With Prince Henrick dead, a foreign army in league with the king, and the palace taken, Reid must find a way to right the wrongs for the people of Marsden.

Reid never expected to find love, friendship, or her mother in the kingdom of Axian. She also never expected to become a leader for her people. With the king threatening to overthrow the dukes and take complete control of the kingdom, Reid realizes she may be the only one in a position to stop him. With the ring her father gave her, the commanders of the army at her side, and a master schemer in league with her, Reid just might be able to pull off the greatest upset in Marsden history—all she has to do in step into the role she was born for.

To protect her kingdom, Reid must outsmart them all. Luckily, she’s spent the last eighteen year learning the art of manipulation, and she isn’t above putting those skills to the test.

***4 solid stars***

This whole Knights of the Realm series was a solid 4 star read. It surprised me from the beginning and I thoroughly enjoyed all three books. RTC.

3.5 STARS ★★★✬✩
This book is for you if… the series has gotten you this far. It’s not the powerful conclusion I’ve wanted but a decent one nonetheless.

Overall.
My expectations weren't fully met, that's for sure. I always want the peak of the last book in a series to be especially epic, especially if it's a fantasy series. Hidden Knights sadly didn't live up to that. It was a good book, but not more.

My favourite aspect of Hidden Knights definitely was the bonding of the duchesses in place of their men. I loved how Reid sees the potential of what she managed to do in others as well and isn't willing to leave half the population behind in a revolution. Most importantly, we finally get some PG sexy time between Dexter and Reid. Ugh, I've been waiting for some swoon ever since it was obvious they didn't actually dislike each other. I also have this thing for Dexter. He'll never surpass Gunther, but who could?

There was one point in the book I had the desire to eye-roll myself into oblivion: . Ugh, of course he does. It was just too much.

If we're being very nitpicky about the matter, . This series has a powerful feminist agenda and with this, it really failed the Bechtel test.

What’s happening.
Reid and her allies are finally on their way straight to dethrone Eldon and kill him in the process, if they must. But it quickly becomes clear that they're trusting people they shouldn't trust. All the while, the leader of the knights of the realm, Reid's believed-to-be-dead-mother Anna, follows an agenda of their own that threatens to undermine their mission.

4 STARS.Would stay up beyond my typical hours to finish it. I found some minor details I didn't like, agree with or lacked in some kind but overall, this was enjoyable and extraordinary.

3 STARS.Decent read that I have neither strongly positive nor negative feelings about. Some things irked me and thus it does not qualify as exceptional.

This book needed much less Dexter and much more Ackley.

Overall this book was a good, entertaining read but I feel like it was poorly paced and there was not enough description or elaboration for certain elements. Most of the time I feel books move too slowly, but this one moved too quickly at the expense of world building and emotional attachment to the characters.

Why would you go for someone as boring as Dexter when there's Ackley?

Thank you, Reign Publishing and Jennifer Anne Davis for providing me with an arc of this book in exchange for an honest review.

FBRC REVIEW :
I literally squealed when Reign Publishing contacted me and asked if I wanted the arc for Hidden Knights. I have wanted to read this final book for such a long time (though, it wasn't that long) to see what will happen and how the story will be concluded. I am very happy to say the book did not disappoint. The book was fast-paced and longer than the first two books and for that, I was really grateful. I wanted more from the characters and their interactions. I read it as soon as I got it and flew through it. The story was very engaging and entertaining with something happening every other moment and you do not want to miss any of it. I got more of Ackley being Ackley which I was all here for. If you love the romantic aspect of the story, you will be happy to know that there were a lot of flirty sequences with Reid and Dexter. Some new romances to look out for possibly, a new character was introduced. I think overall the book was enjoyable and an engaging and entertaining read. I felt happy and did have a smile on my face with the conclusion, but if I have to pick my favorites of the 3 books, I would pick the first two. The story is short and so all the events take place within a relatively shorter time frame, but overall it was engaging and Jennifer Anne Davis does a great job of concluding the series. I felt some characters could have gotten their own POV to get more of the background and tell readers their story. Having said that this book is definitely something fantasy readers or new-to-fantasy readers can pick up, as it's great and amazing and such a quick read. I gave the book 4.5 -5 stars. I am so happy to read it and highly recommend checking it out if you are interested in political conflicts, political intrigue, and spies, secret organizations, low-key romance and arranged marriages, hate-to-love tropes. The book will be published on March 10th. Definitely check it out!!

