The last place Lady Wenderley Davis ever expected to find herself after swearing off princes forever was living in a palace with two of them. Even if it is only temporary. And she did agree to it. Kind of. Against her better judgement.
But then, she’s never been one to hide her heart, nor hold back help from anyone who needs it. And if ever there’s a family who need help, it’s this one.
As two weeks stretch to more, Wenderley throws all she has into showing the princes and their family how to smile again, and she’s loving every moment of it. Which is a problem. Because she’s very quickly becoming attached, and—as the man she’d rather forget keeps reminding her—the one thing she can’t do is stay.
Australian author, Hannah Currie, loves God, family, people (in small numbers, let’s not go crazy here!) and writing. A book nerd from birth, she knows firsthand the difference a good book can make in a person’s life. Even, and especially, fiction. Her dream as a writer is to make people laugh, cry and maybe even swoon a little but mostly to remind them that no matter how dark life may get at times, because of God, there is always hope.
She and her husband live with their three adorable kids in sunny Queensland, where it really is beautiful one day and perfect the next. Except, maybe, during heatwaves. They’re not so fun.
Again, since this was told from a different point of view, I doubted I'd like it as much as the first two. BUT THEY ARE ALL AWESOME!!! Ryan was SO CUTE!!! (not a guy a six year old boy. XD) But Marcos was also amazing. His relationship with Ryan and Wenderly was really sweet! Also, what's his name creeper guy... i not likey..
This last book in The Daughters of Peverell series brings everything together in a truly touching way. My heart was melting with this last book, and I couldn’t put it down until I had finished. In this book, we find the importance of forgiveness, giving, and receiving it. Wenderley, really wasn’t a princess, but all her life, she had been friends with ones who were. At one time she even thought that life was the life she was destined to live, but that fell apart when her friends’ lives moved on but hers didn’t. Then she made one mistake, and she realized her life would never be the same. This story had so many tender moments. It truly was one that will stay with me for a long time. Even though it was based on the lives of “royals,” it dealt with issues we all struggle with. Self-worth and past mistakes are big struggles for so many individuals. Yet, this author wove beautiful lessons of acceptance and forgiveness in this story. Hannah Currie is now an author I will pick up and read. Her stories and delightful and easy to read.
Oh My Goodness, I have been waiting for this book to come out and it was amazing! Currie’s book keeps on getting better and better. I loved the characters and the story line. I just want to keep on rereading it and rereading it! Heart of the Crown is the third book in Hannah Currie’s Daughters of Peverell series. Wenderley finally gets her own book and it is even better than I had hoped. Lady Wenderley Davis never expected to find herself living in a place with two princes after swearing off princes forever. However she finds herself in the palace caring for Prince Marcos’ son. As she spends time with Marcos and Ryan she finds herself falling for this little family, but what happens when she has to leave? Is Wednerely meant to find her happy ending? I loved Wenderley, she was such a great character. I felt like I could relate to her, and I really liked reading her thoughts. She was so much fun. I loved how Wenderley was broken, she was human and she had her faults. However, she tried her best to cling to God and to serve him despite her faults. I think that reading about Wenderley struggling with her faith made her more real and made me like her more. I really enjoyed reading about Wenderley interacting with Ryan and the whole royal family. It was also cute to read about her talking to Marcos. Marcos was a big teddy bear, he cared deeply for others. He was broken but he was trying his best. He understood that he had a big responsibility and he was doing his best to care for those under his charge. I liked Marcos from the start of the book. He truly did love Ryan, he just didn't really know how to care for a kid. However Marcos had to learn to give everything to God and learn to rest in God’s forgiveness. Marcos and Wenderley were perfect together. However they needed to learn to work past their demons from the past. Wenderley needed to learn to forgive herself and Marcos needed to learn how to trust in someone when he believed that he needed to do everything himself. I just loved reading about Wenderely and Marcos together, how they helped bare each other’s burdens. Heart of the Crown is one of my favorites and it was simply amazing! I would definitely recommend this book! I think it would be best to read after the first two books, but you don't really have to. I can’t wait to see what else Currie writes!
I enjoyed the first two books in this series so much that I read the third one straight away. I found Lady Wenderley, the princess at the heart of this story, compelling, complex and unpredictable. As her story unfolded, the challenges she faced became interwoven with the hopes and dreams of another country's royal family and there were some tense moments of wondering how a happy-ever-after was ever going to appear on the page. I was especially pleased that some of the unresolved tension in the earlier books was dealt with in this third book. Altogether, I found this book to be enjoyable and thought-provoking and I'm pleased that I had the opportunity to read it.
