"Vidia had never been one to mince words."

Vidia is the kind of character I love, she's got an attitude, she likes being alone, she doesn't really fit in with the other fairies and she doesn't seem to mind that fact at all.

The art really captured Vidia's attitude in her poses and facial expressions.

The book was really great and i liked the adventure . Vidia and another fairy try to prove that Vidia didn't steal a crown that belonged to the fairy Queen. They go on a adventure to find the crown and to prove that Vidia is innocent. I recommend this book to kids who love adventure.

Vidia was a mean fairy and quite selfish. She only had one friend named Prilla. It was an adventurous story, but I wished Vidia was nicer.

yessssss. revisiting my old fav.

vidia was my favorite as soon as i read this book like 20 years ago lol. glad to see i still love her just as much, or maybe even more!

i think i also was very satisfied by the mild mystery of this one. while it’s not a true mystery book in the fact that a reader can’t figure out the mystery themselves because they aren’t given clues, it has the same feeling of following clues to lead to a result. very satisfying and fun to follow along.

reading this one with the context of the previous series really helped. i’ll always wish id read the “fairy dust and the quest for the egg” book when i was a kid who loved these Disney fairy books, which constantly refer to that book.

Vidia is my least favourite of the fairies: rude, sarcastic, she has nothing nice to say to anyone. So when she looks like the culprit when something goes missing, it's unsurprising that most other fairies wouldn't help her out. All except one. It's a fun whodunnit as the fairies follow a trail that can lead to the whereabouts of the Fairy Crown. I did think it strange that Queen Clarion goes by the nickname Queen Ree in this - I just don't think it was necessary to make this change. Other than that, interesting mystery but a totally unlikeable main character.

Anything was ever better said than: “Vidia had never been one to mince words.”
This book is just pages and pages of Vidia being...Vidia. She does have an attitude, is way too selfish, and is not nice to anybody—the fairy that doesn't fit in with the others. But this was a good tale to show her other side—the one who's always alone, growing tired of it, and that can, after all, care for something other than her life and talent. And I just love Prilla! She's so sweet and gentle.
And now, I'm really curious to read about Vidia, Rani, and Prilla's adventure to save Pixie Hollow.

Vidia is such an intriguing character. Arguably, she's the most complex of all the Disney Fairies.

This story was such fun to reread because I love the undertone of mystery, solving the crime before it's too late! I also love the redemptive spark we see in Vidia, even if she's too afraid to admit it. She's so perfectly Vidia, and yet, deep down, she values her community and culture, even if no one else believes her.

Another reason I enjoy this story is because Prilla--a unique fairy herself--sticks so loyally by Vidia's side. She dares to see the best in people and gives Vidia a chance when no one else will. Prilla doesn't let Vidia's sour disposition stop her from doing what's right. She takes the high road and it's such a delightful example of kindness for readers.

Vidia--always one to do things on her own terms--is accused of stealing Queen Ree's crown just before the queen's Arrival Day celebration. But through sheer determination and quick thinking, Vidia and Prilla rush to find what truly happened to the crown before it's too late for Vidia.

These are short, quick, easy reads. But they have surprising depth. Vidia faces decisions that shape her and give the reader hope that she will be a little bit better today than she was yesterday. She must choose either to succumb to the accusations or to stand up for herself, to accept or reject the unlikely help of a friend, to endure or give up when things get hard, to have patience or not, to help or watch others work, and ultimately to do what's right or not.

The growth we witness gives us hope and it inspires us to make those seemingly small decisions in our own lives. And, of course, the magical world of wings and pixie dust, gems and talents, and every unique little corner we get to explore of the Home Tree is just the icing on the cake.

A charming and inspiring addition to the series with fabulous illustrations, wonderfilled pages, and just the right hint of mischief and motivation. A delight.

From a Disney series of stories about the fairies that live in Pixie Hollow on the isle of Never Land (Peter Pan and Tinker Bell).

All the fairies are busy preparing for a celebration in the queen’s honor when her crown disappears and the only suspect is Vidia simply because she’s a loner. If she can’t find the crown and prove her innocence, she will be banished from Pixie Hollow.

I love all the different types of fairies, but some of them are a little too specialized giving them hardly anything to do. They need to spread out the labor a bit more. I also like that cute little colored drawings mixed in the pages. But why is Tink dressed so differently from the other fairies?

Footnote: 1) Obviously, “innocent until proven guilty” doesn’t apply to fairies.

Fave scene: Prilla offering to help Vidia and where they finally find the crown.

“Vidia sneaked a sideways glance at Prilla. Prilla smiled at her—and a strange thing happened. Vidia smiled back at Prilla. It wasn’t one of Vidia’s fake, sickly sweet smiles, either. It was a real, true sign of Vidia’s gratitude for Prilla’s help. Prilla knew there would be no thank-you. She knew that, from this moment on, she and Vidia would probably never speak of the matter again. She knew that the smile was all she would get.

But it was enough.”

I loved this. I wished we had a Vidia origin story.

Really love that they made a fairy who just can’t deal with organised events and hates authority lol I identify with Vidia more as an adult 😂
