The Quarter Mage #2

The Hour Mage

Rate this book
After a neck-breaking escape from the fairylands, Sanja has just settled into her new life in Cezux when the consequences hit hard. She survived the fairy king, but to save Tristan and the Mages, she sacrificed what wasn’t hers to give.

She would have been fine biding her time in the shadows of the capital of her kingdom until the day she could take back her throne, even when guilt now dictates her days and fear her nights. At least they are all still alive and together. But the fragile balance is shattered when Cyrill shows what horrors he is truly capable of.

Then there is Prince Recienne, whose cryptic goodbye hasn’t helped Sanja sleep soundly either.

As mysteries unfold, political intrigue sweeps her into a web too powerful to fight—at least, not without an ally. Sanja must unlock a new sort of power. But for that, she’ll need to give up more than she is ready for.

The Hour Mage is the stunning and sexy sequel to Angelina J. Steffort’s award-winning The Quarter Mage.

Whenever I start a book by this illustrious author, it takes me exactly 2 seconds to completely zone out! I don't hear anything, I don't see anything, except for the book on my lap and the the words jumping out at me like a school of salmon, not caring about the elements around me, determined to get upstream while the rest of the river flows alongside me. She has such a way with words, drawing out the maximum pleasure to the reader as if she'd laid out a feast for a starving soul, to satiate it, to plug in any empty spaces there might be.

Sanja's head always seems to be receiving some sort of trauma, she's always banging it somewhere but the biggest trauma to her head are the truths she's being evading and when they hit her in the face, she's still trying to find excuses. Those traumas hurt a heck of a lot more than the physical ones she's prone to. I loved the loving relationship between her and Tristan, of Sanja's fierce determination to protect those she loves but could the same be said about those she sought to protect?

In the previous book, Quarter Mage, there was something so compelling about Recienne, something so real in contrast to his facade, the feelings he evoked in Sanja, the way he helped in a very round about manner, I had an inkling there was more to him than meets the eye and what unfolds in this book, besides all the secrets being kept, is that the inkling had just been ignited into a raging fire, a fire even I couldn't prevent from burning away every assumption I had of him! I liked him from book I but good gracious do I adore him now! And no, I'm not going to say why, besides the fact that he's truly an awesome character, suffice to say, I would willingly allow myself to be in his sight, his company and captivity.

I do love that the characters are flawed, they show what's important to them, really important and it's not always what one would assume. Not only do they have the usurper Cyrill to unseat, they have a Crow on the loose, about to cause havoc, they need their magic which has been shattered and only a very daring ploy can help them retrieve it. But some are more interested in regaining their magic than what is really important, love, loyalty and trust. I admit I felt animosity towards that individual, a great disappointment in them, although I could understand the motive. But the betrayal! Oh my the betrayal.

This was tense, this was dramatic, this was unbelievably pulse racing, this was everything I could possibly need in a book but more, so much more, leaving me almost hollowed out by the magnitude of this outstanding read with a firm desire and eagerness to read the next installment

The Hour Mage picks up where the first book left off. Zelia, Tristan, and Sanja are in Cezux with only a small amount of residual magic that Zelia was able to retain after the mage stones were destroyed. It doesn't take long for them to be discovered by Cyrill and Sanja is captured and taken once again to her tyrannical husband who previously tried to murder her. Under duress, Sanja complies with everything Cyrill demands of her until one night a fairy from her past shows up and bargains with her husband to allow her to return with him to his palace. Not knowing if she is in the hands of a friend or foe, Sanja returns to the perilous fairylands of Askarea where she once again is faced with the prospect of nothing being as it seems, leaving her unsure as to who she can trust and not knowing where true danger really lies.

I have to say, even as much as I absolutely LOVED The Quarter Mage, I loved this one even more-- which is rare in a series. I've found that often times it's difficult for an author to maintain momentum in subsequent installments of their stories. However, this was not the case at all and Angelina J. Steffort just blew me away with how well she molded this story into absolute perfection. The pacing started out just a bit slow, but very quickly picked up. I am not ashamed to admit, though, that I may have just perceived it this way because the character I was most curious about wasn't at the very beginning of the book. So my impatience to know more about the alluring, Recienne , might be to blame for this.

