When Joe, Beth and Frannie move to the countryside, they discover that their new house lies next to the Enchanted Wood! And in that wood stands the Magic Faraway Tree. This is no ordinary tree - it is home to more magical lands full of elves, pixies, talking creatures and wonderful adventures than the children ever imagined possible!
Join the children and their new friends Moon-Face, Saucepan Man and Silky the Fairy as they explore this most magical of all fairytale worlds in the three original Magic Faraway Tree novels by beloved author Enid Blyton.
Enid Mary Blyton (1897–1968) was an English author of children's books.
Born in South London, Blyton was the eldest of three children, and showed an early interest in music and reading. She was educated at St. Christopher's School, Beckenham, and - having decided not to pursue her music - at Ipswich High School, where she trained as a kindergarten teacher. She taught for five years before her 1924 marriage to editor Hugh Pollock, with whom she had two daughters. This marriage ended in divorce, and Blyton remarried in 1943, to surgeon Kenneth Fraser Darrell Waters. She died in 1968, one year after her second husband.
Blyton was a prolific author of children's books, who penned an estimated 800 books over about 40 years. Her stories were often either children's adventure and mystery stories, or fantasies involving magic. Notable series include: The Famous Five, The Secret Seven, The Five Find-Outers, Noddy, The Wishing Chair, Mallory Towers, and St. Clare's.
According to the Index Translationum, Blyton was the fifth most popular author in the world in 2007, coming after Lenin but ahead of Shakespeare.
bu dünya benim kendi harry potter'ım ve pek fazla kişi bunu bilmediği için memnunum. tek bir dileğim var: the land of secrets'a bir saatliğine gidip one direction'ın aslında neden ayrıldığını ve lady diana'nın başına neler geldiğini öğrenmek.
The kooky, whimsical and magical world of the Faraway Tree is a delight and I would give any child this set of books to see if they enjoyed them. Like most successful children's books it is vivid, simple and full of excitement. It both retains a formula for the episodes of adventure contained within, and follows larger stories about the characters. It has a universality in that it is not rooted in any culture or place, although it is identifiably based on a Western culture such as England or France. The sense of joy and delight throughout is the main attraction and I think this is what has made it an enduring classic piece of children's literature.
I haven't read it yet but I read up to page 1 because i really like the book so then I did a cliff hangers that I would get exited in the morning so then I can read the rest of it so I can finish a page 59 of it has 59 pages.🚮;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-)
still such a lovely, enchanting book. loved it so much as a child and still do now, full of magic and wonderful adventures to really get your imagination going.
My all time favorite set of books as a child. A series of adventures set in magical faraway lands with a lovely range of characters, even though it was released in 1939 when times were certainty different (The gender roles seem rather out of place in this modern age) the fun & sense of adventure will never date . I loved these stories when I was 8 year old (I found the Enchanted Wood at a car boot sale for £1) & I have just bought the hardback box set at 34 year old (Supposedly for my 7 year old neighbor but I ended up keeping it for myself)
