My indentured servitude is almost over and freedom is a heartbeat away!
Until some alien guy buys me because he needs a nanny, quick. What the actual f@ck? I’m not even good with kids. I’ve never changed a diaper in my life. But the beings at the employment agency won’t listen. “Hew-mans are hot right now. Everyone wants a hew-man nanny.” Great. And since there isn’t another human available… I’m hired on the spot.
Yay, me.
And on day one of my new job I’m having a panic attack because I finally meet my new boss and he looks like Satan himself. No lie. Black horns, red eyes and glinting silver-tipped claws. He even has a barbed tail, a forked tongue, and he breathes fire. This guy is terrifying, and his children look exactly like him.
*heart palpitations* *hyperventilating*
And yet, as I’m caring for these strangely adorable infants and gazing longingly at my crazy-rich boss as he cradles his twin babies in his huge, muscular arms… my traitorous heart goes pitter-patter and my body heats up like lava.
Oh no.
And I begin to wonder — have I sold my soul to the devil?
Michele Mills lives in California and leads a life of quiet, G rated desperation with her husband and two sons. In an attempt at a fulfilling, R rated inner life that does not include Disney movies and Nickelodeon; Michele reads and writes filthy romance and, well...filthy romance. And she wouldn’t have it any other way.
Song Recommendation I am freaking out over how well Tum Mile suits Aegir and Riley’s story! Here is the English translation for anyone interested.
Review Look, I finally caved in and read this book. This book didn’t seem to be my type because I don’t normally gravitate towards cute, fluffy romances and this book is just that. It is cute, adorable, sweet, and fluffy. Also ridiculous. But that’s besides the point.
All beings live, laugh, work, hate, love, eat and sleep. Everyone wants the same things – to be loved and understood.
Thank you to all my GR friends who read this book and brought it up on my feeds. I won’t go into too many details on what this book is about. Just that it includes a human curvy girl, Riley, becoming a nanny for twins fathered by a devil look-alike (yes, you read that right), Aegir. The appearance is natural for his species as Riley learns through her stay with him as live-in nanny.
He picks up both babies, one in each sculpted arm, and gives them each a kiss goodbye. I think my ovaries are going to explode.
Aegir was completely cute and swoon-worthy, with red-skin, fangs, horns on forehead, and barbed tail and all. You might call me crazy, but it’s okay. Aegir is worth it. He is such a far cry from the devil he looks like and Riley realizes this and can’t help but melt for him, especially when he is in his ‘dad’ mode. Riley, girl, I am right there with you!
“…Live here with me as if you were mine. I want you to see that this is real and will eventually last longer than a year.
This book is best enjoyed when going in with no expectations except to have a giddy smile on your face by the time you are done reading it. This was an unique experience, an experience that I greatly enjoyed! Looking forward to reading Bergelmir and Chloe’s story. Something tell me it it is going to be spectacular 😉!
“Are you upset?” “No. I’m just happy. Very happy.” “I am, too, because my female is here, in my bed. Exactly where she belongs.”
Cheesy? Yes. Ridiculous? Yes. Fetishized? Totally. But was it also good?! Absofuckinglutely!!
I've never read anything by the author and it was a random pick. And wow, how surprised I was!!
I think it was one of the most adorable books I've read in a long time. But not only that, it was also really hot and funny. Lovely characters, low on drama, a little bit of action and lots and lots of sweetness.
Read the blurb and jump right it! I so recommend it! Definitely going to read more by the author.
This was a completely spontaneous read but omg it turned out to be the cutest alien romance ever 😭 Single demon-looking alien dad with newborn twins hires the human heroine as his nanny and they fall in love!! They were TOO SWEET!
Aegir is such a hot devil — literally and figuratively speaking!!
Well, he’s actually a sweetheart, and he’s not a devil, he’s an alien, but still.
This is suuuuuch a cute book. I’m so glad Lana “introduced” me to it like 4 days ago with her awesome review and JadeC reminded me about needing to read it after her awesome review as well!!!
I loved the instalove (& lust even though that came waaay after) that was written in a delayed gratification way, if that makes any sense.
There are alien babies in this book — she (Riley) is, after all, the nanny.
There’s no cheating or drama, just the “big” enough problem that is surrounded in the plot that makes it fun/interesting.
Overall, this was a great read that I thoroughly enjoyed!!