And speaking of this mysterious fairy... if you were like me and ended the first book with an intense curiosity and the absolute need to know more about this fairy prince who also masquerades as a bandit, then you are in for a treat! Because we get so much more in this one and I cannot think of one thing that disappointed me in the way in which it was presented. Another thing I want to commend this author on is her portrayal of Sanja. So often I've encountered authors making heroines whiny and stubborn with all sense of logic tossed out the window in an attempt to portray them as strong-willed and independent, but Angelina J. Steffort did not make this mistake. Sanja was crafted in a way where she questioned motives and bit back when necessary, but also took the time to digest everything and think clearly through situations. It was so refreshing to not have her bullying the hero the entire time.

As far as the plot goes, parts of the story took a turn in a way that I wasn't expecting, but loved and I truly can't find fault in this book anywhere. Well, except for the fact that it ended on a pretty intense cliffhanger and now I have to wait for the next book. But again, I only have my own impatience to blame for this discomfort and annoyance.

Overall, I am thrilled with the way this story has progressed and can't wait to read the third installment, The Never Mage. If you love high fantasy tales, with amazing character development, and a little romance, then I suggest you give this series a try because you will not be disappointed. I was given an ARC from the author in exchange for an unbiased review.

Angelina's second instalment in The Quarter Mage series is an exhilarating read that follows Sanja as she delves deeper into her magical abilities and uncovers hidden secrets in her quest to reclaim her throne. This book is a must-read for any fantasy lover, with its excellent world-building and thrilling action scenes that are sure to keep readers on the edge of their seats.

Sanja is a relatable and likeable protagonist whose character development is spot-on. The story is filled with twists and turns that are sure to captivate readers, and the richly detailed magical system and fascinating characters only add to the book's allure.

Angelina has done a remarkable job in crafting a compelling and engrossing story that will leave readers eagerly anticipating the next instalment. The book is full of flawed characters that show what is truly important to them, and the tension and drama of the plot will leave readers breathless. The characters' motives are not always what one would expect, adding an extra layer of complexity to an already gripping story.

My review also touches on the excellent development of Recienne's character, who becomes even more intriguing and enigmatic in this book. The betrayal and the ensuing tension add to the book's pulse-racing nature, leaving readers emotionally invested in the characters' fates.

Overall, this book is a five-star read that deserves all the accolades it receives. Angelina has once again demonstrated her talent for crafting captivating and well-written stories, and any reader looking for a thrilling and engrossing adventure should not hesitate to pick up this book.

I’ve always thought that Angelina J. Steffort was a brilliant writer, but she truly knocked it out of the park with “The Hour Mage!” This is the second book in the series, and the world building was exquisite as usual. This book was also very action packed, with plot twists that had me wanting to throw my kindle at the wall!!! Sanja, the heroine, really grows in this book in my opinion. I also loved learning more about Recienne - he’s definitely a new favorite of mine!!! All in all, this was a fantastic read. I highly recommend to fantasy romance lovers!!!

Exciting second installment of The Quarter mage series. It focuses on Sanja, as she evolves as a character and learns more about the depths of her capabilities. Lots of secrets and plots get unravelled as she discovers other players in the game to get her throne back. This book was quite reminiscent of Sarah j Maas' ACOTR but it was written well and drew you in from the first pages till the last.

Book 2 in The Quarter Mage series

A heart-pounding, breath-holding, edge-of-your-seat, swoon-worthy, magically, fantasy read that took me on an emotionally twisted journey.

Anticipation. Intrigue. Twists. Banter. Choices. Desire. Redemption.

On the run. Living a lie. Unable to forget circumstances that lead to being wracked with guilt from the consequences. Fighting for a throne that's been stolen with blood. Struggling to break free of the chains of loss and guilt.

Strong character development. Detailed world building.

"Because you are a symbol of freedom, Sanja...And hope cannot die."
"Mates are something stronger than what you call a husband or a wife. They are soul-bonded, lovers, more than that even. Two halves of one whole."
"Your promise means everything."

I asked and Angelina delivered!!! The Quarter Mage felt like a warm up compared to this book and now we are finally getting into the meat and potato’s of the story. The Hour Mage had a lot of development between Sanja and Recienne (thank the lord). And Tristin? We don’t know him in this house.

Definitely an improvement over book 1 in that this wasn't quite so gasp, let's suddenly have sex, but the ACOTAR parallels are staring to be a little too much for me to dismiss as merely utilizing similar concepts. It's like a 3.5, but I'm rounding up to 4 to show it improved--but not by a full star.

