I am extremely disappointed with this book. When it was released in Australia there was lots of fanfare about what a fantastic book it was. I dutifully ordered it online and I am so disappointed with all of the English ingredients that are listed in many of the recipes. Surely it could have been adapted for the Australian market!! I mean haddock and Kippers...can you even but them in Australia and who would want to when we have such beautiful ingedients that could have been substituted it the publisher and authors had been serious about the book making a difference. I won't be buying any others any time soon that's for sure.
The fast 800 recipe books have been ruined by Justine Pattison's involvement. So much better when they were Claire's recipes! Hugely not a fan of Pattison's rather odd recipes, and I see her paws all over this! Yuck. Sooo disappointed, ordered this way back in November and eagerly awaiting. Pattison's recipes are fairly awful, and far from the stated 'easy' and everyday. Drop her please, Claire! So much better without her.
The recipes here are ok. They all seem to be too watered down for me and inspire me to Americanize them. Many of the ingredients I’m simply not I interested in. I took these recipes and nutrition content and went looking for similar ones in Skinnytaste which have so much more flavor and interest. A good jumping off point but not the easy resource I expected.
Have made lots of the recipes in this book. Some have become favourites, because they’re simple, nutritious and filling. They’ve helped me kick my sugar intake and I really look forward meal times, knowing my appetite will be satisfied.
