We are loving these interactive books but not the best choice for a bedtime read!

Do you love Dragon? Let her know in this very fun interactive picture book!
Finally, finally, one of my libraries had a new book in this series. I really enjoyed Don’t Wake the Dragon, so I was hoping to read more.
In this book we see our wonderful dragon again! But the dragon isn’t too happy. The cat and the mice in the castle tell us about what is going on with the dragon, tell us to come closer, BUT NO not too close, sad/angry dragons can breathe a lot of fire! I just wanted to hug the dragon, well, I would first carefully approach her, don’t want to become a scorched human. As the story continues we find out what has happened that made the dragon sad. You see, each year there is a big big festival about friendship and the dragon looks forward to it every year. Looks forward to the fun. The games. The happiness. The food (mmm, food). And more. But this year? Everyone has gone!!! So can you see? Our dragon is just sad, and I could fully understand, I would also be sad, and probably angry, that the festival is seemingly cancelled. Playing games and all the other things just isn’t fun without friends. Do they even love her?
What happens next though? I was delighted and clapped in my hands because it was so much fun. That is so sweet. No. No, I am not telling you. Just telling that there is a very happy ending! And a lot of sweet moments.
I loved how interactive this book is. Shake it because we need confetti. Pet the dragon. Tell the dragon a joke. Tell her how much you love her. And more. And yes, as an adult, I did all those things. And loved it. I just love it when a book pulls you into the story, lets you be part of it~
I am sad about the translation for the Dutch book. Instead of going for Wie houdt er van de draak? they went with Vier Feest met de draak. Which is technically OK given the book is also about a party in a way, but the whole book is about the dragon being sad and us, the reader and the peeps in the book, having to tell her that people love her!
The illustrations are grand and fab and pretty again! I love the style.
All in all, highly recommend. This was another fun Dragon book and I hope that my libraries will be adding the other books because I want to read those as well~

'Who Loves the Dragon?' is a fun interactive picture book that kids of all ages are sure to enjoy. I've never read an interactive book before, so this was a completely new experience for me. I have to admit that it was pretty cool! As you read along with the story and follow the instructions to help cheer up Dragon, the book interacts with you. It definitely makes it feel more real and more magical at the same time. You feel like you're actually helping to cheer up Dragon by doing what the story says, and it's like the book comes alive by magic when you interact with it. The story is a great way to show kids how they can cheer someone up when they're feeling down - even themselves. The pictures were bright and filled the whole page, so the reader will be completely immersed in the story the whole time. I highly recommend this book for kids who are learning to read and younger ones who are listening to the story being read to them. It's sure to be a fun and magical experience for everyone.

Любимият ни дракон ни учи да сме емпатични, да помислим как може да развеселим някого, когато е тъжен. И най-вече да не се разочароваме веднага, щом нещата не са точно както сме си ги представяли, защото зад вратата може да ни чака изненада!

Mom's Review
Fans of Don't Wake the Dragon will be delighted to visit adorable and somewhat grumpy Dragon again. Similar to its precursor, Who Loves the Dragon? engages young readers intellectually, emotionally, and physically.
In this time of social distancing, when children cannot play with friends, Who Loves the Dragon? models empathetic behavior. Readers are introduced to Dragon's problem: her friends have all left her alone in the castle. The narrator reflects on what helps her (could be him, but I hear a woman's voice narrating) feel better. She suggests that we do those things with Dragon, giving specific examples of cheering words readers could use. By engaging readers actively and eliciting empathetic behavior, a young audience has the opportunity to practice emotional problem solving while also being entertained by a dragon story (and we are partial to dragons in this house). Superficially, the reds, whites, and pinks in the illustrations put one in a mindset of Valentine's Day, which is right around the corner. Accidental? I think not. Schulze and Hardy offer a well-timed message. Oh, and readers need not fear that Dragon remains alone. In the end, the friends all return and reassure Dragon of their love.
We read a digital version of Who Loves the Dragon, and our Don't Wake the Dragon is with a friend right now, so T is eager to get both these books in his hands at the same time! You can't really do all the activities on a screen, though we did what we could. Even so, his favorite part was the activities. For a kid who is moving into chapter books, Who Loves the Dragon? was still fun and a picture book I know he'll want to read and re-read. He's five, after all, and shaking the book to make confetti fly is undeniable fun (Note: It doesn't fly out of the book. You shake a page, and on the next page confetti is covering everything in the castle.)

I love it. I like all the activities. I liked the page where they have a cake and a loving dragon. And there's a drawing of Dragon and a dragon balloon.
Some guys get too close, and Dragon breathes smoke out her nose. And Dragon's not feeling too happy, and then they hold a party. That's mainly it.

