Double confusion
This is probably the best book in the Adoption Agency series for me as I laughed at the antics. Both Rexx n Abigail thought each was wealthy because of the money they spent. He assumed because she arrived in that gaud awful purple gown and she talked about her grandad running the Peregrine that she was related to the Shaw family who invented the famous train.
Abigail always wanted children but a childhood illness in her teens , treatment worked, left her infertile. She'd help babysit her brothers n sisters. So when she found out about the agency she jumped at the chance. When she saw baby Rio with his Invicta warrior, she ran straight toward them, happy as a lark. She swung the baby round n round until he upchucked as babies tend to do after being fed. But even that didn't dampen her spirits. A chance touch from Rexx felt like springtime to her with flowers pushing up from the soil of her soul while pleasant breezes flowed through her veins. At first sight of the warrior she'd already felt a slight pull toward him along with an effervescent feeling in her chest. So she knew exactly what was happening, but did he feel the same thing?
Rexx always believed the key to success was to suppress one's wants to serve the homeland. When tasked to protect the Imberian child, he took his job seriously what he didn't expect was how gratifying it would be. When he touched Abigail the dragon inside screamed "mate". He n the dragon argued the issue, "not mate, yes mate, no way, yes way". Rexx still said no n the dragon just chuckled. But the more he learned about Abigail he shifted his priorities to protect them both from any predator, weather event, criminal,or bad thing of any kind that might risk their lives.
On the Peregrine, there's a mysterious locked car, unexplained noises in the night, a missing person, a criminally dangerous passenger n sabotage.
While the child was totally adorable, the thing that was outrageously funny was when Rexx sent a progress report that went viral. Reply from commander, " You do know that you only need the female 's permission" . Then reply after reply starting coming in, he read some then threw the communicator away.
I laughed so hard I 😂😂. I don't usually stay with serials but I loved each episode n the fact they had no cliffhangers was a win win for me. Now patiently waiting for the next book, oh who am I kidding. Hurry up October!!!
