USA Today Bestselling Author! As seen on NBC’s TODAY Show - Stephanie Laska lost 140 pounds, roughly half of her body weight, by following her own outlaw version of a ketogenic diet. She figured out that the secret to losing weight without the crazy restrictions of a traditional keto diet was to break the rules and create her own “dirty” and “lazy” outlaw version of keto.

With over 20,000 positive reviews on Goodreads, readers agree. DIRTY, LAZY, KETO is a refreshing alternative to strict dieting. Losing weight shouldn’t be so complicated.

Stephanie spent most of her adult life in the Morbidly Obese Class III BMI category. Hovering close to 300 pounds, she avoided booths at restaurants and feared not fitting into amusement park rides. “I once put my jacket over my lap so the flight attendant wouldn’t see that my seatbelt wouldn’t close,” she admits.

Desperation and embarrassment motivated Stephanie to stop living in denial about her obesity. The DIRTY, LAZY, KETO books explain the unique keto diet Stephanie followed to achieve her amazing weight loss success. Using humor and simple explanations, Stephanie walks the reader through her personal manifesto for effective weight loss and maintenance. Her way is doable. Nothing fancy is required! (Especially not complicated math.)

Stephanie has kept off a 140 pounds weight loss for almost a decade and believes DIRTY, LAZY, KETO is a practical solution for everyone. We all know losing weight isn’t as simple as “cutting carbs”. It takes so much more, and Stephanie is here to help you get started with cookbooks and starter guides for all things DIRTY, LAZY, KETO.

This is a fun keto cookbook with lots of tasty sounding recipes. The author is very likeable and encouraging, and has maintained a 140 pound weight loss for 8 years so she's well suited to be giving advice. There are lots of color photos and nutritional information is provided. She uses a lot of packaged and processed foods that I don't, but there were still lots of recipes that I am looking forward to trying. This isn't my favorite keto cookbook but it's one of the better ones I've read.

I read a temporary digital ARC of this book for review.

When cooking and eating gets too complicated, then count Stephanie (I feel as if I can call her Stepanie, as she’s so personable) and me out.

This is a gem of cookbook for families like mine that just can’t deal with unrelenting keto. One hundred yummy recipes that you can make on a weeknight — what’s not to like? From Lightning-Speed Slaw and No Bake “Potato” Soup to Close the Chicken Early Quesadillas and Snappy Stuffed Salmon, Laska has you covered. You even get to have pizza — yes, pizza! — and fudge and ice cream on this diet. Laska lost a whopping 140 pounds, and she makes me think I can lose the 80 I need to lose, too. Highly, highly recommended.

And it’s available for free with Kindle Unlimited. Too perfect!

Originally published on my blog: Nonstop Reader.

The DIRTY, LAZY, KETO No Time to Cook Cookbook is is a new tutorial and recipe collection for keto cooks in a hurry. Due out 5th Jan 2021 from Simon & Schuster on their Adams Media imprint, it's 224 pages and will be available in paperback and ebook formats. The authors have several other "Dirty Lazy Keto" cookbooks in the same series and with similar formats. This one has an emphasis on quick preparation and simple presentation.

The introduction covers the basics of the keto lifestyle/diet, including a basic primer on ketosis, macronutrients, tips, ingredients, tools, supplies, how-to, pantry lists and shopping tips, along with an inspiring author background bio. She emphasizes that it's not necessary to spend a ton of money and track every mouthful to be successful at weight loss and maintenance. I found her encouraging and you-can-do-it style of writing engaging and fun. There's also a short, concise subchapter on food handling and safety, which was welcome.

The following chapters include the recipes arranged roughly by category: breakfast, soups & salads, snacks, pizza, side dishes, main dishes, and desserts & drinks. The table of contents lists each recipe along with symbols giving a visual guide to different real-life situations (recipes for "hangry" moments, for picky eaters, lacto-ovo vegetarian-ish dishes, superstar keto dishes etc - quite humorous but also *true*).

