Very cute book about 6 inch people that live in tiny places in people's houses, schools and dumps. The two children in the story are acceding lay taken to a second grade classroom in a hamster cage. In the evening when the students have left the school the two Littles explore the classroom. Very cute book third graders would live it!
This was another cute book in a cute series. Tom and Lucy's adventures at the school were both exciting and interesting. Although perhaps not as intriguing as the previous title in the series (The Littles and the Big Storm), this was still a very enjoyable read. I highly recommend this series to its intended audience and anyone looking for a cute, quick read.
Abbie liked how Tom helped Lucy feel good about going to school. He showed her all around the school and how things worked. They way they got to an from the school was surprising.
I was in 7th grade when the Littles cartoon show was on Saturday mornings, and it was probably the last Saturday morning cartoon I watched regularly. I was older than the target audience at that point, but still enjoyed it. This was my first time reading one of the books.
The Littles are a family of "tiny people". The tallest are about six inches, and they have tails. They live inside the walls and other spaces in human houses. This book is in the middle of the series and introduces the tiny people's education system, which is a bit like the frontier arrangement, with a teacher making the rounds of visiting households. The tiny children also attend school for a couple of weeks every summer when the school building is empty of humans.
Lucy and Tom Little enjoy learning, and actually do more studying than Henry Bigg, the child in the house they live in. But Lucy is nervous about her upcoming first time at school. Tom tries to reassure her, but Lucy is forced to confront her fears sooner than expected, when the two siblings are accidentally packed up in the gerbil cage and taken to a kindergarten classroom.
This was a quick, fun adventure. It's in the middle of the series, but introduced all of the elements of the world smoothly, including a fun set of supporting characters in Tom and Lucy's extended family. The complications of trying to escape from the school building unseen with school in session were fun, though never all that harrowing.
Reference to an opaque projector is used in this book, which dates the story quite a bit as I don't believe those are used in schools anymore.
---------------------------------------------- Part of a personal challenge to read all of my boyfriend's and his sister's childhood books before we donate and give them away.
The ending left some to be desired, but all the other details fall into place perfectly as usual for this series. My class enjoyed the cliffhangers at the ens of the chapters and really got into seeing a classroom through the eyes of a "little." Once again, the Littles do not disappoint their readers!
This is the third book in this series that I have read to my daughter (I read it as a child too). I do not think it is as well-done as other books in the series but still a worthy read for Littles' fans!
I thought it was kind of mysterious, adventurous and a little bit funny. It's about two little people who go to school by accident and they're trying to look for their tiny teacher, and the have tails. Their last name is Little. Yes, I finished this book today!

I recommend this book because it says how school is fun to the kids that may not think so. It is also a very fun book especially when the teacher comes to visit the Littles.
Mallory loves school so this was right up her alley. Cameron had already read this one but listened along with Mallory and enjoyed it just as much the second time.
