I didn't read the first book of this series. Since that was about another couple I didn't have any problems getting into it and really enjoyed the beginning.

As a covenless witch and without any substantial magic Dani is weak and on the run. Someone she definitely doesn't want to encounter is paying good money for covenless witches. While making her escape Dani accidentally ends up in a broody dragon shifters hot spring - which he is currently using - instead of her father's bar.

Dani was an alright character, but I would've whished for her to be a bit more independent towards the end of the book. It felt a little too damsel in distress for me and like she was just too scared to bring in her own thoughts and opinions, which made her feel too flat for my taste. Other than that she was a likeable FMC with a good sense of humor. The banter with side characters was fun, too.

It's mostly Dani's POV with some chapters of Rykers POV in-between. I like getting a glimpse into the MLC's head sometimes, but I thought some of Ryker's chapters didn't add anything new and thus felt a little repetitive.

I absolutely adore this series! This book and Dirty Lying Fairies are mostly standalone, but there are a few characters that cross over. I'm glad, that I read them in order. But you don't really have to.

Dani (YES, MY NAME) is a covenless witch who has been on the run since her mom died when she was 7 years old. She gets into some real trouble when an old and powerful vampire is looking for covenless witches and sends a pack of wolves out to find her and bring her in for a reward.

Dani has gotten pretty good at slipping through people's fingers, but she barely makes it away from the wolves via a portal that she bought from another witch.

The portal lands her in hot water...literally. She lands in a hot springs just outside a rustic cabin. The cabin is home to a dark and broody male, who begrudgingly decides to clean her up and house her until she can find a way to get back home. His cabin just so happens to be in Russia, and her home is in the Seattle, WA area.

I have been itching for this book since I finished dirty lying faeries. Sabrina you brilliant being I loved it!! When do we get Dirty Lying Wolves?! 😂😂 I know this just came out but I’m a greedy reader. On to the actual book review.

Funny and consuming. I couldn’t put it down. The pacing was top notch. I enjoyed the back and forth between Dani and Ryker. Speaking of Ryker 🥵🥵. Definitely added to my list of fictional boyfriends. The thing I love about the enchanted fates series is none of the books end on a cliffhanger. I run in to that way to often. The MC’s story gets completed while the world continues to build. I want more of Gavin’s story 👀👀 also more of Jarod 👀👀. Those two characters have my interest and I hope we see them again. No spoilers but it was nice to see some characters again. I will end with this last bit. The enchanted fate series is perfect for people who are wanting to dip their toe in fantasy. Or for those of us who can’t seem to get enough. The world building is there but not overwhelming. It’s fast paced and addictive. Steamy and well I’ll just give this 🌶️ 🌶️. Read this book it’s great you will love it.

What a fun book! I have to say I got this book based on the title because what else could it be but a fun ride--with dragons! And it lived up to all my expectations. The characters were funny at the right times, the quirks of the cast of characters were funny and adorable, and the exciting, serious times were balanced with humor and delightful banter. The book's pacing was good, sort of a medium fast; I never felt bogged down or rushed. Knowing the different ways of the fae, dragons, werewolves, and vampires was excellent. I really enjoyed the way Sabrina Blackberry crafted her world and how it worked. There is a mystery, romance, fated mates (I love this), and a humongous battle scene I found very well crafted and super thrilling. I definitely want to go back and read Dirty Lying Faeries and whatever comes after this book. Trust me when I say if you enjoy a paranormal, urban fantasy, rom-com adventure---this is for you!

This one was just as good as when I first read it on wattpad for the first time. Unlike the first, I actually really like this one. Especially the relationship between both MCS. There was definitely a buildup between both and it wasn't instant like in the first book. I loved Ryker (MMC), the perfect protective mate for Dani (FMC). But I didn't really like Dani much. She was helpless throughout the book, I get that although she was supposed to be a witch, she hadn't practiced like one. So she basically grew up as a human. But 😭 I was hoping she would've been helpful later on in the book. But she wasn't, she was so useless. And such a damsel in distress, it was painful to read about. I didn't like Thea, the FMC from the first book but at least she had her uses. But I loved some of the supporting characters in this one.

Anyways I'll probably come back to actually finish this series soon but let's see.

