You never know when an ordinary day in Magnolia Cove will turn into one that’s extraordinary—and not in a good way.
All heck breaks loose when Pepper and her cousins accidentally release a magic eater into their beloved town. At first, they’re not sure what kind of evil they’ve unleashed, but when bodies start dropping, it’s clear this magic eater intends to feast on people in town.
Pepper must stop the creature from claiming more victims and attempt to plan her wedding to Axel Reign. Can she and her friends stop the magic eater or will a member of the Craple family become its next victim?
Starring a cast of characters from previous books including hat shop owner Sylvia Spirits, school headmaster Saltz Swift and goofy real estate agent CJ Hix, Southern Conjuring will keep you on the edge of your seat right until the end!

If you’re dying to know more about my wacky life, here are three things you don’t know about me. —In college I spent a semester at Marvel Comics working in the X-Men office. —I worked at Carnegie Hall. —I grew up in a barbecue restaurant—literally. This may have been my favorite book in this entire series so far! I absolutely loved the mystery we are dealing with here! Sue to the laziness of our most favorite three cousins, they attempt a little cleaning spell. Well, this was so much more than they ever bargained for! Action and terror immediately ensue within the city limits of Magnolia Cove! The spell wasn’t a clean magical spell but more so a trick, and an evil one at that! This spell released a spirit that eats magic and the lives of witches! Absolute chaos just unravels as Betty and the talented witches of Magnolia Cove try to figure all of this out! I loved this installment because of how incredibly action packed it was! These books are so much fun to read when they almost feel like an episode of a show! I cannot wait to start the next book because we just keep getting closer and closer to Pepper and Axel’s wedding day!
This is an entertaining Supernatural cozy mystery series. A funcastive characters and an entertaining storyline. Pepper done is a which who owns a familiar shop in a small magical town in the south. She lives with her grandmother and two cousins. Grandmother is a matriarch of the town and sometimes gets into trouble or causes trouble. Pepper and her boyfriend a private investigator and half witch half werewolf are soon to be married. Together they help the local police solve crimes and save the town every so often from supernatural dangers and just other supernatural criminals. It’s a fun and entertaining series to read. Check it out
I knew it would be hard to beat the previous book. Even stepping into its shadow would be tough.
Overall this book felt more like a filler episode. The mystery was really obvious and I spent most of the book frustrated at how stupid everyone was being. After solving 12 murders, you'd think they'd be a little more savvy on things like this. Even Axel, it was very out of character for him to just overlook the obvious.
The one good thing was seeing some positive for Mint and Licky. They are fun characters, though I wish we saw them just a tad more.
If I ever get around to rereading the series, this book will be in the list of books to skip
Pepper and her cousins are back, and just when we expect chaos from the screw-up aunts the Sweet Tea Witches (specifically Cordelia) cause the real problem! The plot twists and red herrings are well placed, and the resolution to the mystery has both happy and sad aspects. Thankfully, the irritatingly soap oper-ish triangle seems resolved, and Pepper is reading more as a woman interested in owning her power and less as a teenager fawning over the cute boy. Now, if we could just lose the overuse (and misuse) of "smirk"...
Amelia, Cordelia, and Pepper accidentally release a nasty creature who lives by eating the magic from witches. It all started when Cordelia's boyfriend was on his way to the house to see her and Amelia was elbow deep in washing out empty jars from the vault. All they wanted was a temporary cleaning spell, but it turned out to be something completely different. Read to see what happens with the release of the magic eater and how they finally solved the mystery of how it arrived and how to get rid of it! 😍
Good night golly! This book has everything from mayhem to madness involved. The cast ramps up to save the town again and let me say, you will skates on to keep up with everything. There were times I wanted to hoot and howl with glee and other times I just hung my head and silently prayed that they really hadn’t just said or done that.
This group of characters truly do suck you right into the book, you can’t help but fine one or three that you relate to.
I had taken a break from the paranormal mystery books for a while because they were all bleeding in as just a glob of characters I didn't care about. I'm glad I did because it breathed some new life into my love of these weirdos. So note to self, or anyone else out there like me, take a break and don't always binge your books. You will find you like the stories better if you have a palate cleanser or 2 in between.
