Galactic Order #4

Juldo Made: An Alien War Romance

Rate this book
Vivian

It’s been months since he’s been gone. Not a word from him. Not a single sign. He’s out there somewhere without a single memory of me. Without knowing about his child still growing inside me. And there’s no way for me to find him. He could be anywhere. On some distant planet or drifting in the vast black space of our universe. I want nothing more than to find him, but I’m stuck on the Dahk’s home planet. I can’t exactly hop in my car and hunt him down. Not that my friends would even let me. I’m so pregnant I can’t even walk the castle halls without losing my breath let alone fly around in a spaceship searching for Juldo enemy camps he may be frequenting. So I stay and I wait and I pray for a word, a sighting, any kind of proof he’s still here. That some part of him may still remember me, us, what we used to be to each other.

Hector/Vyr

I drift in darkness. I am newly made. Juldo. I was not always. But I do not remember my past life. I do not remember her. But she is an echo that haunts me. She pulls me from the shadows into a light that burns. I watch her in silence. I wait for her to call that name. A name that no longer belongs to me. She looks at me with a sadness that I have no name for, yet I know I am the cause. She says she is mine. That I am hers. But I am not her Hector. I am Vyr and so she belongs to a male that is gone. But the deep ache inside me tells me I still belong to her. And so I will guard her and the babe she carries for the male I used to be.

*This story is a standalone romance but it is highly recommended that you read the series from the beginning. Each contain an underlying plot that is a continuation from the first in the series, Pythen, and will continue on throughout the series.*

Juldo Made is somewhat different than the prior three books in this series. Its focus is on the Juldo and Shadow Born aliens rather than the Dahk. It also introduces a number of other alien species, new planets and moons. Additionally, it is a bit darker than the first three books with more pain and bits of torture (involving a very pregnant human), still with fairly graphic fights and deaths that have been present since book one, Pythen. Do not misunderstand it is still nowhere near say "The Walking Dead" graphically, nor zombie-like.
Sex scenes aren't the focus until about half-way through, but the interplanetary intrigue deepens and kept me turning the pages. The romantic love between hero and heroine is intense. Plus unlike prior stories in this series, the HEA includes somewhat of an extended family. This addition ends happily for now; however, the overall story still hangs on the cliff.

I enjoyed this a lot more than I was expecting to and this one was definitely action-packed throughout it also felt a fair bit darker than previous books in the series. You're definitely going to need to have read the earlier books in this series for the backstory or you will be fairly lost with this one.

This Is Vivian and Hector's story and it all felt just so poignant with the whole situation of Hector being newly Juldo made after being infected and evolving into Vyr one of the shadow born. He has no memories of his previous self or life with Vivian prior and when he disappears she’s left on home world to pick up the pieces without him and also pregnant with his child. But despite not remembering his former life and fiancé and now Vyr, not hector he still feels inexplicably drawn to Vivian she calls to him like an impression left behind and he finds himself watching secretly from the shadows.

Life on Home world is already becoming dangerous the human's arrival has caused hidden traitors to attempt to rise up against the current regime and a heavily pregnant Vivian finds herself taken for leverage to use against Vyr. This is where things heat up and though Vyr doesn’t recall anything from prior to awakening shadow born he still feels a deep need to protect Vivian she still feels like his and he's not prepared to let anything harm her.

The romance here was very poignant and this is one of the first books I’ve read with intimate scenes where the heroine is heavily pregnant like eight months. The chemistry here is smoking hot and I could feel the intense emotion from both Vivian and Vyr.

This was imaginative and well written and the story arc was pushed further in regards to the rebellion on home world and their war with the Juldo. I’m excited to see where this series goes next we do get our HEA for these two but there’s so much more on the horizon in regards to this world. This author always writes fabulous sci-fi and always consistently delivers. another excellent addition to the series.

Excellent

I loved this book. The author put the right amount of everything in this book. I've read the other three books, and I can see that it may be difficult to track what is going on in this book if you haven't read the others. But overall, this is my favorite in the series so far. I will definitely keep reading it.