This is the second book in the enchanted fates series and continues the world building begun in Dirty Lying Fairies. Dani is a covenless witch and unaffiliated witches have a collection bounty. She is escaping from a group of bounty hunter werewolves when the transport portal spell apparently fails, sending her not to her dad’s bar but to Siberia, where she is saved from freezing by a large male. But with a bounty on her head, who can she trust? I found this book just as enjoyable as the first book and look forward to the next installment in the series!

In the sequel to Dirty Lying Faeries, Blackburry brings in new supernatural beings living among humans, focusing this novel on witches and a solitary dragon. The pace starts off quick, with her MC, Dani, immediately on the run from werewolves set on delivering her to a vampire. But no worries if you like sequels that tie in well with the original. It takes a little bit to get there, but the faeries from the first novel are also well represented.
I loved the pacing in this novel. Regardless of whose POV I was in (either Dani or Ryker), the action moved along briskly. In the acknowledgements, the author said she had a bit of trouble pulling this novel together but for me, there was no drag like I found in the beginning of Faeries. Possibly because the world building had been done in the first novel and she could get straight into the action in this one. Regardless, I finished this book in two days and considering my schedule, that’s always a sign of quick pacing and action that doesn’t let me go.
I’m already looking forward to the third book because I want to know more about the characters that I think are going to be in there. Blackburry dropped enough breadcrumbs near the end of this book that leads me speculate on which characters the plot will revolve around in the last installment of this trilogy. I hope I’m right since there was some tantalizing backstory that wasn’t delved into in this book and I really want to know more.
Also, please bring Jared back. I adored him as a secondary character.

Read this series as a light silly change from my usual reads, just for laughs, and I wasn’t disappointed. This sequel is honestly way better than the first and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Especially the first half of the book. Giggled all the way- 3.5 for sure

This book was even better than the first. I love the plot line and the characters. I felt like I was there. Throw in a dragon, a witch, a cabin in the middle of nowhere in Russia and wolves hot on the trail. Also an epic battle scene. Witty Banner, suspicious characters and a lovable dog that pops in and out. Must read!

if you haven’t read Dirty Lying faeries you should start there for sure, but it’s not mandatory. Some of those characters will show up in this installment.
Dani and Ryker are it for me! The witty banner, the mystery, the allure. And the whole “scooby gang” trying to save the day and take down the villian “Apollo�� I had several theories of what magical character we would see next. The anticipation had me unable to put this down when I read it! There’s a big reveal that had me audibly going OMG! Read it you won’t regret it! Looking forward to Dirty Lying Wolves!!

Bought this book because I love dragon shifters, and it looked interesting. Was very disappointed. It started out okay, I noticed the author does a lot of skipping forward in time, but I was fine with it. The characters had like no depth to them. At one point, the author forgot she'd already introduced the mmc to the wolf shifters that tried to kidnap the mfc in the beginning and literally reintroduced them again. I have no idea why all these other ppl were willing to fight to the death to protect the mfc with very little convincing when they don't even know her. Also, she just starts casually being able to use magic with minimum amount of coaching at the very end despite expressing she was scared of her magic cause it always goes bad for the 1st 90% of the book. I really wish this book had been on KU so I wouldn't have wasted my money on it.

Let me start by saying I loved this as a concept, but I DNF once at chapter 26. It had a strong set up with a good mystery, romance, main characters, and villain, but kind of abandons it after 20 chapters. It was trying to take the plot in too many directions and would often over explain itself. Didn’t help that a lot of the interpersonal conflicts were rushed/brushed over between the main couple within the first few chapters.
Ultimately, I liked the characters, story, and spice just fine, but something about how it was executed felt a little dragged out and disorganized, like the author had a different book planned before switching gears.

TLDR:
A DNF for me. Recommend if you’re looking for a semi-lighthearted adventure with a little slow burn spice to fill time.

2.5 rounded up to 3. I was super on board with this book until about chapter 37. The final battle dragged on for 7 chapters. I did not care for pretty much all of it. Interestingly most of the main characters got their Mary Sue moments not only Dani. I totally lost interest and started skimming when Apollo randomly brought out Dani's dad and Ty. Them becoming Fae was just all sorts of ridiculous in my opinion. I really did enjoy most of the characters. I will probably check out the other books in this series although I may have already tried Dirty Lying Faeries and dropped it. I read this on Wattpad as opposed to buying it on Amazon.

