There's a LOT of great books here! This review is for Beard in Hiding by Penny Reid

I've been waiting for Diane's story for a long time. She's been a supporting character in her daughter Jennifer's stories- Beard Science (Cletus Winston & Jennifer) & the Solving for Pie spin off books,
( Engagement and Espionage & Marriage and Murder also Jenn & Cletus)
Diane & Repo (Jason). OMG!
Please note, the author recommends reading the previous books first. I agree.
They are all great. This book parallels- time line for the Solving for Pie books
Ok, now for Diane and Repo !! OMG. Hold on - the first couple of chapters. There is a majorly hot
"meet cute".
Diane's ex-husband Kip is a major reason for Diane's troubles and her reputation as being emotional, controlling and erratic behavior. Grr Kip What he does to Diane & Jennifer!
I really liked Repo from the beginning. I just knew he was more than his reputation. This is also an opposites attract.. Like polar opposites.
There are great supporting characters. A couple of Winston Bros and "others". I hate to spoil the link that Repo (Jason) has to a key supporting character.
I was kept riveted . How can they get out of this? Oh, and Isaac-Diane's son. We need more of his story!
I loved reading this, but I do want to listen to the audio asap.
I loved the ending, but OMG. I think that they need to make another appearance in the Solving for Pie series

Dear Sexy Ex-Boyfriend is Lauren Blakely’s newest romantic comedy and the first book in the The Guys Who Got Away series. I know when I open one of Lauren’s books that I will fall. Fall for the main characters. Start to fall for the secondary characters since I am sure I will see them again. I will also fall in love with the city they themselves are falling in love in. She sets it all up perfectly. Taylor Swift needs to take notes, Lauren is the queen of hiding Easter eggs.

Oliver, Summer and her twin brother, Logan have been best friends since they were fourteen years old. Seventeen years later, they still are. Oliver is her person. Summer is his. They just get each other. They know each other better than they know themselves. It’s also why they can bring in their prom promise whenever it’s needed. To be a fake couple. And after Summer writes a lovely letter about him and it goes viral, the promise is activated. To save their asses and careers. It has never been an issue before but this time is different. It’s not just a few minutes, a few hours or a night. It’s weeks. It’s pretending to be in love. For the world to see. They have become a hashtag. They got this, right?

Sure. Except this time it involves kisses. Sweet kisses. Hot kisses. Dangerous kisses. Kisses they don’t want to end. Kisses that they shouldn’t want with their best friend. The best friend they can’t lose. Their person. But what if? What if the kisses don’t have to end?

I seriously fell hard. Fast. All it took was the first chapter. Their banter is hilarious, flirty, and over all fantastic. It’s friendship goals. The teasing. The love. The knowing. I don’t know how they went seventeen years without getting together. Actually, I do know. They didn’t want to ruin what they had. Didn’t want to be a crazy or douche ex. They had enough of those. That doesn’t mean they went all those years without checking the other out. Haha.

Overall...it’s one of my favorite Lauren books. It’s a slow burn which was perfect for this couple. Oliver is a brilliant mix of cocky, sweet, funny, and flirty. Summer is the fantastic mix of sassy, smart, beautiful inside and out, and sexy. Together, they made me smile, cry, get hot and bothered, and laugh. I can’t wait for the next book!! You have no idea how much.

Return to Us is the first book in the Willow Creek Valley series by Corinne Michaels. I am always excited about new series’ but I was even more excited about this. We were given very small but beautiful glimpse into this couple in her last book.

Jessica walked away from her first and only love fourteen years ago. She never went back. It was too hard to hear or speak his name. She had her reasons for leaving. And now she has her reasons for being back. To heal. She had no idea that it meant more than she ever thought. All she knew of Grayson was that he was a father. She didn’t even know if he was married or still in town. She got her answers faster than she was prepare for and now she excited and scared at the same time.

Grayson will never forget the day she walked away. He didn’t understand it but he had to move on. He had his little girl and ran one of his family’s inns. It was enough. He was happy. Then, she shows up and throws him off his axis. He didn’t want to want her. He couldn’t believe they could be an us again. She left once, she would do it again. So, he would work with her at the inn and when she was ready to go, he went let her. Easy, right?

