Megan Berry?Zombie Settler extraordinaire?just wants Pom Squad to trounce Cheer Team in this freakishly funny follow-up to You Are So Undead to Me. But someone?s turning coma victims into settler-resistant über-zombies?and everyone thinks it?s Megan?s fault! Well, except for super-creepy male cheerleader Aaron. (Ew!) Meg?s also being stalked by a hot?albeit undead? seer named Cliff. Can Cliff?s premonitions help Megan stop a zombies-on-ice deathscapade and discover who?s really behind the coma-killer crusade before an entire army of undead rise up? And when Megan?s boyfriend Ethan grows jealous of Cliff, will it end their intra-settler romance? Stacey Jay?s snarky teen-speak is ?dead?-on and hysterical! Ally Carter better get used to the smell of grave dirt . . .
Stacey Jay is a recovering workaholic (or at least working hard at recovering) with three pen names, two small children, and a passion for playing pretend for a living. She’s been a full time mom-writer since 2005 and can't think of anything she'd rather be doing. Her former careers include theatre performer, professional dancer, poorly paid C-movie actress, bartender, waiter, math tutor (for real) and yoga instructor.
This was the second book in the series and in this one Megan is up against much more powerful zombies. Besides the zombies being more powerful, the settlers think Megan may be the one raising them. This book also introduced us to Cliff, a zombie who becomes Megan's friend and possible love interest. I have to admit that this was strange especially as she was supposed to be all for Ethan. Overall, this one was just not as good as the first book. This is a young adult book but Megan seemed to be more whiny than she was in the first one. The ending did leave a good set up for the next book but I don't know if I will be reading more. I'll be honest that there was a comment about teachers that left a bad taste in my mouth. It also may be the time of year that I am reading this book. If I read it at another time I may feel differently. I still really like this author but this book was just not as good as her other books.
A lot of things happen in this book. Relationships are questioned, innocent characters are being blamed for crimes, family secrets are let out in the open, and zombies' butts are kicked! Undead Much carries on with Megan's story--her problems, her relationships, and her zombies.
The romance was probably the thing I liked most from this book. I'm a sucker for romance. In this novel, Ethan and Megan are undergoing a lot of difficulties in their relationship. For starters, the pressure of taking their relationship to the "next level" is starting to weigh down on Megan's shoulders, and she can't help but second guessing herself and their relationship all together. And then there's Cliff, the dead zombie who can't seem to be put to rest. He's a problem all on his own, making Megan think things she shouldn't be thinking about non-boyfriends.
While the rest of the novel was up to standards, at the beginnning I was worried about the novel's pace. It was really slow. But as I got deeper into the story it sped up and made my reading experience a whole lot more pleasurable.
Undead Much kicks zombie butt! Readers who were blown away with the first one will love this one just as much, if not more. So many things are in store for Megan and the Settlers.
Just as fun and fantastic as the first, Undead Much is a bit more darker, more edge and it's exactly what it needed to bring it up a notch and add more excitement. I still found the humor and wit that I loved in the first book but the twist in this one was awesome and so I thought this was even better then the first! A wonderful lighthearted and highly entertaining series that brings on the joy of reading paranormal escape. I'm looking forward to reading more from this world! Bring on the Berry!!
Okay, so I knew I'd enjoy this book, and I really, really did. Ethan was in it, of course, and I love him to bits. Plus, there was added drama to the relationship which is always good. I don't like relationships where everything is smooth and perfect, because how unrealistic is that?
The story starts with a visit from an Unsettled zombie just when Ethan and Megan are getting kinda steamy. This unsettled is called Cliff, and he's different to the others. In the sense that he doesn't look dead, smell dead, or speak like he's dead. When he keeps turning up just when Megan needs a friend the most, the two begin to bond and there's a pull that Megan can't ignore, even when she knows she should. I both loved and hated this particular subplot. I liked that Megan was finally getting a friend, but Cliff actually pretty much creeped me out. Guess thats what the word zombie does for you! And it also was a factor coming between Megan and Ethan. So you have to hate it really!
Then we have the actual plot. Zombies are being raised to attack Megan, but they're a different kind of zombie altogether - one the normal Settler mojo doesn't really work on. The Enforcers suspect Megan of being the one to raise them, and the attacks are simply because another Settler has sent them back to their maker. But Megan swears by her innocence, even though she knows she has power she can't control. I loved that Megan became public enemy number one. She crumbed under the pressure, and that coupled with finding out some family secrets was enough to send her spiralling down. I love when characters are realistically flawed.
