This was such a weird book but I low-key loved it.
The characters were all really lovable, and the plot was strange but funny. I loved the animation and the humour was on point. I kept laughing because Arika was just hilarious and a little (okay, maybe very) crazy. The characters had consistent personalities and began to grow on me as I got farther into the book.
I thought the concept of the manga was unique and executed well. Arika discovers a vampire but he doesn't live up to her fanatic and slightly (to say the least) high expectations. She begins to train him, but encounters obstacles along the way, like a sweet tooth and enemies that stand in their way.
I've never read something like this, but I still enjoyed it immensely, even though it is very bizarre at times, it managed to be light and funny without coming off as forced. It's a great read for when you just want to laugh and have fun with a book.

I confess it probably has been two decades since I have read a manga. But the premise was intriguing.
Still, I must I prefer to read a manga as a paperback, the ebook version unsettled me as I wondered about the right direction to turn the page, opposite to a paper manga, so on which side to read each page, right or left.
This said, I had to reawaken my younger self to accept and understand the satirized expressions and the caricatured emotions.
The heroine has dreamed of vampires for her whole life so when she finds one, she has every right to be disappointed by the cheap version of hers.
The whole book is around this weird vampire, more interesting in food than blood, and only half formed.
For fans of the genre, it will be a fun read with all the excesses expected, the various characters have each their defined role, and the comics leaves us hanging at who or what is Divo.
3.5 stars.

If you are looking for an extremely over the top, bizarre, comedic read with some grandiose romantic vampiric ideals, this is read is probably for you. It never at any point, takes itself seriously.
You have a girl who has always dreamed of having a romantic relationship with a vampire and a vampire who doesn't know how to be one. Put that all together, add in some cross-dressing and sexual confusion and that is this story in a nutshell.
Half the time I was giggling insistently, the other half I couldn't stop rolling my eyes.

When Arika meets Divo, she is deteremined to turn him into the perfect vampire boyfriend so that she can become his bride and help change the villagers perception of vampires.
I've read many mangas before, but not yet from NetGalley, so I thought it was very cool that they had this available for download. No Vampire, No Happy Ending was a cute little story that had laughs and love, but also a lot cross-dressing. Not that there is anything wrong with that, it just made the premise more goofy.
I would be curious to see where this relationship would go, but honestly, the story didn't intrgue me that much in the first volume, I don't think I would bother picking up the remaining volumes. Cute characters and good artwork, but not enough to draw me in. 3/5

No Vampire, No Happy Ending appealed to me due to its premise. It sounded quirky and fun, and on the whole it was that. The illustration style didn't thrill me. However, I found the story interesting enough to keep reading. It's completely over the top, but I think that is part of its appeal, and I did close this volume wondering what would happen next. I fear some readers may find this too silly and bizarre, but if you are looking for a supernatural manga that falls into one or both of those categories, it's probably worth giving No Vampire, No Happy Ending a try. For me, if I had an opportunity to read on, I would pick up volume two, but I didn't love it enough to actively seek it out.

No Vampire, No Happy Ending wasn't my cup of tea, but it's not bad per se. This isn't your basic vampire story, which was the reason I wanted to try this, since I'm not a fan of vampires. Arika is basically obsessed with vampires and wants a romantic relationship with one to prove that humans and vampires can coexist. She ends up meeting a vampire like guy named Divo, who's odd and acts like a kid not to forget the he doesn't have anything down there or nipples either. These two along with Arika's family try to make things and life function, since Divo is basically an idiot. Arika tries to find out what Divo actually is and how he functions and of course there are vampire hunters too. The plot is quite interesting and somewhat different. This is definitely a humor manga, but at the same time it's quirky and has more depth than most idiotic series.
The art is slightly crude and hard to follow at times, since the panels are stuffed. There's too much text and most of it is irrelevant, which makes the reading experience heavy. At the same time the text is surely the best part of the series, since it's were the magic happens. No Vampire, No Happy Ending is well written and oddly entertaining, but messy and heavy. This could be three stars too, but the structure tones it down for me. Not a bad series, but hard to see to whom this is meant.

