McCutcheon Family #11

Montana Reunion

Rate this book
A year and a half after Chaim McCutcheon was essentially left at the altar—for reasons he’s yet to discover—one steadfast aim remains firm in his mind and heart. Never again. He left his home and family, and all he held dear, in Rio Wells, Texas with the intention not to return until every nuance of Emmeline Jordan had been burned from his soul by the blazing Arizona sun. He’s adjusted to his solitary life on his rustic desert ranch, so different from the sprawling Rim Rock in Texas. Forgetting Emmeline may take some doing, but time is one thing Chaim has in spades.

Can an invite to Y Knot for a surprise family gathering for his Uncle Flood entice Chaim to change his decision and reunite with his family, who are also journeying to Montana? His pride and his walled-off heart say no chance of that. Perhaps the unexpected appearance of Tessa Webb, a determined young woman on a quest of love, might do the trick.

Book Eleven of the heart-warming, award-winning McCutcheon Family series sees the two McCutcheon clans finally come together under one roof for a long-awaited family reunion filled with passion, adventure, and the surprise of a lifetime.

TEXAS AND MONTANA MCCUTCHEONS REUNION

I was so excited when I learned there would be an 11th McCutcheon Family story. A reunion, how perfect. Especially for brothers who haven't seen each other in decades. Cousins who have never met each other. But this story also has surprises.

The story will involve both the Texas and Montana McCutcheon family and a surprise birthday party for Flood, arranged by Claire with the help of their children. Winston and his wife, Winnie, and their children will travel from Texas to Montana. They are excited when they learn their son, Chaim, will leave Arizona and join them.

The story will have Chaim selling his place in Arizona and ready to board a stagecoach to meet up with his family in Waterloo. What a shock when a young woman approaches him with a baby—and has a story to tell him. One that will involve him and his past. How will his family react when they meet up with Chaim in Waterloo? How will he explain Tessa and Michaela? Will a quiet marriage in name only be the answer or lead to more questions? What happens when the secret is revealed?

“Truth finds a way of sneakin’ out. That’s why it’s always best to be upfront right from the get-go.”

The story is part mystery and suspense, including pieces of the past that caused pain and heartache but new beginnings that could lead to a bright and happy future. It is families reconnecting, and how precious that can be. It is moving forward, making the best of a situation, and accepting that all is in God’s perfect timing. Treating others as you want to be treated and making each day count.

“I can’t change the past. And given the chance, I’m not sure I’d want to. Because if I did, you and I would not meet, and we wouldn’t have Michaela. I do feel a little guilty about the happiness I’ve found. All I can say is what I feel now. At this moment. And that’s about you and me, not me and a memory.”

“Not wanting to embarrass himself, he leaned back, cuddling Michaela close. Something incredible had happened today. What Tessa feared the most had transpired—the Jordans had arrived with condemning words. But, in doing so, the truth had set them free.”

My husband and I enjoyed the McCutcheon Family Series during long travels on Audible. When I told him at the end of book ten that that was the end of the series, he was so sad to hear the series had ended. I have learned that Montana Reunion will be available in Audible soon, and we will enjoy listening to it and reacquainting ourselves with the characters.

As in the words of my husband, Steve, "Carolyn Fyffe has a way of telling a story that makes the reader or listener feel like they are witnessing it. She makes her characters come to life."

The 11th book of the series is a family reunion where we finally see all the Texas and Montana McCutcheons together, along with most of the characters from previous books. The romance centers around Chaim McCutcheon, who was jilted in a previous book but finds happiness and a daughter. It was really fun to catch up with all the different family members and their friends.

Chaim McCutcheon left home almost 2 years ago because the woman he loved broke his heart. He ended up in Texas working his own ranch before deciding to go home for his uncle’s surprise birthday party. After selling everything he owned, just before he boarded the train, a woman approaches him with a surprise that will change his life forever.

Montana Reunion is just what the title says, a reunion between a large and loving family who haven’t seen each other for years. Claire planned a surprise birthday party for her husband, Flood which had relatives from all over reuniting. Everything turned out so great until a big secret comes to light. However, in true McCutcheon loyalty they stand together to help one of their own.

It was so fun to go back and catch up on the Montana and Texas McCutcheon’s, being able to see what all these characters have been up to since each couple got their happy ever after. This author has such a talent for description in her story telling, the reader feels like they are riding the train along with the family, or viewing the acres and acres of the ranches and towns. It is so very easy for the reader to imagine the outfits of the people, the scenery of the time as well as the ease the reader gets to know each and every character and their different personalities. Each and every book in this series is a gem to enjoy. I highly recommend Montana Reunion as well as the previous books in this series. This author is an automatic read for me with each new book and she never disappoints!

Another great McCutcheon story!! I loved seeing Chaim again but also seeing everyone! The family dynamics are great to see and the entertaining stories were just wonderful. The story is full of love and laughter, danger and despair. Couldn’t put it down!

