Discover Jessica Townsend's magical bestselling Nevermoor series in this gorgeous paperback gift set   Nevermoor, Wundersmith,  and  Hollowpox  !

Morrigan Crow is cursed. Having been born on Eventide, the unluckiest day for any child to be born, she's blamed for all local misfortunes, from hailstorms to heart attacks--and, worst of all, the curse means that Morrigan is doomed to die at midnight on her eleventh birthday.

But as Morrigan awaits her fate, a strange and remarkable man named Jupiter North appears. Chased by black-smoke hounds and shadowy hunters on horseback, he whisks her away into the safety of a secret, magical city called Nevermoor.

It's then that Morrigan discovers Jupiter has chosen her to contend for a place in the city's most prestigious the Wundrous Society. In order to join, she must compete in four difficult and dangerous trials against hundreds of other children, each with an extraordinary talent that sets them apart--an extraordinary talent that Morrigan insists she does not have. To stay in the safety of Nevermoor for good, Morrigan will need to find a way to pass the tests--or she'll have to leave the city to confront her deadly fate.

Perfect for fans of Neil Gaiman, this fast-paced plot and imaginative world has a fresh new take on magic that will appeal to a new generation of readers.

I loved them. I felt like I was a character in the book. When I finished the last book, I did not want it to end. Morrigan will make you feel welcome and she goes through so much and your along the ride as well. It wonderful, horrific, adventurous, humorous, and oh so much more. The comedy, oh the comedy, I am the kind of person who wishes I could be caught in a situation and be able to use one of Jessica Townsend’s retorts. I love this series! I want more!

The Nevermoor series lives up to the hype. I have read the first 3 books in the series over just a few weeks - I couldn't put them down & am eagerly anticipating book #4. I daresay my son (12) will get to read it first but I will be tempted to steal a read while he is at school! He encouraged me to read them so that he could talk about them with me - that is a high recommendation in itself. He also said he hopes they don't make movies out of the books as he enjoys visualising the characters & Nevermoor in his own head - another fabulous thumbs up for the plotline, characterisation & writing.

Read this for myself and loved it then I read out loud to my girls, who loved it as well. Can't say enough about these books. Awesome. Great characters and development. Magical and fun with twists and turns while still being easy to follow. Will probably read it again. (I read them separately when they first came out and then waited impatiently for the next book in the series before buying all on the kindle to keep online. I don't remember exactly when I read them, but I finished each within a few days for my personal reading.)

THESE very books are the VERY BOOKS that got me into reading in the first place. I remember coming across this ,and I read the first three books A MILLION TIMES!!! I am still waiting for the fourth book.
Honestly it gave Harry Potter vibes, and it does not hide the fact that it does. ALL OF THEM ARE MY FAVORITE CHARACTERS.......

SPOILERS A LITTLE IN THE THIRD PARAGRAPH (counting the paragraph after this as number 1) ABOUT THE THIRD BOOK HOLLOWPOX SO SCROLL PAST IF YOU NEED!! It’s not major but it gives a good idea about a main theme in the book so if you want no spoilers whatsoever, scroll past!

Right well if I’m honest I finished this book series a awhile ago and I have only just recently managed to find a copy of the Hardback Original Art version of the first book so I will be rereading this very soon!! However from my memory (which is awful, I did read this from the beginning of Year 8 to end of Year 10) I thoroughly loved this trilogy and cannot wait to read the next book coming out!! This is the perfect blend of fantasy to the point it’s so wacko and interesting but also it still has a sense of mystery and depth into it. Also, who doesn’t love the found family trope? Ugh, these books made it so nice is so many ways through Morrigan’s home at the Hotel Deucalion and in her class in the later books.

I also love the characters and their individual personalities. Cadence Blackburn is a favourite of mine, and Hawthorn is a little bundle of energy alongside his family, I love them to bits!! While this book also had its dark plots (for a young audience of course but I am scared of most things so children books are wow for me) it also showcases the beauty of its world. MYY the world building is delectable, exquisite!! Hearing about the traditions, the types of people and creatures that live in this world is absolutely wonderful. The creativity is in full burst in these books so if you love a good book who’s author has an imagination to no end? You’ll absolutely love this.

At the moment, my favourite has to be the last book Hollowpox as it’s such a good representation of discrimination between the races in the world of Nevermoor. I sorta gives Zootropolis vibes at times but I do love how the topics develop in severity in each book and how it represents topics like overall discrimination, racism, bullying, ostracism, abuse, manipulation etc. It’s also hilarious this book came out around and during Covid-19 and the lockdown period because this book also highlights those procedures like lockdown and social distancing 😭😭 These books may be more on the younger adult child side like 8-12 but personally I feel it’s very educational through a more subtle fantasy route.

The villain in this book as well is so well written, and how they interact with the main character is so manipulative and villain-like ugh I love it. I hate the villain of course but the way his character is written is wow. He’s calm, composed, always in a position of power against the main character and its amazing to see the young Morrigan Crow try overcome him by herself or with the help of her friends.

These were the books that sparked my intense love of reading. This was it, and I hold these books so close to my heart.
If you think that you are too old for this series, you aren't.