Ingredient measurements are supplied in American standard measurements only. There's a conversion chart for metric measures in the appendices. The prep times, net carbs, servings, and tips and options are listed in well laid out sidebars. The ingredients are listed in a bullet list followed by step by step directions. The author does recommend real-world timesavers like using premade taco powder (the recipes rely heavily on premade (often precooked) ingredients - this is *not* slow cooking from scratch). Allied recipes (included) are referenced in the recipes to save time by using leftovers from one recipe in another recipe. The recipes are drawn from a surprisingly broad number of world cuisines - Asian, southwestern, Tex-Mex, Cajun, European, etc.

Inspiring real life quotes and thoughts are highlighted in yellow in the text, giving readers an extra little boost. Some readers might find the cheerleading over the top, but I found the author's voice very encouraging and friendly. I found myself thinking "wow, she really gets it".

This really felt like a keto-friendly cookbook for me: short on time/money, impatient with impossible-to-source "weird" ingredients, and cooking for myself and a family of non-keto eaters. I found it impressive and pretty easy to follow. A small real-life occurrence - my endocrinologist said at my last visit I was his ONLY patient who had actually gone DOWN in weight since lockdown. That made me feel good.

Five stars. I really like (and use) this entire series of cookbooks. One codicil, there are very few pictures included in the book. The dishes and serving suggestions which are included are attractive and appropriate, however.

Disclosure: I received an ARC at no cost from the author/publisher for review purposes

I really enjoyed this cookbook. It was broken down really well and is very easy for someone researching or beginning keto to understand. I loved how it showed that while many may chose the route of strict keto that there are ways to incorporate dirty keto and still lose weight, maintain your weight loss or just lead a healthier lifestyle. The pictures are such great bonus as it lets you see exactly the types of food you'll be preparing.

I will definitely be adding this to my cookbook collection!!

I have started Keto cooking over a year ago but this is the first cookbook by Stephanie Laska that I have looked at.

She seems to be knowledgeable about Keto cooking which encouraged me to continue looking at the recipes in this book.

This book includes 100 recipes that are easy to prepare and quick to the table.

I recommend this book.

I was given this book by Adams Media and NetGalley in exchange for my honest review. All opinions are my own.

Until I read this cookbook I didn't know what a Keto diet was. The author presents modified Keto recipes with the premise that everyone is different with different dietary needs. Out of the recipes given, some I'll try and others are not my cup of tea. Overall, interesting, informative, and easy to read. This was a free review copy through Goodreads.com.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an uncorrected ARC of this book in exchange for an unbiased review.
I think I was a little misled by the title and cover of this book. I did not expect that everything would require expensive ingredients and specialty kitchen gadgets. I know it doesn’t say “cheap “but I feel like the title and cover implied that… My bad.
Start with what I liked: I like the explanations at the beginning but felt they were a little incomplete. Just adding a super simple logical/scientific explanation -something akin to “this works because protein fills you up, fat keeps you full, and sugar/carbs cause a brief period of satiety followed by a quick crash - would have added a lot of credibility and confidence in the author. Something more than “I did it and it worked.”
The recipe directions are simple but some entail so many ingredients it made my head hurt. I like the colorful chart for each recipe that gives nutritional information, and there is a nice array of various foods for lots of palates and dietary restrictions (her key at the beginning is cute!).
No the not-so-good...
I guess, for me, the big question is… Why? Why bother to buy this book? What makes it stand out from the hundreds of other keto cookbooks on the market? These are many of the same recipes, what makes these “quick” and “lazy” is that they rely on ready-made ingredients (premade riced cauliflower, precut veggies) and fancy equipment.
Maybe a better title would be “The Keto Kookbook for People With Money to Spare” or “Expensive Shortcuts to Make Cooking Keto Faster and Easier”?