All in all, I really enjoyed this book. I love that though it was set in high school, other locations played a part more than the highschool classrooms. It showed Megan's struggle to still have a normal life while all of this was happening, even though the two kept colliding. And of course, there's always the problem with an old enemy.
Undead Much was just as funny, sassy, and unpredictable as it's predecessor!
I love Jay's take on Zombies it's much different than the normal mindless brain eating beings that you usually associate with the word Zombie.... although there are that type of Zombie in this book too! But Megan's job is to help the "undead" with unfinished business so that they can spend their slumber of death in peace.... well most of the time, unless someone decides to turn them into those brain eating Zombies... but you can read more about that in the book!
I wasn't sure what to expect with this novel, You Are so Undead to Me, wrapped up pretty nicely, so I had no idea what the sequel had in store. That being said, this is definitely a series that you will want to read in order to fully appreciate the sequel.
Undead Much felt much more like it was part of a series than You Are so Undead to Me Did. There are many more unanswered questions! And I can't really say without being spoilery, but wow! I was sitting on the edge of my seat, I couldn't turn the pages fast enough... awesome mystery and suspense play! The ending for this one left me salivating for me... must be that zombie tendency after reading all that zombie-ness!
All of my favorite characters were present and then my most favorite of all was introduced.. Cliff! Can't wait to see more of his undead cuteness in the rest of the series!
This is a great zombie novel for the apprehensive zombie reader.. not high on the gore-o-meter, great story, suspense, mystery and romance.... sounds fantastic to me!
My Thoughts: So, after I finished You Are So Undead To Me, I was hoping Undead Much would be just as good as the first one. It was and so much better! Once again, we are introduced into the world Of Megan and her zombie settling! In this book, more magic goes down and everyone is blaming Megan. Could she really do this? Or is she innocent? Joined by Ethan she has to figure out the truth behind her past. Why didn't her parents tell her all the secrets about their family history? Can she even trust her parents? Why did they lie to her all these years? We also meet Cliff. He's a new friend of Megan's but he's a zombie! I felt a little guilty because part of me liked that Megan was hanging out with him, even though I still really like Ethan. You can tell Cliff has feelings for her but than there is Ethan, her amazing and gorgeous boyfriend. I loved this book as much as the first one and I wanted to keep reading even when the book was over. Such a cliffhanger at the end, I really hope there's another book coming out soon. What happens to Megan, does she break up with Ethan for Cliff? What are her family secrets? Did she do the crime everyone is accusing her off? If you like zombie books and even if you don't, pick this one up now!
Overall: Loved it. This is one of my new favorite series! I adore Ethan, and even find myself swooning over Cliff a little bit.
Cover: Love the cover! To me, its gorgeous! Love the way their arms are overlapped and even their clothes are gorgeous!
ARGH!!!! Damn it anyhow. I really wanted to love Undead Much as much as the first book. Undead Much did not have the same exciting pace as book one. Things moved so slowly in Undead Much, that I often found myself getting bored. It took for too long for the suspense to build up. I found myself putting the book down quite a bit.
I also found myself getting very annoyed with Megan. She keeps whining about how evil Monica is even when she is going out of her way to be nice. I did like the introduction of the new male character. It adds a lot of conflict to her relationship with Ethan.
The zombies were creepy and exciting as always, but we pretty much have the same villain as the first book. I wanted to see something different this time around. A new plot line doesn't develop until close to the end of the book. You can tell that the next book is going to follow a very different path and I'm anxious to see where the story goes. Even though I had some issue with Undead Much I am glad that I read it. I will definitely be reading book three to see where the story goes. More zombies and less Megan whining about Monica please.
Bottom Line – Stacey Jay has created a series that is smart, sassy, silly, and totally fun. Though Undead Much? is darker than You Are So Undead To Me, it still held onto those endearing qualities. It’s complete with amazing characters, and an excellent plot that leaves you wanting MORE and MORE…never wanting to put it down. I give Undead Much? A 5 mushroom rating…and I can’t WAIT for the next book!
Another funny, awesome book! We learn about why Megan is more powerful, which is really great, and romance problems, which was not! But there's the valentine's story, which I need to read!
