Magical medieval artifacts are on display at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. They are the perfect target for magical thieves.

Look out Lucy Heron. It’s not the usual menace looking to steal a strange magical crown.

Good thing Lucy and the Silver Griffins are on the case.

Meanwhile, the Underfoot Brigade are on a case of their own. Monsters are in the underground tunnels. Time to find out why.

The answers to both problems are hidden in plain sight. Can they look to the past to solve the riddle of the present? Good thing the Heron family is good at researching history – including their own.

Will they be able to get the answers they need in time? Will Lucy, the Herons and the Silver Griffins be able to protect the artifacts and the City of Angels as more artifacts are revealed?

Okay, I'm a late bloomer who's a big DC comics fan and spent my childhood summers on the Jersey shore but I was born under a wandering star and have lived in different parts of America ever since. That's enough about me. Need to feel inspired today? Looking for something to make you root for an ordinary hero? I'm all about that in everything I write.

I love a good tale that makes me wonder about things and I love a story even more that leaves me feeling inspired or like I'm capable of doing more than I realized. That's my goal with everything I've ever written. Some of the stories I tell involve twisting, turning thrillers and others have a lot of magic.

There's something to be said for getting lost in another world and coming out the other side feeling a little better about yourself or the possibilities in front of you. That's basically the best part of life in a nutshell, no matter what kind of story I'm setting out to tell.

Thank you for checking out my stories!

Once again, I've been lured into reading the night through, with this great story.

This series is very much a Cosy one, despite the magical battles, but I think this is because it truly represents heartwarming family times, where Lucy, Charlie, and their children, delve into memories, and really live in the times that they can spend together, as fully as possible.

Of course, there's conflict still but, despite the two groups involved in this story, both being dedicated to fighting what's bad, and doing all they can to do what's Right, each side allows less than positive memories to colour their reactions to each other.

Much is done, and said, and there are revelations that will change relationships, but it takes a young girl, with little to her name, but with that same strong urge to right wrongs, to see just how crazy both groups are being, when both of them just want the best for everyone!

There are magical fights that get out of hand, at times but, for the most part, these people are, ALL of them, dedicated to protecting and serving everyone around them.

I guess it goes to show that stubbornness isn't something that's only inflicted on the young, but can also linger within the young at heart, too! Lol

I really do enjoy these books.

This series, and this book in particular, is quite different to many of the books, and series, that I've read since I first discovered Michael Anderle's writing.

But they really satisfy a part of me that sometimes needs the simpler, more innocent, tones of my own youth - and, this particular book has that in spades!

So, as has become a habit with me, since I started reading Martha, and Michael's, books, I'm going to catch up on some sleep then, once I wake up, I'll go on to book six of this series: 'Ogres and Mom' and, once I've finished reading it, I'll catch you on the flip side, and let you know what I think of it!

This series continues in the same heartwarming, family-fun vein it began. As the cast grows, there are lots of threads of stories to follow, so there is less time to spend on each one. As a result, there was less time devoted to the main Silver Griffin case that Lucy is working on than in previous novels, but that didn't detract from the story. The other threads and storylines enhanced it instead.

The only one that I was slightly disappointed in was Kelly's. (Slight spoiler here, so skip the paragraph if you don't want to read it.) I will admit thay parr of me worried and hoped that when she went onto Robail's home by herself, he would actually be there. I was worried she would get hurt while hopeful that when she did it would help her learn to not be a lone wolf just because she made a mistake as a new agent - and maybe she would finally succeed in pulling the stick out of her butt. Alas, that didn't happen. Kelly is still very much Kelly, stuck-up, self-righteous, and smug...and still with a stick up her butt. Maybe she'll listen to Applegate's advice at the end but I doubt it. Now i'm just crossing my fingers that Applegate doesn't take too long to retire so Lucy can get that promotion and Kelly can finally learn that she's not all that. Lol.

Silver Griffins and Knights

Another fun and adventurous add to the series. There are a couple of storylines going on in this book and they are all good. Lucy and the Griffins are trying to stop a robbery of precious art, her two older kids are both working on adventures of their own and the tunnel kids are having problems with big bugs. I love the way the author can juggle all the storylines, keep your interest and get them all resolved by the end.

There are times

That I look at a book waiting to be read, and think “Maybe I should just return it unread”. The general plot theme is familiar and there’s a more exciting story waiting to be read. After putting the first one aside and finishing the “exciting “one, I pick up the first one and rediscover the magic the author has imparted to the characters and their interactions. This was such an experience. A great read.

Best one yet

I love these stories. They have action and adventure across multiple generations, this time three! While this story fights bad guys and monsters, it also forges bonds. There's a lot more about family than usual, which makes for a great story. I can't wait to see what happens with Lucy and her friends, family and frenemies next. 👍👍

I loved this book. The main characters are, despite the magic, very believable, fun, and endearing. The plot is easily followed and if you are paying attention, lessons are also learned. I cannot recommend this book enough, as well as the rest of the series.

Friend or foe

I love reading about Lucy’s adventures and the way they include her family. This time she is trying to stop an art theft by another magical group. They end up compromising and becoming friends.

What Fun

This time we are on introduced to an ancient group of knights. They are trying to steal a crown that has been thiers centuries ago. After many run ins with the Silver Griffons, the solution is amazing. A great read again.

Quando dois grupos que lutam pela paz têm missões conflituosas, o que pode acontecer? Este é a pergunta que a protagonista deste livro busca responder, sempre com muita magia, muita tecnologia, e muita comida saborosa.

It's not just about Lucy, but Jackie, Sarah and the other characters in the book. They all have their own story.

This was alright. We were introduced to several new characters and there was a lot of action, but the story was all over the place. Actually, it felt more like 6 different stories all crammed into this one book.