I do like the writing but sometimes it can become a little too sappy. I love love but her words sometimes crosses the line into nausea. They are times in this series where the witches go from endearing to plain old slow on the uptake. I do have to mention that she seems to forget she covered a topic in a previous book and reveals it differently in a later version. Overall a nice way to spend an afternoon.
Sometimes magic can go wrong and in this book it does. Pepper and some others accidentally conjure up a monster that eats magic. It's a truly major problem for her. Then there's a talking opossum and an egotistical wizard to complicate matters. Then there seems to be a murder. Or was it the magic eater?
Another bunch of problems for Pepper to solve. Basically, solve or die, pretty much.
In this book Pepper and her cousins are tricked into releasing a magic eater. It is after Betty and 5 others who accidentally called a Blight into Magnolia Cove trying to save it. Pepper must find out who released the magic eater before it wipes out the town. Amy Boyles is an amazing storyteller.
Possums are NOT rodents, they are marsupials, which are NOT related to rodents. The second big mistake was the author saying that possums can get rabies. THEY CANNOT EVER GET RABIES! Also, they don’t carry rabies. This author needs to do a little more research when writing her books.
This was a fantastic read in a really good series. I really love Pepper as a main character and this was a really good story line and we even find out Betty wasn't always good and perfect. I love all the side characters and really enjoyed this book in the series. A good fast read that will keep the reader wanting more.
At a party to initiate t wo more witches into a club, a spell goes awry. A good spell used for personal gain gets transformed into something dangerous and deadly. To find out how it turns out read this book.
Another great book! This series is full of family, laughs, magic, mysteries and mayhem! I absolutely love this series. Once I start reading I can't stop. I highly recommend this series!!
A whirlwind of events happen in this instalment! I really didn't expect the reveal and was completely mouth hanging open shocked at the end. Bigger magics and bigger baddies are ramping up in each new book in the series, and it's so much fun to read.
The books in this series get better and better. Loved the twists and turns in this book. Couldn't guess the bad guy until the author chose to reveal it.
I read this series for free through Kindle Unlimited. I never expect much from them, but they are typically fun and entertaining. This one, though...just ok.
This is a well written and developed characters. The story is catching and with the strong characters makes for a very enjoyable read. Great Reading Everyone!
I love how unique each story is yet there's a thread tying them all together. I've yet to read one that doesn't capture my imagination from the very beginning; hope I didn't just jinx myself.
20 years ago, a possom was placed under a house to contain a blight. When she finally is freed she stops a magic eater from destroying Magnolia Crossing.
I just love the Sweet Tea Witch Mysteries series. These are just the right amount of connection between the characters, mischief, and magic. They are a light read when you don't want anything super serious. I highly recommend!
I have enjoyed all the Sweet Tea Witches series until this one. I thought it was a bit too far out there for Pepper Dunn, even though they are witches. I look forward to the next book though.
SPOILERS AHEAD: I started this series last week I read every book that is out. Even though this book didn't hold my interest as much as the others, I can't wait for the next book. I went into this knowing that certain characters would end up together... it was kind of predictable. It's like a hallmark movie, you know they like each other they get together and they fight/misinterpret things only to be reunited and fall in love. Yet you still read it. Axel. Werewolf /PI well... he was kind of boring to me. He just not who I would have picked for pepper. I just feel he isn't right for her. Everyone and I mean everyone wants them together. I personally feel that their relationship is too rushed. I can't be around you/ I love you / let's be mated/let's get married. When Pepper investigates he is always I MUST PROTECT. Don't get me wrong I don't hate on alpha males but he is always saying I'm sorry I'm just too protective of you. I would have asked for space, but that's just me. I feel like he doesn't want her to do anything and when she does he questions her. Let's talk about Rufus... He is fantastic I don't know why, but I'm drawn to characters like him. I feel like he would do anything and everything for pepper. Everyone questions him. No wonder he is the way he is. Judgy. I would like if they would end up together but let's face it she is going to end up with axel. As for the rest of the characters I love them all. I love the sarcasm and humor in these books. Betty craple is my favorite besides Rufus Mayes. I would recommend this series.