The DIRTY, LAZY, KETO No Time to Cook Cookbook is a kitchen must have! Stephanie Laska is a talented chef, recipe creator and one of the funniest writers I have read. How could you not love an author who admits that “From second grade to my second marriage, I tended to weigh more that anyone else in the room”? And now she’s lost 140 lbs. and kept it off. How? By following what she calls a flexible, honest approach to weight loss. This is a no excuses cookbook. All of these delicious, gorgeously photographed meals can be made in 30 minutes or less.

In the introduction to each of these recipes, Stephanie explains why she created these dishes. There are also tips and options, giving substitution ideas, suggesting uses for leftovers and more. A guide indicates, among others, that the recipe uses only one pot, makes enough for two or is vegetarian. I’m looking forward to trying No Fuss Pho, Lightning Speed Salad and Thai Time Crunch Salad first. Stephanie and her co-author and husband William Laska have written another unique, creative cookbook for Keto dieters and everyone else! 5 stars.

Thank you to NetGalley, Adams Media and Stephanie and William Laska for this ARC.

I'm new to Keto dieting and have found myself feeling better already. However, I was getting bored with my options. This cookbook opens up a large variety that I think readers will be surprised by. The tips are excellent and the recipes easy to follow. The authors experience shines through and adds a bit of a support system to encourage readers. There are a lot of Keto books out there but this one stands out. Highly recommend no matter where you are in your lifestyle journey.

While I am still new to the Keto Lifestyle, I am always fascinated by people who cook and prepare recipes that are so delicious. So this Dirty, Lazy, Keto Cookbook is right up my alley. It did not disappoint either. I was thrilled to read some of the "Kitchen Tips" so that meal prep and cooking is kept to 30 minutes start to finish! Stephanie and William Laska have put together a great cookbook with recipes that cover all kinds of meats, vegetables, desserts and more.

Learning about how to cook Keto style is challenging without some expert help. I would call these two experts and have tried several of the recipes. They are all delicious, easy to prepare and leave you feeling very satisfied. I would recommend this book to anyone who is contemplating a Keto Lifestyle in their future.

This book will be published in Feb. 2021 and I would highly recommend that you book mark that date on your calendars, so you won't miss it.

This book was made available to me through the Netgalley.com group.

Talk about good timing! I had been strictly adhering to keto for a few years and then fell away during these strange times of covid. This is the nudge I need to get back into feeling better and to lose weight, too. Though my cooking is often complex (I have a lot of time on my hands!) it's great to see a fresh batch of quick keto recipes for those blah times. It's fired up my imagination and inspired me to return to the keto lifestyle!

Key points are highlighted in yellow. The book is written in a very accessible manner, easy to understand, along with icons describing dishes such as . She explains at the beginning of the book what to eat more of and what to avoid, all the while rooting her readers on and setting us up for success. She also gives ideas for creating a better workspace, organizing time, her top 10 hacks and various other tips such as making/preparing double what you normally would. And then come the recipes. One of my keto struggles (have celiac) is to find breakfast inspiration. Well, the Hot-Footed Homestyle "Potatoes" look fabulous...and aren't what you think! The No Fuss Pho looks delicious as does Step On It Pickle Stackers. In fact, that was our lunch today! Tomorrow's lunch will be Go Go Grilled Cheese...haven't tried this idea before. I cannot wait to try Short Order Sriracha Brussels Sprouts! They'd go splendidly with Clock's Tickin' Vodka Chicken. And the fudge...another great ingredients blend idea.

The back of the book is dedicated to information including calculating carbs and conversions. You will like that the number of net carbs, nutritional information, time involved and tips/options are listed for each recipe.

If you are interested in beginning the keto lifestyle and/or a beginner cook, this is a wonderful place to start. If you are already knowledgeable and an expert cook, this also has many new and interesting ideas.

My sincere thank you to Adams Media and NetGalley for providing me with an ARC of this fun and very practical Keto book in exchange for an honest review. Much appreciated.

Keto this, Keto that. Keto seems to be THE in way of eating right now and there ear eno shortage of books on the topic. This cookbook is another, but what I love most about it is the author herself has lost a ton of weight on it and shares her tips and recipes. From breakfast to soups to quesadillas and more, she has you covered.

