David O'Connell

He works mostly in children’s books, particularly humorous picture books and young fiction. His best known books are The Naughtiest Unicorn series, the best-selling How to Grow Up and Feel Amazing (both as illustrator) and The Chocolate Factory Ghost (as writer).
Although he wrote and drew his own stories from a young age, he studied science at A-level, then gained a degree in Biochemistry from the University of Bristol. After a period of work, he returned to academic life, working towards a PhD in Clinical Biochemistry from the University of Cambridge. This was followed by a managerial role in the IT department of the John Lewis Partnership.
His desire to write and draw professionally stayed with him, and to that end he signed with United Agents in 2008, thanks to the recommendation of his friend Sarah McIntyre with whom he collaborated on the picture book, Jampires. They also worked together on a Picture Book Writing & Illustrating course, available from Curtis Brown Creative.

A chocolate factory (yum!), a quest, a ghost, mean family members, and magic, lots of magic.
This was pretty much a blind buy. I saw this book being promoted on twitter, read a bit on Amazon previews, loved the cover, and just had to have the book. And boy, I am so happy I did, as this was way too much fun to read. It contains all sorts of elements that I love in books. A quest, magic, chocolate, friendship.
Archie finds out that he is now the owner of a factory, and not just a factory, McBudge Confectionery Company and all its stores. It is a famous confectionery, everyone knows McBudge and their delicious goods. Especially their fudge! And it is all for Archie now that his great-uncle died. But it is not as easy as that. Before he can truly do anything, he needs to go on a quest. What the quest entails and also what the reward is? Well, Archie (and his friends) are about to find out.
I loved reading about the factory, about the house, about the town (especially the town, there were so many stories about all the supernatural and wyrde things happening in the town). The author really manages to write everything in a way that I just could imagine myself there, following Archie or when he is together with his friends (and sure the illustrations also worked to show stuff).
The quest? I just loved it, the puzzles, the little details, the hidden books, the hidden everything. With every step I had a clearer image on what was going on and what all the found objects meant.
The secret ingredient? Boy, I just hadn't expected it to be that. It was really fun, and I was just delighted. Oh boy, that is just the best secret ingredient ever.
The only thing I didn't like were the two cousins, and well the aunt was also annoying (very much so actually), but at least she didn't try to murder people. Yes, her kids were all out for Archie. It was just disgusting. Who the hell lets their kids do this crap? I mean, murder, hello? This was one of the reasons I didn't rate the book as high as I wanted. :(
Archie was such a fun character. I liked him immediately, and with each turn of the story he became even better and better. He became stronger as well, and braver. I am happy with how in the end he was brave enough to stand up and do that. Good job!
Fliss? Well, it took me a bit longer to like her. I love a girl with a strong attitude, but hers was a bit too much. How she thought she was just entitled to all sorts of things, how she thought she was so much better. Eventually I started to like her, but still I was a bit hesitant about her. But she did prove to be a great friend and she also learned to be a bit less judgemental about stuff. For which I am thankful.
Then there is Billy, the guy was pretty weird, but I still liked him and how dedicated he was to finding all there is about the town and the surrounding area. He sure has a big knowledge on the place. And he really helped out with the quest.
I knew from the moment that we saw x happening who the ghost was and also had an idea of what was going on.
The ending was brilliant. So happy for everyone involved, though I guess Archie still has a lot of work ahead of him, but I am sure he will do the job fabulously. Go go Archie.
The illustrations were just fabulous!
I am also so delighted that there will be more books featuring these characters and this place. I was already worried that this would just be a solo book. *dances*
All in all, this was a fantastic book, and I could probably have wrote a lot more about it, I would highly recommend this book to everyone! Be sure to read this fun, magical, and chocolate/candy filled book.

"Das Karamell-Komplott" hat mich mit seinem Klappentext rund um die Süßigkeitenfabrik sehr neugierig gemacht und ich war gespannt auf die Geschichte.
Das Buch beginnt mit Archies Ankunft und wie er erfährt, dass er die Süßigkeitsfabrik seines Onkels geerbt hat, aber um die Fabrik vernünftig weiterführen zu können, muss er sich erst als wahrer Erbe beweisen. Ein Abenteuer durch die Fabrik beginnt.
Mich konnte das Buch gut unterhalten und mir hat das Setting sehr gut gefallen. Die Geschichte war spanned, amüsant und vor allem sehr kreativ. Es gibt einige sehr witzige Wesen, die Archie die Suche erschweren oder ihm helfen.
Das Buch ist sowohl für Jungen als auch für Mädchen geeignet, die gerne fantastische Abenteuergeschichten lesen.