going from the second book to the last was kinda downhill....downn downn hill

so first of all the last instalment of any series should be the one that answer all the question that's been put out through out the whole entire series. after finishing the last book, there was still questions for me that needed to be answered, and to make things more confusing there were more confusing plot that were added in this last book that adds to my long list of question.

the one thing that I found I didn't like was that sometimes the character would say something, and then a couple pages in they would say something completely opposite to what they've just said prior. so a lot of contradiction through out the entire series.

The only thing that makes me give it 4 stars was the enemies to lover trope in this book. you know by now that I'm trash for that, so the premise itself kind of save my whole view of the series. also I didn't mind the amount of smut that was sprinkled here and there,*winkwink. didn't regret reading this but also wouldn't be the first to pop in my head when recommending someone for a book.

I'm sure this book is fine, but I only half-read it and I only did that for Ackley.

I will never understand why anyone would want a Dexter when Ackley's right there, in fiction. Entirely capable, badass and funny. Reid didn't deserve him.

What a a great conclusion to an awesome adventure.

There were so many twists and turns in this story. So many working parts. Looking back I can see how the author was setting the scene in the first book. I almost didn’t get the second book because I thought it was a fun story but I just don’t care for YA like I used to. I’m so glad I kept going with this series because every book was better than the last. Honestly I think the first book was the weakest of the three.

I fell in love with the characters, partly because they were so well written, but a large part was because the narrator was excellent. She did so many accents flawlessly and authentically. And she switched between them in conversations seamlessly. She made subtle changes to her voice for different characters that she maintained throughout the entirety of the series. For example, Atlee had a lazy almost laidback quality when he spoke. Gordon was kind of nasally. And in the first book she was attracted to him. I kept thinking, this can’t be the love interest in the series, right? He sounds like a dweeb. Looking back, I think the narrator did this on purpose so we wouldn’t attach ourselves to the wrong man. Even though Dexter only made a quick appearance in the first book I was intrigued by him right away because his voice was more pleasing. This is a talented narrator. I will gladly listen to anything Kim Bretton narrates.

Ok. I loved book 1 and book 2. However, this book has left me disappointed - it is not bad but just not good enough !

Firstly, the pacing is slower and the story is somewhat stagnant for the most part. There is action and intrigue yes but it somehow misses that fevered excitement of the previous books.

Secondly, the overall plot is weak once it comes into play and has plenty of convenient coincidences like Owen’s timely capture/appearance (how did Seb grab him and bring him undetected?), the Idina and Owen pairing (obvious a mile away), immediate acceptance of Owen, and all that rigmarole about Anna. Then there are also the plot holes and open ends like where did Henrik end up, what was the hype about the minerals, Reid handling the final encounter by herself (which went against everyone else’s character), the grandparents and their distance, why did Harlow warn Reid, and the rushed Harlow-Anna play in the end.

But the main reason why I didn’t enjoy and dig this book was how Ackley’s story arc was developed. Ackley by far is the best character of the series and treating him so shabbily with such a forced romantic story arc was just not good at all. I wish he’d retained his original brother-sister feelings and ended up with Gytha with a Reid-free conscience. I knew it from the moment that Reid got kidnapped that Ackley would die for Dexter for Reid’s sake and that just ruined the book for me big time ! Also, how Reid handled Ackley’s feelings and their final meeting left so much to be desired - with all their history together, it was just not cool !

Lastly, I hated how the author strung me, the reader, along - first, with the slow romance of Reid and Dexter even after marriage with those mixed signals from Ackley as if there was some hope of Reid and Ackley. It didn’t help that Dexter is a caricature of himself in this book and pretty wooden. I just didn’t connect to him nor like him ! Secondly, the author also strung me along with the slow story pacing and then rushing everything in the final chapters.