💞 The Love Story of Vivian & Vyr/Hector. 💞

2️⃣0️⃣2️⃣4️⃣
It helped to know in advance that the story is rushed, has no realism, has insta-love, and the h is a wildcat in the sack.

I ended up enjoying the fast-paced, action-packed plot, complete with sweet romance, funny moments, and supportive minor characters. It was an easy read that kept my interest throughout. I still didn't care for the sex scenes, but thankfully there are few.

I reread this bc I'm trying to finish the series.
Edited to Add: I read book six, but DNF'd book 7.

📕 SPOILERS BELOW 📕

☹️ In the series, the character's ages are unknown.

At the start, Vivian is 8-months pregnant and living on Home World. She's training under Gyro, the head healer, to be a Dahk midwife. She wants to be strong and take care of herself.

Hector turned Vyr, is Vivian's former fiancé. He became a Juldo after being infected in battle, losing all his memories. He's now with Chyn, the Juldo shadow master. Despite being changed, his connection to Vivian remains. He returns often to watch her sleep, unaware of what draws him to her.

MINOR CHARACTERS:

🔸Peyton, Vivian's BFF, and Tahk, the Commander. Peyton is also pregnant, just a month behind Vivian.

🔸Bailey and her mates, Olynth and Fihk, arrived with Peyton’s mom and others. Still full of attitude, she was an orphan who raised her foster brother, Nathan.

🔸Yilt, Tahk's third-in-command, is protective of Vivian and has a fondness for her. She, however, only sees him as a big brother, as her heart belongs to Hector.

🔸Chyn, the only Shadow Born Juldo until Vyr. He's ancient and controlled by the Shadow Gods, while Vyr, being younger, can hear but ignore the gods. Both are powerful, able to teleport through shadows and use them to kill.

Conflict arises from the following:
➊ The Dahk uprising against human matings.
➋ The Juldo Master wanting an intergalactic war.
(They work together.)

The Master seeks to control Vyr, kidnapping Vivian twice to achieve this. He cages human women to create Shadow Born—though the process remains a mystery. Chyn won't kill the Master bc he doesn't want to take his place. Instead, Chyn plans to control him.

Vyr, now living on a moon with Chyn, rescues Vivian and brings her there. They reconnect and have sex. Though he doesn’t remember her, he knows she's his. They quickly fall back in love, with tender words exchanged. Vyr depends on nano-mites and plans to give them to Vivian to extend her lifespan—and eventually, their child.

While kidnapped, Vivian gets two new friends:
Ferhen, a Guhuvin warrior and Dahk ally. He's a deadly bird-man with sharp teeth and talons.
A Zythen, who's named Gus. A big fur-beast with spikes on his tail and porcupine-like fur. He first bonds to Viv, who he wants to protect and soothe, then he bonds to her baby.

🙄 Despite what Vivian endured during her kidnappings—exhaustion, dehydration, hunger, injuries and contractions—she’s fine after some TLC from Vyr.

Vivian gives birth to a girl named Princesa on the moon, but knows they must return to the Dahk planet. While Vyr is away, she’s kidnapped again, and her baby is left with Ferhen. Chyn, Vyr, and the Dahk rescue her and the other caged women. They all go to live on the Dahk planet.

Hector and Vivian enter the castle hand in hand, with Viv holding their daughter. They reunite with friends. The last time Hector was there, he had been hurt and unconscious. Viv didn't truly believe he would return. While he didn't come back as he was, Vyr was here, carrying pieces of Hector. Though it hurts Viv, she's grateful he's alive and with her.

▪️Vyr refuses to join the fight against the Juldo, knowing they're not all bad.
▪️Alyn, King Uthyf's consort, plans to kill him.
▪️With even more women on the Dahk planet, there's much unrest. Half of the Dahk welcome the women, while the rest want them gone.
▪️Now in her own home, Vivian is a midwife again.

I liked this book much better than the last one.
Why I rated it 3 stars: Chapter 14 happened, and the love wasn't felt between the spoiled princess and her tough military man.

The Dreaded Insta-Love:
♥️ I'd fallen madly in love with him that very first day.
♥️ "You didn't know it then, but I was hooked the moment I saw you."

