Second Once In A Life Time Love

Its Tom's wedding day to his soon to be husband. As they are flying there he's reminiscing about his former husband that he lost. It was bitter sweet that's for sure but so good. We get look at both Steve and Tom before his death and also Bill and Tom now. I loved Sarah, Tom's niece she was adorable and the toast she made was cute. I found this a month or so ago and it was part of a bind up but now is a single.

Tom and Bill are flying to Baltimore to their wedding. Bill is beyond happy and is with the man he loves, but he's nervous and feels like he's forgotten to do something. When Tom relaxes on the flight and lets his mind wander, it travels to the past which he hasn't thought of in a while, "pushed aside first by grief and then by love and the return of love." He moves through his memories of another man, of another love, while on the way to declaring his love for his partner.

This is a touching and deeply moving story about past love and having to let go before you can take the next step forward. Tom has been lucky in his life to have two chances as "once-in-a-lifetime love". His first love was Steve, and this story moves back and forth between Tom traveling with Bill to their wedding and thoughts of his time with Steve. Tom is lucky to have found Bill, a man who understands about the past. Steve is Tom's past, but Bill is Tom's future, and the process he goes through of saying goodbye to his past love is rife with emotional intensity. This is a rather simple plot and the author doesn't weigh down the story with elaborate descriptions and raunchy sex. Instead he lets the power of the story stand on its own and it shines with it's simplicity. The ending is treated to the slightly overly sappy goodbye that was a bit expected, but it didn't diminish my enjoyment of the story. I really enjoyed the character of Tom and the seamless transitions between the present and the future, telling the tale of two loves and a man who is holding onto his future and letting go of his past. I definitely recommend this story for anyone looking for a sweetly romantic tale that shows how happiness can help to replace the sadness of the past so one can let go, and move on.

After reading this I realized it was the wedding day of Tom and Bill from the book Master of Reveals and the Series Bottled Up. I have to say I sat there and cried all over again. This is a sweet and poignant story featuring 2 of my favorite characters from this series. Andrew Grey as always brings a special touch to this book as he does all of his stories. When you read a Grey book you know it will be good.