Megan's life is almost back to normal, as normal as a freaky-strong Settler's life can be. She's spending time with Ethan, a little freaked about how strong her feelings are. Then Cliff an undead...person, appears and all hell breaks loose. Literally. Megan is being hunted by super-strong zombies who are extremely hard to kill and they all seem to be focused on her. The Council seems to think Megan's the one raising the extra-strong zombies and Cliff is not helping.
No matter what happens, Megan is unprepared for the big fallout waiting for her. Or the culprit and the threat to her life and the whole Settler community.

Q: How many guys does it take to make your boyfriend wild with jealousy? A: Only one, if he's UNDEAD.
Megan Berry had a perfectly average new-sundress-and-boy-obsessed life — until her power to settle the Undead returned. Oh, and then her best friend tried to kill her — and ruin homecoming — with a bunch of black magically raised zombies. At least she got a spot on the pom squad and a smokin' boyfriend (Ethan). But now Megan is in deep fertilizer all over again. Why? Well, let's see... Feral new super-strong zombies? Check. Cheerleader vs. pom squad turf war threatening half time as they know it? Check. An Undead psychic hottie (Cliff) who's predicting a zombie apocalypse — and doing his best to tempt Megan away from Ethan? Yum. I mean, Check. Earth-shattering secrets that could land Megan in Settler prison for life? Um... It wasn't me!!! Everyone thinks Megan's at fault for the new uber-zombie uprising. Looks like she'll need the help of both Cliff and Ethan if she's going to prove her innocence before it's too late. What Stephanie Thinks: Vampires and werewolves are overrated in the Young Adult paranormal scene, so it was really refreshing to be able to read a novel about, not only zombies, but zombie slayers, in Undead Much?. The second installment in Megan Berry's dedicated, dangerous, and literally deadly misadventures is one you don't want to miss. Both Jay's easy, entertaining voice, and the multiple dilemmas Megan faces in the life she could only dream was normal, will appeal to all lovers of the genre.
First and foremost, I find this an excellent example of paranormal for teens. Megan is totally kick-ass and gets her job done right — though the Zombie Settler council suspects of her of dark magic that she isn't even channelling — but she also remains reserved about it — adolescent maturity at its highest — and has the exact same problems most non-Settler teenage girls have in their lives. As a Settler, her job is to use her powers to return the raised dead back to their graves and seal them in forever. However, she isn't just another Settler; she's one with massive powers that could, if used for the wrong purposes, destroy both her, and the entire magical community as well.
Recently however, her powers have been ineffective in Settling zombies — and they've even failed her a few times during zombie attacks. With powers as immense as hers, she used to be unbeatable, but now, she's a bit disappointed. The worst part is that the Council, the authority, thinks SHE'S the one resurrecting the freakishly strong zombies. She needs to prove her innocence, as well as explain why she, the only one with enough power to even do such a thing, is the one who's in the most danger of all.
This book is also a romance, one I think teenagers will swoon over. The love triangle created between her, her extremely hot and understanding boyfriend, Ethan, and a cute but mysteriously human-like zombie, Cliff, is very pure in relationship terms, yet the tensions sizzle on each page. Megan struggles with regular girl problems — such as dealing with the discomfort of going to second base — and these, alongside her mission to prove the Council wrong, as well as embark on an unwelcome path to discover her own identity, makes Undead Much? an engrossing and, for me, addicting read.
My only complaint is sometimes Megan's problems seem really trivial; she makes mountains out of molehills often. Perhaps Jay was just trying to convey Meg's personality in that way, but it's hard to sympathize with a protagonist and narrator who nags and acts like a four-year-old sometimes. Other than that, I think Undead Much? is a highly successful novel that dignifies and embraces the Young Adult genre by incorporating adventurous, romantic, and moral anecdotes to satisfy readers in every way. I definitely am looking forward to the sequel.
Stephanie Loves: "'I don't want you to ruin your chances to do something you love.'"
Radical Rating: 8 hearts-Would recommend to lots of really good friends.
I'm not into zombie novels. I tried but I just couldn't get into it, but this is an exception, the heroine and her cohorts are alive human being extraordinaire. They call themselves as Settlers, they are highly trained gifted individuals that fulfill the last wishes of the newly dead raised as zombies. before their spirits can actually put to rest. They also kill zombie rouges who feed on human flesh that are raised by witches who uses dark magic to sic their enemies.