Overall, there's a much greater focus on the actual plot line of the story and the various conflicts, so it was engaging to see how the characters were working to approach things despite the slow pacing. Most of the action pops up in the last ~10%.

I did, however, find the one scene to be a little eye roll because why Sanja would be in that place in the plot and think getting fingered by him is the right course of action just felt kind of forced and uncomfortable. I think it would have been better had the scene gone with Sanja just wanting to be held. An orgasm is not more emotionally satisfying, nor does it make the oncoming romance (as I think it's clear Sanja and Rouge end up romantically involved) feel any more foundational, especially since several chapters earlier he yelled at her for thinking she was "using him" to hurt Tristan. So, making an ex jealous incidentally is crossing a line, but asking to get fingered in the woods to forget said ex isn't? Okay.

Plus, I found the way the author tried to execute their back and forth, hating and then maybe not, didn't really work. Sanja isn't wrong when she says that Recienne/Rouge/the fairy king hasn't given her much reason to trust him, yet he and every other character keep acting shocked and offended that she doesn't. Feels kind of like Sanja was being gaslighted and kept getting mixed signals because no one wanted to be direct.

Still, at least Rouge and Sanja spent a decent amount of time talking and spending time together that wasn't based around them being so horny for each other they lost all their braincells. The author is, however, dancing around how badly she wants them to declare that they're everlasting bounded soulmates. Rouge has almost nonstop been saying things that are basically you're my fated mate and I would die for you but my hands are tied because you must save the world and I can't risk losing everything because I am king. I'm pretty sure all the times the other side characters stopped short when speaking to Sanja was because everyone knows Sanja is Rouge's fated special bonded fairy mate but they aren't allowed to tell her because conflict and drama. I'm sure the next book is gonna tell me if my hunch is right.

The plot wasn't perfect and I often had my brow furrowed over some weird choices made or found certain aspects were lacking because they didn't make great sense or felt contrived, but overall it was enough to get me through over 500 pages, so there's that.

We'll see what the next book brings I guess. It looks it comes in at 574 pages in length, so hopefully it gives me something really delicious to sink my teeth into for once.

◦ I've received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review ◦

⮞ 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬 ⮜
Sanja has grown a lot from the 1st book to this one, I loved how she learned to suck in all the pain and heartbreak she's gone through.
Recienne has definitely surprised me, he has been portrayed as such a bad guy but in this book, we're seeing such a different face of him and I got to love him even more than I've ever liked Tristan.
Tristan sadly this time has shown his true colors and while his actions are being excused by Sanja and his past story I still do not think what he did was right, and I do not like him anymore.

⮞ 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝-𝐁𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 ⮜
The focus wasn't the world-building, you get enough information about your surroundings but in general, the world-building isn't too extensive.

⮞ 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐈 𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞𝐝/𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞𝐝 ⮜
The new plot twists and the new turn of events have kept me hooked till the end. In the beginning, the pace was a bit slow, but eventually, it picked up and things turned into such a big twist. I've enjoyed getting to know Recienne even more and his true story. Also, the moments between Recienne and Sanja didn't scratch that itch because they were too short!!! And I can't wait to get more of these two. Also, the crow fairies are definitely giving me nightmares.

⮞ 𝐒𝐩𝐢𝐜𝐞/TW ⮜
There is one spicy scene but is not overly detailed, you get enough information to put your imagination at play. There are TWs such as blood, killing, and a bit of a more detailed scene about a massacre towards the end of the book. As usual, I didn't get triggered by it.

4.5/5

Plot:
Angelina Steffort drew me in with her first book in the series. It was enchanting and raw. The worldbuilding was top-notch (I am glad to say this continues in book two). I love that the plot picks up in the aftermath of the first book. I think this book focuses on the emotional aftermath in a brilliant way, but it also helps to drive the plot along as Sanja takes on some very ambitious challenges. But also she is so good at delivering plot twists. I finished this two days ago and I am already itching for the next book in the series.

Character development:
Honestly, the character development is what draws me into Steffort's books. She has the ability to create these rich, dynamic characters that make choices, good and bad. I was excited to see that continue in the second book. I am a sucker for good character development and she really made sure to deliver on that.

Sanja is a badass character who is resolute, raw, and powerful. I really appreciate her narrative because I think Steffort does a good job of demonstrating what a powerful FMC can be. Equally parts ambitious, powerful, and willing to take chances.