Overall, it’s a fair ending to the series but I’m not happy especially with what happened with Ackley and that soured the experience for me.

Wow!

I'm sitting here with a smile on my face! Mrs Davis is AMAZING! This is definitely my second favorite series ever. Then, when I read Russek was involved it made me even happier she connected my all time favorite series to this one. It was only a small connection but now there is so many directions she can go with this. Do we connect them all together or leave them separate? So many options.
First I want to express my disappointment that Reid didn't end up with Ackley. I did like Dexter but there was so much to love about Ackley! He was awesome through the entire series. I hope some how she makes a spin off series with him, Indiana Gytha and Owen. Maybe Dexter will die and Ackley will come in to swoop her up? 😄😄 The way things turned out was fantastic though. I never expected Anna to be so evil! I'm glad she got what was coming to her. Even a spin off with the new leader of the Knights would be amazing! Anything this talented woman writes you can count me in! The True Reign series, Reign of Secrets series and now Knights of the Realm series................all the best series I have ever read. Definitely 10 out of 5 stars 😉!

Well, I was right about one thing. I am going to miss this series so much, I am so sad the adventure is over for now. I'm thrilled that the author announced a spinoff series with Ackley as the main character. However, I like Ackley but I much more prefer Dexter and Reid.

Plot:
With Prince Henrick dead, a foreign army in league with the king, and the palace taken, Reid must find a way to right the wrongs for the people of Marsden.

Reid never expected to find love, friendship, or her mother in the kingdom of Axian. She also never expected to become a leader for her people. With the king threatening to overthrow the dukes and take complete control of the kingdom, Reid realizes she may be the only one in a position to stop him. Before I started to read this book I looked through some reviews and found that one said that they felt the author was throwing way too many plot twists and turns into one book. I can see where this person is coming from and I kind of agree with them. There is a lot happening in this book and you rarely get the chance to catch your breath. This book should've been at least a 100 pages longer to give the reader more time to process everything. I felt genuinely tired after finishing.

I do have to say though, that with the exception of one or two plot twists, I feel as if nearly all the twists and turns do contribute to the story. There were a few things that in my opinion should’ve been left out because it made no sense. Everything else brought a lot of excitement and the book was action packed and fast paced. I also felt as if there were still, at the ending of the book, too many loose ends that should have been wrapped up better.

I am still in love with Reid and Dexter's relationship. Many YA books nowadays have romance but it is just written so childish. Characters are blind in love, they fight all the time because they love each other so much, they can hardly breathe when together etc. Just such bullshit. Jennifer Anne Davis gave us the relationship these kind of books deserve. The relationship between Dexter and Reid is just so mature. They can talk about anything together, they value each other's opinion, they tell one another everything, no hiding secrets, no arguing over who knows best etc. It just so nice to read about such a wonderful mature relationship while a lot of flirting takes place and that makes swoon worthy.

If there was something I could change then I would've drawn out the ending a bit more and given us a bit more if an in depth look into how the kingdom was run after the wedding. Like an epilogue on the future. But perhaps we will get more of that in the spinoff series. I do hope the author will revisit Reid and Dexter in the future, I am very curious to see how these characters evolve through time.
I am so in love with this series and I know I will be rereading this a lot of times in the future.

*Thoughts*

Hidden Knights is the third and final installment in author Jennifer Anne Davis's Knights of the Realm trilogy. Lady and Knight of the Realm, Reid Ellington, has found herself in a political quandary that she never expected when she agreed to marry Dexter Winston. King Eldon, who tried to kill her friend Ackley, has taken over, forcing Reid and her allies to flee to Ellington. After years of believing that her mother died during childbirth, secrets have surfaced that make that story not believable.

Thank you Reign Publishing for giving me the opportunity to read an early copy of this amazing book! I am sad to see this series end but I am happy with how the final book played out. I love Reid and Dexter's story so much. I love Jennifer's writing style and the personalities of her characters. There was not one character I didn't like how they were portrayed throughout the book. The action and the suspense was great throughout the book. There were several times I thought something bad was going to happen but then it turned out alright in the end. I would love to see the author revisit this world and show us how Axian fares after Dexter and Reid take reign. I believe they will make a great paring and ruler with the help of their new found ally. If you have not picked up this series you should! One of my all time favorites!

