I'm still reading the book, I haven't finished yet.
These series started out so good. But, with each book, the storyline and characters progressively worsened.
I started reading because I really liked the concept of the storyline, and the whole idea that a woman was working, or fighting to work, in the ridiculously sexist, and misogynistic society of the 19th century. And she ends up working for one of the richest, misogynistic tyrant. Lily's, the (female) protagonist, personality and drive to be independent was really great for a 15-16-year-old-me.
But as I was going through the books again. while cowardly procrastinating a particularly difficult politics assignment, how absurdly the author has portrayed feminism.
Lily constantly says things like 'I am a strong independent woman. I hate men. I would never be with a man because I am a feminist'. This is so disgusting to me, because this kind of portrayal of feminism is what drives people away from feminism. If you are really interested in portraying a feminist character, please have the courtesy to do so in a proper manner. Do you realize how many times I have to clarify that feminism is gender equality- meaning equal rights and treatment of women and men?
Furthermore, Lily's character grows dumber and she seems to become more dependent rather than independent. She is constantly portrayed as the inferior character, when the point is, to make them equal.
Then there is Rikkard Ambrose. He was a mesmerizing and devilishly charming character for my 15-year-old self. Which is so so so disgusting. He is stoic af and displays literally no emotions. His only display of emotion is ‘little finger twitching’. Why why why are we praising and glorifying an unemotional character? Men and boys already have enough of a hard time talking about their feelings, now we are romanticizing this shit. He is constantly described as ‘granite-faced’. WHAT. THE. FUCK. His face is literally always emotionless, but somehow, Lily is able to read *all* his emotions through his fucking eyes.

The worst part about this is that he showed a lot more emotions in the first 2 books. More in the first, than the second. There was this one scene in the ‘In the Eye of the Storm’, where this dude didn’t even sweat. It’s one thing to not show emotions at all, it’s a whole different matter if the dude isn’t even capable of physical human reactions. I can’t tell you how much this aggravates me. In the first book, he had them, he flinched when Lily did some things, he even went as far as jerking away and yelping ‘Oww’, when Lily slapped him. He smiled and laughed when Lily got drunk. He showed emotions. Which is NATURAL for all human beings INCLUDING MEN! Not to be crude, but I’m afraid that the punchline at the end of the book would be that Ambrose is AI in the 19th century. Can you imagine? Especially after the events in ‘Silence Breaking’
Then there’s the whole thing about his possessiveness. His excessive possessiveness is a prime example of a toxic partner. His high-level of jealousy is disgusting, toxic, unhealthy and NOT ROMANTIC. Stop. Romanticizing. Toxic. Behaviour.
Constantly manipulating your partner is *not romantic*

Actually, with all that’s going on, it’s probably fitting.
These books seem like they are baiting with the whole concept and ideology of encouraging ‘feminism’, when it’s, in fact, promoting toxic gender roles.
I know that this is a historical romance fiction novel(s), and I get the need to be historically accurate. But I refuse to believe that, even in the 19th century- especially in the 19th century- men were that emotionless. I think men were probably more emotional back then- I mean they got their feelings hurt if they weren’t given the opportunity to be ‘gentlemanly’.
I am not saying that the author is a bad writer. He is a good writer, but it feels like he was trying to assert a certain personality for the characters and ended up royally fucking up. He has restrained his characters so much, to the point that instead of developing, they seem to be decaying. Worsening. Whatever is the opposite of character development.
This storyline had great potential, but now we’re just dragging it on to appease 12-16-year-old girls. And they aren’t particularly getting a good example of a ‘good relationship’.
So, author, I hope you do better, and take this as constructive criticism.

This series was a journey, it was one of the best things I’ve ever read in my life. Finishing it, even though it only took a week, is so bittersweet. I’m happy and I’m also crying because we’ve been through so much with Ambrose and Lilly but now it’s all over. And they’ve grown so much it feels like I’ve known them for my whole life. Oh to love someone as much as Ambrose loves her. I’m going to miss their whole world, all their friends and family and everything about them, so much.
I know I’ll be back, soon.

As always, in this novel like in the previous installments of the Storm and Silence saga, this novel combines wit with romance and familial/work relationships, all held together by a complex heroine trying to find independence in a patriarchal, Victorian world. Although this final novel in the saga is yet to be completed, I highly recommend it, along with the rest of the series, to anyone who enjoys historical romance, strong female characters (who have bigger concerns than their marriage prospects), and bitting humour. This series is perfect for anyone who loves female characters who don't take no for an answer and stand up for what they believe in despite the barriers in their path.

I wish I could give this book less than a 1. I suffered through weekly installments of this story for MONTHS because I’d already invested so much time into these characters that I just NEEDED to know what would happen to them. (Mostly, after their painfully slow burn romance, I finally wanted to see Lilly and Mr. Ambrose get married.)
I’m disappointed by how dragged out everything was and that with so much time to wrap everything up, I still feel like the actual ending was rushed.

It's getting tedious. Feels like story is dragging with nonsense crap/fight between Rickkard and Lilly.

Loved this book series. I would love to read anything and everything if the author ever decides to continue with these characters. Lilly has truly been one of my favorite characters ever and her amazing humor and way of looking at life will always make me smile. That girl is truly crazy and fantastic. Love her!!!