The plot was interesting, it was one of those unputdownable books. In their sort-of-normal lives Megan is simply a member of the pom squad led by her former ach nemesis and fellow Settler Monica. battling the high school basketball's half time perfomance slot with their school's cheering squad. The zombie situation was... there was a person raising undead zombies using coma patients at the nearby hospital. Since Megan is portrayed as this Super-Settler the organization immediately suspect that she is the one responsible for raising them. Her gift and power have a capability of perfoming such dark magic. She surely did not know that, thus her plead to being not guilty. But nobody seems to believe her but Monica and Ethan. To get matters worst she got a Unsettled, named Cliff that keeps coming back from the grave and later on became a nuisance with her relationship with Ethan (her hot Settler 19 year old noyfriend). Don't get me wrong the dude was nice, sweet and totally harmless and he has proven to be an ally but he was also her weakness in this stressful situation (on the romance department). It does not also help that Megan's parents are keeping a secret from her.
Undead Much?... is an exciting book full of heroic deeds and confusing twist (I write that as an endearment). I like Megan, she's strong (mentally, physically and emotionally), beautiful and does a great job being a Settler. I like Ethan too he proved to be a good boyfriend and an excellent ally. There were moments that I like the love triangle but there were times that I wished Megan could have just felt differently towards Cliff, he is a zombie, after all. Sure he wasn't rotting... yet, but it still grossed me out. The last part of the battle was gory and definitely had black magic written all over it, this just proves that the next novel will be darker and more dangerous. The book hasn't even been released yet but I'm already looking forward on reading book 3.
I'm not sure that there are any zombie books out there that are quite like Stacey Jay's. I never really thought that zombies could be both fun and horrifying at the same time, but Jay somehow pulls it off! I also never thought I'd join the zombie craze, but I did - and it is definitely because of YOU ARE SO UNDEAD TO ME and UNDEAD MUCH?!
UNDEAD MUCH is the sequel to the above mentioned novel, and you really do need to read the first installment to fully appreciated the second book, in my opinion. I think that, for the most part, readers will still be able to figure out what is going on, but they won't really connect with the characters as well or fully understand their motivations, thoughts, etc. I wouldn't have been nearly as torn about the "undead psychic hottie" and Megan if I hadn't read the first book, which developed Megan and Ethan's relationship.
As with YOU ARE SO UNDEAD TO ME, this novel is full of zombies, action, and a hint of mystery. Jay balances Megan's normal everyday teenage life with that of supernatural zombie settler like it's a piece of cake, which makes her novels more appealing to those reluctant zombie novel readers, like me.
The romance in these books is really well written. I like that Jay leaves some tension between the characters. In the first novel it was almost unbearable - I wanted Ethan and Megan to be together so badly; they were just so fun to read. I was afraid, however, that the second novel wouldn't be quite as fun, but I was wrong. Jay mixed it up and she doesn't rush the characters into anything, which I really appreciate. Plus, it is kind of hard to have a relationship when you are fighting off undead that are out to kill you. Or so I imagine.
UNDEAD MUCH? was an amazing second novel to Megan's story and left me wanting MORE! Jay wrapped up the story, but left so many loose ends and I need to know what happens next. She succeeded in wrapping up the story while simultaneously leaving the reader with questions about just about every aspect of Megan's life. I highly recommend both of Jay's novels, but be warned: once you start, you won't want to stop. Then you can come sit with me and wait the unbearably long months to read what happens next! :)
I enjoyed You Are So Undead to Me so much that I had to buy the next book. What made me love the prequel was its relatively cute and charming ways. The fact that it didn’t take itself so seriously made it all much more appealing to me. Undead Much went on a whole different route than what I was expecting. I was dandy the first few chapters. Had some laughs, some giggles, some swooning, a few fist-pumps, but then the zombies started appearing…
When I read a good book I find that I’m influenced by them. If they’re happy, I’m happy. If they’re sad, I’m sad. On the other hand a dull and not-so-great book is a reflection of my current state of emotions. I found myself yawning countless times (at 6 in the evening!) and finding my eyes glazing over passages on auto-pilot. That might give a general gist of how I felt about Undead Much.
