Murder in the Mix #8

New York Cheesecake Chaos

Rate this book
My name is Lottie Lemon and I see dead people. Okay, so I rarely see dead people, mostly I see furry creatures of the dearly departed variety, who have come back from the other side to warn me of their previous owners impending doom.

My ex has landed in Honey Hollow all the way from New York where I last saw his sorry mug. As if that wasn’t bad enough, he’s brought along his girlfriend whom he has no problem disregarding as he does his best to woo me back. To make matters worse, a famous author has come to town to do a signing at the library and I have the unfortunate luck of stumbling upon yet another body. And this time, I have a couple of suspects from New York that I’d rather let off the hook than investigate. Someone just might get away with murder.

Lottie Lemon has a brand new bakery to tend to, a budding romance with perhaps one too many suitors, and she has the supernatural ability to see the dead—which are always harbingers for ominous things to come. Throw in the occasional ghost of the human variety, a string of murders, and her insatiable thirst for justice, and you’ll have more chaos than you know what to do with.

Living in the small town of Honey Hollow can be murder.

Rushed mystery with unnecessary romance

The plot seemed more focused on the romance of the main character than having an actual good mystery. The ending was rushed and I didn't feel much satisfaction with learning about the killer. The author seemed as though she's best fitted for romances than crime solving, it takes a lot more effort to make a mystery novel.

Sorry I must admit I struggled to finish this book. It might be because I am joining the series at book 8 and I don't know anybody but there was far to many people introduced at the start of the book and I was totally confused. There was also far to many ex boyfriends that still wanted to be with the main character for my liking, if they were so in love with her why cheat? Or lie about being married? The story was too focused on which man she really wanted and the mystery got lost, even when investigating she got distracted with wondering. I liked the cover of the book and the blurb which did sound interesting but that was as far as it went, I just couldn't relate to the character. I liked the ghost parrot and thought his part helped me to keep reading but not sure I would visit this series again anytime soon.
Lottie Lemon can see ghosts but her unusual talent means that when she sees one somebody is going to die. Lottie stumbles over her friends body just when she was going to meet her favourite author. The murder is straight off the pages of one of her mystery novels. Can Lottie with the help from a ghost parrot find out who had a reason to kill her friend? however the more she investigates the more she learns she didn't really know her. At the same time things get complicated with her home life as a friend wants to take there friendship to the next level and two ex's want to get back together with her. Lottie will have to get to the bottom of the mystery if she wants to come up smelling of roses.

It’s always a great time visiting Honey Hollow. Lottie sure is a great detective as she is a baker. I just love all the shenanigans she get into not only with solving crime, but also with her love life. 💙

A lot was going on with this one. I feel like I could've enjoyed the overall mystery a bit more if the romance wasn't being dangled constantly. At this point, she just needs to pick a guy and stick with it. I'm tired.

Another great one

This was another great book in the Murder in the Mix series. I am really enjoying this series. Lottie, Everett, Noah and the gang are all such fun characters to get to know and love. I'm pulled into the story every time. The audiobook is so good!

Okay, so I've made it to book #14 in this series, and I feel like I need to post a review for all the books I've read up to this point. These books rea all set pretty close together, so it's almost like you're reading one big, long story or watching a TV drama or soap opera. There are some really fun, interesting things in these books, and some other things that are problematic.

Things that I like:

The setting - Honey Hollow is one of those adorable little towns that exist almost exclusively in rom-com books or cozy TV shows. Think Stars Hollow, but in Vermont. It's the kind of town that has absolutely no major corporations in the downtown area. No McDonald's, no Walmart's, nothing. Everything is family owned. Every business decorates for whatever event/holiday/season is coming up or going on and everyone in town is always at every event. I'm here for that. If I could find this kind of town in RL, I would be in heaven. I'm sure that some place, somewhere, is like this, and I haven't found it yet, so that's why I'm saying it's almost exclusively in books or shows. But I do really love this little town.