The Friendship Festival is Dragon’s favorite day; a day she looks forward to all year...but this year, all her friends are too busy to celebrate. This makes Dragon sad. And a sad Dragon can lead to a fiery dragon. It’s up to readers to help cheer Dragon up...and maybe discover a fun surprise.
Bianca Schulze follows up her awesome first picture book, Don’t Wake The Dragon, with the delightfully fun and imaginative Who Loves The Dragon?
Every page of this picture book is bursting with dragon-sized laughs, overflowing heart, and creative interactive fun. Little readers will love waving to characters, blowing kisses, telling jokes, joining a dance party, and so much more, as they do their best to cheer Dragon up. Samara Hardy’s engaging and immersive illustrations, with their dreamy color palette full of lovely pinks and reds, lively and adorably rendered characters, and so many fun and clever details, perfectly capture the heartwarming and joyous soul of the story.
While whimsically fun and giggle-inducingly silly, Who Loves The Dragon also offers a beautiful and timely message about kindness, friendship, and love which is sure to inspire and encourage little readers to spread all three wherever they go!
Chock full of sweet charm, interactive fun, and so many belly laughs, this delightful tale will surely have little readers asking for it to be read again and again. Perfect for read-a-louds, especially this Valentine’s season, Who Loves The Dragon is utterly adorable from beginning to the very tip of its tail!

Who Loves the Dragon? is the delightful follow up to Don’t Wake the Dragon by Bianca Schultze. We see some of the same characters which is always nice. Bianca Schultze took a concept many children can relate to, that of feeling left out or left behind. She includes interactive components which involve the child in the plot of the story, making Who Loves the Dragon? a great candidate for a storytime read.
Samara Hardy’s illustrations are whimsical and compliment the story well. Young children will enjoy looking through the book even when an adult isn’t available to read it to them.
I would not hesitate to add Who Loves the Dragon? by Bianca Schulze to a k-12 Christian school library. It would be a great addition to any library’s picture book section.

Whether you have already fallen in love with Don't Wake the Dragon, or not, you need to grab a copy of Who Loves the Dragon? and share it with a young reader in your life. This delightful sequel is filled with just as much interactive fun as the first book. Whether readers are counting to ten to help Dragon calm down, blowing kisses to the knights as they ride off into the forest, or stroking Dragon's scales, they will be involved in the story and waiting for their next opportunity to help. One of my favorite requests is to tell Dragon something kind - always a good idea.
Being excited over an upcoming event and then worrying that everyone has forgotten it is something that youngsters can identify with. Who hasn't been worried at one time or another about missing a birthday party, sleepover, or other special get-together? But with some deep breathing, dancing, and even marching, perhaps you and your special reading buddy can help cheer up Dragon as she waits to see if the Friendship Festival will happen after all. Oh! And when you finish the book, don't forget to give it a good hug!

This story is about a dragon who is upset because the town is having friendship festival, but Dragon can’t go because all of his friends are heading to cater a delicious dinner for the king and queen. This book spends time trying to cheer the dragon up and make him laugh. It practices counting, tells jokes, uses 50 cent words, practices breathing, and other fun and useful things. This book could be used in grades prek-3. If I were to use this in my classroom, it would be in relation to counting, practicing good coping skills (breathing), and/or learning how to be kind. I would keep it interactive by asking the children what kind words or actions would they do to help the dragon feel better.

This is a charming and interactive follow-up to others in this Dragon series- and the board book format is perfect for young readers.
What sets this book apart is its interactive features—kids can march, give compliments, and dance along with Dragon and her friends, keeping them engaged from start to finish. The colorful, humorous illustrations add to the fun, making it a great read-aloud choice.
With its heartwarming message about friendship and community, this one is a delightful addition to any child's bookshelf. Parents will love the interactive format that encourages participation, and kids will love the playful story that’s sure to be requested again and again. A perfect pick for preschoolers!

Interactive SEL at its best, with such a great ending!

Interactive Valentine's themed read-alouds are hard to come by, and this was just the ticket! I had a fourth grade class tell the dragon that she was "slay", "empathetic", "gorgeous", and "skibidi".

Interactive books are a favorite in our household, and the Dragon books do not disappoint in getting the reader involved with the story. In the second Dragon book, the Dragon is so sad because the friendship festival is happening, but none of her friends are around. Luckily, the reader is there to make her day better!
The activities the reader does with the dragon are great because they are all things that could be used in real situations of sadness or loneliness such as counting to ten slowly, positive words, and exercise.
On top of the fun story and interactive aspect, the illustrations are delightful! So colorful and full of life! I truly hope there are more Dragon books in our future!
