipes--my mom has two copies, one older and one newer. It is the most used cookbook in our house, as the stains on the pages attest to.

This was the book that my father had purchased for my mother right before she passed away in 1968 from cancer. As I grew up, I would take this book and remember good memories of her cooking meals for our family…Daddy passed away 6 months later. I chose this book to learn how to start cooking when I became a mother. So many good memories in this book along with good recipes. It definitely has been a keepsake for me thru the years, as it is currently 2022.

This was the stand-by cookbook for my mom when we were growing up. Many of our family's favorite recipes come from this book. My mom made sure that each of her children had a copy upon setting up their own home. I highly recommend it!

I love this book! It's a blast from the past filled with helpful hints on how to create a wonderful home. A real example of what was expected of women in the 1960's. Great old school recipes as well.

I use the cold-water cooking method for hard-boiled eggs, the oil-based biscuit recipe, and the cake recipes from here. I love it!
