Definitely feels like the Queer Scooby Doo gang we’ve been missing with the added homage of paranormal ghost hunting I watch on tv. There is a possession going on of one of the crew members and the demon inside has a request that the rest of the gang needs to fulfill to save their friend who is currently this demon’s ‘host’. I loved this set up to the series so much and need more ASAP!

I was sent an eARC of this graphic novel through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I adored this spooky graphic novel so much, it's perfect for the Halloween season. It gives us ghosts and ghouls and demons as well as great characters. I couldn't put it down and the artwork is fantastic!

A fun YA graphic novel with ghostly features and the reporting aspect of a team added some adventure to it. It reminded me of Scooby Doo with the friends in the van set. It might have tried to do something similar with the hunters of supernatural forms.

This team follows a small town which is believed to be a place where ghosts exist and they are off to prove it. During this adventure, one of the team members was possessed by a ghost and there begins the negotiation with the ghost. A light read and pallet cleanser if you need one. The art was beautiful and full of vintage colours. Best suited for middle-grade to YA readers but anyone can enjoy the story for its simplicity.

I really enjoyed this graphic novel about a group of teenage ghost hunters. If you like spooky things and enjoy graphic novels this is a perfect fit for you. I hope there are more to read soon in the series.

This book wasn't as good as I hoped it would be. Two of the main characters are gay and not that I have any hate against that I just feel that there is a little to much of it put in kids and teens books

New and inventive

The story drew me in the moment I saw the first page. The art is fun to look at but all so rad. It really brings the feel of the story in. Loving the characters and the the immediate twist. Looking forward to the next issue.

Hello Again!

A few weeks ago, I found myself browsing Hoopla, looking for something new to read, preferably a graphic novel series. I really love graphic novels and despite picking up several different series have never been quite able to fill the hole in my heart left by Giant Days, Fence, and Saga. When scrolling through Hoopla, I stumbled upon this graphic novel series called Specter Inspectors! I decided the art style looked interesting and I would give it a try! So I went and checked the first issue out!

SPOILERS AHEAD

Noa, Gus, Ko, and Astrid all work together on the web show (it might be a television show it was not fully established) about ghost sightings/hunting! The group, has the recent realization that their ratings are in a decline so they had to this super haunted spot where one of them might accidentally get possessed by something? Also, two of the members spend their time fighting because would it be right to fake a sighting? Just to get more views, to keep the show alive?

I really really loved this first issue! I have been itching to go back and pick up the second one! So this might become a new long term graphic novel read for me! The characters were interesting, the plot twist was intriguing, and I am just excited to see where everything ends up! Also the art style was amazing through out!

(No entry for the full series so I'll just leave this here)

Okay, first off, I often complain when series get unnecessary sequels and a story that should have been wrapped up by issue 5/6 gets a big fat "To be continued in Volume 2" at the end. This, however, wraps up very neatly so... is it weird that I'd be very excited for a second volume? Out of all the books that BOOM has published recently, this one just screams "serialized in 5-issue arcs/TPBs" and I'm not gonna lie, I was disappointed to see a plain "Fin" at the end of this instead of a "The Specter Inspectors will be back!"

That said, this was a delightful, fun romp that's very much a queer take on Scooby-Doo and all those mystery solving kids that permeate the genre. It has fun designs, some really cool setpieces and very pleasant writing, which pulls it all together. I could really see this being a fun series if a continuation is in the cards.

Thanks to NetGalley for the e-book in exchange for an honest review.

Esta es una novela gráfica que comencé a leer sin saber mucho de ella previamente. Me sorprendió.

There have been reports of cult activity, spiritual unrest and shadowy figures lurking at the edge of your vision. Whispering voices in the night... a chill down your spine in the dead of summer.

Yes. Absolutely yes. Somebody described this first issue as a "the queer Scooby-Doo gang" in their review and I couldn't agree more. The art style was lovely (the colours were *chef's kiss*), the characters well fleshed-out and the plot delightfully spooky.

Queer ghost hunters set in a small town? Sign me up! This was a really quick and enjoyable read! I loved how relatable the characters were.

Most of the plot came together - the ghost in the library we never came back to though. Like the said they were gonna help her out but then it wasn’t clear if they did or didn’t. Besides this, the author built suspense through visual and narrative modes. Done very well!

Ok I could talk about this graphic novel all day but I’ll shut up. Read it!

Noa believes in ghosts. It makes it easier for her to hear them with her empathic abilities. Astrid is a skeptic and doesnt really believe in ghosts. She doesent believe it in so much that she uploads fake footage into their latest epsiode of "InSpookers". This upset Noa so much that she confronts Astrid about it. But as they are in their new location, something happens to Astrid in the tower. What possessed Astrid and how can the InSpookers crew get it out of Astrid?

Good energy and characters, but when they say episode 1, they mean it -- very short, hardly begins the story. Noa is a true believer and can hear spirit voices. Her crush Astrid seems to be possessed by a demon, and Gus and Ko are the camera crew and support along for the ride, investigating hauntings for a youtube show.

I’ve always been a fan of Scooby Doo and all things paranormal, so that on top of all of the representation that I’ve seen in just the first issue, I’m excited for this comic series. Also, I’m very entertained just by the different dynamics amongst the Spector Inspectors and am curious about how the group started.

I liked this. I like this art style it feels...comforting but fun? The characters and story are interesting and you get enough to feel involved in them right away. The "twist" i guess is kinda cool. Not the way I expected it to go.

I watch a lot of ghost hunting shows, whether televised (Ghost Adventures forever) or on youtube, so this group of queer youtuber ghost hunters getting into trouble while investigating a haunted town is exactly in my strike zone. Cute art, good characters, really fun.

Was given Vol. 1 (issues 1-5) by Boom Studios.

Loved the artwork, enjoyed the storyline, was confused by a few things, but enjoyed the characters and their relationships and loved the whole thing.