It was a quick and enjoyable read. I'm glad to get to the conclusion of this trilogy. The twist at the end was well maintained, but this conclusion still left something to be desired.

Reid continues to be a bland and uninspiring protagonist. Alanna of Trebond, she is not. Frankly, the side characters show more growth and vulnerability than she does (tho I do think we spent too much time on Ackley and not other members of the royal family). Her continued frustrating reluctance to grow and feel and not involve other women in her journey (outside of warriors like Gytha) annoyed me cuz it felt like Davis was saying that unless you can fight, you're worthless.

It was what it was. Thought it was enjoyable, I can't see myself rereading this series again since it frankly ran out of steam at the end and didn't neatly wrap up plot holes.

First off: This was yet again a really entertaining read! The world is one I could continue losing myself in, so knowing there’s a spin-off coming our way has me really excited.

But while there’s a LOT to enjoy in this world, I also think it was a bit disappointing for a closing-book regarding this particular story-line. Some things were resolved so quickly and a lot just went too easily for my taste, whereas other things just weren’t always focused on enough. I can’t really put a finger to it, but it sometimes just feels a bit chaotic and superficial regarding things I’d normally like to see more of when looking at some writing technicalities- hence the 3 star rating, which I'm sticking with for now haha.

Even though I just feel like there’s a lot of development/extended writing lacking, especially for a last book it was also yet again a super fast paced read that I didn’t want to put down, with characters present whom were yet again sooo lovable. I’m constantly going back and forth feeling like I love the characters, this world, the politics and the writing style, but there remains something lacking as well and it really bugs me haha. It’s a feeling that has stuck with me throughout all 3 books, and combined with the rushed ending, I think it was a read that was Just enjoyable, but nothing spectacular to me. This is a trilogy that has been super fun to read as an in-between read and provided me with some truly enjoyable reading experiences, so I'm definitely thankful for that!

I am also excited already to read the spin-off series: Can’t wait to see what Ackley’s story is going to be like and hopefully we’ll see some of the characters I met in this trilogy make an appearance as well. This author's writing has somehow put a spell on me. The books aren't spectacular on all fronts all the time, but they somehow are just unputdownable.

It’s so weird to me that this book is being rated a 3 star read! It’s not like I didn’t like it but the level was so different from the first two books and it could really be shown.

- I didn’t mind the ending, in fact it ended sort of how I expected and I was glad. I felt content and happy with it.
- The characters development was good. I felt like Ackley developed most of all and had a good rapport with everyone in the book.
- I kind of wanted more from Dexter in this book and felt like he was second to Reid which isn’t the vibe I got from the first book. I thought Reid carried on being the powerful, strong female she was and I liked this.

I can’t quite put my finger on what I didn’t love but there was definitely something lacking. Maybe the predictability? The filler filled chapters? The ending? I can’t quite decide.

Overall, I would recommend this series though and I did really enjoy it!

The series began with an interesting plot and I loved where the story was going with the first two books. But I was disappointed by this third book.
We find out that Dexter's father was alive! Then what was all that drama in the last book??? Reid's mother turned out to be a villain! Dexter's character became very uninteresting and had no important role other than standing next to Reid or flirting with her! Ackley was behaving super weird and in the end he says he was in love with Reid! It was hard to digest such a turn of characters.
And I was expecting some nice action with so many armies led by women, but I got nothing! The story was very plain and simple, it could have been much more.

Decent love story

I'll be honest- I would have stopped at book 2 of not for the love story between Dexter & Reid. otherwise, this author needs to calm down. Too many twists & turns and far too many characters! There are about 4 conspiracy plots, 5 million people in love with one person but married to someone else, way too many royals, I lost count of the armies & who is in charge of whom. I get it. You want intrigue & don't want to be predictable. But the author kept throwing a new prince, a new army, or a new assassination attempt each chapter! Then at the end, the story read like 25 separate sentences with no continuity. I felt like this was written by a teenager who had a great idea & tried spit it all out in one day! The storyline could have been great but you just tried to do too much. And sadly, I have no interest in other stories because I fear this is a common theme by this author😔

This book is an epic conclusion to the series! I was already captivated in chapter 1 which picks right up from the cliffhanger at the end of book 2. I absolutely love this series. Great character development. Action and adventure. Love. Really... what more could I ask for! Jennifer Anne Davis has done it again! I highly recommend this book series! And if you haven’t read the True Reign series...... seriously go start it now!

