I've cooked this before several times so now I gotta ask -- am I making pesto wrong? From this and another source, there's this undercurrent sentiment that blending the basil et al might be the biggest blunder a single person can make outside of forgetting to breathe. This is the second time I've encountered a non-blend recipe, the first at least deigning to suggest blending as the second, inferior option, to mortar and pestle. But mincing the leaves, the garlic, and the pine nuts with a knife seems so....

The fact that Quifrey has used a blender (wind magic) before, but hand cuts these ingredients gives off the impression that I would not be allowed to cook in his Atelier if I thought I could just blend all the ingredients together.

OK, I double checked this recipe, because I was self-doubting that he minced all of them, and it doesn't even use parmesan?? Not even a nutritional yeast substitution. That pesto is gonna taste like garlicky grass what are you doing. The fact Quifrey uses cheese in the stupid caprese within the same chapter makes this realization worse.

This is going to haunt me oh my god. Maybe I actually wouldn't want to be invited to his Witch Hat Kitchen.

Ce spin off fait tellement de bien, surtout considérant l'aspect sombre que prend la série originale. Je vis pour la found family de ces personnages et le fait que Olugio et Kieffrey soient basiquement un vieux couple s'occupant de leur 4 petites

This is a wonderfully charming series and it's great to see the English translation finally embracing that. What a remarkable difference it makes when Qifrey and Olruggio are allowed to say each other's names, and their thoughtful or playful moments are translated as such. This volume in particular is a lot of fun and all of the characters have some great moments. The recipes too look delightful and I can't wait to try some of them.

The translation is not perfect though. Olruggio's line at the end of chapter 30 *Should* be about how Qifrey should rely on him more to help out with the cooking as "they're finally living under the same roof," but I guess that's still too gay for Kodansha USA.

Regardless, it's miles ahead of the censored and milquetoast choices made for volumes 1 & 2, and I can only hope that one day those volume translations will be revisited and more accurate versions will be released. This series is incredibly sweet and the characters are thoughtful and considerate. It deserves a translation that doesn't try to minimize that, nor pretend that adults cooking at midnight aren't drinking alcohol.

On ne peut nier que ce manga est un peu redondant. On est toujours sur le même schéma dans chaque tome mais personnellement, ça ne me gêne absolument pas. Je suis très fan du manga de base, L’atelier des sorciers est d’ailleurs un de mes mangas préférés. Donc retrouver les différents personnages et cet univers si chère à mon coeur me fait vraiment plaisir. Surtout que ça permet de mieux apprécier l’attente du prochain tome haha. Je prends beaucoup de plaisir à lire chaque tome de ce petit spin off hyper sympathique à lire. Et j’ai déjà hâte d’avoir la suite.

Dans ce troisième tome, on retrouve les élèves dont les méninges sont mis à rude épreuve, tout comme leur corps en demande d’énergie et de sucre. Les deux sorciers, Kieffrey et Olugio, vont s’atteler à la tâcher pour préparer une ribambelle de mets originaux pour satisfaire les becs sucrés de leur maisonnée. Une éclatante patatrésors, d’étonnants marrons-migrateurs ou encore des dépaysantes bananes du foyer.. Nombreuses seront les dégustations pour Coco et ses camarades. Même débordés ou fatiguées, les maîtres de l’Atelier veillent sur la croissance de leurs apprenties, toujours en s’aidant mutuellement.

Sans surprise, j’ai adoré ce troisième tome. Comme je le dis plus haut, c’est toujours le même schéma, chaque chapitre reprend une situation et nous propose une nouvelle recette. D’ailleurs, à chaque fois que je lis un tome de ce manga, je meurs de faim après ma lecture. Les recettes que font Kieffrey et Olugio me font clairement saliver! Elles donnent terriblement envie, dommage qu’on ne peut pas les reproduire vu les ingrédients qu’il faut haha. Ce que j’aime aussi avec ce manga, c’est le fait de continuer à découvrir des choses dans cet univers. Comme par exemple les marrons-migrateurs ou même la fausse-fripée. C’est tellement intéressant et enrichissant. En soit, ce spin off n’apporte rien à l’histoire principale, mais ça nous laisse un petit bonus qui est très plaisant.

J’attends déjà la suite avec beaucoup d’impatience. J’aime tant l’ambiance paisible qui se dégage de ce manga. Ça nous fait passer un excellent moment, ça nous détend complètement. On découvre de nouvelles choses sur l’univers du manga, surtout du côté des aliments en vrai. Kieffrey et Olugio, j’aime tellement ces personnages, j’adore les voir cuisiner avec les filles, ce sont de vrais moments de complicité qui nous fait du bien. J’ai hâte d’avoir le prochain tome et voir toutes les bonnes recettes que ces deux là vont encore nous concocter!

Another adorable manga cookbook.

It is such a bummer that these are in black and white. It talks about certain foods that sound awesome but look exactly like they should, but on the cover they look amazing. Like, the trovertubers are supposedly sparkly, but then they're cooked in another way and are even prettier? But it's in black and white so it looks the same. Or the lemons are supposed to be special but just look like lemons. On the cover (of book 2) they are different colors. I think it's a huge drawback to all of the drawings. It happens a lot in manga vs anime. But in these food ones where the whole point is the food, color really does make all the difference.

Aside from that, if you liked book one and two you will like this one. There's some story development for Coco and the other female students, along with a little growth for the adult mentors. The recipes are fun and some are very creative. It's just a fun fluff read for when you're feeling down...or hungry.

El mundo mágico de este manga vuelve en un nuevo tomo, lleno de aventuras emocionantes y recetas deliciosas. Me parece admirable la creatividad del mangaka al crear este mundo fantástico y maravilloso.

Me encanta cómo las niñas descubren las comilonas nocturnas de Quifrey y Oru, es un momento divertido y lleno de humor. Los libros de cocina son uno de mis géneros favoritos, y este manga es adorable. Me gustaría volver a leerlo y probar algunas de las recetas que se presentan.

En resumen, este manga es una lectura recomendada para aquellos que buscan una historia emocionante, con personajes carismáticos y un mundo mágico por explorar. ¡Una verdadera delicia para los amantes de la fantasía y la cocina!

Le doy un 4,75. Creo que es el que más he disfrutado hasta la fecha. Es justo lo que necesitaba: algo fresquito, tierno y divertido. Aunque la trama sea episódica, me encanta que hagan algun que otro guiñito a la serie principal y que sea vea un pelín de la evolución de los personajes. En este tomo me ha gustado especialmente Agete, y creo que nadie debería dudar de la relación entre Orugio y Quifrey. CASADÍSIMOS.

There's nothing like the comfort of Witch Hat Atelier and Witch Hat Atelier Kitchen. The girls of the atelier and their two keepers, Qifrey and Olruggio, indulge in the bounty around them to create delicious treats morning, noon, and night whether Coco finds a plant hanging on the side of a cliff that looks wilted as a means of safety or clams that have colorful shells or all the ways that you can take tea and make it fancy.

if comfort was a manga, it would totally be this spin-off series. baking some of the sweet recipes from the series is still on my bucket list!

I love all these fantasy world equivalents to our food, there's some real creative choices
One thing that's a bit odd is that they split the suggestions page in 2? In the first 2 volumes they were all at the end but here it's in the middle and near end which is a bit inconvenient

While constantly being told the steps of the recipe can get repetitive, I still really like the atmosphere the manga sets. All four of the girls are adorable and I love seeing Qifrey and Olly being like dads to them.
