Seven Sins of Snow

Rate this book
Hey, you!
Yeah, you.
Are you listening?
I have a story to tell you but it’s not your average fairy tale.
My story?
It’s wrought with violence.
Strewn with blood.
Dominated by desire.
My stepmother, the evil queen, hates me. She wants me dead but hasn’t killed me yet. At her insistence, a never ending line of repugnant suitors tries for my hand, but when I decline each and every one of them, the evil queen punishes me...severely.
She will stop at nothing until I’m sold or dead.
As she grows insane with power and my death seems imminent, something unexpected happens.
I see a ‘lurker.’ They come to me in my dreams, touch me, taste me. Even though I’ve never met them outside of my mind, I begin to crave them.
Stories have been passed down in the town of Riverwood about creatures of legend, kings given the power to wield the seven deadly sins.
They tell me they want me, they claim that I belong to them.
As I fall deeper into sin, they become mine as much as I am theirs.
What will happen if I submit to their desires? Will I transform into the very weapon I seek, harnessing their power for my own or will I find myself lost in their seduction?
The evil queen might kill me first. But I’ve made a vow to my people; to take back my stolen throne while bathing in her blood.
Read my story and find out what happens...if you dare.

***Maybe some slight spoilers ahead, but all very vague anyway*** Overall: 2 stars
There's just something about vampires that gets me all hot and bothered. They will always be a guilty pleasure. However, while I was intrigued by the twist in the Snow White and Seven Dwarves fairytale, it just didn't succeed in fully enthralling me. I seriously almost DNFed this and I never DNF.

The evil queen was bland, childish, immature, and annoyingly irritating, like a screaming child that got its toy taken away. She was never "evil" or scary, and did not seem like the right characterization for a being that's been alive for centuries. Plus, she took such a backseat to the sexy times in this book that she lost even the small amount of villainy that she was given in the book. I truly forgot about her to be completely honest.

The seven kings were generally enjoyable and the reverse harem nature was naughty, but overall, it just seemed like instalust and instalove, with no genuine character development or backstories or layers. "Look at how beautiful Snow is, she's mine, mine, mine without us even having a conversation with her." Listen. I love me some erotic smutty moments (especially vampires because I love them so much and trust me, I was fanning myself during the plethora of repetitive sex scenes in this book to a certain point), but to let me connect with the characters, I needed a little more than "take me because I'm wet all of a sudden and I've never seen you before but you're beautiful and I must obey you to defeat the evil queen." *rolling eyes until I can see my brain*

Maybe because the author wrote a standalone and didn't give herself time to flesh out the characters and the individual relationships with Snow and each other, but I just couldn't give a shit about any of them (maybe with the exception of Lucian since the author gave a little bit more time with him than the others, but he was still not a 3D type of character).
Everything was just thrown in there. Not only are these seven kings gorgeous, all well-endowed, with healing blood and dominion over their subjects, but they had additional powers that just didn't make sense. As if the author was like "I have all these ideas and I'm going to oversaturate my characters with these ideas and make them unbelievably powerful but also--" and just kept going with it.
Snow was strong. But she seriously made some stupid choices. And here we go with another special snow(ha)flake syndrome. Everyone wanted her, she was part of a prophecy, fate was on her side, she was all powerful and the most beloved thing next to sliced freaking bread. I hate this dumbass trope.

The setting and worldbuilding was lackluster and incomplete. The author tried to explain the ways of the vampires and the evil queen's presence in their history, but it was just vague and ambiguous. I wanted more detail and more explanations. This was just one of the very weak points of this story.

The author was also super optimistic about village peoples' emotions and capacity to look for scapegoats and ability to offer forgiveness. Too optimistic, if you ask me. The people of Riverwood were unrealistic and one dimensional. And where the hell did the rebellion and the snowflake go?! As if the author forgot all about this.

Plot? Seriously? What plot? Kill the queen, let's fuck, PREPARE MY SUBJECTS first speech, let's fuck x2, ooooh blood, FUTURE QUEEN OF THE WORLD, lets fuck x3, x4...oh, we have a battle to prepare for, PREPARE MY LOYAL AND NAIVE AND EASILY FORGIVING SUBJECTS fifth speech, oooooh seven kings, lets fuck x5, DIE EVIL QUEEN, oooh lets have a 8thsome. That's it.

