Why do authors feel the need to take a previously published book of theirs, change the title and then publish the same book again under that "new" title? This was first published under the title "Dragonfyre." I read it back in 2011. Now, I see "Mystic Trinity" and I think it is a new book from Ms. Grant and I grab it. If I was not a subscriber of Kindle Unlimited and dished out bucks for this book, I would have been very angry. FYI. If you purchase books for your Kindle (as I do), be sure to read the entire story line description. You might see, down at the very bottom, the note that the book was previously published under another title.

....oooy at long last this is behind me, this was torture and not cause it was that bad (not that it was that good either) but this book (even though isn't one in a series, and can/should? supposedly stand alone) can't be read without reading the previous ones first, cause u just get lost or have the feeling ur missing info.
Ironically i did read the previous books in this series (but as i progressed, i liked/enjoyed the stories/books less and less) and as i got to this (last) book i just took a much needed "break". which (considering i was gonna read this anyway) i shouldn't have, cause its been a while and have read quite a few books in the mean while so trying to remember characters and their back story and how they connect here, was a b*tch. So yeah don't recommend that.

other than that the story started good and then it was just unbelievable (ha, i know - even for a fantasy it was out there) but wont get into this cause i've had enough and glad it that last in this series cause even if there were more wouldn't put myself through this again.

We finally get Aimery's love story as he falls in love with a beautiful priestess who has taken a vow of celibacy. Kyndra is one of the order who look out for and protect the fae lands dragons. She is in charge of the small, but powerful, Blues. When someone kills one and steals an egg, she and Aimery are tasked with finding the miscreant and bringing him and the egg back. Aimery has discovered that a fae he trusted and mentored, has not only turned to black magic, but has been killing other fae. Now he has killed a dragon, stolen the Blue's egg, and gone to a realm where fae magic doesn't work.

Lots to this one. Forbidden love, treachery, sacrifices made to protect a lover. There was a dual narration, and the female narrator was different than the previous books in the series.

Aimery is betrayed by someone he calls 'brother' and follows him to another realm to retrieve something that was stollen and bring the friend back to face justice.

Aimery is such a wonderful character to follow, always loyal. I loved Aimery and Kyndra's story. Knowing some of Aimery's backstory is nice since I've already read the Dragon King series. Kyndra is strong and a good pairing for Aimery. I wish this series would continue.

Listening to this in audiobook format I didn't like these particular readers. The female voice seems off with no inflection at times, very drab. The male voice was much deeper than the previous books.

Bottomline: Last connected to The Shields story line, well worth the read!

Loved the Shields stories. The concept is awesome and the stories were very engaging. This story line doesn't tie into that on Earth. It's set on another realm. But I was so happy to see Aimery's story. I loved how it all wrapped up and I loved seeing more of the Fae Realm. I would def recommend this book but read it last after The Shields. I haven't tried the Druids Glen books but might.

Omg!! It was really hard 4 him after he found out the truth about his so called friend but he knew between the both of them and their promise 2 the blue Dragon that they will have 2 do every possible 2 save everything they had, and more. I can't believe that he still was able 2 do everything that was needed with no powers but the overall things were worth it in the end cause they can hopefully have a future 2gether.

Amazing series

This series started out with a lot of errors in editing, but the story was amazing and it only got better with each book. Donna Grant is one of my favorite authors and you won’t be disappointed reading the series. It gives you a glimpse of the Druids and the Fae. Wonderful series.

I know it's my own fault for continuing series that I don't like. I have read much much better, and much, much worse. It's fine. It's okay. It's nothing to write home about. The characters are fine. The hornyness seems to have found a decent enough balance where characters are actually getting to know each other.

The series has had the same kind of flow. The same tropes. There must always be a fear that comes and goes and isn't consistent. There are secrets and the need to keep things to themselves. This is more prevalent in the other books but was one of those things that got so old so fast. Then there's how horny the guys get for the ladies and how basically each and every one decides if they just bang any woman then they'll be fine. They never do, but it's there. All the ladies are virgins, of course. That kind of thing annoys me in books. It's such a typical thing to do. It does make sense with the time period it's just, one of those things that gets old so fast, especially when it's the same thing across a series with different characters.

All in all, a forgettable series. The premise and plotline held a lot of promise. The character left much to be desired. I think this could have been pretty decent if more effort was put into characters, their development, and showing them more as people than sex objects.

Dragonfyre is the story about how Aimery the Commander of the Fae army finds his HEA. If you have read other books published by Donna Grant, you will have seen Aimery before in the Druids Glen, The Royal Chronicles, and The Shields series. You do not need to read this book before those series or those series before this book, it is a stand alone story; however, you should be aware that the story is connected to those series.

Dragonfyre is true to what I expect from Donna Grant's storytelling. It provides vivid detail and character development, that hooks you in from the first page.

