Fourteen-year-old Tom Röschenberg has inherited a ghost train and its members of the undead are very lively! And it's a suspenseful time for our young Ghostsitter: Vlarad the vampire has consumed too much hamster blood and has now turned into one, and Wombie the Zombie's hundredth deathday is coming right up. But the ritual for celebrating Wombie's deathday is no easy task: It requires a voodoo dagger, a magic ring, and an enchanted cauldron, and if Tom and his undead friends don't perform the ritual in time, Wombie will turn to dust.
Of course, everyone is absolutely determined to win the adventurous race against time to save good-natured Wombie from disintegrating. And that's not all. Tom's detective skills are put to the test when he has to solve the mystery of missing bestselling author Tiffany Schuster. Is his nemesis Zoracz behind it? And what does the mysterious mechanical clown inside the house of mirrors have to do with it?
The Ghostsitter part 3 offers even more shudders, shivers, jokes, and action for all listeners, from the young to the middle-aged...even for the undead!
4.5/ I think this one was my favorite because it just made me crack up and get all sentimental multiple times. Vlarad as a hamster made me laugh so hard especially when he was midway between hamster and vampire and his voice sounded squeaky and entrancing at the same time. I love how generous Hoptep is towards his friends and even though it was part of their plan, what he did for Mimi was so sweet too by making her human for a little bit. I think Welf is definitely one of my favorite characters because he's so sarcastic and funny but loyal and tough. Tom was especially hilarious in this one because he would keep forgetting to break the telepathic line to everyone which meant that everyone could hear what he was thinking and he did that multiple times lol. I loved the ending with the party for Wombie and Tom feeding Mimi cake was too cute and it was just so sweet that everything came out alright in the end.

This was another very enjoyable installment of Ghostsitter. I would have liked more of an appearance from Zoracz, but that may just be me. He is a very fun character, and I found that I missed having him be more apart of the story. I am sure he'll make more of an appearance in a later book in the seris.
I think that our main character, the Ghostsitter Tom, grows a lot in this book, maybe more so than any of the books previously.
Another fun installment in the series but with some issues. It's frustrated me from the beginning that Tom and Mimi have been hinted since pretty much page one as the "designated endgame couple," largely because Mimi is the only real female character in this book and thus is forced to be a love interest. I liked the addition of Tom's interest in another girl in this book, as it felt like breaking away from the mold. Unfortunately, for a book that spent a lot of time talking about Tom and Mimi, it ended with it still unclear where they stood.
This is personal interpretation, but as an asexual reader, the issue with Tom/Mimi frustrates me. They seem to at times completely dismiss the possibility of a romantic relationship without touch, which, though not a one for one ace metaphor, is possible and feels crappy to have not even discussed. But then on the other hand, I would have liked to see them both given the intitative of just saying they don't want a relationship with that limitation, but the narrative doesn't allow them to have that either.
This was such a good installment of the Ghostsitter series. I also think that Tom has more personal growth in this book than in either of the previous two. Of the three, I think this one might be my favorite so far. I really hope that more of the series will be translated into English, so we can continue to hear about the antics of Tom and his friends on the Terror Tour.
Also, this series is starting to bring me around to the full-cast audio recording. I don't know that I will ever prefer it to a single narrator, but I won't skip over an audiobook just because it is a full-cast recording.
I liked this book more than the two previous books. It worked more like a scavenger hunt, looking for items they would need to save Wombie from certain death on his birthday or something like that. In the meantime there is some romance that makes no sense but is cute nevertheless.
The ending had a deus ex machina quality to it.
I wouldn't mind listening to this audiobook again with kids in the car.
Ghostsitter is an episodic paranormal adventure with goofy dialogue, loveable and simplistic characters, and a feel-good atmosphere that keeps you coming back. My kids and wife broke out laughing at multiple points throughout the series.
I highly recommend this book for families with a sense of humor.
I absolutely love listening to these stories while we drive around in the car! Love the cast and the characters! I hope they record more of these tranated books soon!!
I have enjoyed each of the stories in this series. I have come to really enjoy the Audible books that are being done as radio shows with full casts and background audio.
