E.D. Baker made her international debut in 2002 with The Frog Princess, which was a Texas Lone Star Reading List Book, A Book Sense Children's Pick, a Florida's Sunshine State Readers List pick & a 2006 Sasquatch Book Award nominee. The Frog Princess inspired the Disney's Princess and the Frog!

E. D. Baker was born in Buffalo, New York and spent most of the next eighteen years in the Town of Tonawanda with her older brother and her parents. She married her husband while in college, and had two children a few years after graduating from Allegheny College in Meadville, Pennsylvania with a bachelor’s degree in psychology. When her son was four, the family moved to the state of Maryland. With two young children at home, E.D. worked part time in her husband’s business and took writing classes at the local community college. She continued taking writing classes after the birth of her second daughter, but when she and her husband divorced, she went back to school and entered the SIMAT (School Immersion Masters in the Art of Teaching) program at Johns Hopkins University. After graduating, she taught fifth grade until her parents’ health began to fail. Her son had already graduated from college when E.D. and her daughters moved north to be closer to her parents. Having gained a new perspective on what is important in life, E.D. decided that it was time to believe in herself and devoted her time to writing. Her first book, The Frog Princess, was published in 2002. E.D. has written 25 books to date and has no plans to quite writing anytime soon.

Currently E. D. Baker lives on a small farm in Maryland where she and her family breed Appaloosa horses. They also have dogs, cats and goats.

It's great, fits for all ages I think. The stories are somewhere in between the classics of fairy tales and modern, totally remastered story. A nice reading for a good mood.

I'm not too far into this box set, still on the first book, but it is so cute.
This Princess is not your normal type for princess. She is clumsy and loves to spend her time in the swamp. In one of her days there to avoid spending the day with a snobby prince, she meets another prince who is a frog. She tries to convince her to kiss him, but she refuses. After the Princess discovers that she is to be married to this snobby Prince, she heads out to the swamp to talk to the Frog Prince. She tells him that she would rather kiss and marry him then the Snobby Princes. So she kisses him, but instead of him turning into a prince; she turns into a frog! Clever twist.
All three books are so darn cute and clever.

My sister checked the first one out from the library, thought it was boring, I finished all the books I checked out, was bored, so I started to read this one. I was about 7 so it took me a long time but I finally finished it and loved it. Then, I found out it was the first book I a Series! I instantly gobbled up the rest of them. This is a new take on the frog prince story. Quite funny and full of interesting twists. Her family is cursed with ugliness (if they touch flowers) and she is a witch who gets tangled up with a frog prince, her wicked and ugly grandmother of sorts and a dragon or two. This is a cute romance fairy tale that is quite charming to read. I recommend whole-heartedly and since I checked them out at the library I intend to buy them!

This is a terrific, light, humorous story full of fairies and magic. I loved following the story as it progressed. I was hooked immediately and have read all the sequels and will soon go out and get the Salamander sequel I am sure. A great story.
