From the bestselling author of The Essential Instant Pot Cookbook Coco Morante--a one-stop cookbook for 100 foolproof recipes for the Instant Pot and/or the Air Fryer Oven. Authorized by Instant Brands.
The Instant KitchenCookbook combines two of today's most popular kitchen appliances: the Instant Pot and the Air Fryer. By using both, you can cut down on time spent watching a pot, reduce cleanup, and have your dinner ready faster than ever. These two appliances make cooking easier, and they're also much more convenient than cooking on the stove or in a traditional oven. The Instant Pot is great for slow cooked meat, stews, and soups, but is also perfect for making rice, grains, yogurts, and even desserts. The Air Fryer is perfect for roasting crispy vegetables, baking with conduction heat, and of course making healthy versions of your favorite fried foods. With chapters for breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, and the occasional special treat, the globally inspired recipes will be adaptable to everybody's tastes, but still easy to prepare. Every recipe will have dairy-free, gluten-free, and vegetarian options, so everyone can enjoy them.

Overall, this cookbook, for me personally, was disappointing. I was so excited to get some new recipes for my pressure cooker and air fryer when I got it from the library. However, a lot of the recipes, though not hard, have a lot of strange ingredients and unique styles. In reading through the whole cookbook, there were only a few recipes I even wanted to try that I thought my family and kids would like. So, it's probably more, in my opinion, a cookbook for more fancy-types, or people that like unusual taste and newness. I will try the few I marked and maybe update this post, but definitely not as exciting for me.
Thank you to NetGalley, Coco Morante, and Harper Collin’s for an eARC of this cookbook!
Wow, there is such a wide range of dishes in this one! Everything is easy to make, none of the ingredients are super expensive, and a lot of it is stuff you likely have on hand already (though my husband worked in kitchens so maybe I’m over generalizing). I am always looking for new meals that are easy, well balanced, and delicious. This cook book definitely hits that mark! I especially loved the grocery list provided in one page, and a “set” meal plan. I have already tried one of the recipes in my excitement and can’t wait to try more. These dishes are just perfect for meal prepping lunches and there are even recipes for breakfast. This will be my new go to when I’m looking to mix it up. I would say the main downside is that some of the recipes require the use of multiple appliances, which is kind of annoying as far as counter space and clean-up.
Not what I would have expected from Coco Morante. Ingredients were often vegetarian or vegan subs for traditional ones so more of a health-food conscious cookbook, and more expensive ingredients too. Also the recipes were very involved in regard to switching from IP to the Instant Vortex Oven (or one of the other Instant oven types, with occasional use for just an air fryer or the IP air fryer lid. Luckily for me I have the oven too but if you don't the book would be wasted on you. Also the time to make any of these things is pretty long so not a weeknight dinner sort of thing, even the simpler recipes, and then the cleanup too. I do like that each recipe has photos and proper settings and times and what you need to do all spelled out unlike many other books. However if you wanted to sub in real bacon and not use seitan in a recipe, for example, you'd be out of luck.
The Instant Kitchen Cookbook lives up to its name! Fast, easy recipes with a lot of variety for today's busy cook. With great information on stocking your pantry with reasonable staple items, you can cook anything in this book, becaue Coco shows you how to simply do some meal prep for fast weekday nights. I enjoyed the mixes for seasoning blends for Jo-jo potatoes, Taco seasoning, without a foil packet and a lovely recipe for tartar sauce to name just a few. With these recipes you can definitely eat out less, and enjoy home cooked meals, three times a day, seven days a week. Check this book out at your favorite bookseller and give your meal prep a new spin for a new year.
This cookbook is a very good guide to Air Fryer and Instant Pot friendly recipes.
The recipes listed have a basic flavor profile but that can always be enhanced by the individual cook based on their ethnic or preferred flavor palette. For example, I intend to modify these recipes to give them a more Pakistani flavor, so the sky is the limit when it comes to enhancements!
Otherwise, the book is a very good and handy guide to have in the kitchen, especially on days when you’re feeling stumped about what to cook.
I found it helpful with using either the instant pot or the air fryer for the many of the recipes. They are definitely a faster way of cooking and cost effective. The illustrations were nicely done. It was a surprise to see the prior rating. If you have and use these appliances, this cookbook would be a good read.
I want to use the air fryer to simplify my cooking now that I am alone, after cooking for more than 50 years and at one point for 8 people in my family.
These recipes are too fussy for me and very unappealing. Why would I use the air fryer to make boiled eggs or steel cut oats, when they are made faster on the stove? Will donate the book.
The instant kitchen has fun recipe to try. I especially loved the spice blends and easy no cook preps. I have not tried out all the recipes but reading through them they all sound like quick easy meals for a busy day. I especially love the different vinaigrette recipes! I am so bad with dough but I cannot wait to try out these recipes too. Thank you for this arc!
I didn’t love this cookbook. It has chapters like breakfast, snacks, etc.. Recipes are for either an air fryer or a pressure cooker. I wish it was depressed by appliance and then by chapters. There are a lot of photos but not of every recipe. I’ll try a few recipes but this is not a keeper cookbook for me.
Nicely done book with beautiful pictures. But the recipes were not very appealing and they didn't really appear to save much time, which was the pull of looking at this cookbook. I found two recipes in the entire book I'd like to make.