All of the characters are so one-dimensional (the MMC has minimal presence/dialogue despite being the sole dragon in the story) and the tropes are tired and overdone. In the first half of the book the author employed alternating perspectives between the FMC and the MMC, which I initially thought was interesting, but the second half is told exclusively by the FMC which felt like really lazy writing. Not to mention the gratuitous f-bombs and the r-rated scenes that contributed absolutely nothing to the plot.

Unless they make a book about Rykers buddy. He seems like he would have a great story.
I love the character build up . I do wonder thought about all the travel and how fast they do it. Amazing. Why do all paranormal things in up in the PNW. Just curious . I liked the ending. Would recommend.

Fantasy romance is one of my favorite genres because it has all the best parts of romance novels with a side of extraordinary world-building. Dirty Lying Dragons was no exception and I was thrilled to be given an advance copy to read.

Danica, aka Dani, was the most down-to-earth, practical, commonsense heroine I have encountered in a long time and it was so refreshing. A girl after my own heart, she was able to put her pride aside and rely on other people to help her and took advice as it was given. We need fewer heroines that "know better" and "don't need a man to protect me" and more rational street-smart heroines thank you very much!

"A smarter person than me would probably have kept their distance better. Ryker was sure of his abilities, unlike my disastrous attempts at magic. He was unfazed by a pack of wolves coming after me - comfortable even. He had the strength to him that set off a hot coal of envy in the pit of my stomach." - Dani

Ryker's character was a tiny bit of a letdown for me, but my hopes may have been too high. He spent a lot of time denying what was right in front of him and was wishy-washy about Dani for way too long. Still, I’m a sucker for a dragon romance and Ryker was all I ever needed him to be once he manned up - powerful, vengeful, protective, and possessive.

"'I'm going to erase every memory of that bastard. The clothes will be gone, the bruises will be gone, and he will be gone. And once that's done, I'll show you what you mean to me,'" - Ryker

Ryker and Dani balanced each other out really well. Ryker was possessive but never jealous or overly controlling. He let Dani take the lead repeatedly when it made sense for her to do so, not barreling over her decisions but just supporting her.

"I'm not going to eat you,' Ryker snorted a laugh, then changed the expression on his face to something of flirtatious mischief. 'That is, unless you want me to, firecracker.'" - Ryker

I wish there had been more focus on the romance between Ryker and Dani. I was expecting much more spice and sexual tension than I got in the end. I’m just saying... I have expectations when I pick up a dragon romance.

Overall though, Dirty Lying Dragons was a great second act from Sabrina Blackburry and I will definitely put more of her books in my TBR piles as they come out!

I received an eARC for my honest opinion.

What would you do if you were running for your life and you had to do a spell to take you somewhere safe, but you knew that magic did not work for you the way you always wanted. You do make it away from the people trying to kidnap you, but now you find yourself in a weird country with a weird…but sexy as all get up male. You can tell something is off with him, but you can’t seem to figure it out and you two bond over the two weeks you are there waiting for his friend to come back to visit him…

I thought the first book, Dirty Lying Faeries, was great, but this book was way better for me. I loved all the action, the drama, the romance, the focus on strong FMC and of course the sexy as all get up dragon. I thought the plot was well developed and had a great pace to it. I enjoyed that this author knows how to paint a picture with her words, and I loved being able to feel like I was there in the story with the characters.



I love that the characters in her books have growth in them, even if it’s something at first you don’t see the changes that they take throughout the book. I thought Dani was a fun character, I wouldn’t mind having her as a friend. I loved getting to see her strength come along throughout the book and seeing her confidence grow. I loved the banter between the characters so much and it made the book a lot more fun to see that snarky, sassy way to the characters, mostly Dani and Ryker, Ryker and Jerod and Gavin. I would say more with the growth of Ryker but honestly, it was Dani that had the most growth in this book and with the plot showing strong female characters I can understand that.