It really is over. Some days I really thought I'd only give this book 3 stars or less but I waited 2.5 years for this and in the end it's a wattpad story and it was a really good one - so Robert Thier deserves 5 stars.

oh. my. god. I CANNOT BELIEVE I ACTUALLY JUST FINISHED THIS SERIES. i’ve been crying for the past 6 chapters. i’m NEVER gonna get over this series. lillian linton will always be my fav female main character, she’s a fucking icon, a feminist and believes in what’s right, i love her so much. rikkard ambrose is a fucking LEGEND. i love this man with all my heart, even tho he made a couple mistakes and acted like an ass a lot he’s still easily my favorite main male character on wattpad, im gonna miss his sea colored eyes and his arctic staring, and all the silence. captain carter- i cant even i love him so so so so much it’s unbelievable. when the book confirmed adaira and carter end up together 😭 let’s just say i’ve never been happier, carter deserves the absolute WORLD and i mean it. adaira is also a complete QUEEN i’ve never loved a sister so much. i’m gonna miss patsy, flora, and eve, amazing friends. amy, cora, and jenny were absolute badass and i’ve never been prouder of all of them. believe it or not i’m gonna seriously miss dangledick, sorry i’ll say dangliesh cause it’s the last time HAHA but i’m gonna miss that asshóle, oh my fúcking god KARIM IM GONNA MISS HIM SO MUCH. karim deserves the WORLD. the absolute WORLD. best bodyguard they could ever ask for, i’m gonna miss him fighting with lilly and calling her sahiba 🥺 he’s an angel i still ship him and patsy 🥰 UNCLE BUFFORD OHMYGOD i’m gonna seriously miss that legend. ella and edmund the extremely cringe in love couple will also be missed 🥺🥰 i hope i didn’t forget anyone. but wow i can’t believe it’s over. i found out a 7th book is coming out so THANK GOD we’ll be getting more lilly and amby. i don’t wanna stop typing cause it’s gonna mean i actually finished it 😭i started this series on july 31st and ohmygod i’ve never had a better month. it took me 24 days to finish all 6 books. storm and silence, in the eye of the storm, silence is golden, silent breaking, hunting for silence, and finally storm of bells. i’m gonna miss it so so so much. these characters have a very very special place in my heart. i’m excited cause i will be buying all the books for christmas, so i’ll be rereading this in a couple months anyways!!!!

The long awaited wedding of Rikkard Ambrose and Lillian Linton was finally here. The most unusual yet perfect couple. But the journey was not smooth whatsoever. All the family members along with the bride and groom finally left for the wedding to Rick's manor. Lilly, with the devious mind of hers won the heart of the villagers. However, danger still followed them threatening their happiness. But together they made sure nothing came between the way for them to become one. The wedding was perfect in their own way.
Honestly, I'm so happy for Rick and Lilly. I'm so looking forward to seeing them in married life. Can't wait to find out what's gonna happen next. Moving forward, I just love how Rikkard was learning to be more expressive and romantic. Granted it was slow. But he was changing and evolving for the better. So was Lillian. I think she was becoming more devious knowing she held a lot of power in her hand now including a certain richest magnet.😉 It was so hilarious to see the shock on 'the people who hated Lilly' face when they learned about her wedding to Rick. Lmfao! And when Lilly invited Amy and her friends along with her previous suitors just to annoy Rick. Dead!😂 I think I've grown a soft spot for the skinflint uncle of Lilly's. He actually cared and loved her. Aw! Adorable!
Excuse my gushing, I just loveeeeee this series soooo much. The characters are unlike any other I've ever seen before. They're just awesome. The plot is slow but way too enjoyable. I highly encourage people to give this series a chance.

I loved this series so much and I cannot believe it's the end. Thank God Sir Rob said he is considering doing something more with my favourite characters.
There is no Male lead like Mr. Rikkard Ambrose. In all the books I've read before, none would even come close.
And Lily was his perfect counterpart.

After reading every book and waiting every week for a new chapter to come out, I feel like it was anti-climatic. Really disappointed at the ending. After all that waiting and anticipation .... It was basically pointless. I expected so much more.

I've been following this series since we first met Mr Ambrose on Wattpad back in 2016
This series started off REALLY good but with each book started to feel like it dragged on quite a bit. The 'filler' chapters increased and the plot dragged on. I still really liked the series but think it could've been condensed rather easily.

This book is as good as the rest of the series. Very cute still. However, when being compared to the previous books, it seems to lack something that didn't really motivates me to continue reading. It is overall a good book.

Tbh, this one was not my fave, there wasn't that many action as the first ones but at least there were some challenges Ambrose and Lilly had to face. Also, Lilly stayed true to her beliefs like she did during the entire series and I adore her for it.
I'm still doubtful to read the spin off about Amy (I wanted one about Adaira), but I will surely miss the characters and this amazing story that made me a feminist 😍😍

This book was AMAZING!! We got to see more of Lilly's bossiness and of course Mr Ambrose had to listen to her (grudgingly of course) and this is definitely the best book of the series!! I can't believe that Storm and Silence series is over I seriously want more!!😭

This one was alright, it had some funny plot things going on and it was a love letter to a lot of the characters and how they had grown over the series. However, it was a little bit underwhelming compared to the last few and idk if I want to keep reading. Now that they’re married I’m kind of bored.