Most of the side characters - I love Keelie and Meg the most of the side characters, but Lainey, Brittany, and even Cormack are fun and have enough quirks to keep them interesting. I'm not saying they are perfect, but they are a lot of fun and I want a friend group just like them.

The premise - I'm not going to do spoilers for any of the books, but this isn't really a spoiler, since it is literally the first paragraph in every book. Lottie's power is really cool and something different from the normal cozy mystery realm. She sees ghosts of pets and people who are there to help her solve a murder of someone they are close to. Love this idea. It's really what sets this series apart from the other cozy mystery type stories. The fact that her powers do grow and shift, and her reaction to them, is something that seems like normal reactions.

Everett - I really like Everett. He's understanding, has his own demons, is a calming force on Lottie, and really cares about her. He tells her things that he's hidden from others in the past, which just shows how much he cares for her. And he's willing to give her time to figure things out on her own. He also supports her in everything, but mostly in her investigations. He knows she's going to do whatever it is she's going to do, so he tags along to make sure she's as safe as she can be in the situation. He doesn't try to fit her in a box of his own expectations, but lets her be her own person, which is very refreshing.

Things I'm on the fence about:

Lottie - Yes, the FMC herself. First of all, I do like Lottie. She has a lot of good points, and she genuinely cares about people and is fiercely loyal to her friends and family. She is stubborn and keeps going, no matter what obstacles are in her way. I like that part of her. However, the other part of her is a complete mess. The woman cannot make up her mind about her love life and frankly, it's pretty darn annoying. I get that it's easy to be attracted to two different men at once, but if she actually sat down and looked at how each of them treats her, she would be able to make her choice. That part of her makes her seem kind of airheaded and jealous all the time. I really don't like that treatment of her, even though those are normal emotions and behaviors, and she is relatable. But given how focused she is in her business and the other parts of her life, it's almost like the author is afraid to make a choice for Lottie and make someone mad. Which just leaves everything in a long, drawn-out romantic triangle that no one really asked for.

Things I really don't like -

Both of Lottie's mothers - Look, the backstory of Lottie's birth mom having been a teenage who got pregnant and left her to be adopted by her "parents" is good. Love the back story and the support Lottie gets from her adoptive family is great. But both of her moms act like they are mean girls in high school and the only thing they have to do is fight each other over who has which guy as a boyfriend now. After hearing about how much Miranda loved her deceased husband and spent 10 years not dating, to have her having a revolving door of dates now seems a bit of an overkill. I do think that people can and should have meaningful relationships after their SO's pass on, but her relationships seem so superficial and juvenile. Carlotta, on the other hand, has every reason to distrust men (that we know of. We don't get a whole lot of background on where she was and what happened for the 29 years she was gone), but she just jumps back into competing with Miranda for every man in her life. It's very 1980's soap opera-ish. And really, it's somewhat distracting to the main stories.

The constant repetition - There are certain words/phrases/paragraphs that seem as if they are just lifted from one book and dropped right into the next. Do we really need the first paragraph (which is also the blurb for every single book) about Lottie and her ability to see the dead? Couldn't the author think of a different way to work it in somewhere in the first chapter or so? Why don't we get any background as to why Lottie's powers are suddenly escalating? But nope, just the same "I'm Lottie Lemon and I see dead pets." every single story. Also, why does everyone refer to Lottie almost exclusively as Lottie Lemon? It's not like Lainey comes in and someone always says, "Lainey Lemon!" I'm sure there are multiple ways to keep putting her last name in there, if that's what the author is really wanting to do. And the shoulder shimmy and hip bump. It's like those phrases are used 40-50 times per book. The books are not that long at all. There is no reason for someone's shoulders to do a shimmy every other chapter or so.