Chaim is living with heartbreak. With Emmeline’s betrayal he is cut deep and doesn’t think he will ever love again. But he sees a way to break the despair he’s in. With his uncle Flood’s surprise birthday up in Y Knot the whole family is getting together for the first time. And with his brother Dustin and his family going he decides to leave Arizona and his miserable life behind. Maybe clarity will come in Montana.

Tessa is running ragged. Traveling all over God’s creation with a baby is no laughing matter and she is exhausted! But she has to find Chaim and tell him! Once he knows he will have to take her in. If he’s as good a man as Emmeline said then there’s no way he will turn her and the baby away.

Little does Chaim know his life is about to change forever. For the better or for the worse is yet to be determined. Tessa and baby Michaela had no choice abut to travel with him to Montana and the Heart of the Mountains after what she had told him. But can he be sure?? Is it true?? How can they pull this off??

With the family reunion in Montana, it takes some of the heat off of Chaim and Tessa. But can they keep this charade up?? Will Chaim accept them into his heart as she has him?? Or will he take the baby and leave her broken hearted??
Will Chaim finally get over his broken heart? Can he see what is right in front of him?
Can’t wait to see more from the McCutcheons!

I am so happy…all my favorites in one book. I have waited for this book. The McCutcheon family is one of my favorite book families.

In this book Montana Reunion we get to find out what happened to Chaim McCutcheon. Last we heard he was trying to ease his broken heart in Arizona, after being jilted by his fiancé, Emmeline.

The fifieth birthday of his Uncle Flood is the perfect reason for a McCutcheon reunion. Both the Texas McCutcheons and the Montana McCutcheons would all surprise his Uncle Flood in Y Knot, Montana.

I will not spoil anything, but let me tell you….you will not believe all of the twists and turns poor Chaim must endure before he finally gets his happily ever after.

While Chaim works through his feelings about all the new things he is finding out we get to find out what has happened in the lives of his brother and sister and his Montana cousins.

I love Caroline Fyffe’s easy to read writing style and her family sagas are always filled with warm tender moments and fraught with problem after problem the characters must overcome. The locations and historical elements have all been researched extensively.
If you like romantic, historical, fiction (Yes, it really is a genre haha) you will love this book.

In the acknowledgments of Montana Reunion, Caroline Fyffe wrote: “What a joy for me to be back in Y Knot, Montana, with the McCutcheons, as well as with the McCutcheons from Rio Wells, Texas, visiting all the people I’ve come to love!” I feel the same way. I loved the story of Chaim McCutcheon finding his new life when Miss Tessa Webb catches him at the train station with a very special delivery. True to life, this story has twists, & turns, and Chaim has choices to make. Secrets and past mistakes could ruin not only his future but also those that he loves most.
It was a joy to visit the whole McCutcheon clan and in the end family means everything.
I loved this sweet story and look forward to reading it again. I missed a few books in the series, but I was able to follow along and enjoy the story no problem.
I would recommend this book to all who enjoy a sweet historical romance.
I received an advance copy of this book in order to give an honest review.

This is the best yet in both McCutcheon series, the first in the Montana McCutcheon series and the Texas McCutcheon’s.
This is a fantastic story of both series where they get together in Montana for Flood’s birthday and it’s a big surprise.
But there are others that will get a big surprise.
Too much fun is going on in this story that at times it’s hard to keep straight and one of the brothers in the Texas has a big surprise of his own that will make all the fun be fantastic.
This story has all the makings of a great Montana and Texas western movie and I hope someone will make that movie someday, as I think it is that good.
Loved it so much I think because it is about the entire McCutcheon family from Texas to Montana. Awesome story.
I wanted to write this review because of my conviction of the worth of the story mixing one family in one place from two states. It is really worth the read. This is my honest opinion.

If you’re one of those people who don’t want a book to end, you’ll love the McCutcheon series by Caroline Fyffe. This is the 11th book in that series, and we are updated on the lives of all the Texas and Montana McCutcheons we’ve come to love! Montana Reunion lets us in on the troubled life of Chaim, one of the Texas McCutcheons, who has spent the past 18 months in Arizona, nursing a broken heart. Chaim has decided it’s time to return to his family roots, beginning with a trip to Montana for a surprise reunion with all the McCutcheons. The surprises begin before Chaim even boards the stagecoach and over the next two weeks, we see his transformation that finally leads him back to his Texas home.

It’s wonderful when you see a reunion book not only as a collection of past characters coming to life again but also as a chance to see old friends and make new ones as well. Y Knot and Rio Wells have been a source of entertainment for many years and finally having both families together was beyond exciting. True to Mrs. Caroline Fyffe this book is full of surprises and revelations, drama and excitement and of course always love. A love so strong between characters that everything else is small in comparison. Brothers reunite and cousins meet for the first time, old loves are put to rest and new ones come to light in this wonderful new adventure in Y knot. Don’t miss out on this wonderful book.