Bei der Ausgangslage der Geschichte könnte man annehmen, dass es so ein bisschen wie bei Roald Dahls "Charlie und die Schokoladenfabrik" wird, ein tolles Buch übrigens. Doch Archie McEllen - und somit auch wir Leser - erhält nur einen sehr kurzen Einblick in die Fabrik seiner Familie. Stattdessen muss er sich mit seinen neuen Freunden auf eine Schatzsuche machen, an dessen Ende das Wertvollste für den Erhalt der Süßwarenfabrik steht: die Geheimzutat für McEllens Karamellen.
Am Anfang war die Geschichte wie etwas zähe Karamell-Toffees, meine Jungs und ich mussten uns erstmal 'durchbeißen' und in die Geschichte reinfinden, mit all seinen Myrkwyrdigkeiten. Aber sobald die Schatzsuche dann losging, nahm auch die Geschichte an Fahrt auf. Das Ende gefiel meinen Söhnen dann am besten. Die Drachen waren toll, und der 'finale Showdown' mit all seinen Auflösungen war wirklich spannend.

Un roman jeunesse au top ! L’univers et l’ambiance sont super, l’enquête est sympa et les personnages vraiment chouettes ... bref une jolie lecture !

Archie vient d'hériter de l'usine de confiseries de son grand-oncle Archibald McBudge, très célèbre pour ses délicieux caramels. Le voilà donc riche ! Mais… l'ingrédient secret des caramel a disparu, et, sans lui, l'usine court à sa perte.
Archie se retrouve alors embarqué dans une chasse au trésor méticuleusement organisée par son grand-oncle. Sera-t-il digne de l'entreprise familiale, et suffisamment ingénieux pour découvrir le secret de l'ingrédient mystère ?

Roman jeunesse assez mignon et drôle, dans un univers de caramels, bonbons et chocolats qui ravira sûrement le lecteurs et lectrices les plus gourmand·e·s !
Mais aussi une petite touche de mystère et de fantaisie, un peu de magie, très bienvenus également !

Quelques points négatifs selon moi cependant, qui m'ont fait apprécier un peu moins ma lecture : beaucoup de blagues faites par rapport à l'apparence des personnages – notamment, à titre d'exemple, les deux gros cousins d'Archie qui sont appelés tout le long de l'histoire les « Cochonnets », et qui, bien sûr, sont des antagonistes ; ou leur mère, au contraire très maigre, qui est elle aussi une méchante de l'histoire…
J'espérais également que l'usine et la découverte des différents lieux, des machines, de la production des confiseries, etc, seraient un peu plus au cœur du récit. Finalement, la chocolaterie en elle-même ne semble pas si importante que ça par rapport à l'intrigue, ce que j'ai trouvé dommage.

I just loved this book , it was very interesting and full of twists and turns with loads of mystery and magic, the best part was it was fast paced with no dragging which made it all the more Interesting, looking forward to other books in the series

Päähenkilö perii sukunsa karkkitehtaan ja ison omaisuuden, josta hänellä ei ole tietoa ollut. On kuitenkin tehtävä asioita, ettei koko omaisuus olisi arvoton. Pidän yleensä lasten seikkailukirjoista eli juuri tämän tyylisistä. Ja no ei tämä ihan susi ollut muttei kyllä kovin hyväkään eli aika keskivertoa. Itse kirjoittaminen kyllä oli suhteellisen sujuvaa, mutta välillä oli vähän tylsähköjäkin kohtia, joissa mielenkiinto meinasi herpaantua. Kohtalainen.

Karkkitehtaan kummitus oli kuin yhdistelmä Jalia ja suklaatehdasta, Harry Potteria sekä Malamanteria. Jännittävä tarina piti otteessaan niin lukijan kuin kuuntelijat, juoni tarjoili yllätyksiä ja piti mielenkiintoa yllä. Monipuolinen tarina, joka oli kuitenkin eheä kokonaisuus. Mukavaa luettavaa ja plussaa myös kuvituksesta. Yksi parhaista tämän vuoden lastenkirjoista.