Noah - I know this will probably cause some hurt feelings, but Noah is not a likeable character. He is controlling and stalkerish. His and Lottie's meet cute was cute. I enjoyed that. But then, Noah got problematic. I enjoyed the beginning of his relationship with Lottie. He was her pick, and Everett was there in the background, but I was fine with Noah. UNTIL Brittany showed up. Do you mean to tell me in SIX MONTHS Noah couldn't find one second to have a serious conversation with the woman he said he was falling in love with to tell her that his divorce was not finalized yet? Oh, his bad. He "forgot" to tell her. Just like he "forgot" to tell her that he put a tracker on her car. Is that even legal? Oh, and cameras pointing at her front door? Really? Hello, stalker. And when Lottie, who did not want to be the other woman, tells him that yes, she has feelings for him, but she is done with him because of his wife, he refuses to accept that. Instead of figuring out his relationship with Brittany (and Cormack -but that's next), he continuously busts in on Lottie and Everett. That really bothered me. Lottie set boundaries and eventually, when things had settled down, she and Noah could have been really good friends, but he refuses to accept the boundaries. He constantly interrupts Lottie and Everett, breaking in whenever they are alone and making snide comments about Everett. You know who doesn't do that later? Everett. When he tells Lottie to figure out who she wants to be with, he even says no to getting physical with Lottie so she can decide for herself between Noah and Everett. But Noah? Nope, Lottie is his toy and he can't stand other people touching his toys. And then, he "accidentally" gets engaged to Cormack and "can't find a way" to tell her that they are actually not engaged. He takes her on dates. Takes her to dinner. Takes her to relationship counseling. Let's Cormack throw them an engagement party. And through all of this, he keeps telling Lottie that "he just can't figure out how to get Cormack to understand." Idk, dude. Maybe stop taking her on dates? Slap her with a restraining order? You're a detective. Figure it out. OH, and that brings me the worst part of Noah (if you can believe that). He doesn't want a relationship with Lottie. He wants to own her and to put her in a box or on a shelf. The whole first part of their relationship is him telling Lottie to stay out of everything and be a good girl and get back in the kitchen. Look, I get she's a baker and he's trying to keep her safe. But there is ALWAYS a point in the books that he realizes she's far ahead of him in the investigation and all of a sudden, it's fine for her to be involved. As long as she follows his rules and does exactly what he says.

So, I read through the first 13 pretty quickly and have started 14. But I think I'm going to take a break, because the things I am annoyed with are slowly starting to outweigh the things that I like about this book series. Hopefully, when I go back and pick it up again, I'll be able to enjoy the stories once again.