On the flip side, I love that she was willing to also flip our preconceived notions from book one about certain male characters in this book. It truly shows the richness and depth of the characters she writes. They are static characters. They are messy, they make mistakes, and that makes for a wild adventure in the book. I am also interested to see where her love story goes next. I also love that the love story has been building from book one to book two in small ways, but they are so much more apparent once you read book 2!

Overall, if you like fantasy romance, powerful, but flawed characters, fae/magic/mages, political intrigue, and "what the heck just happened" plot twists, grab a copy of this book!

Sanja is back.... in Cezux, working undercover with her new-found family to help her people against Cyrril’s rule. Best laid plans have a tendency to go wrong at the most inopportune times 😊 Thus prepare to fight right beside Sanja in her journey, and meet old enemies, new friends and some frenemies along the way.

“The Hour Mage” is the second book “The Quarter Mage Series” by Angelina J. Steffort, who has a veritable uncanny gift for storytelling and description, which brings effortlessly to life a wide variety of characters, all with their own strengths and flaws, in a fast-paced, nicely flowing highly enjoyable story, with incredible twists and turns, solid good plots and absolute wonderful characters.

Steffort’s descriptions are rich, lively, and refreshing, never over-the-top, and provide the perfect frame for the story to evolve, and the characters to grow. Character building is at the core of every Steffort book, she infuses her characters with a life of their own, and we follow them willingly every step of the way. The story takes us in for a wonderful ride: there is fun, despair, rage, tears of joy and sadness, enemies to both endure and fight, new friends and unexpected allies, lessons to learn and family to protect… everything you would ever want, in a good fantasy book. The story flows effortlessly from the very first to the last chapter, with the only drawback being that it eventually ends… really it ends… but do not worry my friends… the third book in the series is just three months away 😉

Sanja and the others have fled the faerie lands and returned to her home city, where they are hiding amongst the poorest of the population and seeking to remain hidden. Once discovered, she is forcibly returned to her murderous husband, who seeks to use her to win over her people. And that's just the beginning of the story!

This book takes you through the full range of emotions, as Sanja finds herself first in danger from her husband, and then back in faerie lands once again with the faerie king she had so recently escaped from. But she soon comes to realize that maybe he isn't the bad guy he seems to want her to believe him to be.

And yet there is still so much more going on in this story that I'm hesitant to mention here for fear of spoiling what is best discovered as you read it. (And I, for one, think you'll want to read it.) The only truly frustrating thing is that the book ends on a cliffhanger. Like me, you'll need to get hold of the third book in the series to find out what happens next. (Fortunately, I believe that book has already been released, so I plan on getting my hands on a copy soon.)

I received a review copy of this book, and I very much enjoyed reading it. If you like fantasy novels, tales influencing faerie bargains/deals, royal intrigue, or are just looking for a book to lose yourself in for a while, I think you'll enjoy this one. I received a review copy of this book, and I know I truly enjoyed reading it.

Hour Mage

Starting off exactly where Quarter Mage left off is a huge hit for me!

San feels so guilty for doing what she has to do. I'll never get why characters do that🤷🏾‍♀️, but I'm not a writer.
*First thoughts before reading*
I know I have the wrong "ship", but I sorta, kinda, really want San and the Fae king to be together 🤷🏾‍♀️. I mean come on! He is awesome.

*After reading*

Solid 4 stars.

This story takes us everywhere and back again. Talk about a roller-coaster of feelings! I love that. I felt like everyone was maturing and no one was stagnant. What more can you want from character development? I just knew in my reader soul a certain character was not the one he should have been. Or was it two?🫣
Although, this was not a predictable plot twist, my soul knew!

I enjoyed how the story moved, being introduced to new characters and old ones who changed, different lands described with just the right amount of details to allow the reader to picture the world without being overwhelmed by details.

Let's talk about that ending?! My whole body jumped into overdrive with excitement and adrenaline. I was turning pages like my life depended on it. And BAM! Cliffhanger. NOOOOO! I just have to know what happened. I wasn't expecting the end and my mouth literally fell. I need more.