One of the things I love most is that the author acknowledges that dirty Keto isn’t for everyone. With that said, there are still a bunch of recipes in here that you CAN make even if you are eating strict Keto! Kudos on that!

This cookbook had a wide variety of recipes for all ability levels, some of which I'm really excited to try out. The format is accessible and the nutritional information is included with net carbs right at the top. This is a good resource for anyone looking to add variety to their low carb lifestyle.

"Want to try the keto diet but don’t have enough time to cook elaborate meals from scratch? No problem! USA TODAY bestselling author and creator of DIRTY, LAZY, KETO offers the perfect solution with these quick and easy recipes that you can make in no time."

Thank you Netgalley and Adams Media for the eGalley of this book!

I liked this book enough to get out her original book actually explaining her Keto process. I have to say I was a bit confused why she used so much alternative flour and had so many higher net carb recipes in this book. I had to read her weight loss book to understand her keto theory. I don't think a lot of things were explained in this book as I was confused as what zero carb sugar substitute she uses and some ingredients. She goes into much more detail in her earlier book. The recipes in this book are higher in net carbs and I don't think would be good for someone starting keto. This would be good for someone in maintenance. So I'm going to skip this book for now, follow her earlier book and see what happens!

This is a cookbook for those interested in the ketogenic diet as the recipes are all very low carbohydrate. Laska has written a series of "Dirty, Lazy, Keto" books and this is the latest. As a nutritionist I think that the ketogenic diet can be an excellent short term diet to lose weight, although I have concerns about it from a nutritional standpoint if used very long term. The term "lazy keto" means counting only carbohydrates. The term "dirty keto" means using ingredients that are low carbohydrate, regardless of food quality.
I would not personally use this book because I prefer real, organic whole foods whenever possible. The cookbook may be of use to someone just starting a ketogenic diet and coming from the Standard American junk food diet.

Stephanie does it again! I don't know she she continues to churn out one amazing book after another, but I'm here for it. In her latest tome, she delivers recipe after recipe that are quick and easy to make when following a Keto diet. The ingredients are for the most part standard things you would have at home--there are a few specialty ingredients for some recipes, but if you are following Keto, you would be familiar with the products. Her recipes are not fussy or time-consuming--this collection promises you will be eating in under 30 minutes with many being much shorter than that. Another great bunch of recipes!

Dirty, Lazy, Keto Cookbook a fun remedy
Posted on January 12, 2021 by michellelovatosbookreviews, world's first book color commentator
It is the new year and billions of us are dieting … again. Never fear. Stephanie Laska, MEd, and William Laska have just the right kind of dieting cookbook for you.
The Dirty, Lazy, No Time to Cook, Keto Cookbook is here. This book includes 100 easy recipes ready in under 30 minutes. And those recipes are good.
Stephanie Laska, who lost 140 pounds following this dieting format, believes in her product and believes in the body’s ability to reverse its health conditions with proper food. The best part about the Laskas’ beliefs is getting it done fast.
This cookbook is a unique twist on the traditional diet approach. Though she believes in using nutritious, whole-food, like so many other traditional diet cookbook authors, Laska also believes in obtaining the right tools for the job of preparing meals and having those tools conveniently located alongside her menus ready-to-cook-with ingredients. The Laskas spend a decent amount of time talking to cookbook readers about how to organize their cook space and lifestyle to make the cooking process fast and easy.
Pretty novel idea. But admittedly, probably not one most people will actually follow-through and complete.
Laska’s recipes are not only time-inspired but also family-friendly, as she raised two children through the time she lost her 140 pounds, and understands the value and need to accommodate the crew. And it certainly doesn’t hurt to have a husband on board to follow the keto plan along with his wife.
Among the Laskas magic 100 recipes are Double-Quick Double-Chocolate Chaffles, Thai Time Crunch Salad, Procrastinator Pizza Casserole, Hurried Jalapeno Holla Casserole, and Asian-Inspired Take-Out Tacos.
In addition to these recipes, the Laskas present symbols alongside each recipe in the table of contents to help fast cooks determine if they want to make a generous recipe for use another day; one that offers a minimal mess; meals that fill the hungry tummy; those for picky eaters; those recipes “fancy enough for guests” and those that are vegetarian-ish.
The Laskas say this book is flexible, honest, and a real-world approach to losing weight while existing normally – all in 30-minute modules.
I am not a giant cookbook fan. I am not a giant fan of cooking at all. In fact, I prefer to find my meals in packages that say Poke and, five-pound bag of apples. But this cookbook is a different approach and I found myself intrigued with some of these ideas.
One nice thing about a cooking aversion is finding a cookbook interesting enough to try. And, this one might be my next delve into experimenting with food.
Stephanie and William Laska have four previous titles published in 2020 and 2018 and are all keto-diet related.