Chapter 14. Vivian forces Vyr to have sex. It wasn't making love as Viv described it.

Vyr is hesitant and unsure. Initially, he's resistant. Vivian is suffering from an overload of pregnancy hormones and can't control herself. 🙄

☹️ Sex Scene Excerpts:
🔸 He remained unmoving. I slowly knelt in front of him, my thighs going to either side of his until I was straddling his lap.

🔸I nipped at his lips and dug my fingers into the back of his head...

🔸I held him close and frantically ate at his lips.

🔸I wept into his lips and clutched at his back, trying to pull him on top of me, but he wouldn't budge.

🔸I shoved at him and straddled his waist, my hands shoving up his shirt to get at the skin underneath.

🔸I licked his belly and tore at his pants, freeing him and holding him tightly.

🔸He ripped my hands from him, but I didn't let it stop me. I dropped my core onto him and rocked.

🔸I slipped and slid against him, clawing at his chest.

Nope Sex Addict GIF - Nope Sex Addict Oh Lord GIFs

Thankfully, after that the story improved. Ferhen and Gus are great characters, who made the story more entertaining. I consider them Vivian's "sidekicks."

😂 My favorite scene was when Vivian gave birth. Ferhen was hilarious!

▪️ The bird man gulped and paled. “Never fear, I have delivered many a hatchling.”
▪️ “You have?” I curled into another contraction, moaning.
▪️ “Yes, it is easy. Where is your egg nest?” He looked around.
▪️ “Fuuuuuuck!” I shouted in pain and frustration. “I don’t lay eggs, idiot!”
▪️ Ferhen and Hector paled.

▪️ I spread my thighs wide, and both males paled as they stared. “What? What is it? Do you see his head?” Was that too soon? How dilated was I?
▪️ “That is a head?” Ferhen choked.

▪️ “A hatching takes but a few minutes,” Ferhen murmured worriedly.
▪️ “He’s not an egg!” I panted to keep from pushing.
▪️ “My apologies, but is this normal for humans?”
▪️ “Labor can take a whole day,” I spat.
▪️ Ferhen looked at Hector with wide eyes.

▪️ “A daughter,” he murmured, his face glowing in joy. I smiled and laughed, tears streaming from my eyes.
▪️ “She is a wonderous sight,” Ferhen murmured reverently.
▪️ They helped me clean the baby and cut the cord, then the placenta was coming out and Ferhen was fainting. He went down hard, feathers flying.

Our human transformed

Hector was such a hunk as a human, and after he started his transformation to something more alien, I was curious to see how the author would portray him. He still had his protective Instinct even though he didn't quite understand why he had them, and he did come to Vivian's Aid when she needed him. So there's quite a bit that happens in this book even though you could almost see it as a side story in a way since you really doesn't have a lot to do with what happened on Earth and more to do with what happens on Homeworld and the other alien plants and stations that Vivian inadvertently gets to visit. I was also curious to see what would happened with the Birdman that she saves, but Vivian is true to her Hector even in his new persona. There were plenty more editing issues that there were not in the last book so quite a bit of things to throw you out of the story if those bother you.

I so love this series. This one was enjoyable in a completely different way than the first two were. Vivian is put thru so much suffering, made only worse by how pregnant she is. As for Hector/Vyr, he surprises everyone with what he's become but what he's still able to do. Bailey makes an appearance and gawd do I still hate that stupid bitch. I loved getting a smidge more of Peyton and Tahk as well.

Hector has been missing for months when we start here and Vivian is 8 months along now. She has been wallowing in sadness since he disappeared even though she knows it's not good for the baby. Finally she's forced out of bed and resumes her medic training. Unfortunately, Uthyf has not gotten the Dahk opposed to the humans being there under control and Vivian is attacked while flying back from visiting a pregnant Dahk. She's hurt pretty badly, but is protected by her guard. This attack infuriates Uthyf and he basically puts all the humans under house arrest. But because Vivian refuses to leave the castle (she's sure that's where Hector would first look for her) she is now alone. What Vivian didn't know was that Hector, now Vyr, has been coming to watch her almost nightly. He doesn't remember her, but the draw she has on him is stronger than anything else. Including the voices of the gods now inside his head.