Sure. Nobody believes that. I can’t say much more than that. I will say that I have cried in every one of Corinne’s books but never within a few pages. I knew from that point, it was going to be an emotional ride. And it was, a beautiful, heartbreaking, fun, sexy ride. I laughed. I cried. I swooned. I cried some more. I loved all the characters. His daughter...omg! She had me by my heartstrings the whole time. She is one smart and silly cookie. This series is going to be epic.

Beard in Hiding 4.5* by Penny Reid - An opposites attract romance. A bad marriage has left Diane with so many regrets but hooking up with Mr Repo (Jason) is not one of them, despite them having to keep their relationship a secret. I felt fully invested in the characters and the story and the only reason I didn’t give it 5* was that it wasn’t explained how Diane’s son would avoid trouble from the law.

Mr.Mayfair 5* by Louise Bray - A really enjoyable story. Stella is blindsided by a wedding invitation and has no intention of accepting but a friend and a hot stranger who really needs to attend the wedding, persuade her otherwise. Loved the buildup to the relationship and how they didn’t immediately fall into bed with each other. The only thing I found off-putting was that a story set in Britain with British characters had American spelling eg. “If not a check, maybe I can do you a favor”

Dear Sexy Ex-Boyfriend 4* by Lauren Blakely - Friends to Lovers/Fake Relationship. Summer writes an essay for a competition that goes viral, but not in a positive way. To try and recover the situation, Summer and best friend Oliver become fake engaged, realising along the way that their feelings for each other have always been more than just friends. An enjoyable story.

The Year We Fell Down 5* by Sarina Bowen - A cute college romance between a recently disabled girl and a temporarily incapacitated boy.

Big Ben 2* by Nana Malone - I hate books that end on a cliffhanger, I feel I have totally wasted a couple of hours of my life.

Beautifully Broken Pieces 5* by Catherine Cowles - Grief, Love, Terror. With his loving family around him, Walker has come to terms with his loss from some years before but Taylor, with no living family, has withdrawn from life and her friends. The burgeoning feelings Walker has for Taylor makes him push himself into her life and tear down her barriers but a sinister person has plans that do not include them having a HEA. Loved the characters (including the supplementary ones whose stories I can’t wait to read) and the suspense was good too.
Also downloaded and read a sweet bonus story from the author.

Return to Us 4* by Corinne Michaels - Second Chance Romance. Fear of being left/abandoned as her father left her mother leads to Jess splitting up with the love of her life. Many years later she stills regrets her decision but not enough to commit to a life in her hometown. I liked but didn’t love this story. Pages of the book dwell on how she needs to be happy in her career but the ending comes with nothing to replace her love of flying.

Tattered 5* by Devney Perry - A one night stand leaves Thea pregnant and alone. Losing her job she leaves New York and makes a life for herself and her daughter in Montana. Nearly seven years later Logan unexpectedly reappears in her life and is shocked to find out he is a father. He wants to be part of their lives but Logan’s career and family are firmly ensconced in New York, which is not a place with happy memories for Thea.

Repeat 4* by Kylie Scott - Amnesia after a mugging leaves Clementine struggling to piece her life together. Unexpectedly meeting her hostile ex and being in the dark as to why that might be, made for an interesting story. When it turns out that her mugging may not have been random, Ed insists on protecting her and proximity revives their feelings but their relationship failed once, can it survive this time?

Securing Piper 5* by Susan Stoker - Exciting and Suspenseful
The Seal team sent in to rescue Kalee Solberg and her friend, are surprised to discover Piper Johnson and three young girls hiding under the kitchen floor of a Timor-Leste orphanage. And so this riveting story begins. The reader is sucked into the escape, the fate of the orphans, the romance with a heroic Seal and finally the danger when none was expected. Loved it!

I loved Oliver and Summer's funny, sweet & steamy, friends to lovers romance! They have been best friends since they were young adults, always having each other's back. Since he needed to look more responsible for a client, they both agreed to help each other by having a fake relationship. The problem is, they have both had more than friendly feelings for each other, but were afraid to lose the best part of their life if they didn't work as a couple. But when you click so perfectly and your chemistry is that electric, how can they not ignite when they have to be more physical in public? Oliver is a sexy British lawyer who is funny, and sweet, and Summer is quirky, kind and giving. It is a great start to Michaels new small town series and I can't wait for more from Willow Creek Valley!