Kyndra is a priestess of the Dragon Order sworn to protect all dragons in the Fae realm. This is an important role that she has worked her whole life to obtain. What is more honorable that protecting the creatures that contain all of the magic that fills the realm and the fae with life. However, as a priestess she can never know the touch of a man. That was never a problem for Kyndra, until she met Aimery.

Aimery has dedicated his whole life to being the best soldier and commandeer that he can possibly be for his realm. He has sacrificed his own happiness. As he watches the King and Queen of the fae and the King's brother, rejoice in their happiness of having children and building a future together with their mates, Aimery realizes that he is lonely and that what he truly wishes to have is someone to raise a family with.

The instant attraction between Aimery and Kyndra causes both to rethink their roles in their civilization. As they struggle against an evil and work to bring justice, will they find that their true place is with each other?

This story has action, honor, dragons, and the fight against evil. A true fairy tale for those of us who enjoy an action packed romance.

3 1/2 stars. Really liked the characters. Just a lot of misspellings and grammar issues. The story and the characters are good

This one is about Isran taking a blue dragon egg and then fleeing to another realm. King Theron has asked Aimery (fae commander) and Kyndra (Dragon Order) to find him and get the egg back. She has taken vows of chastity but she finds Aimery attractive. While in the realm of Thav, they head to Eldar's (he rules Thav) castle to get his help before Isran does. On the way Aimery kisses her to protest their cover. That starts their feelings for each other to ramp up. They make it to the mountain but then Eldar's men catch them and take them to the castle. There, while waiting for Eldar, they have sex, and Isran takes over the castle. From there it's a battle of wills to see if Aimery can stay sane without his magic, and if Kyndra can help him and help them save the blue dragon egg. They don't save the egg, but they do save each other, and make it back to their own realm.
Sweet ending with Aimery & Kyndra.

(This review may contain spoilers).

I'm not sure I can say this was my favourite book from the series, but it was nice to see Aimery have his own story and eventual ending.

I liked the use of dragons in this book and I did like Kyndra in this. I have to say, though, I felt that some of the language was a bit too modern. Also, I noticed several errors in this book.

I liked the scenes between Aimery and Kyndra, but I felt that there were a lot of similarities to the previous book. It was sad what happened to the dragon egg, but I liked the ending all the same.

It was nice to see Lugus and Theron appear in the book again. Lugus was definitely one of the characters who grew on me throughout this series. I'm sad that it seems to have come to an end now - I enjoyed this world and the characters in it.

I have very mixed feelings about this story. On one hand I was very frustrated with it. At times, when some information was revealed, it was later reveled again and again but slightly differently and somewhat contradictory i.e: power is received if a fae, practicing dark magic, bathes in the yolk of a dragon egg.
There were numerous times throughout that I found myself thinking "What?" or "Why?". Also for such great warriors they seemed pretty inept at times. I didn't connect with the characters. So in the end I was looking forward to just finishing, so I could start reading something else.
On the other hand the ending was kind of sweet and romantic.

I have mixed feelings

Let me say first of all that I loved this series and I loved all the characters, but Donna you need a better editor! There were so many grammatical errors, words missing or extra words in a sentence, and words used out of context that it really ruined my reading experience. And it was the same with the other five books as well. At first I thought it was because the first one was the first book she had written, but, that being the case it should have been rectified by the third book at least. Hopefully by now a more experienced editor has been found, because I look forward to reading more of her work.

Nice finishing story that gives a HEA to Aimery, the awesome badass Commander of the Fae to whom we were introduced in the earlier books of the Druid's Glen series. I'm a little disappointed that Kyndra, our equally badass fae heroine who is both priestess to the Dragon Order and a warrior, isn't given much of an opportunity to do any, well, warrior-ing. Instead she's continually smacked around by the bad guys or rescued by the good guys. A little too passive, you know? But if you're going to be rescued by a hero, Aimery's your man, or fae, that is. Great story, well worth the time.

Finally, I get to find out more about the Fae from the Shields series! And this book has dragons and lots of fighting! I am one happy girl right now. It was fun having a book about Aimery, the mysterious Fae commander. Not to mention, I finally get the reference to Lugus from the Shields books. I also love Kyndra the heroine! Great book! Although it subtly gave away the ending of the Shields series.

This book contains some sexy times.

Good story but....

I have read most in this series already and I am happy Ammery has found his love, but towards the end when it should have filled out the story it was like the author was done and just wanted to finish the book, quick killing of the bad guy, no real closure for the Dragon. What was the amulet was it alive was it a Dragon, why did they want her to go?? So many questions and no answers

Really enjoyed this book!! It made me anxious at times when Aimery and Kyndra had to face difficult challenges before being able to be together. I laughed and cried heaps during this book and sighed at the end at being apart of this beautiful love story. I recommend this book and the Druids Glen series to all historical romance readers that enjoy the bonus paranormal characters along the way :D