Undead Much packs a lot. Relationship issues—both family and romantically—are questioned, new powers are discovered, new villains are uncovered. I was invigorated to dive in, drink like a zombie and be quenched, alas my mood swung the opposite way. I found myself irritated by almost every dialogue throughout the book. Imagine this scenario: A: Hey guess what I found out! B: I don’t know, what? A: Com’ on! You HAVE to guess. B: Ummm okay your sister went through your stuff? A: As if. B: You found out your dog peed all over your shoes? A: Ewwwww! Etc. etc. effin etc. Please get on with it! There’s a thing called tension, I understand, but when it’s dragged out through 200+ pages I can only rein in my annoyance to an extent. And Undead Much was pushing it.
Okay now that that’s out my system I know want to talk about Megan’s supernatural ability to NOT you know, die. Girl has been 5 times in one night but can still dance with the best of them. She’s been shoved to a freakin’ slab of concrete, beaten, lost about 2 pints of blood, a lot of skin, and holy freakin’ crap she still manages to defeat the bad guy! Um, okay. Okay, not really okay for me.
I’m so wholly disappointed in this book that I am just about to break down and cry because by golly this was supposed to be FANTASTICALLYAMAZING!
SPOILER ALERT: If you haven't read You Are So Undead To Me this review will contain spoilers. So stop reading! =]
Undead Much? was just as much fun and cute as You Are So Undead To Me. I started it right after I finished the first book so it was super easy for me to get right back into the story but even if it's been a while since you read You Are So Undead To Me, it won't take you long to get back into Megan's crazy world.
Undead Much? starts a couple months after the ending of You Are So Undead To Me. Megan and Ethan are together and their relationship is heating up. They are both in Enforcer training so they don't have a lot of time together. Their time gets even shorter when Reanimated Corpses start showing up around town, attacking Megan. Instead of helping her, Settler's Affairs is looking at her as the main suspect. Things couldn't seem to get any worse until an Unsettled shows up and keeps showing up. Not only will the guy not go back to his grave, Megan is starting to have feelings for him, feelings that she should not be having towards a dead guy.
Megan hasn't changed much since the first book. She is still kind of unhappy with her super settler powers but she is learning how to use them. She is a bit more mature but it seemed like she cried a lot in this book, over every little thing. She was still a strong heroine who knew how to take care of herself but she was close to the breaking point in this book.
The plot again kept me guessing. The mystery of who was raising the zombies was just as good as the one in the first book. I liked that I didn't know what was going to happen in the end or which side people would end up on.
Overall, Undead Much? goes on my list of books to recommend. The end left some questions but that just gives me hope that there will be another book and if so, I can't wait. Megan's story is one of the most entertaining stories that I have read and I am hoping for more!
Zombie Settler Megan Berry is back with more crazy, not normal (even for those used to dealing with zombies) adventures. [Goodreads page for the first book [book:You Are So Undead to Me|3965854]]
Megan's so busy with her training (and his) that she and Ethan barely have any time together, but during a rare moment together in his car, they're enjoying some quality alone time when an Undead interrupts. Cliff, who already knows just who Megan is, just felt like going for a walk so it's Megan's duty to take him back to his grave and Settle him (interrupting her date, of course). And so begins a weird chain of events that not only brings out more not-of-the-norm Undead, but also finds Megan accused of some pretty heinous crimes and struggling to clean her name.
Undead Much was really a great sequel to You Are So Undead to Me. The characters were consistent from the last book but also more developed and grew from where they were in the first story and the zombie mythology was also consistent (but built on).
I really liked that the back story from the first book wasn't just laid out in the first few pages as a point by point reminder, but built into the first few chapters so that if you'd read the first book (but forgotten some things) you were reminded with it still being a part of the story that you could enjoy if you didn't read the first book (which you should!). This book definitely measures up to the first and left me really, really wanting to read a third (and probably fourth, etc). (And not only because of the cliffhanger ending.)
The end ending was really unexpected and great but the ending, while being really good, wasn't amazing so that's why the 8.
It was definitely appreciated that this book worked so well with the last book an didn't just change everything completely, but also came up with new things so that it was as great as it was. This was probably the best way to do a sequel/series.
When I started this book, I wanted to like it so much. Last summer I read the previous novel and loved it! It was one of my favorite books, and the characters were so great. So I couldn't wait to get my hands on this and dig into the story. While I did enjoy the book, I felt like something was missing. It made it very disappointing that I felt that way.