I like Riley’s sass and that she takes the employment agency for everything she can after they took advantage of her,
Talk about a 180 in a manner of what? An hour or two? Everything scary is suddenly adorable? I get the whole unknown is scary but to have a total change of heart about everything feels like a bit of a stretch. I mean at least the fire breathing should be concerning.
Aegir’s mother is cute and way ahead of the game I see.
It’s a bit redundant, especially concerning Aegir’s appearance. And rather then allowing the reader to experience emotions, it feels like the writer is telling you how to feel.
Why’s it so hot when he demanded she buy clothes with his money. No doubt because it’s a way for him to claim her without actually claiming her.
It’s a little kitschy, it’s a little cliche but in the end it’s totally adorable!
I read sci-fi romance, at least partly, because I like how different the characters and settings can be. Maybe post-apocalyptic Earth, or another planet that has challenges that the characters need to overcome, with beings that don't quite think like humans do.
This book fell flat when it comes to having a unique world or characters. The hero and his family looked different from humans, but their personalities and the world itself were very reminiscent of what is usually found in contemporary romance. The alien world was basically a gated community in the suburbs. The hero worked in finance and was a billionaire. They had cars, and parks for children to play in. Reading this book was like reading sci-fi lite.
As far as the actual story and characters go, they were fine. The mmc and fmc were sweet, the secondary characters were nice, the villain was a jerk. The main couple were almost instalove (although the fmc thought the mmc was scary-looking at first), but they did seem to get to know each other somewhat throughout the book.
Quite happy with it. A cover & title like this I expected “easy, cheesy & maybe fun.” Now I don’t particular fancy cheesy, but sometimes I enjoy something light, and this was very light. To my great surprise the cheesy was also very low-key. (Hit hard towards the end though).
A plus-size nanny taking care of two red skinned babies for a hunk of a red skinned alien with a tail & horns. That screams light & cheesy, right? I really did enjoy and will most likely continue the series when I again am in need of a little something light.
Read: 02/01/2022 1st rating: 3 stars Genre/tropes:Alien/sci-fi/smut/nanny Cover: 2 stars (it’s the cheesy, I am sorry😂) POV’s: Dual -1st person (Riley & Aegir) Will I recommend: Yeah
The Monsters Love Curvy Girls series by Michele Mills is fun, adorable, sexy, cheesy and quirky, but very delightful. I enjoyed each story in the series. It’s a cute alien romance and something fun to pass the time.
His Human Nanny introduces us to the Monsters Love Curvy Girls series. We have a sweet single demon-looking alien dad with newborn twins who needs help. He hires a human nanny and I’m sure you can guess what happens. Aegir and Riley are cute together and the twins a so adorable. There is a little drama, but it all comes down to this one line “Everyone wants the same things - to be loved and understood.”
I enjoyed this tremendously! I knew from reading the blurb that I was going to enjoy this and I'm so glad that it didn't let me down. I loved our main couple Riley and Aegir and the author did such a good job at building the tension between them. Not only that, reading about them slowly becoming a family really stole my heart!
I enjoyed this and can't wait for the next book that's about Chloe and Bergelmir!
Happy 18th Birthday to me with my very first alien romance 🥳🤠
This was utterly ridiculous in its over-the-topness at times, but honestly it was so much fun. This is a single dad/nanny romance with a plus-sized heroine and it was actually really slow-burn too which I did not expect. It was just very wholesome.
Okay, tell me again - why did we need this huge, red-skinned, fanged, horny (as in horns on the head, duh!), silver taloned, clawed and barbed-tailed - and fire breathing - alien in our nanny story if it's then set in this modern-day, American-ish swanky lifestyle? Diapers, bottles, schedules, learning about parenting from vids (net/ SM), making 'IntelGram' accounts for his family, making cheeezburgrrs, sooshi and peet-zuhs for him, mom groups - for Her. Working from home, being a financial and investment whiz-kid, home gyms, driving a cool car, gifting his nanny a car with a big red bow on the hood - for Him. Oh and also fighting a paternity/custody suit with this grasping conniving ow.
I mean a more regular lookin alien would've done. Because if you are making him look like someone who'd rather kill his own food, and then make him tap on his vid-thingies and make money the whole day, it doesn't really go, does it? Just saying.
Oh and can he decide if her waist is happily 'thick 'or 'tiny'? (Actually it should be tiny because although she's a bbw by human standards, she's got nothing on the Hyrokkin women with whom he must be comparing the hew-man nanny. ) Little things.