I can not wait until the next book comes out because of that ending, giving us a small glimpse of what and why Jerod needs help from Dani and Ryker… I need book three and soon please lol.

At first I was confused about the whole book series because the first book was about faeries. Then the second one is about a witch and dragons, but also other creatures were in like wolves and vampires. Then after reading the first book, I will say it is exciting to read about different creatures and their love story. Dani almost reminded of Marnie Piper from Halloween town. They seem similar in character but the difference is that Dani was afraid of magic because of what happened to her mother. She was on the run because she was a bounty for a vampire. No one knew why he wanted covenless witches but Dani was one of them on the list. Luckily she was able to get away in a circle saying a spell and meet a Dragon named Ryker in the mountains. He was kind enough to help her out and let her stay. I found this situation funny because of the attraction between each other. I was mad at first with the fact that he wanted to use Dani as bait for the vampire lord Apollo to find out his plan for the covenless witches. Then Ryker decided after developing feelings for her. The most creepy character in the book was Apollo. I would never want to run into him at all. He changed my view and thoughts on vampires. I was excited to read that Caroline was part of the story. Then Devin and Thea. I was happy to hear that they finally had their child. Then and every other fae I remember in the first book. It's crazy that her blood was the most powerful in the world and the most dangerous if in the wrong hands. I would have never thought a dragon and a witch could be life soul mates and having a part of the dragon to prove she was his part of him. I look forward to book 3. I enjoy seeing all the characters I read about getting their part in the story. I hope to see more of it in book 3. Come read if you like witches, a dragon who is the last of his kind, vampires who are the villains, and every other creature to discover in the book.

When I found out this book was available as an ARC, I suddenly remembered how much I loved Dirty Lying Faeries, the first book in the enchanted fates series and I knew instantly that I had to have a chance to read it. And it didn’t disappoint for on e second. As for book one I felt hooked and completely enthralled by the action and the magic and the plot from the first few pages. When I found out it has fated mates, a very possessive and brooding MMC and forced proximity and a certain undeniable bond between a dragon shifter and a witch without her coven … I was lost to the world and suddenly teleported there with them, experiencing their journey and their romance (that was spicy and interesting by the way) and the trials they will have to go through because of what they are to each other and to the world. Ryker and Dani’s story was one of impossible feelings, constantly running for their lives … and a love match right where you least expect it because … that is where your heart wants to be!!!!
It was really good and the added bonus of a very hot villain vampire called Apollo … it made things ever more interesting !!!!
I enjoyed this book very very much and I can’t wait to read the next instalment in this series of interconnected standalones!!!

So, as I was reading Dirty Lying Dragons, I also was reading another book, and Dirty Lying Dragons was not going so well for me, but other than the very clear editorial errors (missing words, words used incorrectly, things I wouldn’t typically flag in an ARC if everything else is pretty good because it is possible that line editing could have happened after the ARCs were released) I couldn’t figure out exactly what my problem was.

Then I realized that by 15% of the way into that other book—the exact same amount of book consumed in both cases at that point—I was already totally clear on 1) MC1’s characterization, 2) MC1’s big issue, 3) MC2’s characterization, 4) MC2’s big issue, and 5) the trouble the couple would have as the story progressed. In the case of Dirty Lying Dragons, I had some notions, but a lot of things were still ambiguous. Or even slightly contradictory.

Dani is a witch, but her mother died before she could teach her daughter how to properly use her gift. When word begins spreading that a very powerful vampire, Apollo, is rounding up coven-less witches, Dani who because of her lack of magic is coven-less, is given a gift from a fae. When Apollo’s wolves attack Dani and attempt to kidnap her, she jumps into a magic circle and says the incantation and hopes for the best. She is unceremoniously dropped into a hot spring with a half-naked man, Ryker, sitting there enjoying his soak. Thus begins Dani’s adventures.

This fantasy romance is very hard to put down. Everything from the characters to the writing is impeccably done. There are enough twists and turns to keep any reader in her favorite reading space reading into the wee hours of the morning. There are no saggy spots where a lesser writer would have resorted to adding pages of angst.

From the hot springs in Siberia to a business square in Seattle, the story progresses as Dani and Ryker come to understand the nature of their relationship.