So many plot holes, weak points, vague descriptions, and gratuitous character perspectives. Too many to not think about without giving this book a blind eye to everything but the sex.

Would I re-read this book? No.
Would I recommend this book? If you're okay with literally everything about a story being shitty except the sex, and love anything to do with vampires? Then yes. Otherwise, I wouldn't even bother.
Was I entertained? Sure, though I had to skim a lot because I was tired of Snow's perspective and whining and stupid choices and stupidly long speeches and instalust and SpEcIaL SnOwFlAkE syndrome. The only entertaining thing about this story was the vampire aspect.

Peace out, my vampire loving goodreads fiends.

Retelling with RH featuring MM

What a wild ride! One of the absolute best retellings I have ever read. Erase almost everything you know about Snow White and add seven extremely sexy princes who embody the seven deadly sins and you have a vague idea of what this book is about. But wait! There's more! It's dark, violent, and bloody. Be still my effing heart... my mind is blown.

The cover sold me before I even knew what it was about.
Then I read the blurb.
Then the teasers.

Then I read it. I'm still reeling. Love those characters. Especially Dante and Lucien.

Recommend for those who love retellings and RH with MM, but be warned. It's dark. If you have triggers, skip it.

The world building was weird . They’re vampires ok . There’s this castle where you can have sex and live with your mate . Women and men are naked and free to have sex with anyone . There’s ow . One of the men in Rh touches a naked women and h gets jealous so she goes and touches a girl and 2 guys . They are old . And I bet they were man hoe’s .

The first 25 percent its just h getting abused by her step mother. She literally fainted million of times . 😴

Wow, this Snow White retelling really packed a punch. There was A LOT going on. Snow is trapped in her own castle by her evil, magical step mother. She’s convinced that The Evil Queen murdered her father after she catches her speaking to her magical mirror, and the queen flies into a rage, showing her true colors. Now that Snow is grown, she’s forced in front of gross suitor after elderly and even grosser suitor, refusing each time and being whipped to within an inch her life after each refusal. All the while she dreams of cloaked strangers who she tries to run to when she escapes the evil queen.

One day, she finally finds the cloaked men after she finally, successfully runs away from the queen, only to be found and forced back into the castle. Only to be rescued again. She meets the seven kings of sin, Kings of Wrath, Greed, Gluttony, Sloth, Pride, Lust, and Envy. They’re beautiful and deadly, and…vampires. They tell Snow that she is destined to be theirs, and together as they eventually turn her, she will be strong enough to fulfill her destiny; to destroy the evil queen and save her people. And the process of the turning is HOT. Seriously hot, with one of the best group scenes that I’ve ever read.

I really liked Snow, but she seemed to flip back and forth between damaged and overly confident, which felt like two different characters. The sex scenes during her taking of the sin gifts felt repetitive not unique, which was really predictable and took out some of the fun. I did love the kings, but I didn’t love the bleakness that was Snow’s entire almost first half of the book. And I did love her ability to speak to animals, which I felt could have been explored more. Really liked it, didn’t love it, but would recommend! Just prepare yourself that it’s a wee bit too long, but lots about the kings makes up for that.

This was a very interesting retelling of Snow White with a dark twist. Seven lovers based on the seven sins.

The first part of the book was what Snow has to endure from the evil queen, and man was it brutal. She had guards molesting her, she was denied food and water, parading around naked to humiliate her, whipped severely, kept in a freezing dungeon for days at a time. It’s a wonder she actually survives all of this.

And then she finds her seven “lurkers” as she calls them. After that, things change. The book turns into an all out sex fest, and hey I’m not really complaining. I couldn’t get enough as she fucked her way through seven gorgeous men. Ugh, drool. I really wish there was more MM interaction but no big deal. I enjoyed what I did get.