What nobody expected was for the traitor Dahk to kidnap Vivian and sell her to the Juldo master. If Uthyf was furious before, he is incensed at this attack in his own house. But the one with more rage at this is Vyr. And he will kill anyone in his way of taking back what he knows belongs to him. Like I said, Vivian suffers a lot after she is kidnapped and it's a miracle that she and her baby make it. One, or I guess technically two, good things that happen is that she befriends a Dahk ally and gets bonded to by some creature that seeks only to protect her. All she can do at this point is wait for somebody to save her. And when it turns out that it's Hector, she's overwhelmingly happy. But as Vyr, he has changed so much and doesn't know what to do with her. I was glad that it didn't take these two too long to talk to each other and figure things out between them.

Then Vivian gets kidnapped again, by the Juldo master himself this time. Vyr will save her no matter what outcome his actions might start. But at least he's not alone. What goes down in rescuing Vivian has a dramatic impact on Dahk society. Dividing them more soundly and making it an even more dangerous place. For now, Vivian can be happy though having gotten her love back and delivering her baby safely.

Chyn is such an interesting character and I can't wait to see what he does going forward. This shadow born assassin has plans that we don't quite know and I look forward to seeing him bring the Juldo master to heel. Though, I'd obviously rather he just kill him.

I noticed at the end that the next book is called "The New King" (or something like that) and I can't help but worry that something is going to happen to Uthyf. I would much rather it mean something more like he finally gets control of his people and becomes a true king to them all.

Also, can we please have some more of Kil? I missed that Kilbus lord.

To be honest, I wasn’t super excited to read this book, the main reason being Vivian. In previous books she always got on my nerves with her whiny damsel in constant distress attitude, so having her take center stage wasn’t something I looked forward to. However, I am happy that my worries of her as a main character were unwarranted, seeing as she finally grew a spine and some independence on her own. With that she actually was a liked character and made this a quite pleasant read.

I did like Juldo made enough to give it four stars, but I am not going to lie and say that I didn’t have issues with the story. My biggest issue being how drama free it felt. I excepted a lot more from Vivian’s and Hector’s (sorry, Vyr’s) reunion. Him being indifferent and cold should have really sparked some drama and struggles for Vivian to reach him. Although it wasn’t completely struggle-free, it also was solved way too quickly and easily. One second Hector was that cold Juldo made and the next he was loving and protective and heads over heels in love with her. I understand why it went so quickly considering how short the book was, but compared to previous books it was lacking that extra depth and unexpected twists that I so admire in Erin Raegan’s books.

The lackluster twists were however made up for in a very compelling plot with the brewing conflict between the Dahk and the humans, the kidnapping, slave auction and so much more. Albeit a somewhat slow start to the story it built up something really suspenseful and thrilling, keeping me locked to the pages. I liked the new characters Ferhen and especially Gus, so much so that I kind of want my own Zythen in life. And I also liked the deeper look into the Juldos. Really the only thing that kept me from falling in love with Juldo Made was the romance. I did enjoy the protectiveness and the power from Hector’s part and how they in the end fully came together again as a family with a baby (and of course Gus). If only there had been a bit more drama and depth I would have been completely satisfied. As it was I am still happily giving it four stars and I can’t wait to see how the conflicts between all the different species will develop in the next book.

😭💔🔥 Erin Raegan, WHY do you insist on shredding my heart while setting my Kindle on fire??

This book was EVERYTHING—angsty, devastating, tender, and scorching hot. Vivian’s strength as she carries Hector’s child while he’s gone but not gone wrecked me. The loneliness, the desperation, the hope that he might still remember her? My chest hurt reading her chapters. And then Hector/Vyr… whew. A broken, remade warrior torn between shadows and light, memory and loss, identity and love. His internal battle hit so hard—because even without his past, some loves run so deep they carve into your soul.

The push-pull between them is addictive:
💔 A mate who doesn’t remember.
🔥 A bond that refuses to die.
👶 A child caught in the middle of love + war.
🌌 And an entire galaxy of danger pressing in.