First off, the novel took me forever to read. I kept getting frustrated and annoyed with a lot of characters. Especially Megan, which made it very aggravating. I loved her in the previous book, and just didn't get what was going on. We get introduced to the new character Cliff, who is a zombie. At first, I actually liked him a lot but then I found him kind of annoying. I guess I just love Ethan and Megan so much, I didn't want any other person getting in the way. Although, he was adorable towards the end in the battle scene with the zombies.
I never could of guessed who was behind the zombie attacks. I kept trying to figure it out but never could. At first I was shocked when when it was revealed who it was, but then it all made sense in the end! I loved that it did that! Before I wrap up this review, I got to mention about how much Monica grew on me in this book. Her character was great and the most developed it seemed like! I really want to read more scenes with her!
The ending is a complete cliff-hanger, which stinks. bad. I heard that the publishing company discontinued the series and the author had to write a short novella for the third book to wrap things up. That makes me very sad, cause even though I had a few complaints about this novel, I never wanted the story to end so fast! :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :(
I really enjoyed Undead Much? And although I’m not sure which book I liked better, this one or You Are So Undead to Me, I found this another refreshing book from Stacey Jay. I was worried there might be a little repetition in the plot, but there wasn’t at all. Megan had all new adventures and there were a lot of new secrets uncovered about Megan’s past. Some of her old enemies came back to haunt her, and she became more powerful. The main plot was intriguing, but I really liked a lot of the sub-plots as well. I don’t want to give anything away, but there were new mysteries revolving around Megan’s dad, Jess, and Settlers in general.
In You Are So Undead to Me I felt like Settling took a back seat for more normal things- like the romance between Ethan and Megan. In Undead Much? it was the opposite- Settling was the main plot, and Ethan and Megan’s relationship only came into play on occasion, and I liked it that way. It was easier for me to understand what was going on in the zombie world and I enjoyed reading the scenes with Megan and Ethan without feeling overwhelmed. The zombie genre is really taking off and I’m looking forward to reading more books about the undead in the future. The ending of Undead Much? also left room for another book in the series. There were a lot of cliff hangers that left me wondering what was going to happen. The ending was great, but it definitely left me wanting the sequel! Jay’s writing style is funny and refreshing and Megan’s first person narrative really kept the story moving. All in all I would definitely recommend Undead Much? to fans of You Are So Undead to Me and anyone who hasn’t read the first book, you definitely should!
In addition, the cover is really cool- I love the couple hugging against the white moon. The zombie hand rising out of the ground definitely adds to the effect!
Ravage zombies, witch blood, crazy ass cheerleaders, and a bit of mystery to solve… This was a perfect book to read in October. Megan Berry is one character that I love to read, in the first book of this series You Are So Undead to Me, I loved how fiery and stubborn she was. In the second book, you start to learn a little bit more about why Megan is so much more powerful than other Zombie settlers.
I had this book sitting on my night stand for a while and my boyfriend picked it up and read the front and back covers and he just laughed. I felt compelled to defend this book because although it seems juvenile (I’m 26), I loved the way it was written. Stacey Jay has a way with words that can connect anyone with a sense of humor to her characters. She sets the tone of her books in a very light-hearted manor, even though she is dealing with a wickedly scary subject, that’s what I like about her writing so much.
There was a little bit of a love triangle going on in this book as well and though it wasn’t your typical version, I still felt all the feelings that Megan was going through. Ethan is so hunky. That’s really all I have to say about that right there because every scene that involved him had my tummy somersaulting. Another character that I loved in this book was Monica, after You Are You Undead to Me, she started to grow on me, but I loved how loyal and supportive she turned out to be in this installment.
I’ve heard rumors that Stacey Jay might not be continuing this series because there doesn’t seem to be enough interest, which makes me sad. There was a huge cliff hanger at the end of this book that sets the next book up perfectly and I for one would love to read it. Honestly, I’ll probably read everything that Stacey Jay writes, but I want to know what happens to Megan Berry and her family and friends. I’m intrigued.

My Review~ Can this series get any better? I think the answer to that is HELL YES!!! I love this book from start to finish. In every chapter, something exciting happens. I keep getting taken by surprise when I read this book. There is enough action for all those action loving people, enough romance for all those romance loving people, and enough of everything for everybody. Stacey Jay is such a good author. I really recommend this book to be on the top of your TBR pile.