I think I liked Lucian the most out of the seven guys, maybe because he was the first one introduced and seemed to have more “screen time” than the others. I did enjoy Dante too, especially after his and Snow’s sexy time, but I didn’t feel connected too much to the rest. I think the book was too short to have a real connection to each of them, which is definitely okay but something I was missing a little bit. This book would probably have to be a series for that, what with seven of them.

Anyway, I did enjoy this book. It was different and I’m glad I gave it a chance.

I really hated Snow's self-deprecating talk while saying how "perfect" her body is... That is so annoying. She is oblivious to everything that is going on with the Seven Kings. She thinks everything said to her is confusing or cryptic, even when it is said right to her. Eventually she starts to stick up for herself and the self depreciation ceases. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
I loved the fighting scenes and loved the vamps! They've always been a favorite of mine. For the most part, the sex scenes are spicy 🥵🥵 . There are some cheesy thing in the book, but overall was put together nicely.

Loved this so hard

I loved this book so hard. It's a dark twist to Snow White and I couldn't put it down once I started. It keeps you glued to the story. You feel all the abuse towards Snow, so many times I wanted to go through the book and take care of the evil Queen myself. The Seven Sins are so hot and the steaminess of the scenes are out of this world. This is a definite must read, you will not be sorry. You will get all the feels.

Well... Okay. It's basically Vampire Porn with some dark themes thrown in.

Snow is a Princess, but why is she treated worse than a slave? It all started when the Evil Queen wooed Snow's father and married him, after which she promptly killed him. Snow has been subjected to a life of torture and humiliation from the queen. The city is almost at the brink of a rebellion, and that is when Snow spots the first lurker. Legend says there are seven of them, powerful beyond belief. They offer to help her but only if she would give both her body and mind to them in return. Snow agrees, but she doesn't realise what she's gotten into. Now the question is, will she be able to get out of it alive?

I really don't have much to say. As I already said, vampire porn. Seven kings. Seven bodies. Seven sex scenes. Zero personalities. One anti-climatic battle.

It was written really good. The world building was good. Like the author successfully got me into the medieval feel with the lip stain and armour and small descriptions like that.

There was no complex plot. Only the base of Snow over- throwing the Evil Queen. Literally nothing was added to that. No quest for an item or any betrayals or anything like that.

The guys had super bodies but zero personalities. I know literally nothing personal about any of them. Snow was the star of the book. The last battle got over too soon in a blink.

And King Killian betrayed me. Each King had a test for Snow and Killian was the guy that caught my eye and I was eagerly waiting for his test but there wasn't one since there was no time and Snow needed to get ready to hand over her soul to them and there was just this huge orgy and no test. Literally everyone else did something fun except Killian. Hmph. I'm disappointed.

These are all the thoughts I have on the book. It was quite graphic. Both the sex and the torture, so mind that. Otherwise, people looking for smut will like this, I guess. Happy Reading!!

One thing I will say for this book is it’s off the Fucking charts HOTTTTTT! While they MCs may be vampires-sex and lust take center stage in this book. It took awhile for me to understand the direction the author was heading with melding vampires, RH, a Snow White retelling and the Seven Deadly Sins. Like the real Grimm fairy tales life is bleak and painful. The Snow in the book knows that firsthand, having suffered years under the brutal torment of her stepmother. A woman who through brutal torture and manipulation tries to break Snow daily. The abuse is rather graphic, but like the sex, the author keeps it real and shows the good the bad and the ugly. To be honest given the cover I expected a lot more blood to grace the pages ala Carrie meets True Blood meets 2020 porn flick. 😂 Snow suffers at her stepmothers hands day after day yet her heart remains pure. To escape though she’s going to have to be bad, she’s going to have to sin and she’s going to learn to love it. I wish the ending was fleshed out a bit more but maybe the author left it a bit open for a reason?! How Snow will escape & how she will save her kingdom is all up to her and the 7 Kings she must submit everything to. Her fate and the fate of the kingdom lies in her ability to be reborn a badass Vampire Queen Bitch!!!! I enjoyed the book and think the authors blend of so many elements was super exciting and made for a great read.