Their story is haunting, raw, and beautiful. The longing, the pain, the stolen moments of connection—I was a puddle. By the time I hit the last page, I was destroyed in the BEST way possible.

If you’re ready for heartbreak, healing, and alien love that endures even through death and remaking, Juldo Made will consume you. 💜

It was definitely a roller-coaster-thrilling experience to live in Home World (and other alien planets) through Vivian's perspective. And to add to this, we get to see Hector/Vyr struggle between his old and new life. It was interesting to see Vivian's take on his identity crisis- she doesn't see two different men with different lives, rather the same man with a past and present that vary greatly. This is so different from his take because he sees himself as Vyr who must expunge Hector, but is not sure how. I liked how Hec-Vyr eventually opens up to seeing his existence from Vivian's perspective. And how about the supporting actors! We all need a Gus in our lives ASAP! Though this book still manages to envelope aspects of the Dahk, this book is not focused on any Dahk in particular. However, this book is essential in revealing key information regarding the betrayal that is taking place under the Young King's reign. Favorites from the previous book made cameo appearances, giving this series an air of a dynasty- the start to a legacy that the Dahk and the humans will leave for future generations. I cant wait to continue the journey of the Galactic Order series!

Best book in the series

Best book in the series. With everything going on, and the connections made for some of the human girls and their now alien life mates, no love was deeper or more beautiful then viv and Hector. We were all heartbroken when he was infected And more so when he vanished, this is a book that love concurs all and it was absolutely amazing. I loved how viv refused to give up on the love of her life, she had one man that owned her completely, and as s**** hit the fan her man yet changed would burn the entire universe down for her. This story was beautiful and yet so sad, you wanted vyr / Hector to remember it all, wanted him to still be the same, but that wasnt the case, and to see him have memories here and there, beautiful memories of his life with Viv was soul shattering. But still love finds a way, and a new romance blossom and it's everything! I fell deeply for this amazing read, and the ending! I can't stop the tears, oh Hector, I wish it was you, and yet Vivian will always be loved cherished and protected. Simply amazing

All you need is Hec-Vyr

So, really this book was about Vivian and Hector/Vyr was her man. I loved it though. Vivian pulls up her big girl panties and dies what needs doing. Hector/Vyr—I don’t know what to call him!—does much the same, and while he has some parts, for the most part, this is Vivian’s story. Her awakening. Her trials and overcoming. She isn’t a kickbutt heroine, but a woman who overcomes her own weaknesses and finds her own strengths.
If you’re new to the series, don’t start on this book. If you’ve read the rest of the series, what the heck are you doing in the reviews?! Go read it!

I wondered how it would be possible for Vivian to get her happy ending with the man she loved since he was basically a new person after being infected by the Juldo virus but it was well done with a credible storyline. Vivian was a sweet caring heroine who faced her difficulties with resilience. Vyr won me over with his readiness to do anything to keep Vivian safe and happy. The different species in this series fascinate me so I enjoyed learning more about the Juldo and being introduced to a few new ones. I still feel a bit sorry for Yilt but hoping he will get a Pythe of his own. I enjoyed reading this book which I definitely recommend !

I was excited to read this book. I wasn't sure how Raegan would make this work, but she killed it.
Hector is now Vyr and he is different, but the same. He doesn't remember her but he feels a connection. That drives him to protect her and his child. There was alot of action in this book. I like how this series had depth to it we get to see Hector/Vyr struggle with his old and new life. He sees himself as entirely different from Hector, which he is because has no memories of his past life or family . He wan't Vivian to accept him as Vyr, but for her it's still Hector but different. It was interesting to see both of them struggle with his identity crisis. - She doesn't see two different men but her Hector that is now different and more than what he was. She is so happy he didn't die she doesn't care that he's not the same she's willing to accept the differences and grow this new relationship. Great book and I'm loving the plot and political challenges, can't wait to see what happens next.