Well, this was another mad caper! When Archie McBudge inherits Honeystone Hall and a famous chocolate factory in the odd and mysterious town of Dundoodle from an uncle he didn't know he had, he's in for a bit of a shock and the beginning of an unexpected adventure. As part of his uncle's instructions, Archie must take on a treasure-hunting, clue-tracking, magical quest while his mum tackles the boring parts of running a business on the brink of failure. Time's running out to find the secret ingredient that makes McBudge's Fudge the best there is, and with annoying relatives getting in the way (and possibly plotting to kill him for his inheritance?!), will Archie succeed as well as help his mum find the secret ingredient?
I really liked how this book blended the nonsense/fantasy aspects of the story in with the realistic family motions. Archie's a lovable protagonist with a wicked sense of humour, and the friends he makes were also great fun to read. They all had great chemistry with each other, and I especially loved their dialogue and immediate loyalty to each other. The illustrations of all the characters are wonderfully emotive and funny, perfectly matching the quirky tone of the book, so the illustrator definitely deserves some kudos here.
The plot is pacy and has a lovely sense of old-fashioned adventure quest stories, with lots of mad sweets-related clues to follow, doses of odd magic, secret passages and tunnels, and spooky old castles. I couldn't work out if I expected the ending or not, but I loved it anyway as it definitely puts an interesting spin on the mystery as the centre of the story, and leaves me with a lot of questions for the next books in the series. I also liked how well the author/characters acknowledged Archie's wealth as a privilege he wasn't fully aware of, especially when talking with others for whom money is a concern. This is pretty rare in kids books, especially with a big part of the plot hinging on a massive family inheritance, so it was heartening to see.
The only thing that bothered me about this book though were the rather . . . unusual names (Mr Hankiecrust and Loch Flikmaibogie being two of the worst) which I think maybe went a bit too overboard for my tastes. I liked the recognisably Scottish-ish placenames that were just a bit silly, but the ones the jumped into bodily-functions humour just really didn't work for me at all. I can see how such gross names would appeal to kids, and would be hilarious to read aloud, but a lot of them were quite repetitively gross without any cleverness to them, and it felt unnecessary and a bit of a distraction from the otherwise delicious treats we were immersed in throughout the story. There wasn't much of a theme to them that made them fit in the world of the story, and I think it maybe would have been better to stick with the silly/sweets theme for names rather than the snot-related grossness. I think this book had plenty enough humour without the yukky names.
But overall this is a really enjoyable story with lots of creative and adventuring fun! I definitely recommend this to Year 3/4 classes.

Cela faisait longtemps que je ne m'étais pas replongée dans un roman jeunesse. Je cherchais une lecture rapide pour me sortir de ma grosse panne de lecture et ça a fonctionné !
Je l'ai lu très rapidement (une journée). J'ai beaucoup apprécié le concept de l'histoire du garçon qui prend l'héritage de l'usine de son grand-père pour ensuite chercher un ingrédient secret et s'engager dans une quête avec ses amis.
Malgré tout, c'était un peu trop jeunesse pour moi. Tout allait très vite mais je comprends totalement car c'est avant tout une histoire réservée aux enfants. Cela m'a empêché de vraiment apprécier ce roman même si l'histoire et surtout le dénouement m'a beaucoup plu.

Nuori päähenkilö perii isosetänsä karkkitehtaan ja päätyy selvittämään arvoitusta, joka hänelle suvun työn jatkajana on annettu. Matkalla hän saa kaksi ystävää ja tapaa monenlaisia enemmän tai vähemmän maagisia olentoja. Myös eräs epämiellyttävä sukulainen kahden lapsensa kanssa vaanii varjoissa. Kirjan suositusikä on 7+, mutta tämä menee kevyesti vielä 10-vuotiaallekin.

I received a proof of this book from the author and I’m very grateful that I did. A fun, magical story for middle grade readers that has oodles of sweet treats in it and one of my other favourite things - dragons! I really enjoyed this mystery story and I’m very much looking forward to seeing the finished illustrations by Claire Powell, as the few that I’ve seen are just delightful and complement the tale perfectly.