Plot: 5/5 Characters: 5/5 Ending: 5/5 Cover Art: 5/5 Pages in Novel: 306 Other Books in the Series: You Are So Undead To Me
Finding You Are So Undead To Me utterly hilarious, I couldn’t wait to read the sequel Undead Much? Even though sometimes the second book in a series can be a let down, I still had high expectations.
Megan Berry finds herself in trouble, again. And even with the help from some unexpected zombie, who seems to have trouble with the fact that he should go back to its grave and rest, it’s getting even more complicated by the minute.
We get introduced to new characters and from the start I had a pretty good idea who the evil genius was. And I am not that good at solving mysteries, so I thought that the character herself would find out pretty soon too. Too bad she didn’t and she kind of began to work on my nerves. She wasn’t the hilarious girl from the first book anymore, she changed into a cry baby. At points I just had enough of her and felt like she needed to snap out of it. And I am glad that she felt that way too, because her character changed in the last couple of pages from a cry baby into a strong Zombie Settler.
The plot felt a little bit like it was done before. I would have liked to see that my pick of the evil genius was wrong, so that I could be surprised at the ending. There could have been more twists and turns. Though the writer does make this up to you with all the action scenes throughout the story. And if you know me, I love a good action scene.
Even though Undead Much wasn’t as funny as the first book it still had a nice plot and a bunch of great new characters. Megan Berry is a character that I am truly fond of and I cannot wait to read the third book in this utterly fun series. Pick this book up if you read the first book or if you are a lover of light, funny and zombie books.
Slightly better than it's prequel, Undead Much? gives readers what they want zombie-action, drama, romance, and suspense. It a new kind of zombie novel we can all love and enjoy.
In Undead Much? Megan is falsely accused of using black magic to raise a new kind of zombie. With subplots of the relationship between Megan and Ethan. Plus, some unsolved mysteries from the 1st book.
I'm highly satisfied with what I got from Undead Much - trilling plot, great characters, the smooth-flowing writing, lots of action and suspense for the reader. There's alot of plot in Undead Much, it's all well played, and not overwhelming. I would say the writing improved from the 1st book, I loved the clever remarks.
The characters all bring something great to the table, whether it be laughter, joy, or horror. We also see alot of suspense grow from the 1st novel You're So Undead to Me, there's new mysteries unfolding, answers needed, and more zombie-trouble.
I can only complain that Megan was a little too whiny and a cry-baby at times. Then, the story got slow occasionally and I got hesitant for it to pick up. Lastly, the ending wasn't a great one. Apparently, there must be a sequel because this one isn't satisfying. On the bright side, it has me hooked on the series.
Overlooking the small defects, Undead Much? is a great book with uniqueness, and trill. It's bound to please most readers with it's charm. I highly recommend, but be ready to stay extra hours reading, it's unbearably hard to stop.
Being a zombie settler is not an easy job. Getting the dead to settle down can take time, energy, and a lot of magic, or it can be as simple as delivering a lost charm to an old flame.
Try juggling that, a car wash to raise money for Pom squad, a hot zombie-slaying boyfriend, and trying to prevent the squad from losing their half-time spot at the school's game to the rival cheer squad, and you've got yourself a full plate.
When evil not-quite-dead or defeatable zombies attack Megan and the Pom squad's captain and fellow zombie settler, Monica, at the car wash fundraiser, things turn ugly and Megan gets accused of raising the dead. Worse, no one believes her, except for her boyfriend and Monica. With the threat of someone truly evil trying to destroy the town with the undead, Megan can't afford to get sent to Settler Prison.
With the help of her boyfriend and another zombie slayer, will Megan be able to clear her name and get the undead back where they belong?
An intriguing, unique story that grabs the reader's attention early on and doesn't let go until the very end. The characters are well-developed and the plot is fast-paced. The book is truly action-packed. Although it helps to have read the first book in the series, YOU ARE SO UNDEAD TO ME, readers will still be able to fully enjoy the story without too much confusion.
Those who like action, paranormal fiction, adventure, and mystery will enjoy reading UNDEAD MUCH.
A somewhat satisfying sequel to You Are So Undead To Me. The first book was more amusing and light-hearted while this novel seemed to have so much things going on at once and definitely more serious.
