This book was absolutely ridiculous.

First and foremost, it's not much different than being on a pre-planned diet like Jenny Craig or Nutrisystem. The only difference is you make all the foods yourself. The author/nutritionist assumes that you cannot lose weight on your own accord so she plans out all of your meals for life in under 250 pages. That's right, sick of one dish? Swap out for another. Don't get crazy and make your own non-prescribed meals. She says in three separate sections of the book that you can swap out say, chicken for turkey or tofu but don't deviate. You'll be eating these foods for the rest of your L.I.F.E. (her words and acronyms--and yes, she sees this as a huge plus).

There are a lot of dont's in this book, so many that it's necessary to repeat them in Steps 1-3. Actually, much of the book is repetitive with testimonials thrown in to break up the monotony. While I'm sure lots of people with little time or inclination lose weight on this plan, it's just not for thinking people. And it's especially not for foodies or those who have issues with authority.

Simplistic? Generic? Didn't see much here I hadn't seen in more depth and with better research in other books. The only thing I really took away from this was the line that says time will pass either way, so you might as well start now and perhaps be lighter in a few months to a year from now, rather than staying the same weight because you didn't even bother trying. Sure, that's the idea behind all dieting books, but none of the others I've read have put it quite that bluntly.

In order to actually follow this book, I would need to own the book but reading through it at home did inspire me and give me ideas. I am tempted to buy it because I really like the format and her ideas.

This book had some helpful hints, but I just wasn't willing to throw out all recipes and change every single meal for my entire family. Some good ideas though, both as far as how to reduce sugar intake and reduce starch consumption.

Reading this one for class. So far it's pretty basic and repetitive. Not worth the money.

There are a lot of diet books out there but when you open and start to read many things are not practical. THIS is practical, simple to start the minute you open up to the first page.

Reread this from time to time to get back in line. Great recipes, just not enough variety so I moved onto her newer texts. Love it,

It has some good ideas for meals but I don't eat red meat...
Still, I'm gonna try some recipes.