Big Ben: Nana Malone
I am loving Ben and Olivia's story. This is book one in a trilogy, so prepare for a big cliffhanger and the wait for the next book. I would classify this book as a slow burn read because although there is a strong pull of attraction, simmering chemistry and fiery sparks, things do not get to a physical level until well into the book. Considering the story being told this makes perfect sense and well worth the wait. The storyline is an exciting and engaging blend of drama, emotion, intensity, suspense, danger, mystery, humor, stunning twists and surprises. Once you start reading you will not be happy if you have to stop. Ben was incredibly hot and swoon worthy! I loved his humor and how he completely knew what he wanted (even if he wasn't about to admit it to anyone but himself!). I though Olivia was great to. She was capable, clever and a lot stronger than she gave herself credit for. Plus, I thought she was a realistic and relatable heroine. Together this two make a couple that fits seamlessly together. I honestly couldn't stop myself from thinking of an old 80's TV show while reading this book. I was very much getting a Scarecrow and Mrs. King vibe. Except, without the whole spy and widow angles. LOL Regardless, its combination of suspense, danger, plans to bring down the big bad, quests for vengeance, secret societies, action packed capers, sizzling attraction, banked desires, longing looks, twists, clever banter, a cast of various vile and/or suspicious characters and plenty of sweet, emotional and heat filled moments make for a romance that will have your heart pounding and leave you perched on the edge of your seat. I just can't wait to read book two, The Benefactor. I need it ASAP!!!

I think what I liked most about this fake relationship romance was that I could connect with it so easily. I mean, let's face it, we all go through those times where everything is going wrong, and you are trying desperately to convince yourself that things have to get better and yet the punches just keep coming. That is exactly the position Stella finds herself in. I'll be honest and say that initially I felt that Stella was too naïve and as such, I thought she was a bit annoying. Yet, as the story unfolded, and I got to know her better I genuinely grew to like her. She deserved better than what she was getting, and fate finally smiled on her and sent her all the perfection that was Beck. Beck was one-hundred percent ovaries exploding, be still my heart, swoon worthy deliciousness. These two were so sweet together. She was everything he wanted; he was everything she deserved but most importantly they were everything the other needed. I found that it was simply impossible not to fall in love with these two as their slow burn story played out. This was a amazing read!

This one was mostly books I didn't really like, but a few I thought were fun/easy reads.

1) Beard in Hiding by Penny Reid - from my memory this one was fun, but you probably need to know the Winston Brothers series to appreciate it (I've read a few of them so had enough knowledge to understand it). Older couple (which I liked), opposites attract sort of thing.

3) Dear Sexy Ex-Boyfriend by Lauren Blakely - also barely any memory of this one, friends to lovers I think? fairly blah

4) The Year We Fell Down by Sarina Bowen - college hockey book, but also with characters who are temporarily or permanently disabled. I remember kind of enjoying this but also finding it potentially problematic due to language the characters use about themselves. Also a smidge of cheating in it so.

5)Big Ben by Nana Malone - mafia/billionaire vibes I think? I really can barely remember it but I don't think I liked it

6) Beautifully Broken Pieces by Catherine Cowles - yeah I hated this one. Cop romance, a child who doesn't act like any kid in real life, etc. I did not enjoy it

7)Return to Us by Corinne Michaels - I had to google it, that's how little I remember it. Traumatic backstories, second chance romance. It was fine

8)Tattered by Devney Perry - I enjoyed this one, but I've got to say the MMC drove me up the wall. He was immediately like "I've only known I had a child for 4 minutes but she will move across the country to live with me - oh and her mom too". I understand that there was no way he could have known he had a kid, but that's still no reason to try to upend her entire life

9)Repeat by Kylie Scott - I did like this one. Amnesia, second chance romance. I did like that we only got one POV so we didn't know why the break up had happened, we only learned as our FMC learned

10)Securing Piper by Susan Stoker - oops read this in a day. Navy SEALS, high stakes, marriage of convenience. I was hooked. Yeah, it was definitely problematic at times but I still was engaged. I found myself actually wanting to read this whole series.