Too Complicated, Like Cheesecake

Addison Moore’s New York Cheesecake Chaos, book 8 in the Murder in the Mix series, lives up to (or down to) its title. Cheesecake is delicious but takes a lot of ingredients and a long time to prepare, and the number of characters in the book rivals a cheesecake recipe!
Lottie Lemon, a baker who can see the ghosts of departed pets right before their owners are killed, sees a huge macaw as she prepares for the visit of a famous author, Pepper, to tiny Honey Hollow, Vermont. Florist Rhonda, a sweet woman who decorates her sweaters for every holiday and special occasion in town, has sewn felt books and question marks on her cardigan and is wearing the ruby necklace and slippers she won in giveaways from Pepper, who writes her favorite mysteries. She’s so obsessed she wanted to name her daughter after the detective who solves the crimes in the books—and her daughter resents her for it. Pepper’s publicist is also dating Lottie’s former fiancé Curt, who proposed and then cheated on Lottie, thus erasing his name from her lips. Lottie’s friends know him only as the New York Disaster, and when he shows up in town ready to mend fences, Lottie’s friends shiver at his good looks and charm, while Lottie shudders at his smarmy ways and wonders how she ever found him appealing.
At the signing, in the public library where Lottie’s sister Lainey is head librarian and where Lottie has delivered Pepper’s favorite New York cheesecakes for a reception afterward, Lottie follows the macaw to the staff room—and discovers the body of poor Rhonda, who will never meet her idol. She has a broken neck and a plastic bag over her head, the same type of murder in the books she loves. Lottie and the macaw both scream.
As usual, the first people on the scene are judge Essex Everett Baxter—who Lottie called a friend until she found out his ex-stepbrother Noah, who she’d been dating, was married and not divorced—and Noah himself, with his supermodel-gorgeous police detective partner Ivy, who despises Lottie for interfering with their investigations (and solving the crimes before they do). Both Noah and Everett are hot enough to attract every woman in Vermont but want Lottie, so she can choose between them—except she can’t! Everett knows about her “seeing dead pets” gift and Noah doesn’t; Noah has expertise in bed that Everett may or may not have—Lottie hasn’t slept with him yet. Plus, they hate each other. The bad blood stems from a girl-stealing incident in high school that has kept them apart for 10 years. They may look like gods, but they act like children.
Lottie, as usual, ignores both Noah and Ivy’s advice (concerned and snobby, respectively) to leave the investigation to the trained pro’s and instead focuses on the myriad suspects; sweet Rhonda had numerous enemies and served as a link in a mob loan shark scheme for a basement casino below a strip club in the next town. Lottie and Everett, who convinced her to pose as his fiancée to stop his family from fixing him up with the infamous “stolen girl” from high school, who no longer interests him, have visited that casino before, as well as other unsavory places in the name of investigation. Now they need to visit a cult to question the leader, who was connected to Rhonda. Using their false names, they go to a meeting, only to discover Noah and Ivy already there! The leader directs all newbies (including Lottie, Noah, and their “dates”) to shed their inhibitions—and their clothes! Lottie’s sister Meg, a former wrestler on the Las Vegas circuit, and her best friend Keelie, both horndogs, tell Lottie to examine Everett’s “gavel”, but she keeps her eyes on his face. She, Everett, Noah, and Ivy leave the meeting none the wiser about Rhonda’s murder but with more cult info than they wanted!
Back in Honey Hollow, Lottie’s widowed mother has restarted her haunted B&B tours thanks to Greer and another ghost, who keep bothering guests to their delight and who help Lottie’s mom charge $80 per person for a bus tour that ends at Lottie’s Cutie Pie bakery for The Last Thing They Ate (nearly every victim had one of Lottie’s sweet treats before death, and some had crumbs on them; Greer even had a red velvet cupcake stuffed down her throat). Lottie doesn’t find that part funny, but her mom thinks it’s the best—it makes money and publicity for the B&B and the bakery! Her latest bad choice of a boyfriend, a controlling jerk, demands that she check in with him every 20 minutes. She thinks it’s cute. No one else does; they’re worried for her safety. But Mom is worried about Lottie—as are Noah, who says he still loves her, and Everett, who thinks she could be injured without his protection.
A showdown at the flower shop leads Lottie back to the cult and into the arms of Everett, who proves just as talented with his gavel as Noah and will please reviewers who wanted her to be with Everett.
With all the exes and suspects, I found this book more confusing than compelling. But I still recommend it!

Yet again Addison Moore has done another amazing job, she just knows how to write a good romantic suspense mystery story. I was completely hooked until the end and now I have to wait until the next one, this story is just incredible and I just can’t get enough of it. You can’t help but feel for Lottie as she is just an amazing character and I love the journey that Addison has taken us on so far with her. I am literally struggling to keep reviewing this series as honestly it’s just that good, there was nothing that I could fault about the book and I just want to keep on reading. Seriously, if you’ve not read this series yet, you are missing out, you should go ahead and give it a try.

Lottie is struggling with the heartbreak of what happened between her and Noah, she loves him dearly and knows that he loves her, yet for some reason she can’t find it within her to take him back despite he’s best efforts. She is doing her best to keep going and is currently toying around with the one and only Essex. Whilst handling an event at the public library as they have requested Lottie to cater there as everyone just loves her sweet treats, she can’t help but wish for life to be a little easier on her, however in Lottie’s world that doesn’t seem to be the case. She ends up in the middle of another investigation, but luckily this time they are only requesting for Lottie’s help instead of treating her as a prime suspect. Will Lottie be so lucky this time to try and get to the bottom of this mystery?

