A quiet holiday in the mountains is all that Hollywood movie star Joshua Hawkley desires. Yet when irresistible redhead Rosie Harrison drops into his life and disrupts his peace, Joshua's desires begin to change. Can he convince her to hang around long enough to meet him under the mistletoe?
Snowbound Bride by Shirley Jump
A Christmas Eve blizzard leaves Marietta stranded in an airport with Reed Hartstone, the only man to ever break her heart. Perhaps rekindling the past may actually be their perfect Christmas present.
Their Christmas Vows by Margaret McDonagh
Frazer McIntosh knows exactly what he wants for Christmas--Callie Grogan. Despite his reputation as a fun-loving Romeo, Frazer is serious about his beautiful colleague. Serious enough to love her forever, if only she'll agree to be his Christmas bride....

I love holiday anthologies. This one was 2/3's great.
I loved Carole Mortimer's story, His Christmas Eve Proposal. It gave a bit of glamor to the holiday season with actor Joshua Hawkley taking the spotlight and his heroine the in hiding Rosie Harrison. He wants a quiet holiday away from Hollywood and she is hiding from her mother's managing ways and getting away from her newly canceled Christmas Eve wedding. They meet because she's the daughter of Joshua's good friend and employee Donald. Sparks fly from the minute they meet til the moment they say I do.
The second story is Snowbound Bride. I probably liked this one the best of the bunch. Its the story of two high school sweethearts from small town America who are reunited during a Christmas snowstorm in Chicago. Both have gone on to lives that are successful but feel unfulfilled. Marietta has a successful business designing wedding dresses and Reed has made it in the world of finance, but they are missing something.
What made this the stand out story is that the characters while in an unbelievable situation were very believable and likable. Even though you wanted to pop Marietta in the nose a few times, you couldn't help but love her and understand her frustrations, and how could you not love a hero that bought the dream house of his high school sweetheart and decorated it in the manner that she had planned? This story was pure Christmas magic!
The last story is Their Christmas Vows. I have to say that this story did nothing for me and I had to force myself to finish it. Frazer the playboy was a sweet hero, but it was Callie that kept me from liking the story. She was just too pity me for my liking. Callie had breast surgery that went wrong and left one breast disfigured because of some pre-cancerous cells. Her ex-husband tells her that she's undesirable and she believes it and doesn't want to get close to anyone.
I just couldn't like her and it spoiled an otherwise enjoyable anthology of short stories.
This review is for story 1 His Christmas Eve Proposal. I have yet to read number 2, and my review for number 3 is here: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
This was a quick, enjoyable read by CM. I happen to like CM’s books quite a bit. Since this is a novella, I won’t go into much detail.
Basically, the hero Hawk is an actor who has gone back to his peaceful home in Canada. He is waiting for his family to arrive. He is shocked to find a young woman in his bedroom when he exits his shower. Being a popular actor, he is used to the unwanted affections of wayward fans and or actresses looking to get a leg up in their career. He immediately jumps to conclusions that the woman, who has just brought him his tea, is of the same ilk. Meanwhile, the woman in question, our heroine Rosie, is rather evasive with her answers. She is actually helping out the H’s butler/manservant who is sick with the flu. What unfolds is a series of miscommunications/misunderstandings, the enemies to lovers vibe, secrets, and a hero who has become infatuated quickly. So, quickly, that these two are engaged within a matter of days.
We do get some angst along the way, and CM gives us a sweet epilogue to show us that all is right with the world a year later. Overall this 100 page story is better than most stories of the same length found in the KU universe.
His Christmas Eve Proposal. Rating: 1 First I thought it was promising, but soon it turned boring for me. I can't say what I disliked the most, but few little things just annoyed me. Donald never mentioning to Hawk that he has a daughter, even though they are friends. Rosie not having enough cash, even though she is rich, why she only has credit card.. How the hell her engagement to Edmund Price happened? I understand she said her mother made her do it, but hey, she is 22 and financially independent! Her attitude was nasty towards Hawk, her fathers employer and owner of the house she is staying in (because she her nowhere else to go, even though she is world famous rich musician). Yet, she was OK to be forced in to unwanted engagement... And proposal in the airport, no no... Just not my kind of story. Snowbound Bride. Rating: 3 I think I would have enjoyed it more if it was a movie... My favourite moment was Reeds conversation with the wise old man in the airport, it made me cry, so touching... One thing was strange though- they had blood tests done to get married. What? Their Christmas Wows. Rating: 4 Medical romances are not my cup of tea, but I liked this story. There were moments to cry and to laugh. I loved Frazer and also Annie. Callie was nice girl too. If I could change one thing, I would remove birth in the farm or make it different- more complicated maybe.. Didn't like the fact that immediate skin to skin and breastfeeding ASAP didn't happen (But that's just small detail, and its just me- cause I'm passionate about birth) Loved long and happy ending. Overall, I think, there wasn't enough of Christmas spirit in this book, so I'm happy I read it now, rather than leaving it for Christmas eve, I would have been disappointed then. Will keep this book anyway, maybe I will to reread it in future.
3 stories in one...the first story, His Christmas Eve Proposal, was difficult for me to get through. Every other sentence ended with an exclamation! It drove me crazy! It seemed unnecessary! Okay, so enough of me repeating what was done in the book...I enjoyed both Snowbound Bride and Their Christmas Vows. Both cute and sweet with the inevitable happy endings.
