Are you ready to catch up with your favorite characters on the tiny lowcountry island of Seagrove, SC?
When we last left off, there was a big wedding and an addition to the family. But, what happens when a new resident moves to town and shakes things up?
And what will everyone do when a familiar face shows up and creates chaos during the holidays?
Hey there! Before I tell you all about myself, can I invite you to join my private Rachel's Readers Facebook group? That's where my readers hang out, discuss my books, participate in giveaways and learn about new releases.
So who am I? My name is Rachel Hanna, and I am a wife, mother of three incredible kids (maybe I am a BIT biased?), two lovable doggies and one cat that lives outside and thinks he owns the world. Okay, I also have a gecko now too. Don't judge me.
I started writing as a young child, and I went into the field of Journalism for many years as an adult. Now, as a romantic fiction writer, I get to live out my own daydreams every single day and share them with readers around the world!
I'm a Southern chick living near Atlanta, so I say "yes, ma'm" and "ya'll", but I wouldn't have it any other way. :)
The ending of this one was very abrupt and strange and not resolved at all. I've liked all the other books in this series, but this one was not my favorite.
This is a series that I have really enjoyed. I like to have ongoing stories with the characters that I have gotten to know and love, and who doesn't like a good Christmas story.
It feels weird to read a Christmas book in the middle of May, but since this book is a part of a series, I didn’t want to wait until December! Haha! This is one of my favorite book series!
Is anyone else really annoyed that the author refers to Colleen’s prior career as a lawyer in California when she is only 21 and hasn’t even graduated from college? What the heck? I accidentally purchased the whole Seagrove series and feel compelled to plow through but these are the most sappy, unimaginative books I have read in a long time. They make Nicholas Sparks books look like important literature. The book is full of beautiful people living charmed lives. There is absolutely no conflict that is not resolved in 2 pages. However, I wish Seagrove was a real town - I checked- because I want to live there.
I read this book because it was the next in the series even though it is a Christmas setting. I was afraid if I skipped it I would miss an important part in the story line. It introduced a new character I will see if that character shows up in other books.

A Seagrove Christmas is book 6 in the South Carolina Sunsets series by Rachel Hanna.
As we continue on during the holidays with Julie and Dawson and Tyler, William and Janine, Colleen and Tucker, Meg, Christian and baby Vivi, Dixie and Harry and SuAnn along with other characters coming to light...
This story shows their lives ebbing and flowing on a journey through life, twists and turns, ups and downs, a surprise engagement, making new friends, connecting with old friends and hopefully finding a HEA many decades in the making...
Ms. Hanna has taken us on an unforgettable journey and I am looking forward to more books in this series...
This is the 6th book in the series but can work as a stand alone. I was just looking for available Christmas books on Libby. You don’t need to have read the prior books. You can jump in without fear.
Tina (a stranger) lands on the island. Julie invites her to stay at their inn for Christmas. Julie & her hubby have adopted a boy named Dillon whose father is deceased & mother abandoned him.
Julie’s mom gets a surprise visit from a high school sweetheart that wants to whisk her away but she’s just reunited with her daughter.
Dixie’s step-daughter needs to come to terms with her while Dixie’s son is decorating a float.
The nice thing about this series is that each book is short and picks up where the last one left off. I think this may be the best one in the series, even though I have several more books to read. This one was at a slower pace, no rushing at the end, and even though most should figure out who the new person is, she tells a good story that really could be true. I was adopted and always love reading/hearing other stories about someone’s experience with adoption. Rachel Hanna did an excellent job and should be praised with the feelings she put behind all involved.
I haven’t read any books in this series but I decided to pick this one up because it was short and Christmas theme. If you like very lighthearted, superficial cheesy small town drama like books then this is right up your alley. For me, if I like small-town books I tend to drift towards more of a cozy mystery or a witty repartee So it’s not fair for me to give it a bad rating but at the same time, very predictable and not that much depth.
Well… I had Tina figured out a little too early in the book. When that “surprise ending” was taken away (predictable) it made the ending feel abrupt and not fully resolved. Maybe we’ll find out more about Tina in the next books. I gave this only three stars. Maybe it would have gotten four had I read it in December instead of April. Ho Ho Ho.
More sugary than Low Country sweet tea and very predictable. Not nearly as good as the first few books in this series. If a Hallmark movie is your cup of tea, this is for you.
The whole book I was trying to figure out who's daughter was whose and who's mother was who's. Just couldn't get into the story because of Julie,Dixie,Janine,Lucy,Colleen,Meg,etc.etc.
✨ Book Review: A Seagrove Christmas by Rachel Hanna ✨
A Seagrove Christmas is the kind of holiday read that instantly slows you down and wraps you in warmth. Set in the charming coastal town of Seagrove, this story blends Christmas magic with heartfelt emotions, gentle romance, and the comfort of familiar faces coming together during the holidays.