I really wasn't sure I would enjoy a book about Vivian and Hector, they weren't really characters that piqued my interest all that much before. Being really honest I wasn't too bothered whether Hector lived or died. Oh how wrong was I!!! I LOVE this book. Delving more into their characters brought me far closer to them. I just had to know what was going to happen in their story. And as for Hector, he is soooo beautifully written in all his newness and change. I couldn't have asked for more. I love the new characters too, one is forever lodged in my heart now.

Another great story "spoilers"

I love this series. The story telling is compelling and sucks you right in. The author does a great job switching between Hector's memories and Vyr's conflicting emotions. Vivian does seem lost at times but she slowly grows to a stronger person and thus a mate for Vyr. I am hoping that the assassin will have his own story. The author makes him likeable and not straightforward killer we are led to believe in precious books. I can not wait for the next one!

I skipped A LOT

Honestly I skimmed through this one quite a bit, and only got it so I wouldn’t miss anything important. I never really liked Vivian’s character, and even with the little bit of this book I did read, that feeling remained. It was her saying she accepted Hector was gone and now he was Vyr, yet she didn’t really. She still called him Hector, she still kept hope he would remember or whatever so no, she didn’t actually accept his change.

I will read the next book because I find Mona’s character intriguing, but I don’t have high expectations.

Utter perfection! By far the best book so far!

The story was captivating, detailed and fast paced. Characters were varied and whilst the mcs could have had more depth, because they've featured in previous books it didn't matter so much.

I absolutely freaking inhaled this book its just so good. The writing is on point, its funny, heart stopping and adventurous all at the same time.

I need more of the shadow assassin!!

This is a perfect sci fi romance book. They dont come around often and I rarely give 5 stars but its so well deserved for this awesome book!!

This book definitely gets you right in the feels. Poor Vivian has had a rough go of it in the first couple of books, but her time has come! Hector who she thought was lost to the Juldo appears when she needs him most and saves the day! We get introduced to a few more characters, a furry new sidekick, and some interesting information about the super secret shadow born.
This is a great read for this next installment of this series! How soon does the next book come out!?!

Really good story.
Best to read series in order, although each book deals with one couple, previous characters and couples from previous books appear and also there is an enemy threat storylines developing through the series.
Breadcrumbs dropped for future books in series and updates of previous characters and couples from previous books.
No cheating or ex-drama despite some separation.

Another Great Hit

The story was awesome with so much action, drama, violence against the human mates, slavery, love, steamy sexy scenes with awesome characters, and the mysterious shadow born. A love story that continue between a couple from the previous books to this one. No matter the challenges they faced; they found their happy ending. Loved It and a definitely a must buy.

Seriously this one was better than I thought and I even cried once. Not because I was sad but because of the story she told him it was sweet. So sweet! This is my favorite book of the series so far and I can't wait for the next one. I'm hoping to read Chyn's story someday. Thank you Erin, for a fun journey exciting plot twist and realistic emotions to well developed characters! Nailed it!

Vivian and Vyr

I wasn't sure if I was going to like this one, but I actually really enjoyed it. It was brutal and crazy all the things everyone went through in this book. I don't want to give too much away, but, yea, I was a little shocked at times. I feel bad for the slaves of the Juldo, and other alien species. We really got a glimpse into that life in this book. It is horrific, to say the least. I am curious about the shadow born assassin though...

A must read

I liked Vivian and Hectors story. Vivian is pregnant and feeling fat ,lumpy ,and depressed because the baby's father Hector is missing . Hector has been Infected with an alien virus that has turned him into a shadow walker.Vivian is kidnapped, sold and recovered and very very pregnant . Vivian is running against the clock to connect with Hector who doesn't remember her before the baby is born.

Intense but eye opening addition to the series. Lots of universe building about the social and political balance which helped create a better understanding of the players. But this was done through the eyes of a couple rediscovering each other. Small moments that helped with understanding the big picture story running in the background of this series. It was sweet but with a emotional understanding to some harder topics.

Whilst I wanted Yilt to get the human I’m still delighted with the way the story went. It wasn’t an easy road but it was a read I didn’t want to put down. Definitely one to buy despite having already read on KU. I’m intrigued how the new characters introduced will integrate and also the fate of the Juldo Master. Why is he quiet now?!!!