Heart of the Crown by Hannah Currie is book #3 and did not disappoint! This series is so heartfelt and I love the beautiful lessons within. I really related with Wenderley and her wandering mind! It’s like looking into my scatterbrained head! I thought her conclusions were cute. I loved the little prince Ryan and their relationship. The love story is super cute and Marcos and Wenderley both have so much growing to do in the book. Marcos’ family is beautiful and I hope his sisters get a book
I LOVE LOVE LOVE this series, and this book made me cry, laugh, and fall in love with the characters. I cannot recommend Hannah Currie enough. She has a bright future!
I think this book is my favorite of the series! Wenderly…I have loved her since I was first introduced to her character! She is such a dear with a huge heart and love for everyone! I absolutely loved her! She was amazing and reminded me of myself in some ways! Marcos…I didn’t like him in the last book. But getting to see his heart in this one has made me feel for him and love him. I loved seeing his growth and maturity. He has made a lot of mistakes over the years, but he is fixing them. Marcos and Wenderly are so perfectly matched for each other! I didn’t like their first kiss though. Ryan is such a sweetheart! I wanted to wrap him up in a big hug! Who wouldn’t love him? I loved Marcos’ mother’s faith and her gentle spirit especially when she talked to Wenderly! The faith content was so good and beautiful! I loved it! This really was a beautiful book and end to the series with a powerful message! Just note: this does deal with some more serious topics such as wedlock and things of that nature.
Quotes that I liked:
💜 "Yes, I did. I know it sounds childish, but I want my kisses to mean something. To not only show affection but truly honor the man I choose to marry. It's a way for me to honor God too.”
💜 And, as if forgiveness wasn't enough, this man, a gift to remind me, every day of my life, that God knew me. Knew who I was. Knew what I needed. Knew I was far from perfect but loved me all the same.
Wenderly Davis has a heart too big to see a need and not do something about it. She also has some big regrets and a whole heap of pain that constantly haunts her. After agreeing to take care of young Prince Ryan as his governess, a sweet boy with a complicated family life, she becomes more attached to the royal family than she knows is wise. Despite her better judgement, Wenderly is determined to give the whole family something to smile about again. This romantic tale by Aussie author Hannah Currie is the third book in the Daughters of Peverell series and brings together your wildest fairytale imaginings with the reality of a broken world.
Heart of the Crown is hard not to love. The romance in this story was beautifully written and I loved that the characters had clear and unrelenting mistakes that they not only regretted but had ultimately altered their whole life. Their troubles made the plotline relatable, despite being beyond what I’m sure most of us would ever picture for our lives. The added layer of faith grounds the story and adds another dimension that truly portrays the true role of God in our lives as father, protector and refuge. I definitely recommend this story to anyone looking for a wonderful mix of faith, forgiveness and romance.
In the words of Wenderly Davis, “Crying doesn’t mean you're not brave. It means you really loved”
Lady Wenderley was already one of my favourite characters from this series, so it was wonderful to have a book that focussed on her. Some aspects of her story definitely took me by surprise, and her internal monologue was far more self-critical than I'd expected, so that was interesting. Another thing that took me by surprise was Prince Marcos. It was great to get more of him after seeing only glimpses of him and who he was in the other two books in the trilogy. Even in book 2, Heart of a Princess, the ins and outs of his character weren't really communicated, so it was enjoyable to experience that more. It was also good to see some other elements that had continued across all three books finally resolved in this one, leading to a satisfying conclusion. If you like Christian romantic fiction, definitely give this one a try.
I loved seeing how Wenderley came into her own in this book. She was a great support character in the previous books in this series but she is fantastic in this one. She fits in so well with the children yet she can rise to the formality of the royal adults.
Prince Marcos had me a little confused at the beginning of the book. He was very careful to separate himself from others but he definitely needed to connect with his son more.
I enjoyed seeing the mischief that Wenderley got into with the young Princesses and Prince Ryan. They had fun and it seemed to help others in the family work through the grieving process.
This one was my absolute favorite in the series. I’m not sure if it’s because I really really liked Wenderly and Marcos (even though I still haven’t decided if I like them better than Kenna and Ben, because I loved Kenna and Ben) or that I just liked their story and how it was told. It was interesting seeing how they got to know each other and just how much Wenderly cared. I love that in this story we got at least a little glimpse of how they felt for each other once they realized they both loved each other and it was ok. Wenderly was so quirky and I loved it!
