For enthusiasts keen to discover the many fascinating aspects of the natural world. This book has full-colour illustrations of around 100-200 different species per title that have been reproduced from the original artwork. It provides ideal field guides for both children and adults and incredible value for money.
Lovely little book. Handy for popping into pocket. Used it on a recent holiday and we found it really helpful. Pictures are paintings and not photos but they are very clear and informative. Covers the species found in the Med as well as British waters. Useful for identifying crabs as when crabbing you get loads of different types
Alright - as described. But I just found a more accessible, handier one for the preschool/reception years crowd in Rspb First Book of the Seashore, which I expect will be used far more (much simpler, more streamlined - basically, a picture book laid out like a guidebook).
This one by Usborne would be better with slightly older children (maybe 7 years or around there, and up?), or with parents who want to read it as much as their kids (totally fine - I read kid's books all the time. No shame in that!), as it provides more information, similar species, etc.
Handy size, a good book to chuck in the glove box. ;)
Oh, I loved these books as kid! They were yellow and small, and they had ticky boxes next to everything, so you could cross off all the plants and animals that you'd seen! *becomes nostalgic*