What I liked the most: Rogue, Sanja's realisation of Tristan, meeting Clio and Astorian and the plot.
What I liked the least: Tristan, Cyrill, The Crows and Moyen.
Tropes: high fantasy, enemies to lovers, fatrd mates? Found family elements.
Favourite characters are Rogue, Sanja, Clio and Dimar with Rogue bring the overall favourite, he was in the first book too! I don't think that will change for me lmao.
Notable scenes: anything between Rogue and Sanja, budding romance, Rogue's nickname not being what I expected, meeting Clio and Astorian, reuniting with Dimar and Zelia, the cliffhanger, the fights and Sanja's perseverance for someone who doesn't deserve her time or effort.
How I felt while reading this book: excited, angry, sad, happy, fearful, annoyed, devastated and eager for more.
What a great sequel. Fantastic plot and worldbuilding, characters very unique. High fantasy with various other tropes and a teeny bit of romance in there.
Sanja showed a lot of growth in this book and I can't wait to see her become the queen she was meant to be.
Recienne/Rogue had the best growth and character development and we got to see more into the King he's become and what he'd do to save all of the kingdoms.
Clio was an absolute delight and I can't wait to know more about her.
Astorian is definitely the Gordon (from Shattered Kingdom series) of this series and love him for it. Hope to see more of him too.
Tristan I still dislike and this book reinforced those feelings some more.
I hope to see more of Zelia and Dimar too, both are such good supportive family members for Sanja.
Hate The Crows, Cyrill and Moyen and hope they are dealt with by the end of the series in satisfying ways.
Will definitely be continuing the series when the next book is released. I'm so invested now in these characters.
I'm voluntarily leaving a review after having access to an arc.

The second book in this series follows Sanja through the horrors of being again at Cyrus' mercy, put into a helpless position and manipulated as a puppet, then being handed over to the attractive and unreadable fae prince Recienne. Only living in his palace and being exposed to many interactions, Sanja gets the chance to see his mask slip and the true person behind to show. And getting to know Rogue definitely shuffles the cards anew.. only, she has a mission, and Tristan is not to be forgotten. Sanja must learn how to revive the magic again to succeed..
Adventurous story set into a brilliantly constructed world, filled with details that create the full picture, realistic characters, and political intrigue that twists the plot every so often. Sanja is put into a position no one can envy, her hands tied and her will bound equally by the evil man that calls himself her husband. She is also determined to reunite with Tristan, only to get hurt and face many obstacles time and time again. And her heart2, getting broken again and again, seems to be turning another direction. Also, I loved seeing more of Recienne, getting to know the man behind the prince, his family, and his true character. I would love to see more and learn what happens with the Ravens now.

After surviving the Fae king and escaping the kingdom, Sanja settles into a new routine in Cezux without the terrifying King Receinne controlling her every move - literally. She and her family are together, which is what counts in the long run. And they can still help others even after the trauma and loss they've experienced. However, when King Cyrill discovers how close she is and decides to take advantage of a situation she didn't really realize was growing, she finds herself out of the proverbial frying pan and tossed into a fire she can no longer control. Yet, it's discovering how huge the involvement of the Crow fairies has become that has her wondering just how she's going to survive this new twist. And if Prince Receinne is a part of the pact with the Crow king, who will she be able to turn to now?

I always feel like one of the hobbits preparing to go on an adventure that could change my life when I read one of this author's series. She does nothing to half measures; instead, the entire playground of her mind opens up for the reader in ways none of us could predict. I am so excited to find out how this adventure continues.

We continue with the rehashed ACOMAF, but I must concede that this book deviated much more from the Maas story, again in many positive ways.

Then there were the plot points that really messed me up. I don’t want to have to tag this for spoilers so suffice it to say there were several points where I was buried in nonsensical fairy bargain confusion. There was also the feeling of having slipped into an Armentrout novel at times, with as much time as I spent sitting in a palace listening to info dumping. There were also far more continuity errors in this book, and it seemed to have a lot of phrasing that needed polishing. Overall it could have used a bit more run through extra eyes to catch the minor stuff or point out the murkier parts of the plot.

Overall this book was a 3.5 for me but I’m rounding up because I did enjoy it enough to be APPALLED that I have to wait to know how it ends. To me, wanting to carry on says it was a fun ride. I will be looking forward to diving into the next while the kids are on summer break!

Just as intriguing as the first book in this series.

Maybe a bit slower paced but that felt needed to fill in background with characters and the current events. I never felt like it was information overload and enjoyed learning answers to lingering questions I had from the first story as well as more history from this fascinating fantasy world.