So I got this when it was free on Amazon, I don't think it's free anymore though. But I'm so glad I was able to get my hands on this box set!

There ten full length romance novels in here and I loved four of them. The other's probably weren't bad novels, BUT I couldn't get past certain tropes. I did TRY and read the ones I knew I didn't like the tropes for, but I did not finish them.

I think box sets like this really give the reader a peak of each author in a great way and makes the reader want to check out the rest of the books in the series or to check out what else the author has to offer. It should be different tropes that I didn't know I liked and it was nice to have SO many books in one spot. I definitely would purchase something like this in book form though, this is the kind version. The thought of being able to have so many books in one is really cool to me, even if the physical book is over 3000 pages *shrugs* lol

Overall I would recommend this to anyone that's wanting to find other authors and that's willing to read books outside their most loved tropes. I would like to get my hands on the first box set and see what that has to offer! Just a side note, the ones that I actually read do NOT have cliffhangers. I can't say anything about the ones I didn't finish though. But I wanted to make that known since I don't like cliffhanger romances, even if they are apart of a series.

All ten ARE within a series, but not all of them are the first of the series. Like for example, Securing Piper by Susan Stoker (last book in this set) is book three in the SEAL of Protection series. But in the blurb of novel it tells you that it's a standalone book. Some novels in the series don't state that or not, which I don't like but that's just me lol

Anyways, I did go into detail with the first two books when it comes to a review. But other than that I wanted to focus on actually reading and not trying to layout what I want to say for a review. I find that I do that a lot and it takes the fun out of reading sometimes!

5 MAGNIFICENT STARS

Return To Us is a book that left me completely gobsmacked, which in turn leads me feeling completely speechless. So it makes it hard for me to even compile the words needed to leave a review, let alone a review that will do this book justice, but I am going to give it my all.

Corrine Michaels is one of the most talented authors to EVER grace this world. Her creative side is something you don't see often, so when I get the opportunity to fall face first into HER books, I don't do it gracefully lol . My devotion is to this authors words and only this authors words can't be matched, just ask my children.

Today was my day, and it was totally devoted to Grayson and Jessica. I was in aw because of Corrine Michaels' 'Return To Me'. Grayson and Jessica's story swallowed me up and spit me out, multiple times, and I still came back for more. This author did an amazing job of great world building. The story line was incredible with an insane amount of depth that again, had an amazing amount authenticity. I was able to put myself in both the Hero and Heroines shoes, and I actually caught myself rubbing over my chest multiple times because it felt like my chest was caving in. In my opinion, in able to do that the development has to be just right, and in Return To Us the development was more than 'Just Right'. Everything just fit, but fit perfectly. When I think of the chemistry and love, all I think about is Grayson and Jessica. In every aspect of their story there was love. A love that was raw and unyielding, but a love that just sometimes was not enough.

I am a fan favorite of both the Hero and Heroine. They both showed so much strength and resilience considering the things life has thrown their way, and still they choose to keep rising above no matter how much it hurt. I loved the bond that not only they shared, but the bonds they had with their siblings and close friends. It gave sensational dialogue.

All in all, Return To Us is an unforgettable book, one that shouldn't be missed.

First of all, 10 full length books?! For zero pennies?! Complete no brainer! And the books included are amazing! Especially Return to Us by Corinne Michaels. Oh my gosh, the emotions!! They are flowing while reading this! A new series by Corinne Michaels and I’m all for it. And of course, you’re going to feel it all. Ripped apart, giddy at times, fearful at others, love overflowing, and just a sizzling connection that can’t be denied. Jessica has legit been through hell and survived, working her way back to herself. She goes home to recuperate, hiding out, trying to get back to where she was. Then she runs into her first love, the one she left 14 years ago, the love of her life. Grayson is what dreamy men are made of 😍 a heart of gold, a single dad that will make you melt, and a man that just knows how to love ❤️ they go through many trial & tribulations, both guarding their hearts, while trying to have that love again. Their story was beautiful, but have some tissues handy lol. Just sayin. I cannot wait to read more from this series. I loved this first book so much, I can’t wait for the more!!! And that’s just one of the amazing books here!