I loved Montana Reunion. It truly was like a reunion with the dear friends. The McCutcheon are such a wonderful, lively, caring, and fun family. There is never a dull moment. This book definitely lived up to what I feel is the McCutcheon name. There were so many touching moments and nail-biting suspense that I could not put the book down. I adore Tessa and of course Michaela. I loved getting to read the point of view from so many of my favorite McCutcheons.

If you have not read the previous McCutcheon books you can still enjoy this one alone but honestly the characters and stories are so wonderful you will want to read the whole series. 😉

The Texas McCutcheons set out to Y Knot, Montana to attend Flood McCutcheon’s birthday party making it a reunion of large proportions.
Chaim, one of the Texans, has been absent his family about a year and a half living and ranching a small spread in Arizona. He has been nursing a broken heart. His fiancée Emmeline, left him to travel home to Boston to her “ailing” father never to return.
Chaim decides to sell off his ranch and travel to the reunion but on the day of departure a young woman shows up claiming the baby she has traveled with is his and Emmeline’s daughter.
A wonderful story to carry on the McCutcheon series.

It’s Spring in Montana as the Texas McCutcheon’s gather to head north for a long-planned family reunion to celebrate a surprise birthday party. There’s angst at traveling with infants and toddlers as well as the older family members. With wagons, stages and the train involved in 1888, it wasn’t easy or necessarily safe. I loved the interaction of family and friends as they met after long absence as well as the tears, hugs and laughter. By the end of the storyline, I wiped away tears as I was reminded of times and things I’ve had, I’ve loved and have lost. It’s a wonderful book.

Loved, loved, loved!!!! The McCutcheons are such a fabulous and strong family! So glad that Chaim and Tessa got their story! I loved watching Chaim's burden lighten as his love for Tessa grew. The support and love they received from all family members is heart-melting. Tessa's courage and strength of character are breathtaking. Getting a few insights into the lives of other McCutcheons is an extra bonus in this book. There is just so much love in this big family. ❤️

I absolutely loved The McCutcheon Reunion. It was like checking in on old friends. The writing by this author always flows and is so enjoyable to read. This book had everything in it you could want in a historical fiction/family friendly novel. The story had adventure, suspense, love and family. If I could, I would rate this book a 10!!!! I recommend this book 1000%. I was given this book as an ARC and my review is entirely my own. I loved it!!!!!!!!!!

A visit with old friends

I totally enjoyed this book! We got to go back and find out what all the characters have been up too, as well as meet some new ones. The plot was good as usual, always a few plot twists to keep you reading! Her books always suck me right in and I can't stop till I finish. This book can be read as a stand alone, but I recommend reading the whole series. You won't be disappointed.

Loved this! It's the story of the 2 main McCutcheon families coming together for Flood's 50th birthday in Montana, along with Chaim's chance for love. The McCutcheons from Texas come to the big reunion. Flood, from Montana, & his brother Winston, from Texas, haven't seen each other for 30 years!
Claim left home nearly 2 years ago due to heartbreak. He decides to travel to the reunion after selling his ranch. He gets a huge surprise along the way.
I also liked the way everyone helped Chaim & his bride, Tessa, with getting things for Baby Michela.
Loved this story!
I received a free ARC which had no influence on my feelings about the book. Thank you Caroline for another great story.

4 and 1/2 Stars

Wow! This book was the best book this author has written since Montana Dawn. The reunions between the various family members were very poignant and made me shed a few tears. And the babies where all delightful.
Some of the corny romantic language between the two main characters is the reason for the 4 and 1/2 stars.
Still it was a wonderful read and I enjoyed it immensely.

I have read the entire series. I have loved getting acquainted with this whole family. I just finished Montana Reunion. Caroline outdid herself. I couldn't put it down. It was such fun to reacquaint myself with this wonderful family and all the new happenings. Caroline you really have a gift to keep readers enthralled and invested in the welfare of your characters! I highly recommend, not only this book, but the 10 that preceded it.

Family Reunion

I love my family having a get together. My father is one of twelve children. Always the high point of my summer. Unfortunately as years pass the group becomes smaller and some don't attend at all. This book brings you to a wonderful time in life. We should all have these.

Great read!!! Montana Reunion

This has by far been the best book of the series! I have one left and can not wait to see what is coming. I have read a lot of cowboy family series but I think the McCutcheon family is the ones I have enjoyed the most. The books are well written and don't leave you wanting. Thank you, Caroline Fyffe, for hours of entertainment.

Can’t get enough of these books!

I just love the stories the author writes. Each one better than the last. I especially liked the twister that blew through the town. I do wish the author would print a character list in the beginning of the book. With so many McCutcheon’s it is hard to remember who is from what family. Would recommend any of her books without a doubt.

reason for low score

I find it difficult to follow these families when the story changes with nearly every chapter. Now in book 11, I felt some constructive criticism might be helpful.

One example in this book: Where did Chaim and Tessa get married?
Another, who is the older brother of?