Karamellbonbons schmecken doch einfach himmlisch oder? Wie schön wäre es da doch, wenn man gleich eine ganze Bonbonfabrik besäße? Diese Frage kann uns sicher Archie McEllen beantworten, denn als sein ihm unbekannter Großonkel verstirbt, erbt Archie sein Vermögen. Dies beinhaltet die berühmteste Süßwarenfabrik der Welt, sowie ein großes Herrenhaus, ein Schloss, Ländereien und sämtlichen Läden, in denen die Süßwaren verkauft werden. Archie und seine Mutter sind überwältig – doch das Glück währt nicht lange. Die Geheimzutat, die das Karamellbonbon so besonders macht, ist nämlich ein Familiengeheimnis und mit dem Tod des Großonkels verschwunden. Nur eine von ihm zuvor erstellte Schatzsuche kann Archie und seine Freunde auf die Spur der Geheimzutat bringen und somit die Fabrik retten. Natürlich machen sich die Kinder sofort an die Arbeit – allerdings haben sie nicht damit gerechnet, dass ihnen ein paar böse Widersacher die Suche erschweren würden.
Der erste Band der wunderlichen Abenteuer des Archie McEllen beinhaltet eine fantasievolle, spannende Geschichte, die für Leser ab 8 Jahren geeignet ist. Nachdem Archie die Süßwarenfabrik seines verstorbenen Großonkels erbt, muss er schnell die verschollene Geheimzutat finden – sonst droht das Aus der Karamellbonbonproduktion. Als Leser findet man sich also mit Archie plötzlich im großen Herrenhaus des verstorbenen Onkels wieder und wird, schneller als man denkt, in eine magische Schatzsuche verwickelt. Das Herrenhaus bietet ein wunderbares Setting, denn mit seinen vielen Zimmern, Tunneln und Türmchen lauert an jeder Ecke eine neue Überraschung. Mir hat die Stimmung, die das Setting ausstrahlt, übrigens besonders gut gefallen. Gefühlt war man bei der Schnitzeljagd immer auf der Hut und darauf bedacht, von niemandem gesehen zu werden.
Aber auch die Süßwarenfabrik und das alte Schloss kommen zum Einsatz, denn nach und nach weitet sich die Schatzsuche aus. Für meinen Geschmack lief das Ganze insgesamt aber etwas zu reibungslos ab, was aber auch daran liegen könnte, das ich als Erwachsener natürlich einen anderen Blick auf die Geschichte habe, als die 8 jährigen Leser. Nichtsdestotrotz hat mir das Rätseln und Mitdenken ziemlich viel Spaß gemacht.
Der Schreibstil ist einfach und flüssig zu lesen und die einzelnen Kapitel haben eine gute Länge. Nebenbei ist das Buch toll illustriert, was die Erzählungen für meinen Geschmack ganz wunderbar unterstrichen hat.
Die Charaktere sind übrigens allererste Sahne, denn jeder hat ein paar ziemlich lustige oder verrückte Eigenheiten, die ihn auszeichnen. So ist Willy zum Beispiel vollkommen verrückt nach Untoten und gruseligen Figuren, während der Butler Tablet eingestaubter wirkt als das gesamte Herrenhaus. Natürlich gibt es auch ein paar fiese Widersacher und wie es sich gehört, kommen diese sogar aus den eigenen Reihen. Wenn’s ums Erbe oder Geld geht, kennt man keine Freunde. Das denkt sich wohl auch Archies Tante, die alles daransetzt, die Kinder von ihrem Plan abzuhalten.
Insgesamt bietet dieses Buch eine spannende, magische Geschichte mit vielen kreativen Elementen, die ein wenig an Charlie und die Schokoladenfabrik erinnert. Die abenteuerliche Schatzsuche eignet sich sowohl für Jungen, als auch für Mädchen und dürfte Leser aller Altersklassen bestens unterhalten.