His human nanny de Michele Mills Serie Monsters Love Curvy Girls libro 1
This was so much fun!! I LOVE books with babies in them. If you didn’t know I have had baby fever my whole life 😂. I thought the babies in here were adorable! I also loved how Riley was so loving towards them and their father. I overall though this was a super sweet alien romance :) I just didn’t like the conflict with the crazy ex lollll
Have you heard the sound on TikTok that goes: “…what the fuck is we doing?” That was me while reading this book.
I grabbed it from KU because I’m always looking for more alien/monster romances and I haven’t tried this author before, and I liked that it’s a whole series featuring plus sized woman (in the books AND on the covers).
Unfortunately this didn’t work for me for several reasons. One was the writing. I don’t know exactly how to describe it but I didn’t jive with her writing. It was a lot of telling over showing, if that makes sense. Infodumps from the hero’s mom on the woman who did him wrong. Infodumps from the villainous character of their evil plan and how it was foiled. Also, the hero describes the heroine as having “meaty, colorless skin.” Ick.
Also the pacing off this book felt off. It was insta-lust (how many times did he call her his “sexy nanny”?) but also what was even the storyline or plot?
I’ve been very into single parent romances lately but this one fell so heavily on the children that I didn’t get any emotional development between the father and the heroine.
TW: implied that the hero was drugged/raped and that resulted in a woman getting pregnant
This was a fun short read. It’s very insta love, it’s short so I’m not surprised. The audiobook was very enjoyable, I picked it because I wanted to listen to something while I cleaned. Zero regrets. This book is like pure junk food. It isn’t necessarily great for you but damn it’s delicious.
This book is a DNF for me. I just can't get past the fact that the alien looks like Satan. That's just too much for me. I read all kinds of books and I tried to give this one a chance but NO, JUST NO. Sorry.
This is about Riley, a human woman going to work for an alien family as a nanny. It’s supposed to be her last job of an agency she doesn’t want to work at anymore. However when Riley finally arrives she not only screams but faints because her new “boss” looks like a devil, red skin, black long horns, black tail and fangs. Also despite what she thought the man is single and has not one but two babies, twins. Hearing about his difficult situation she decides to work for him anyway. I really liked this story. I also liked that you could immediately see that she cares for this family. It was so cute watching her getting into the community of this new world and I loved that she tried to learn as much as she could through different sources. About the two mcs I love that they both were pretty attracted to each other very early on but it took them quite some time to act on this. These two were very cute together. I also liked the other characters and I was quite happy to find out the second book is about our mcs brother. Overall this was a fun, cute and short read I can see myself rereading.
I was intrigued by the synopsis and wondered about the physical features of the race on the planet, but the author did a great job "humanizing them." I enjoyed the world-building, with the new Earth, and how it came about. I see some other books in the future with this. I am excited to see Aegir's brother's story since he seems interesting and mysterious. Yes, there were moments where it seemed a bit over the top, but you know what, I didn't mind at all because it was a fun read and just enjoyed it all. I am not usually a fan of insta-love, but the author did a pretty good job of showing us the evolution of their relationship. *** Received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
this is too cute! alien babies breathing fire? single alien daddy that literally looks like Satan?? i love how Aegir calls his babies "my offspring" LOL and i gotta admit its the title that caught my attention! it's so sweet to see Riley and Aegir develop feelings for each other and eventually becoming a family. storyline was awesome, ending was perfect. i like the mixture of steam and humor throughout, suitable if you're looking for a light and quick read!
Amusing! It's fascinating that despite their many differences, the Hyrrokin mate like humans (and use the same crude descriptions of the body (except ) LOL.
I'm sorry book, it's not you it's me. I'm just not the type of reader you're for... So here's the thing. This book was well written and not boring, but it was just way too wholesome for me. It's all happiness, sweetness, and blissful daily life for these characters. I need more than that. The one time something actually happened it was over as fast as it began. I honestly only bought this because a few weeks before it was released I read an excerpt and I thought it was going to be fun and or funny. I was wrong. And now I'm out $3. Damn it.