Heart of the Crown by Hannah Currie Book 3 in the Daughters of Peverell series Rating: 5/5
Guys, I balled my eyes out during the reading of this tremendous story. I'm sad that this is the final book of this amazing series. Every book in the series just keeps getting better and better. I highly recommend reading the first two books in the series first because then there won't be any spoilers.
Lady Wenderley Davis has had a tough year or so. She's had her heart broken by a prince and has vowed to never have that happen again. However, when her friend asks her to become the temporary governess for the young Prince Ryan who just lost his mother, she feels like it might be a God thing (or Godwink or divine moment - whatever you like to call it). Wenderley has been praying for the young prince and his family for a while and is willing to do what she can to care for them. She is determined to only stay for a few weeks but with the Queen's encouragement, she keeps staying longer and longer. She easily falls in love with young Ryan and tries to help his distant father, Crown Prince Marcos, to spend more time with him. As she wears her heart on her sleeve, Wenderley tries her best not to get too attached to the royal family but it's difficult because she knows that she can't stay. Wenderley also has a secret and even though she's far from home, her past still comes back to haunt her. Will Wenderley ever be truly free from her past? Can she be forgiven for her mistake? Can she separate her feelings for Ryan and his handsome father before it's too late?
Seriously, the relationship between Wenderley (Can I call her Wen? lol) and Ryan is absolutely adorable and so heart-wrenchingly beautiful. Obviously, if you've read the previous books, you understand that the relationship between Marcos and his son is complicated, but there's one particular scene where I couldn't stop tearing up. But my favorite scene came towards the end and I definitely had a cathartic cry. lol. I'm definitely that person. There was just something so beautiful and cleansing about that scene - the author really "preaches" some beautiful and relevant messages about forgiveness and faith - I made so many highlights near the end.
Obviously, I highly recommend this book and series. Way to go out with a bang! I'm sad the series is over and hope to read more from this author in the future! If you love stories about imperfect royals and the power of love and forgiveness, I highly recommend this series. FYI there were plenty of parts that also made me laugh and sigh.
What are you waiting for? Read this now! (unless you need to read the first two books first) ;)

I picked up this new series and read all 3. This being the third. I love how the author weaves faith and grace into her books, and explores the self doubts and failures we all have. Each book was better than the last. I can’t wait to see what she will write in years to come.
I could not put this down! This one may have been my favorite in the series. The romance was gorgeous and the lessons of faith will stay with me for a long time. I can't wait to see what other books Hannah has in store!
I loved this incredible story of faith and forgiveness. So many twists and turns to get to the point where a heart truly accepts the forgiveness freely given. Hannah is an amazing storyteller and I am anxious to read her next book.
Could not put this book down. So easy to read and a great story line. You could tell what was going to happen but there were a lot of swists and turns through out the book that made you second guess yourself. Love this trilogy.
A really well done finale to the Daughters of Peverell series. I liked the depth of emotion in the story and little Ryan was adorable. Enjoyed this series!
Absolutely my favorite yet! Fun, inspiring, and so, so worth the read. I love how much of a romance it is but also keeping it realistic and almost like you are the main character yourself
This was the BEST of all three books! The author had me laughing on page one and all throughout the book. The humor was outstanding so many of the characters which made this an absolute delight to read. The budding romance between Marcos and Wenderley is just lovely, as well as heartbreaking as they deal with their own pasts. I cannot say enough good things about this book and Hannah Currie. I look forward to reading more of her books as they become available. Five stars all the way!
I like to round up where I can! Seriously this was lovely. I loved the redemption arc from the first 2 books. I thought that was excellent, and incredibly thought provoking. The story was good. I think the strength of this book is the entire series.
I have to be honest and say that I didn't really remember much of this story from the first time I read it. I didn't even remember who Wenderley fell in love with. This time I don't think I'll ever forget this story.
I think I am a different person now than the first time I read this book and seeing how Wenderley's heart drives her life in the best way possible really touched me this time around. I was completely wrapped up in her whimsical nature and her brightly decorated shoes and her artistic tendencies and her love for children and teens. My heart also broke along with hers, especially towards the end.
The message of grace and forgiveness was so well shown through the story. I also loved that different parts of Wenderley's life were redeemed, like how letters started out as a bad thing and the last one of the book ended up being so beautiful I cried.
I will read everything Hannah Currie writes, no doubt.
My favourite of these three novels. Hannah ends this trilogy on a high note with the incredible story of Wenderly and Prince Marcos. Ryan's antics, as well as the various pranks, were the perfect antidote to the heavier content. Also, everyone needs a Queen Galielle in their life.