This is yet another amazing book in this series that can be read as a stand-alone or as part of the series. I suggest if you are starting with this book that you go back and read all of the other books in this series as they are all amazing and really do make each and every book in the series so much better.

Lottie and the gang are at it again in this one. Of course, it all starts with Lottie seeing a dead pet and then needing to try and figure out who the pet belongs to so that she could try to save someone. Of course, that did not happen in time and someone was murdered while at an author book signing. Lottie seems to always have the rotten luck of finding the dead body, AS soon as Noha and the police show up to take over she gets herself in gear and starts her own investigation.

Along with the investigation Lottie is still drawn to her ex Noha and her ex Curt who has shown up in town, working for the author, and for the always charming and dashing Everette. Lottie is still not sure if she wants to get back with Noha or if she wants to try and see how things can be with Everette. Will, we finally find that out or will we have to wait for the next book?

Please read the book you will not be disappointed. Addison has an amazing way with writing these books and drawing you in.

New York Cheesecake Chaos is the 8th book in the Murder in the Mix series by Addison Moore and each installment is better than that last. I can't get enough of this series. Town baker by trade and reluctant spectral furry friend channeller by cruel fate, Lottie Lemon once again finds herself on the hunt for a killer in Honey Hollow. Fully aware of her supersensual spectral abilities, Lottie is joined by a smart-talking ghostly macaw who gets her in all kinds of trouble but ultimately is her guide to finding the murderer. But this time the killer is especially smart and may even get away with it if Lottie and friends can't put the pieces together in time. Amidst the chaos is the continued love triangle between Lottie, Noah (the sexy detective formerly known as her boyfriend) and the sinfully sexy Judge Baxter who has moved up in the ranks to become Lottie's #1 boy-toy. With feelings running high and a slew of exes making their appearance in both Lottie's and Noah's lives, the fun really never ends as the citizens of Honey Hollow band together to help solve another untimely murder. It's not required that you must have read the previous books, but you won't want to miss anything from this rag-tag bunch of crime solvers. So grab your copy today!

Spectacular

Pro’s
Lottie is a special lady with the abilities to see dead fur babies and humans. She has quite come fully into her knowledge of what and who she is, but she learns more and more as she becomes familiar with her past. She was adopted and her bio mom is back and she learns that her bff is her cousin. Lot runs a bakery in Vermont.

She has solved several homicides since opening the bakery. She has also acquired 2 male friends. Everette and Noah. Everette is a judge “the judge that presided over her case with her previous landlords. Although she had an attraction to him. Little did she know just where that would lead them. Noah an ex cop from Ohio and just moved back to Vermont a few months ago, to be a PI. He has taking an attraction to Lottie. They have dating and went to the next level.

To Lottie surprise Noah is still legally married. Everette has been attracted to Lottie. But has kept it to himself. Oh did I mention Everette and Noah are ex stepbrothers. Oh and Noah’s wife Brit has arrived in town and Cormack both an ex to the 2 stepbrothers. What is going on in this small town living.

Con’s

There are a lot of cat and dog fights between the character that can get daunting after a while. But otherwise the series is great.

A New #1 Fan of Addison Moore!

As usual with this series, slight spoilers to the previous books but not to the murder mystery storyline.

Lottie Lemon is back and catering a book signing at the local library for the high profile murder mystery author, Pepper Patrick. When a local florist is found dead, right before she can meet her favourite author, Lottie sets out to find another killer.

[in a joking way] why do people in Honey Hollow ask Lottie to cater events? Every time she caters events someone dies. If I lived in Honey Hollow there is no way I would ever go to an event. Okay joking aside, I loved this mystery. Yes, I love every visit to Honey Hollow, but this visit had the extra delight of involving a murder mystery author, who tries to help Lottie decipher some of the clues as well! Add in ex-boyfriends aplenty and possible romance with Judge Everett, and there is plenty happening in Honey Hollow!