There is something so timeless and classic about the book that it instantly conjured my childhood memories of these Blyton adventure mysteries. Yet O'Connell goes above and beyond in his writing by adding in an extra magical layer - a layer which includes flying letters, tiny dragons and winking portraits.
The plot is peppered with delicious treats all the way through; toffee jigsaws, strawberry strings, lavish hot chocolates and the infamous McBudge fudge. But alongside these sweet-tooth temptations O'Connell weaves a mysterious trail that is crackling with intrigue and lurking with sinister spies. Just who does the sneaky mobgoblin belong to and why do they want to stop Archie?
The strength of friendship which develops between the main characters, Archie, Fliss and Billy is also reminiscent of Blyton's tales. The children lead the action but take on adult villains. Rest assured though, there are watchful eyes hovering in the background.
Honeystone Hall and the Scottish village of Dundoodle offers just the right mixture of magical charm and spooky enigma. Secret tunnels, abandoned castles and creepy caves offset the cheery comfort of the McBudge factory and Clootie Dumpling's cafe. The plot has more twists and turns than the secret tunnels, leading the reader and the characters towards a surprising and satisfying ending.
This story would have sat comfortably on the shelves twenty plus years ago and hopefully will still be sitting comfortably on bookshelves in twenty plus years time. It offers a enjoyable, solidly comforting traditional family read and I look forward to curling up with the other books in the 'Dundoodle Mysteries' series in front of a roaring fire...oh and a large box of chocolates.

Archie McEllen kann es noch nicht fassen. Eben war er ein ganz normaler kleiner Junge und jetzt ist er der Besitzer einer berühmten Süßwarenfabrik. Doch bevor er sein Erbe so richtig antreten und genießen kann, muss er sich erst einer Schnitzeljagd durch Haus Honigstein stellen und so einem alten Familiengeheimnis auf die Spur kommen.
Zum Glück ist er nicht alleine, denn Feli, Willy und Hund Limo stehen ihm zur Seite und helfen, wo sie nur können. Doch Archie muss auf der Hut sein, denn er ist nicht der Einzige, der auf der Suche nach dem Familiengeheimnis ist und ihm zudem nach dem Leben trachtet …
Archie McEllen ist ganz durch den Wind. Eben noch ein ganz normaler kleiner Junge und plötzlich der Erbe eines Süßwarenimperiums. Doch das Erbe zieht eine Bedingung nach sich, die er bewältigen muss. Der Autor schafft mit diesem Buch eine Welt, in der sich wahre Freundschaft, Mystik, Magie und Spannung die Hand geben. Nur gemeinsam mit seinen neuen Freunden löst Archie eine Aufgabe nach der anderen.
Als Leser wird man Teil des Freundeskreises und darf gemeinsam mit den anderen die Rätsel lösen und dem nächsten auf die Spur kommen. Der Schreibstil ist kindgerecht, so dass nicht nur meine 8jährige Tochter das Buch gut lesen, sondern auch problemlos verstehen konnte. Die Rätsel waren zwar knifflig, aber lösbar. Untermalt wird die Geschichte von einigen sehr schönen Illustrationen, die den Text etwas auflockern.
Uns hat das Buch sehr gut gefallen, denn natürlich war auch ich sehr neugierig auf Archie McEllen, den Erben einer Süßwarenfabrik.

Dieses Buch habe ich zusammen mit meinem 9jährigen Sohn gelesen, da ich den Klappentext vielversprechend und das Cover witzig fand. Wir hatten sehr viel Spaß beim lesen und er hat dabei seine Freude gehabt. Die Geschichte hat uns sehr schnell in ihren Bann gezogen und wir haben mit den Kindern im Buch mitgelitten und mitgefiebert, aber auch jede Menge Spaß gehabt. Ein wirklich ganz wundervolles und geschichtlich sehr gut durchdachtes Buch, was für Kinder ab 8 Jahren ideal ist und einiges an Spannung mit sich bringt.

Ich fand das Cover sehr ansprechend und auch mit mitte dreißig bin ich nicht zu alt für ein Kinderbuch.
Der Schreibstil ist kindgerecht und schnell ist man in der Geschichte drin.
Auch junge Leser werden dieses Buch kaum aus der Hand legen können.
Die Charaktere kommen sehr authentisch rüber,haben sie doch genau die Probleme,die man von Kindern kennt.
Das Setting wird sehr bildhaft beschrieben,sodass man sich das Honighaus super vorstellen kann.
Die Schnitzeljagd war mein persönliches Highlight in diesem Buch.