I've only had Stephanie Laska's "No time to cook" cookbook for a few days, and I already love it! It amazes me to see how many things you can make using healthy alternatives to make guilt free dishes! No counting carbs or sugars. Stephanie has done the math for you, with these easy to follow recipes. And the recipes are made with items that are easy to obtain just at your regular grocery store. Perfect for that last minute thought of what to have for dinner. Stephanie uses lots of low carb healthy veggies in her recipes, so you know you're going to feel good eating them. I'm already wanting to make all of them like right now lol!! Some background... I've lost 157 pounds. Finally at goal weight for the first time in my life. After two failed weight loss surgeries and a million and two diets that I could never stick to, I had all but given up. 270 pounds and I would just have to live with it. My daughter told me about Stephanie's Dirty Lazy Keto group on Facebook. So here I went. Do or die...this is it!
Only two weeks into it, and I knew that I could actually live with this! This lifestyle was the "key" for me to losing the weight without feeling so deprived!! I would never have guessed that you could lose weight by eating so many great foods! Most diets are so restrictive that you wind up feeling like such a failure when you can't stay on them. Dirty Lazy Keto has changed my life because it allows you to eat a variety of foods that not only taste good, but they work with your busy lifestyle. AND you lose weight!!! I have been in maintenance for over 3 years and this really is lifestyle for me. This is what I needed. No more condemnation for having a diet soda or using artificial sweeteners to make some yummy desserts. This is not "strict, purist" keto. And it doesn't claim to be. But yet it accomplishes the same goals of weight loss and healthy eating. Her latest book "No Time to Cook" is the perfect addition to your DLK library. You will find main dish recipes, lunches, snacks, and desserts and more illustrated with beautiful pictures that will make you want to go straight into the kitchen and get busy! This is another kitchen must have. GREAT book, and highly recommended!!

I have been on a weight loss journey for a few years now and sadly I am currently stalled. What does one do when what has been working is no longer working? You search for other avenues, which has led me to keto. While keto didn't work for me due to other medical conditions that prevented me from benefiting from the low carb lifestyle, I did find some valuable resources that can still aid in my weight loss endeavors while not adopting the entire keto lifestyle as a whole, which breaking me to The Dirty, Lazy Keto series.

Stephanie Laska, one of the authors of this series, has always struggled with weight herself, which instantly made The Dirty, Lazy Keto No Time to Cook Cookbook relatable. Stephanie understands my struggles, which connected me, making me want to do something I normally hate to do: cook.

Each recipe in this book can be made in thirty minutes or less, which definitely speaks to those of us that do not have a passion for the kitchen, and makes the recipes not feel as overwhelming as other recipes do. The names of each recipe are adorable, and the shortcuts for food prep, as well as the actual execution, were extremely helpful.

Above all, I loved that it's all so simple and laid out for you! Plus, it is repeated multiple times that you are to start where you are, go at your own pace, and modify the plan to make it your own. I love that it's not your typical cookie cutter recipe book and shows beginners like myself how to set up a good workstation, and even easy cleaning tips that come in handy, and are easily adoptable.