A young girl arika who grew up hearing about vampire legends longs to meet and fall in love with a real vampire. But when she finally gets the Chance to meet a real vampire by the name of divo, she finds he's not exactly as described in the legend. With a little hard work perhaps she turn him into the vampire of her dreams.
Hilarious, strange, sometimes romantic and a dash of cross dressing made this an interesting read. Definitely not your typical vampire story. I loved arika's enthusiasm which was sometimes over the top and hilarious. The artwork is nice and the characters are all unique and interesting. Divo is certainly different from other vampires and I'm curious to see how he changes as the story continues, I'm hoping there will be a second volume.

Completely silly, farcical, and over the top in humor, plotting, sexuality, and costumes, but at it's heart it had a good message. Why do we think that humans and vampires can't get along? And why can't we at least try? The subversion of certain parts of the vampire mythos was fun, and while I won't be reading more of the series, this volume was worth it if you're in the mood for cotton candy, escapist manga with a heart.

I honestly don’t know what to feel after reading this. There's like so many sexually suggestive moments with borderline pedophilia and the main girl character feels like a sexual predator that I found it uncomfortable. Besides that, she was zealous over the stupidest thing, which I understand was for a comic relief, but I honestly didn’t find them funny most of the time. The storyline was fine with many cringe moments and forced quirkiness. As for the artstyle, it was cute but most characters look like lolis and were drawn suggestively that it made me feel like I'm a pedo which was really uncomfortable at times.
Overall, I was interested to know the story behind the vampire but I’m not sure I’d want to continue with how sexually suggestive it can get.

This manga, its world, and its characters are all quite delicately and eloquently built. There was a lot of thought and care which went into the creation and execution of this story and world, and it makes me feel like it was all written by Arika… Our heroine, the tumblr/WattPad (equivalent) novelist with fourteen volumes… This very manga feels like her own work.
This manga does well at not letting one element overshadow any other element of the story. This is a good way of not letting important things get overlooked or downplayed, but it also gives off a busy feel, as if there’s no main focus of the story and all the characters are merely feeling around in all but total darkness. That IS sort of what they’re doing, so this might be precisely what Shinya was going for. If so, they’ve succeeded and I commend them.
The biggest mystery is what Divo himself might be, as it’s believed he’s a vampire, but with his unorthodox abilities and lack of weaknesses coupled with his amnesia… it’s all but an utter mystery as to what he truly is. Therefore, they’ve settled on vampire (beta) for the time being. But there’s far more to it; Arika has a vision of how the world should look. She believes that humankind and vampiric kind should live together in as much harmony as humankind lives amongst themselves. Vampires and humans possess very few differences to define them as beast and man. Both are merely people, different and yet the same. Arika believes that if she brings her novels to life (in a way), it’ll show her village that kindness and a loving connection between a vampire and a human is real and that living together in peace is possible. She only wishes to change the narrative, having been told far too long that she’s anything but right in the head for thinking that the vampire deserves a happy ending.

This was just...not good. There were so many things wrong with it including transphobia, homophobia, pedophilia etc. This is gonna be filled with spoilers so read at your own risk. I'm going to list all the things that I can remember being just awful in this.

Arika lives in a village that is obsessed with vampires and in particular the one who used to live in their town, but Arika is probably the most obsessed. Unlike everyone else though, Arika believes humans and vampires can coexist and she will do anything to prove it. This includes taking on Divo who claims to be a vampire even when he seems to be the complete opposite.
I really enjoyed this manga. The characters were so funny and I found myself laughing at their antics time and time again. The characters are relatable, especially to those of us who grew up with Twilight. Who wouldn’t want to fall in love with a vampire and become their bride? The art in this manga was really well done. They really helped with setting the stage for the story.
I recommend this Manga to people who enjoy vampire stories. It does have some mature content so I do not recommend a younger audience for this manga. I look forward to reading more of this Manga series.