Ein wunderschönes Abenteuer und eine tolle Traumwelt.
Wenn man auf einmal eine Gluckshose besitzt und daraufhin auf einmal eine Süßigkeitenfabrik erbt, das kann nur zu unvorhersehbaren führen und verspricht lustig zu werden.
So ging es Archie er konnte das Glück kaum fassen aber zuerst musste sie Aufgaben erledigen.
Von Anfang an war man in einer besonderen Phantasie Welt, es war auch toll zu sehen wie aus einem normalen Jungen auf einmal etwas besonderes verändert.
Es war ein spannendes und besonderes Abenteuer, das sehr spannend war, auch der Humor blieb nicht auf der Strecke.

Es ist für Kinder ab 8 Jahren ein besonderes Abenteuer, das aber auch die eigene Phantasie anregt.
Kann es nur empfehlen.
Wenn man auf einmal eine Gluckshose besitzt und daraufhin auf einmal eine Süßigkeitenfabrik erbt, das kann nur zu unvorhersehbaren führen und verspricht lustig zu werden.
So ging es Archie er konnte das Glück kaum fassen aber zuerst musste sie Aufgaben erledigen.
Von Anfang an war man in einer besonderen Phantasie Welt, es war auch toll zu sehen wie aus einem normalen Jungen auf einmal etwas besonderes verändert.
Es war ein spannendes und besonderes Abenteuer, das sehr spannend war, auch der Humor blieb nicht auf der Strecke.

Set in the fictional village of Dundoodle in Scotland, this tells the story of Archie as he inherits McBudge`s Fudge Factory and must solve a series of puzzles in order to find a hidden missing ingredient required to make the fudge special. I thought the characters were great, especially Archie though I did also quite like his new friends, and getting to meet some of the McBudge`s Fudge staff. The puzzles were so clever, so much so I can only wish I had been able to solve a few, not to mention that I liked them all the more for being themed around sweets. Though I didn’t get to see all of the illustrations as I read a proof, I really liked those I did see and I think this would be a great read for fans of Goodly and Grave. I`m looking forward to the next Dundoodle Mystery, particularly after the very interesting revelations at the end. 4/5

The chocolate factory ghost by David O'Connell is a fun mystery that children would love. The book centres around Archie who has just inherited his Great- Uncle's fortune. He the has to go on a quest to prove he is the worthy heir to the Mcbudge brand and sweet factory. However, the secret ingredient for the famous fudge is missing so he also has to search for this as well. Archie meets friends along the way and solves all sorts of riddles to figure out the secret of the Mcbudge brand.
The book is fun with great illustrations to help younger reader along with understanding the story. It also has some trickier vocabulary to challenge older readers that may read the book independently.
Overall, I think this is a good book for ages 7-11 because it draws children's attention and keeps them engaged. It also has a sweet message about friendship, working together and not giving up.

I adored this novel. It was so charming and heart-warming.
I have noticed a continuing trend in recent children's novels and that is nods and references to Harry Potter. I often find that annoying (as nearly every children's author is at it these days) but it was done well in this book. I did find the giant stone face in the wall a little uh-ohhh, as it was exactly like the giant stone face in Chamber of Secrets.
Other than that, however, the story is amazing and so refreshing. What child wouldn't love a book filled with chocolate and fudge and dragons and ghosts?

Of course the title immediately brings to mind Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and the Tweety Sweeties introduced on page 19 may have been inspired by the Toot Sweets in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, but fortunately the rest of the book felt very original.
The illustrations complemented the story perfectly. I think children will love this humorous mystery.

A solid mystery and enjoyable read. Archie and his mom are called to a lawyer's office and are told the very big surprise of inheriting a chocolate factory from a long-lost relative. While this is very exciting, there are problems like the missing secret ingredient no one can find, terrible cousins who are trying to injure him at every turn, and a letter that tells him of a quest to embark upon to figure some things out. Kids will love the chocolate factory connection and the sweets throughout.

This was a great mystery story. I love how the supernatural blends with more common mystery plots, the sweet factory setting really appeals to my class and the characters are great.
This is a really nice introduction to the mystery genre for children because it balances the need for clues with magical elements that make it more similar to other books they are familiar with. The short chapters are also a God send when reading it to class.

Mignon, drôle et gourmand ! Un digne successeur de Charlie et la chocolaterie.
Archie est un héros attachant et ses deux acolytes, Fliss et Billy, apportent beaucoup de fraîcheur. Quelqu'un peu prévisible, Les mystères de Dundoodle brille par son univers inventif qui ouvre l'appétit.