This is my 8th book in the Murder in the Mix series and I love each new book a little more. Lottie is always up for an adventure when solving crimes and she usually brings her family and friends along for the adventure. New York Cheesecake Chaos definitely involves a lot of chaos, and every step of the way was fun!

I can't wait to pick up the next book. There will be murder, but there will also be romance [I hope] with Lottie and Everett! #TeamEverett

***I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.***
This is such a new and refreshing series from the talented Addison Moore. She has a talent for keeping you busy wanting more of Lottie, her men, and her talent for solving the murders that keep taking place in this small town.
Deep down inside, I really want this love triangle to turn into a reverse harem with Lottie, Essex, and Noah. Lottie cares for both men, but Noah broke her trust by not telling her a very important bit of information about still being married. Now Lottie has been with Essex and has to watch Noahs ex wife and ex girlfriend try to win him back all while trying not to act jealous. Ha! That is easier said than done.
Even though Lottie and her relationship with Essex and Noah is complicated, her life is even more complicated since she is the one to continuously find these individuals murdered. Lottie had a close encounter with death herself in this book and Im wondering when that time will come. Clearly she is dealing with murderers so they have no problem with murdering her as well.
Another great book in this series! I am looking forward to the next one!

This series is amazing and I can not get my fill of them fast enough! Lottie sees the dearly departed, and usually before something bad like murder happens. This time just happens to be a feathered friend who is vocal. After another member of their town is killed at her idols book signing, Lottie and her friends all go on a chase for a killer. As if life isn’t already complicated with three ex’s and a steamy dreamy judge to try and juggle. We get taken to several locations and meet some interesting characters. It keeps you sucked in to the very end. This one even had me changing who done it several times, and may have made me want to bake a cheese cake or two. A must read for any cozy mystery lover who likes romance and humor tossed in.

Lottie has another mystery to solve and this time a bird (Macaw) shows up as her guide. She has a list of suspects and has to wade through the evidence she is able to find. Everett and Noah are both still vying for her affection and an ex-boyfriend from New York shows up in town. Lottie has all she can handle in this one. The story was interesting, had some new characters show up in town and showed that Lottie is still as confused as every about Everett and Noah. She is in danger of losing her heart to either one or both of them. The story line was well thought out and gave a few different twists as to who could have committed the murder. It ended with a bit of a cliffy so I can't wait to see what plays out next in Lottie's life.

New York Cheesecake Chaos (Murder in the Mix #8) — Addison Moore (18 chapters) October 6, 2021

Lottie still has too many boyfriends but it doesn’t stop her from enjoying them. But another close friend has died and it was on the very day that said friend was finally getting to meet her idol author.

But whodunit?

There are multiple suspects and Lottie has a new issue with communicating with the recently deceased. Plus, an old ex from her past reappears wanting to re-start the relationship.

As another murder almost happens, will Lottie solve the mystery before she gets it?

Lovely story, but while I enjoy how the books all start the same, I wonder when, if ever, she will pick a mate or will she finally move on?

Three stars.

Noah deserves better than the likes of Lottie Lemon. She is a demon. She is cruel. I’m so mad right now. I hope she has bad luck all through the next book for what she has done. She doesn’t play fair and Everett is just as bad. He rubs it in Noah’s face that Lottie shattered her secret with him and now the fact that she took things to the next step with him.

It’d serve her well for Essex to move on to another woman. How dare she! And I know that in the second and third book I was rooting for Lottie to be with Everett instead of Noah, but that is because I thought she had a better connection with him. And maybe she does have a better connection with Everett, but she shouldn’t use him to break Noah’s heart.

Lottie better get payback in the worst possible ways in the next read! Ugh!

This is another amazing installment in the Murder in the Mix series by Addison Moore. I just love this series. It's fun, exciting, intense, mysterious and has some nice romantic moments in it to round the story out. My favorite things about this series is how the author uses each new book to build on the characters and the relationships. Plus, the mystery buffs out there get a nice series full of who-done-it crimes to solve, that is, if they can solve it before the characters do. I can not get enough of this series and the characters in it. I can't wait for the next installment, Lethal Lemon Bars!