The kingdom is at war. Who is on which side? Who is the rightful king? People who are supposed to be dead suddenly show up much alive? Is nothing as it is supposed to be? Exciting conclusion to the Knights of the Realm series.

***WARNING There are many SPOILERS!!! *** sorry lots on my mind.

I did really like this book but there were some things that I feel are missing that should have been touch on by the end or there were something's that didn't make since such as:
At the beginning when they are at Reid's grandparents talking about leaving because it's not safe Anna says Reid will go with her because she will keep her safe. But Reid doesn't go with her and they never indicate why she leaves with Dexter and the other. I mean I understand stand she doesn't trust Anna but I feel like I missed something. That was just a weird little thing I noticed that I had to reread because I was confused.
Also, your never told about the mines. Reid goes to them and they want to know what's going on with the things they mine but we don't find out.
I also found it weird they never found anything on Harlow but if it were me I still wouldn't have trusted her because there was something she was hiding.
I also felt it kind of rushed with Anna wanting to get rid of Dexter so soon. I get she wanted all the family gone but Reid wasn't even crowned yet and she wanted him gone. Wouldn't Anna want Reid in a good position as queen and deciding things and getting people on her side. But I guess her true goal was to get rid of the royal family.
Oh and speaking of royal family we never got the details about Nara, Indina, and her moms assassin and what happened with them. We know they are ok but with this book it seemed like when big things happened Reid would be told at least the outcome.
And where's my Epilog! The way she ended was cute but I'm picturing her giving birth or something and maybe breaking the weird curse of only girls in her family.

I'm just going to rate this trilogy all together because simply put there was nothing impressive about any of the books. I have read other series by this author and enjoyed them but this one was not for me. It had a very immature feel to it in each of the 3 books. Our lead female acts like shes 12 years old. She continually blushes and gets embarrassed anytime sex is so much as mentioned. So here is my breakdown of the 3 books:

Book 1 was free at least when I got it, Id rate this one a 3 star.
Book 2 was more like a 2.5 star for me. I paid $4.99 for this one.
Book 3 sucked. I'm going to rate that one a 1.5 star. I also paid $4.99 for this one.

So long review cut short...………….the characters all felt overly juvenile to me. I paid $10 to read this trilogy and would not recommend others do the same. After completing this trilogy I was mostly irritated with myself for reading all 3 of these books and wasting my time and money. Do check out some of this writers other work though. Just not this particular series.

What a great series. I'm so glad that I found this hidden gem because I had so much fun reading all three of these books. My only regret is that I do wish I had buddy read these with someone, because I had so much commentary on like everything (especially in the second book lol), and I really wanted to share with someone who would understand. I put most of my commentary into the updates, but it would have been nice to have someone to chat with about it. Although, if I had done a buddy read then I wouldn't have been able to read the books so quickly. I literally finished the whole series in less than 2 days. I just couldn't stop myself, the books were that good. I had to keep reading because I wanted to find out what happened so bad. Sadly, that means I'm already done with the series and didn't really get to savor it. I'll definitely be checking out other books by this author because these ones were amazing!!

This book was a little slower for me. Everyone is at a stand still while they are planning and organizing for the war we all knew was coming. Reid and Dexters relationship really picks up. And the fun and banter kind of dwindled due to yknow, the threat of war.
I did love the conclusion to everything for this series. I’m excited to see Ackley get his happy ending. My heart broke for him, I hate unrequited love! It’s just so sad! But I did see a duology for him, so it’s not over yet!

Content: clean but more mature.
Romance: innuendo, kissing, fade to black.
Violence: possibly the most of the series due to the war, but still not gruesome.
Language: none.
