The description is not for this book. This should be fixed.
This would have been 5 stars but a few things bugged me...
First, I thought the Mary relationship was unnecessary and took away from Katie & Derry's.
Second, the Caitlyn/Katie thing. Is she or isn't she? That was not clear.

The Ghost and Katie Coyle

Katie accepted a job at East Bay with a house to live in. She kept feeling a presence but not seeing anyone not knowing a ghost was living in the woods. Finally meeting the ghost they became friends. The only time he could be seen was by some stones that were copied from the stones in Ireland. Alistair Proser was trying to get a Clancy Grant but so was Katie. Derry the ghost was thought to be his brother that took his place on a ship for prisoners that crashed and had no survivors. Alistair wrote false information about the whole thing. Katie did a lot of research with help from her sister and her boyfriend Patrick that were in Ireland. Alistair found out Katie was getting information so took a gun to her. She ran to the stones and Derry fought with him. Katie got shot in the leg and Derry in the shoulder which brought him back to life. Alistair was arrested. Katie and Patrick won the Clancy Grant. Katie and her sister are now having a double wedding.

Very good story, thank you Anne Kelleher!

I really enjoyed this time travel/earth power/love story, it was 5 stars for me. The characters were really fun, and the stone house was exciting with extra Irish history.

Such a charming story! I loved it since it had all a reader could ask for: a sweet romance, a handsome hero, a villain, a ghost and suspense - the perfect book for cuddling up on a cold evening in winter!

Enjoyable story. Few loose ends.

Second time I've read this story.
Enjoyed it thoroughly.
Only one question what happened to her boyfriend from chapter 1. Wouldn't she say goodbye if they dated for 3 years. And how does her Irish guy get his passport and identity. How can he fly to Ireland for a presentation and get back if he has no identity. It would have been great if he enters his old home and she sees a portrait of him. Also what happened to Caitlin. Doesn't he want to know his kid lived.

Too many holes in the plot.

The premise for this story was really intriguing. Unfortunately, the delivery was riddled with inconsistencies and too many holes in the plot. The author spent too much time discussing irrelevant details and then completely skipped over anything that would be prudent to the development of the characters. The entire scenario with the “villain” was convoluted and just got more ridiculous as the story reached its climax. The ending felt rushed with lots of loose ends needing to be tied up. A disappointing read overall.

A very enjoyable read over 20 chapters with each chapter just the right length.

It was amazing reading how someone presumed dead for 20o years after a shipwreck could come back to life, but I suppose her wasn't really dead at all just trapped in an energy field.
The finale had a very happy ending for the respectable Earl, who 200 years ago did an unselfish act to save the life of his brother and his family.

The Ghost and Katie Coyle: a time travel romance By Anne Kelleher

Five stars, haven't read a book like this in a while...It's worth the wait..Excellent storyline, good rounded characters..Katie and Derry was meant to be together..Sensually as him being a ghost, and her fighting for him on her way..Family connection with the her friends brought this book around to a really good ending.

A very good story. It has a strong and determined young woman in Katie and a handsome man in Derry even though he is more a ghost than a man. All the characters are well drawn out and I could relate to them, and the locality is well described. I liked the story and highly recommend the book. This is the second book from this author that I have read and will continue with the others available on Kindle.

This was an easy enough read. But there are things about Derry that bothered me.

*SPOILERS*

It's never revealed if he was buried or not, or what was done with his body or the others who died in the shipwreck. His hands were chained. How were the chains removed?

He seems a bit of a man-whore, having seduced the 16 year old Mary. He shows little regard for her feelings, casually discussing his love for Katie.

Really Fantastic

With each few pages the Story Grows on You, the Characters become more real.. more like real people. The Warmth of the characters blend so well with the story....Kept me going, some.Nasty Guy or two but most all blended to give you Laughs, Warmth and true caring in all the people.. Just enough sexy to heat you up.. Most of all IT WAS A GREAT STORY LINE. READ YOU WILL ENJOY VERY MUCH.. LOOK FORWARD TO READING MORE BY THE AUTHOR..👏🏻👏🏻💗

I really liked this book until the end. The whole book was based on how the ghost was searching to find out what happend to his old lover and the baby. Half way through the book it took a turn. He all of a sudden didn't care? Also how did he turn human? Very confusing ending. I was very disappointed on how it ended. Author seemed to rush the ending. Should have been detailed and carried out just like the first half.

The plotline was SO interesting but I felt like her writing failed the story. The Mary character was incredibly annoying and it's like she was written as a helpful character but really all she did was interfere with the romance and push them apart. It felt like the same things were said over and over and the story lagged in the last third. Lots of loose ends, like her boyfriend and his lover and child. Also I absolutely HATE the "guy is an asshole to protect her" trope.

It's a simple, not too deep story. In places, I would love a bit more but only because the author teased them. You knew who the players were and mostly saw their direction. There are a few places or details that stepped out of predicted paths. Heat level is around the middle, a few editing misses, no warnings. Enjoy.

Wonderful fantasy fiction

This book is for all lovers of romance and fantasy... well written and well developed lovely characters. I read it in a day couldn’t put it down. I’ll miss Derry, Katie always hard to finish a really good book. I’ll think I’ll buy it in paper to have in my personal library.

Intelligent romantic Read

Like the fact that the Heroine Was an intelligent scholar
The story line was well laid out, with the research inserted and tracking down leads
I thought the setting was good, the professors interesting, and the House with the words around it had a delightful ambience, I would read other works by this author And recommend this read to my friends

I loved it!

A well written story of fantasy, love, and mystery. It reminded me of the old Ghost And Mrs Muir, maybe for a reason. Characters were well developed, likeable and not so much. I've told my friend to read this also. Now, what was the title of her other book?

Derry and Katie

I like time travel books. I loved the descriptions of Pond Cottage. I know there are good and bad teachers out there, but it made me feel bad that one turned violent. Happy endings are the best!

2.5 stars.

The first part of the book was fair the last half bogged down somewhat. It seemed predictable and not a lot of depth in the characters.
I also thought it was way too pricey. I cannot recommend it and wish I had my money back.

All the elements

This book had all the elements, mystery, Romance, and time travel. I liked Derry and Katie's story very much for that reason. In places, it was bittersweet and I would highly recommend it.

Wonderful story

Great read. If you like time travel romance you must read this one, it is time travel romance with a twist from the normal stories out the. Something I think is the norm for this author. Loving her books!

Very light

Very light fast read. Not a ton of drama and certainly nothing too horrific. I would have liked to have seen more drama but that's just personal preference. It was a super fast light one that I don't regret reading.

A lovely story about the triumph of love.

I truly loved this story. It moved quickly and came to an unexpected conclusion. It truly needs to have a sequel or two. .