Rachel Hanna excels at writing stories that feel like coming home, and this book is no exception. The pacing is calm and cozy, allowing the relationships to unfold naturally. Themes of family, forgiveness, and second chances shine throughout, making the story feel both meaningful and uplifting. The festive details—twinkling lights, shared meals, and quiet moments of reflection—add a lovely seasonal charm without feeling overdone.
What makes this book especially enjoyable is its emotional sincerity. It’s not about grand drama, but about small, tender moments that linger long after you’ve finished reading.
Perfect for fans of clean romance and small-town holiday stories, A Seagrove Christmas is a comforting December read that leaves you smiling.
🎄 Cozy, heartfelt, and full of Christmas spirit. 🎄
Rachel Hanna is one of my favorite authors. I could not wait for A Seagrove Christmas to be released. This book is the sixth in the South Carolina Sunset Series. You don’t have to read all of the other books before you read this one, but you will definitely want to read them if you read this one first.
A Seagrove Christmas is a delightful story centered around our favorite characters. A stranger, Tina, comes to town, and kind-hearted Julie invites her to stay at the inn. She is harboring secrets, we soon find out. An old boyfriend comes to town to rekindle a romance with Julie’s Mom. Will she want to leave since her relationship with her daughters has greatly improved!? Dixie’s new stepdaughter comes to town to stay with her and Harry. Things don’t start off do well. These are just some of the internal stories that keep you on the edge of your seat.
A Seagrove Christmas was an easy read and a heartwarming Christmas story that will put you in the Christmas mood!
A Seagrove Christmas is the sixth book in Rachel Hanna’s South Carolina Sunsets Series. Ms. Hanna wrote a wonderful story which drew me right in, making me forget everything else and did not let me go until I turned the last page. I could not put this book down. I had fun visiting Seagrove and catching up with all the characters seeing how their lives are working out. Everyone is getting ready for Christmas. A Seagrove Christmas is very well written the characters well defined and believable. Ms. Hanna’s descriptions are so vivid you feel you are right there with the characters. This book shows that everyone has the Christmas Spirit. I highly recommend this book and series. I'm excited to see what she has in store for us next!
I'm hooked on this series, so I'm going to continue reading these books no matter what. The story lines pull your heartstrings and they generally will finish off without letting you down. However, I will say that as I've gotten deeper in these books I get a little picky about a few things. Some of the story lines are becoming predictable. Another thing is, I feel like the author has the female character traits totally locked in, but the males.. not so much. I've never, in real life, met so many men that are so deep into their feelings. Maybe I just don't know enough guys from the low country.
Either way, this is a great series, and I especially loved reading this one during the holidays!
I’ve enjoyed all of the books in this series including this one. One small detail in this book bothered me. The idea that not having a baby by your early thirties or being in your mid forties is really late to have an eight year old is a very antiquated idea in 2022. Most women today don’t have babies in their early twenties. It’s a small detail but it seemed to me that it could give the wrong message to slightly older women of childbearing age. Other than that I truly enjoyed the book and look forward to reading the next two.
A Seagrove Christmas is one of my favorites in the series! Rachel Hanna has done a fantastic job capturing the warmth and magic of the holiday season in Seagrove. The characters, as always, are so well-developed, and I loved seeing how their stories continue to unfold. This book has all the feel-good vibes you’d expect—it’s heartwarming, uplifting, and a perfect read to cozy up with during the holidays. If you’re looking for a book that will leave you smiling and feeling joyful, this one is a must-read!
Each book in the South Carolina Sunsets series gets better and better. Loving reading about the family and friends to see what is new in their lives. It’s like you are part of this group and you feel their joys and worries. Since the book is set during the Christmas season, you feel the joy. Many different twists and turns, you won’t want to put the book down so you can find out what happens next. Looking forward to the next book to read about characters that feel like family.
It was an enjoyable story, however some of the storylines were a bit predictable others were a little farfetched but all in all I was still entertained. The ending was a bit of a letdown. I had guessed from the beginning that Tina was Dylan’s biological mother and the big reveal wasn’t that big and Julie’s reaction didn’t seem realistic. Then Tina was just gone and bam end of story? It needs more that ending doesn’t play out well.
This is the sixth book about two sisters getting a second chance at love. Occurs in a small coastal South Carolina town.A family pulls together to overcome any obstacles that occur. Looking forward to reading the next chapter due to be published in early 2021.
Love how the members of this family come together and love a small town Christmas! Most of us seem to be on our best behavior during the Christmas season, maybe we are really trying to be more Christ-like? There are a few twists and turns, a few misunderstandings, but everything works out and folks are ready for new beginnings.
Love these books so much. I have only one left and hate for them to end. But another series is waiting. This one was about Christmas time and family, lived the end. Thank you Rachel for writing these books has given me some to look forward to each day. I try to read one of two chapters a day. Great books to have with Covid. ENJOY.
A very cute holiday novel. Julie and Dawson aregetting ready to celebrate Christmas with the son that they recently adopted. A woman comes into the bookstore one day and seems down on her luck and Julie befriends her and asks her to stay at their Inn.
The chapter breaks were a little odd which sometimes had me confused as to who we were talking about now but overall I really liked it.