Sanja is a inspiring character. She is compassionate and puts those she loves, including her people as Queen, above her own wants and needs. She is a true selfless character and I love reading those types in stories. I'm happy that she was able to grow and learn to move past her prejudices and misconceptions in this book in order to work for the greater good of all involved.

I'm so excited for the next installment! I can't wait to be able to see where this journey will take Sanja and all the other characters I've come to love in this series.

This book is a good sequence to the one before. It keeps the development of the story and make us to fall in love with the characters.

I was wishing all the time that something would happen between Sanja and ***, but at the same time, I was like her, not trusting him, for it is too good to be true. Their relationship grows throughout the book, slow and with highs and downs, but it is cool to see both of them other sides.

The final was splendid! When I turned the last page and found out that I have to wait for a next book I was very sad. I want to know what happens now!!!

I'm very disapointed about Tristan. He was great in the first book, but I did not expect the thirst for power coming from him.

I think would be good to have a extra chapter about Clio and Tori. Both of them are goos additions to the story and have a lovely story.

The Hour Mage

Sanja has escaped the fairylands and the fairy King, but now needs to deal with ramifications of her actions. With twists and turns lying ahead of her, she'll need to let go of more than she thought possible or that she's even remotely prepared for.

Book two in the Quarter Mage series picks up after the events of book one, and really focus on San and how she's dealing with everything. I enjoyed watching her character evolve from book one and become more of the bad@$$ that I've been dying to see in her.

I wasn't as invested in the plot of this book as I was the first. It felt like the story was more stagnant and didn't move forward much until the end, where the author is gearing up for book three. It definitely felt like a middle series book that was more filler information than plot heavy.

The first book hooked me in so much I couldn't wait for this one to continue the story. Picking up where the first left off, the plot marches on. Though this book is slower than the first, with lots of information being learned by Sanja and the reader, there is still action and intrigue, especially in the final third of the book. There is a lot of character development and relationship development of the main characters from the first book, which I think is just as important as action.

I liked the new characters that were introduced and more appearances of some not so loveable characters from the first. The ending absolutely left me wanting more, and I am very interested to see how much worse their predicaments will get. If you like fae and magic and wondrous fantasy stories, pick up tho fantastic series!

The Hour Mage

I decided to read The Quarter Mage and The Hour Mage on a whim. I was in a reading slump and was looking for something to capture my attention. Well, both books exceeded my expectations. I loved that Sanja is strong, vulnerable, witty and wise. I like Tristan in the first book, but in the second book I didn't like him. But I understood why he did what he did. Rogue was everything, and I'm hoping for a happy ending for him and Sanja. I also wonder what other secrets he is hiding from Sanja.

The crow fairies are evil and I want to see them fail, but at the same time I keep wondering whether this author can make one of the crows good and start a whole new series with them. Anyway, I love these books, the world-building and the characters. I want more - therefore, I can't wait until The Never Mage is released.

This series is awesome! Book one grabbed you and held on tight but book two really took off as we carry on from where we left off. With a thrilling and danger filled storyline, this is action packed and suspenseful, mysterious and magical and has so many twists that you will be glued to the pages and on the edge of your seat. Our favourite characters continue to grow and develop and the world building is amazing and descriptive and you can easily visualise what the author wants you to see. There are tons of secrets, there’s betrayals, it’s intense and captivating and I found myself once again engrossed into this incredible world.

Once again, this author does not disappoint! Somewhat unusual for me, but I enjoyed The Hour Mage (Book 2) even more than the first book!

There is more character development and what you may have thought about each character may not turn out to be true! We also see a lot more of Recienne and learn more about him which definitely adds even more zing to the story!

This author always has a way of making the reader want to do nothing else whilst immersed in the pages, and once again we are left hanging at the end needing to know what happens next immediately!

I cannot wait for the next instalment!

This series is getting GOOD. I was already invested wholeheartedly in this series from Book 1, but this? This book was awesome. The character development is on point, the twists are just right to keep the story going. I wonder which direction Book 3 will take? I'm wondering if there will be an alliance flip in the future here. A certain character is getting a bit morally grey, and I hope desperately he embraces it, because morally grey is *chefs kiss*. I love Sanja, she is a very relatable main character to me. I don't typically see myself as a main character, usually bonding with a support instead, but Sanja is everything. Diving into Book 3, I can't wait a second longer.