There is one caveat that must be mentioned – the one and only intimate scene in the book is graphic but occurs late in the book.

If you’ve never read fantasy or romantic fantasy, give this book a try. You’ll be taken in by all the good writing, the well-developed characters, and the world building. It is hard to imagine anyone not enjoying this book.

Fantasy romance featuring heart-fated creatures: a witch and a dragon. Too much, shall we say, salty language in the novel. I guess the F-word is considered a perfectly normal swear word these days. The setting of the novel posits a host of supernatural beings who hide among humans and carry on their wars and lives without being outed. Dani is a witch who has a bounty set on her by a powerful vampire who is collecting covenless witches in his plans to gain power and decipher the answer to a seeric vision. Narrowly escaping the werewolves who are cashing in on the bounties (great action intro to the novel), Dani magically ends up in Siberia in the home of Ryker, maybe the last dragon in the world. And why was she drawn there? Her heart knows the answer. The only way to keep Dani safe is to call in allies among the faeries, other witches and warlocks, and even some werewolves, to fight against Apollo and his vampires who are all lusting after her blood in particular. I liked the supernatural world building and magical fighting specific to each type of supernatural being but found the romance a bit sophomoric. And then, too, the unoriginal, kind of offensive, use of so much profanity and swear words.

Dani hooked me right away she’s this witch who can’t seem to tap into her magic, which makes her feel powerless in a supernatural world where power equals survival. With werewolves hunting her and a vampire wanting to claim her like some shiny trinket, the tension is there from the start.

Enter Ryker, the centuries-old dragon shifter she quite literally stumbles into well more like crash-lands in his hot spring, and everything changes. Their dynamic is such a fun mix of prickly banter and undeniable chemistry. Dani is vulnerable but never weak, and Ryker is the perfect mix of grumpy, protective, and surprisingly soft once he starts caring for her. Honestly, their slow-burn romance had me grinning one page and clutching the book the next.

What I really enjoyed is how the story balances danger and romance. The stakes feel high Dani’s hunted, secrets are waiting to explode, and when the truth finally comes out, it completely shakes up the supernatural hierarchy. But at the same time, it has that swoony, magical, can’t put it down energy that makes paranormal romance so addicting.

If you like witches with hidden depths, dragons who are equal parts lethal and lovable, and romances that set the supernatural world on fire, Dirty Lying Dragons is a wild, fun ride.

What a fantastic sequel to the first of the series! I don’t think you even need to have read the first book in order to enjoy this one. It almost reads like its own series of books, with so much jammed in!

Dani is a malfunctioning witch. She’s always had trouble with spells and has a bit of baggage where witchcraft is concerned. As a lone witch, she ends up being hunted down by wolf shifters when an evil vampire gets it in his head to collect witches without a coven. On the run, magic malfunctioning, Dani ends up appearing in Ryker’s sanctuary far, far away.

Ryker has his own secrets and baggage but can’t seem to pass up helping the lost witch. They end up with a bit of a truce that grows into a sizzling chemistry neither acts upon. At a pivotal moment, though, trust is formed and it seems inevitable that these two will wind up together. As I said, this is almost like 2 books in one because we have a big culmination about mid-way through the story that then makes the last half that much higher stakes. There is romance, action, oodles of paranormals, and, yes, a HEA all rolled into one book I’d definitely recommend.

Dirty Lying Dragons - Book 2

Dani has magic but no ability to use it… She has no coven and is being hunted by werewolves. When the werewolves find her one night, she races to the roof of her apartment building and her broken magic lands her into a hot spring with a very old dragon, Ryker. Who happens to be a shapeshifter.

When she is captured, Ryker sets out to save her and their love for each other will rock the foundations of the world around them.

I’m going to start with Dani who wasn't as likeable as I needed her to be. She was needy and mediocre and I hate that in a FMC. I did however enjoy that she was an outcast but she kinda fell a tad flat for me. She did have a good sense of humor and her banter with Ryker was AMAZING!!! There wasn’t a good balance of POV between the two leads which was a tad weird but Ryker often felt a little repetitive so maybe that's why.
I will say the crossover was excellent and the world building is top notch and I kinda appreciate that these books all work as standalones. I liked the mild spice and all in all… the story was well developed.
