What Nat tries to do in this second Nat Enough graphic is to forget her crush on Derek. The dance she invited Derek to is a double disaster. First Derek declines her invitation and then a wounded Zoe makes a song request from Natalie to Derek doubling down on the embarrassment. How do you get over a broken heart? Natalie has lots of tips and shows us the way to a healthier self-image. Her dog and cat are along for the ride and there is an entertaining student election in the mix, too. Oh, and so is her magic mirror. So much colorful fun with large panels depicting Natalie and her classmates in their day-to-day experiences. The yearbook autograph page especially made me smile -- reminded me of my school days. I hope Natalie has many more books in our future.

The entire series is now complete. For now. Surprisingly, I read the series out of order, first the third one, then the fourth, then the first and now the second one. I haven't read from this author for a while but I know she writes enjoyable books. When I closed the final page of Forget Me Nat, it was delightful, but flawed.
It starts (more like continues) with the first person I see, Nat, recounting her life at her school after the events of Nat Enough. Nat believes Derek has a crush on her until a revelation hits her: Derek likes Nat, but only as a friend. The rest of Forget Me Nat revolves around Nat attempting to regain her self-confidence after that event. I spend so much time on her character development it grew stale. Forget Me Nat is around the same length as the other three instalments but it feels much longer. At least I could like the characters but I disconnected myself from them. The conclusion is heartwarming, finishing the fictional composition on a high note.

I will buy this and it will be fairly popular in my library, but I’m not a big fan. Why are all the most popular kids white? Why are there no kids who are exploring crushes with someone of the same gender? I like how Nat learns to not completely subsume her personality to match her crush and his interests. Good lesson in here about falling for yourself first and foremost and remembering your friendships. Kids will like this, but it’s not as strong as many other graphic novel series.
Realistic depiction of what it's like to have an all-consuming crush.
However, I didn't appreciate the stereotypical (that is to say, not without some truth) ways different cliques were portrayed. Anyone who wasn't "cool" was some kind of dork. All of the "cool" kids were white. In fact, all the kids who ran for class president were white. And the kid who barks? Well, I had a kid with Tourette's last year who barked, so that one fell TOTALLY flat for me. Not a book I'll put in my class library.
Loved the book! The only issue I take with this book is that there is NO WAY middle school students would vote for a kind class president when there was a candidate who could get an ice cream machine. I have made this right in my head (because I would have thought about it a LOT!) by realizing that Flo would make it happen after multiple students suggested it in her suggestion box! Phew! Now I can sleep tonight. Ha! I really love these middle grade graphic novels about friendship and self-confidence.
This is a cute companion to the first book in the series, as it follows Nat and her friends through a class election, as well as Nat getting a crush, and having it, well crushed.
And through it all, it is about friendship, which is so important to middle school kids. Very quick read, and a bit repetitive, but in a funny way.
Because, boys (and girls) come and go but true friends stick around, no matter what.
It's so much fun to revisit Natalie as she navigates her first Big Crush and the misery that is the "Friend Zone." I love seeing Nat and her friends evolve and gain a little (but not too much) maturity. A sweet, gentle sequel with a life lesson for the ages: Sisters before Misters!
I love the first book and the 2 book is great as well. It's about Nat's crush and more people have crushes now too. She gets another friend called Flo. In all, I think it's a great book.
I liked the first one more, but this was still a really cute graphic novel with a message. It definitely captured the all consuming obsession of a first crush. Flo is great.
This was a great book about developing self-confidence, picking yourself up when you’re down, and being a good friend. You cringe and smile along with Natalie and her friends. I would love to read more about Natalie, Zoe, and Flo’s lives.
Oh wow! 🤩 This book is one of those books you could read again and again forever and not get tired! I like the attention to detail in the drawings and the fact this is so RELATABLE!!!!! 🤗 This book makes you feel like how Natalie is feeling! I am a fan! ❤️