Basically, Riley is hired as a nanny for Aegir's twins that were dropped off at his door after the mother drugged him almost a year prior in order to force him into being her bound. He didn't even know the kids existed until that point, so he was woefully unprepared for the burden of taking care of them. That's where Riley comes in. At first these aliens are such a shock that Riley passes out as soon as soon as she sees them. After all, they literally look like demons. You know: horns, tails, breathe fire... But she over comes that in a matter of days. Why? Because she's lusting after Aegir.
And that's pretty much the whole thing. These two lusting after the other while trying not to for more than one reason. First, Riley is adamant to keep their relationship professional. Second and more important, Aegir is legally not allowed to have any sort of relationship with anybody until the court rules on his case with his twins's mother. It was all just so much mondane daily life we got, and that isn't exceptionally entertaining to me.
I will say that there were two things that I hated here. It really pissed me off when Riley kept throwing herself at Aegir and trying to get him to have sex with her when he was trying so hard to refrain BECAUSE HE LEGALLY COULDN'T DO IT WITH HER. Like, what the fuck Riley? You're gonna jeopardize everything with the courts just to get laid? Selfish much? The other thing that bugged me has more to do with my immense dislike of social media and these BS people called influencers. I think it's all so very ridiculous how easily people are taken in by and feel the need to emulate people that they think are just oh so cool. Social media often takes away from the individual in favor of a herd mentality and makes so many things worse. And no, I'm not bitter or old. I just hate how I'm lumped in the rest of the mindless millennials. That rant has a reason. Riley makes what's akin to an Instagram profile for Aegir and the kids. We're told, often, how popular it is and how many followers they have and I JUST DON'T CARE. So every time it was brought up I had to fight not to roll my eyes.
In the end, while not my cup of tea, this book wasn't bad. If you're looking for a simple, wholesome read have at it. The characters are all good, and the world building as well. There's just nothing exciting that ever happens.
This is somewhat outside my wheelhouse in terms of romance. The individual pieces (nanny, scifi, quirky sarcastic heroine) all match up to my tastes but honestly the idea of reading sex scenes between a human and an alien resembling Tim Curry from Legend seriously had me cringing a bit.
That said this was cute much of the time. It felt fast building, with no sense of time (and a heavy case of insta-mate just add lust), but the moments of "family" kept it from being too bad.
Drawing out the UST.... I'm of different minds. A lot of this book felt a step beyond wish fulfillment. After the initial "my life is ruined" moment that precipitates Riley snd Aegir meeting, everything else is barely an inconvenience.
Riley goes out to a playdate and all the alien mothers are like "OH MY GOD YOU'RE PERFECT". Aegir insists, often, she treat his money as her money. Not a single person objects to their mating bond (the uh mother of the babies aside, but she's hardly credible). The epilogue makes it clear they're compatible for mixed species babies.
One domino after another falls into place, with the only real obstacle Aegir's baby mama who EVERY character is at pains to explain is useless and worthless and awful.
There was no tension about their journey to get together, it felt more like playing "every girl's dream" BINGO.
I did have an issue with the fact remaining loyal to the mother/father of your kids (you boundmate?) was a huge cultural thing for Aegir's people. Like, be a cheater and you essentially dishonored your whole family, your planet and committed treason. So much as hold another's hand and insta-shun. Riley, in her sex crazed needy horny state repeatedly tries to force Aegir to lose control. It felt... underhanded and made me not like her. Basic respect goes both ways, and Aegir/his family afforded her that in regards to being human. Her inability to return that respect made her selfish, not cute.
Rich? ✔️ (literally the richest guy on planet/of his species by a huge margin)
Possessively devoted? ✔️ (Their culture is fanatically loyal to the point where there was a possibility that Aegir would have to marry his RAPIST due to her giving birth)
Skilled lover? ✔️ (She's a virgin and he's only slept with two women, briefly, while drunk/roofied. Somehow they masters of sex)
So in the end this didn't do much for me romance wise, but Aegir's ironclad self control was priceless.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
Aww it's sweet and romantic and the babies are so adorable. It didn't rocked my world but it did made my ovaries explode *sighs* and I can't wait to dive into book 2 (already got it).
I knew as soon as I read the description for this book it was not for me but with quarantine going on for so long I’m just about out of things to do so I figured why not...I some how made it through and like I thought it was completely ridiculous so much so that I just had to laugh in some parts like “I love the sight of my large red hand against her meaty, colorless skin” WTF is this lmao she sounds like a piece of raw chicken I just can’t but at least I got a few chuckles out of it.