Return To Us- Review

Such an amazing start to the Willow Creek Valley Series!! This book was so much more than I imagined and I loved all the characters. I couldn't put this book down once I started!! It will definitely make you smile, feel all those emotions, swoon, and want to give them both big hugs. We briefly met Jessica in Stay for me - Arrowood Brothers #4 and I have been curious about her story since. It did not disappoint at all.

Greyson - a single dad is protective, loyal, and willing to go to any length to get things done for those he loves. He has never forgotten the one girl who stole his heart over a decade ago. Thinking he will never be with her and moving on with life. His priority is his daughter, Amelia. She was such a fun addition to the story and I adored how she loved so fiercely.

Jessica - left her small town behind and her high school sweetheart 14 years ago. Having to return after a tragic event for her recovery she is bound to see Greyson, her one regret was breaking both of their hearts. They are still full of love for the other but neither wants to go through the pain of losing each other again.

Oh my!!! I love love love Grayson and Jessica!! I am pretty sure they have become my favorite couple!!
The love and conmection these two have is amazing to read. The chemistry is off the charts with these two!! The way they have that they reconnect after all that time apart makes for such a sweet story! Plus you add in a sweet little girl that you just love and adore instantly!!

Jessica is such an independent character and you know the struggle she has with being 'stuck' in one place. But you have to listen to your heart sometimes.
Grayson being a HOT single dad and a firefighter, enough said there!!
The obstacles that they go through to be together are not easy, but their kind of love can last through anything.... Or can it??

I could not put this book down. And it was a nice bonus seeing an Arrowood!!
This book had my emotions all over the place... ALL THE FEELS with this book!!❤

Great Box Set

I wish I had taken notes as I read each book to be able to give a more detailed review, but I didn’t. I can say that each book, with the exception of one is a full length standalone story, although if there are more books in their series, it does make you want to continue on. I really enjoyed each book and since there are so many and all so different, it’s hard to say if one stands out over the others. I have read books by most of these authors before diving in to this box set. I will be reading more books from all of them in the future. If you enjoy romance, some with a little intrigue, some a little more steamy than others, but all well-written, you will totally enjoy this box set.

Repeat by Kylie Scott is a 5 star read. it's a beautiful story of love lost and then found again. I was hooked from the start.

Clem is a woman who is experiencing firsts for the second time. After being attacked and losing her memory, she doesn't know anything about herself. She trackes down her ex boyfriend to get some insights, and the drama ensues.

Ed and Clem together had me constantly wondering. What made them break up? What was past Clem thinking and feeling? Would Ed love the new Clem or always compare her to her old self? I loved how this story developed and kept me guessing til the end.

Return to Us review : Another fantastic book by Corinne Michaels. Jessica has returned to her small hometown after she has endured a traumatic event ( if you read Stay for Me you have briefly met her). When she runs into Grayson, her childhood sweetheart and love, she knows things won’t ever be the same. Grayson has tried to move on since Jessica left, but she has never really left his heart. This is an endearing, heartfelt second chance story, that pulled me in from the start. I loved watching Jessica and Grayson work through their past and find a path to their future. Grayson is also a swoony single dad. Do not miss out on this book and I can’t wait to read the other Parkerson sibling’s up coming stories.

Awesome read.

I found this kindle box set for free on Amazon. Normally, I would not download a box set that was free. But, I decided to give the box set a try, since I am familiar with some of the featured authors. I was not disappointed, the writing was great, and the story lines were believable. The only downside was their were some stories that were extremely brief, but overall this was a good read, and an excellent way to read new or familiar authors. I would recommend this digital box set for any reader of loves romance (but not the sappy, stereotypical kind of romance novels).

This book was absolutely everything!!! When Corinne said she was coming out with another series about a small town, I knew I was on board, but she blew everything I thought it was going be out of the water! I wish the next book was out yesterday just so I could continue in this world. This whole book was spectacular and Jessica and Grayson's love for each other took my breath away. Grayson is going to be very hard to beat because he just stole my heart and I don't know if he'll give it back! Jack and the rest of Grayson's brothers are going to have to work hard. I only have good things to say, the story was amazing, the characters all made me want to live in this world with them and the love story will stay with me forever!