The plot had a ton of suspense, I'll admit, but it seemed like it was dragged on forever and ever. So many hints, so many clues, but no real concrete information until the last quarter of the book or so. And that's when I felt like everything happened at once. Kidnapping, the creepy ass ritual, the culprits, relationship issues, etc. etc.
The characters, Megan, Ethan and even Monica was a delight to read about. Megan is still the likable character and you can't help but cheer her on. However, I have to say, I feel like she was really gullible and highly unsuspecting. She couldn't really tell who to trust and who not to trust except for the obvious. So it was slightly annoying to see her being friendly with the slightly disturbing and ultimately, creepy as hell, dude. And Ethan, as always, is worthy of our swooning. He's perfect. Nothing to say. And it's interesting to see Monica's more humane side instead of her always seemingly snarky attitude towards Megan.
The ending is a huge cliffhanger. So disappointing, really. Especially since there has been no news if there's another sequel to this series.
Overall, Undead Much is somewhat satisfying but there's just that whole excessive tension thing going on that bothered me.
I loved the first book in this series, You Are So Undead to Me. I also loved Undead Much?, but a little bit less than the first book in the Megan Berry series.
I didn't really know where this one was going to go. You Are So Undead to Me felt pretty tied up at the end to me, so when I found out that there was going to be a sequel, I was surprised. But I didn't mind, because I loooove the way Jay writes, and I also loved Megan and Ethan, the main characters in this series.
However, I felt like Megan and Ethan weren't the same characters as they were in the first book. I could see definite character growth, which I loved, but their personalities seemed somewhat different. I felt this with Ethan more than Megan, and that somewhat disappointed me. I wanted them to be the same as they were in the first book.
Also, before I end this review, I want to point out that while the first book is more "romance" than focusing on Megan's Settling, the second book isn't like that. The second book, in my opinion, is more focused on Megan's Settling, though the romance aspect is still there.
Besides a few dull points here and there where nothing was really going on, Undead Much? was a wonderful sequel to You Are So Undead to Me. If you haven't read either of these books, I highly recommend them to you - you won't be disappointed! They're perfect if you're looking for a "lighter" zombie read.
Undead Much? is the action-packed, zombified sequel to Stacey Jay’s debut novel, You Are So Undead to Me.
I really liked Megan in You Are So Undead to Me; I thought that she was nice, funny and normal (for a Zombie Settler, anyway.) But I just kept changing my mind about her in Undead Much?. In the beginning, Megan seemed overly confident, almost bordering on arrogant, and it really irritated me. But as soon as the accusations started being hurled at her, I was firmly back on her side. Then she did something very stupid and my sympathy fled. However, as soon as her life was turned upside-down again, I wanted everything to turn out okay for her. Confused? I was!
Reading Undead Much? really made me realise how complicated American high schools are. I mean, who knew there was a difference between cheerleaders and the pom squad? I do now! (Pom squad = dancing, cheerleaders = dancing-ish, cheers and pompoms). Although I would have liked to go to a US high school for a bit, I feel that I’m much safer in my UK sixth-form college. We don’t have cheerleaders OR a pom squad!
Although I didn’t enjoy this as much as I did You Are So Undead to Me and I felt that it didn’t really get going until about two-thirds in, the set-up for book three at the end of Undead Much? made me sufficiently intrigued to continue reading the series.
After reading and enjoying You Are So Undead To Me, the prequel to this, I was curious to see how Undead Much would measure up to it. And as it turns out, Undead Much definitely threw the previous one way out of the ball park.
For one, it showed major plot and character development. Megan proved once again to be a likable character that was easy to root for and Ethan was swoon worthy as always. Plus, I loved how in this we got to see Monica's more caring side along with her usual infamous snarky comments that always lead to a laugh or two. Moving on, the different plot developments such as 'What secret is Megan's parents hiding?' to 'Who really is behind all these attacks?' to 'Will Megan be proven innocent in time??' lead Undead Much to be a suspenseful page turner. Lastly, Jay's writing was up to key as usual and tended to have the feeling of true teen's voice throughout.
My only complaint was the ending which totally left you on a cliff hanger and I absolutely have no clue if there will be another. Though, I certainly hope there will be because this series is staring to become a favorite of mine.
In all, Undead Much proves to be a fabulous addition to this fun series!