I just don't care. I was interested in the set up and the world, but the farther in I got the less interested I became. It has such a good premise but it has no business being 500+ pages. The whole thing was dragging too much for me overall.

I almost did not finish this book at ~70% but I pushed through to the end even though I just wanted to put it down and start something new. I'm just not a fan of instant love and it felt like Snow was mostly using the guys to gain power to defeat the evil queen and wasn't focused on forming genuine connections/relationships with any of them. I also don't understand how she can go from 0 to 1,000 when it comes to the sexual situations depicted in the book, made no sense to me. And the plot was somewhat predictable in relation how the book would end. Overall, this book had too much in some areas but at the same time didn't have enough in other areas.

This was nothing like the fairy tale you grew up reading.

This book is dark, violent, gritty, and full of heat. This Sorry follows the typical tale of Snow who is hated by her evil stepmother but takes on an epic twist of supernatural and evil.

This story was captivating and cruel and I couldn’t stop turning the pages. It dark but lovely in a sense that Snow found her place among the Seven.

It was beautifully written but please heed the warning that this tale is not for the faint of heart.

If you love delicious dark retellings. THIS BOOK IS FOR YOU

Savage is a pure genius with this book and honestly kicking myself not reading this earlier. The seven sins truly embody the sins and the idea behind this book is genius. Savage has a new fan in me and I can't wait to devour other books that I have of her's. This brilliantly written taking the elements we know and creating an epic paranormal romance that I didn't want to end.

I really wanted to love this book, but for me it was just missing something.

First, the abuse of Snow I think went on WAY too long… it is like 30% of the book is her being tortured… I am a blood and guts aficionado and I love a good torture scene, but it got to the point where i just felt it was gratuitous and didn’t add to the story. I got that Snow had a horrible life and was tortured within the first 15% of the book.

Characters… I thought Snow was honestly TSTL most of the time. Seriously, she made some seriously flawed choices that had me shaking my head and the Seven? I couldn’t tell them apart. I had to make a cheat sheet note with their sin and name so I could understand who was who. I think with sin’s it should be easy to delineate who was who, but there just wasn’t enough development for those characters. They all had the same voice in my opinion.

And y’all will not believe you heard this from me.. I am a SMUT lover, the more sex the better, the kinkier the better… and this book was mostly sex… but I got bored. The steam felt repetitive, kind of rinse and repeat. It didn’t get me all hot and bothered… and some of it was just a little off to me.

And then the ending… The ending happened in like one chapter… The ending was anticlimactic and underwhelming. Overall, this was a miss for me.

I tried, but could not get into this book. The FMC was too stupid to live, and a doormat. I kept internally rolling my eyes and sighing at her antics. And I was bored with the plot. Nothing really happened outside of her getting tortured or dreaming of being tortured.

Since I own this book, perhaps I will pick it up in the future, but with my TBR being so long, I doubt it.

Trigger warning: heavy abuse

In this retelling of Snow White and the Seven Dwarves, Snow is held captive by the evil queen when suddenly she is whisked away. Not by seven dwarves, but by the seven deadly kings. Will she be able to save her kingdom, or run away?

This books seems to almost have it all in terms of kinks. It is riddled in sex, and makes me want to take a break from how heavy it's centered on that. I don't know how the author does it, but she is able to describe scenes with 8+ people in it quite easily. The main character can be irrational at times, but overall the plot was very well done.

Excellent Retelling

This book is definitely something I would recommend to RA readers. I loved the interesting take on Snow White and the inclusion of the seven sins. I do have a few complaints, though. The last part of the book goes by very quickly, the author reuses ideas throughout the book (Snow repeats actions several times), and there is a sense of naivete that seems out of place. Overall, though, I truly enjoyed the book, LOVED the steamy scenes, and would definitely read more from this author!

Well this was good in parts and great in others. I loved this retelling with all the authors twists on the classic. i loved the idea of the seven kings and how they all represent a sin. My favorite was Sloth who was King Dante. I liked how the animals helped Snow. I liked the picture the author painted off how bad it was for Snow and everyone in the beginning. I just wish the final battle lasted longer and we saw more of a fight, although how the Step mother died was good.