I've tried a few of the breakfast recipes and so far they've been easy and delicious! I have shied away from the ones with ingredients I do not have on hand, but do have a list of the recipes I want to try in the future. I haven't read too many other keto recipe books, so I do not have much of a basis for comparison, but I think The Dirty, Lazy Keto No Time to Cook Cookbook is a great addition to your keto arsenal.

*I have voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book which I received from Adams Media through NetGalley. All views and opinions expressed are completely honest, and my own.

This cookbook is unique in that it is written by an individual who has utilized these principles and recipes to lose weight. As explained in the beginning of this cookbook, this author used "keto" eating principles to lose over 140 pounds and keep it off for over 8 years. This cookbook provides delicious and easy to make recipes that will assist one in their keto journey. Each of the 100 recipes have less than 10 net grams of carbs and can be created in less than 30 minutes- a lifesaver for working moms everywhere. This cookbook provides recipes based upon the keto way of eating that are uncomplicated and inexpensive. Recipes are provided in each of the following topics: breakfast, soups and salads, snacks, breads and pizza, sides, main dishes, drinks, and desserts. This cookbook provides recipes to meet all needs within a household, including picky eaters. I highly recommend this cookbook. Not only are the recipes delicious and easy to make, they are also provided with designations in the cookbook such as: a "twofer" recipe meaning that you can make extra and use part of it for another meal. Another type of recipe included is "less mess" meaning that you can make the entire recipe in one bowl with minimal cleanup. This cookbook is a realistic, easy to use cookbook with delicious recipes.

Like the other Dirty Lazy Keto cookbooks, I really enjoyed this one. It's easy to find what you're looking for and also provides an overview to make it easier to follow keto in whatever way makes sense for your lifestyle. There are lots of pictures that are always a bonus.

I either tried or will be trying some really great recipes like:
Stopwatch Spanish Rice
Onion Run Rings
Time Pressure Cooker Beef Stew
Drive Thru Nuggets with Wasabi Ranch Dip
Presto Chicken Parmesan
EZ Zoodle Noodle "Spaghetti"
BAM! Bacon Burgers
Grab & Go Chicken Breasts (great idea to cook ahead of time for other meals)
... and so many more!

I love that this cookbook has 100 recipes ready in 30 minutes or less - with 10 g of net carbs or less! The clever recipe names, the beautiful photos, the net carbs and tips are displayed for each recipe. The recipes are easy to make and with "normal" food you buy at the grocery store. You don't need any special "keto" food for these recipes and I can't wait to try every single one! Stephanie Laska is such an inspiration to us all! Thank you, Stephanie for another incredible book!

I love this book! Just like the other Dirty, Lazy, Keto books, it is witty, engaging, and full of easy, delicious recipes! You will laugh, sympathize, and relate to Stephanie. She makes keto easy to understand, even for someone who is brand new to this way of eating. These recipes are quick and simple, but so very good! Definitely recommend!

Never tried a keto diet, nor any diet for that matter, so had no clue what it is about. Impressed with how thorough and easy to understand this specific keto diet was displayed in the book. Will be trying quite a few recipes that caught my eye. Wish it had more low-fat recipes but it is okay I will just add low-fat substitutes, hopefully it tastes just as good.

I really enjoyed reading this book and applying it to my diet and lifestyle regimen. It's inspiring and life changing. This author helps me to see that this lifestyle change is worth it. There are many tips and recipes on making the lifestyle change. Some of the stories are funny and so relatable, too.

This cookbook was very inspiring and I truly really enjoyed reading the personal journey of the author while trying to incorporate keto changes to my lifestyle.

The recipes are terrific easy to follow and the book is just down right fun to read. I can honestly relate to the struggle n this cookbook keeps it real. I definitely recommend it if you need a but if humor with your keto.

This is the second 'dirty, lazy, keto' book written by Stephanie amd William laska that I have read. I enjoy their personalities (especially the cleverness shown by their recipe names) and feel that they really understand how hard keto can be for people. Their dirty & lazy approach is much simpler and just as effective. I look forward to reading their other books and trying out their recipes.