Immortalised in a book

The plot was a good one but it got swept aside by the antics of our heroine. For crying out loud, just pick one. At this point I don't even care which one but am really getting fed up with the drama and theatrics of her love life. Feel sorry for both the guys too.
A famous author is coming to do a reading and signing at the library. Her biggest fan, the flower shop owner is vibrating with excitement. That is until her body is found. Why would someone want to kill her. Loan sharks, cults, ex's and another attempted murder. Will she work out who, how and why and grant the ghost of the macaw peace?

First of all, I love Addison Moore, and not because she is my favorite author, but her books are riveting. In NYCC we see an unexpected “friend” from New York to “surprise” her. He’s an absolute goof, but anyway Lottie has her heart and hands full with her bakery taking Honey Hollow by a storm, and two men warring over her. Noah has her heart still but she still very much wants Everett in the worst way. The mystery in this one takes the (Cheese cake) of the others. Slice into it, it’s a good and yummy ride, with a hint of chaos. After all, it’s Honey Hollow and Lottie Lemon never gets a break.

First, I would like to say that I'm enjoying this series very much. I like the mysteries and the characters, especially the chemistry between Lottie and Everett. The paranormal aspect is also interesting and not overdone, like in many paranormal series.

Now... this would have had a higher rating than 3 stars except for a couple reasons:
1. It's "coup", not "coo"!
2. I can appreciate that "affect" can very RARELY be a noun...but not in nearly every book!!! Give it a rest.

There have been several other examples I won't get into. Ms. Moore, please hit me up if you need a beta reader/editor.

Love, your friendly neighbourhood Grammar Nazi.

So much delicious dessert ....and I do not mean only that of the food variety. Following Lottie through her love triangle has been a delicious meal, but this book delivered the dessert! I am so elated that the triangle headed in the direction I wanted, but I have this nagging feeling all is not said and done. The mystery in this book was amazing and left me guessing until the murderer was revealed. While it is always sad to see someone depart from Honey Hollow, I cannot wait to get my hands on the next book!

Characters

I love your books. I can't put them down once I start reading them. I try to figure out who the murderer was. I'm okay with it.
I have one minor problem with the books. Every book that I read has the same part telling the story about each character in the book. By now I know who the characters are. It may just be me but I get tired of reading about who they are.
I hope you don't think I'm a terrible person for saying this. I really do like your books.

Sincerely,
Donna M. Hopkins

Fantastic read and series! Well written with a great plot and characters. I was absorbed from beginning to end. Lottie Lemon has an ex and his current girlfriend make a surprise visit to Honey Hollow. There is a love triangle between Lottie, Noah and Everett. #TeamEverett all the way. Once again Lottie stumbles upon a dead body. Could the killer be one of the visitors from NY? Read to find out! Love this series and can't wait to read the next book.

Book 8 in the Murder In The Mix series, New York Cheesecake Chaos, delivers us more of our favorite elements we look forward to with each new read. Lottie Lemon is back again to solve another murder 'who done it' caper while trying to navigate a love triangle. Another great read where you are drawn to continue turning the pages to see how the story plays out. Looking forward to the next book!

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Love it but........

I did not give 5 stars coz I do not like Lemon treatment of Noah. She keeps secret from him all the time but when he had a secret that came out she cannot forgive him. Also she's always saying he heart was broken but seems to not realize that she has now broken Noah's heart and who knows maybe later Everetts heart. I love the part about seeing the dead pets of persons and solving the mysteries.

Every book in this series just gets better and better! I couldn't put this book down once I started, and now I can't wait for the next! Lottie, Everett, and Noah are at it again in this murder/mystery/romance book. I fall a little more in love with this story as each book plays out. I can't wait to finish it, but then have the wait for the next in the series. Keep up the amazing storyline Addison Moore!!!