So, when she finds a lost vampire in her village's castle, Arika is set to live the perfect romance with him. The only problem? This creature doesn't even seem to remember he's supposed to be a vampire. And hilarity ensues.
No Vampire, No Happy Ending was a very enjoyable quick read. It gets very funny at times, and the plot is very pleasant to follow. Manga enthusiasts will enjoy this.

The story had an interesting take on vampires or at least one particular vampire who doesn’t remember how to be a vampire. And a vampire “fan girl”. Personally I would like to see the character development and what may happen in the main characters relationship in volume 2.
I however did also find that the read was confusing with awkward sexual moments and over the top drama.

Arika a vampire enthusiast, when she finally meets a vampire he is not what she expects and therefore disappointed.
This was a bit of a let down. Although the art is fantastic, the story is a drab to follow and it doesn't hold my attention. Granted it's a different kind of vampire story i felt like it tried so hard to be funny but then just fell flat.

Such a weird, psychedelic book. I don’t even know how to rate or describe it. 🤷🏼♀️ I can give it one thing: it has a great sense of humour. Though I'm not sure I will read the next volume if and when it becomes available.

No Vampire, No Happy Ending is a hilarious manga about a vampire obsessed girl who wants nothing more than to have a romantic bond with a dark mysterious vampire. But what she get's instead is an mysterious amnesiac boy, hopeless of the world around him and even more so what kind of predicament he's in now. I thoroughly enjoyed the first installment. Each page was hilarious and I'm definitely investing to see where this story will go. If you need a good manga comedy, then definitely check it out!

Weird, But Not In A Good Way
This was one of the weirdest portrayals of a vampire I've ever seen, and I don't dig it. The art is off, very choppy looking, and it wasn't appealing. The plot was okay, but I wasn't a huge fan of the execution. The vampire is currently a nothing character so it's hard to care about him.
I doubt I'll continue with the series unless I'm super bored. I wouldn't recommend it, but it's not so bad that I'd steer you away if you're still interested.

There are some books where the concept was made out to be so fun and lighthearted, but the execution was so mediocre that it ruined the whole thing. The characters aren't anything new and the jokes were meh. The author does try something new each chapter, but it's just a new kink or anime trope. Plus, there is that one scene that is just creepy and weird for no reason, esp since the main character was 16. I wouldn't say this was horrible, just not good.

I hardly know what to say about this one. It is one of the weirdest stories I've ever read. A cross-dressing vampire with amnesia and a love of apple pie is "rescued" by a teenage girl who dreams of having a vampire boyfriend. It is so bizarre.....and yet, I kind of want to know what happens next.

I absolutely LOVE mangas! So as soon as I saw this ARK I just had to snatch it up!

This was a delightful and very amusing story! Arika is every fangirl out there, super sweet and relatable as heck and I really liked her. I'm interested in learning more about Divo and these vampire hunters, as well as the true story behind the town's legend.
Overall, No Vampire, No Happy Ending vol. 01 is a super fun read and I'm looking forward to reading the next volume!

Anyone who loves Chibi Vampire/Karin would probably love this series! I found it to be a lot of fun, especially with Arika’s very self-aware vampire fascination/obsession. This series won’t have you questioning the mores of vampire romances, but it is pretty enjoyable nonetheless!

Vampire romance with gags
This might have had potential as a satire of the shojo vampire romance drama genre, but the artwork trends towards kink-flexing, resulting in it still feeling like a shojo vampire thirst trap but with some gags/humor mixed in.

This book will appeal to any girl who was ever a little bit too into vampires. The MC is as fun as the world and the vampire. I’m really excited to read the next one, and I’m happy to see so much plot in a manga like this.
