Nice Christmas novella. Another Raven turns up to steal the heart of a Sinclair.

This was a lovely story set around Christmas time. All the family were gathered for the wedding, I enjoyed the usual banter especially with Cam but also the loving connection between them all. Kate and Rory were very engaging characters. Kate has a caring nature and Rory had a very hard life but there was an instant attraction between them. However, Rory didn’t think he was good enough for Kate and he needed to return to France. This was a good paced entertaining read.

I’m sad to say that as much as I love this series I am disappointed in this instalment. It felt rushed. The whole thing.
I’ve the last book already downloaded as I want to finish the series, I have my fingers crossed this book is a one off and the next back to the previous templates.

The Sinclair and Raven stories are auto buys for me now. I can always depend that they will be fantastic stories. Seductive Danger is a novella but certainly did not feel short changed in the story. Definitely worth the read.

I liked this series, but the last few have absolutely dragged. This is one particular was rife with continuity errors--not just from the other books but even within itself, and as it is a novella and not long to begin with, that is particularly poor editing.

I love this series. This book continues the saga that Ravens marry Sinclair’s. Kate saves Rory’s life and she falls in love. He however is determined to leave as soon as possible.

Seductive Danger – (A Sinclair & Ravel Holiday Novella) – Wendy Vella
The Sinclair family was given the job of protecting any member of the House of Raven. All the Sinclair’s have heightened senses, hearing, sight, smell and use of herbs/taste. This holiday novella is the story of Rory Huntington, the brother of Max Huntington and James, Duke of Raven and Kate Sinclair, sister to Wolf Sinclair.
It’s early morn, at Raven Castle and Kate Sinclair can’t sleep. She can’t figure out why so she takes Myrtle (the family dog) and she and Myrtle make their way down Crunston Cliff to the beach. Maybe a walk along the beach will ease her mind. What she doesn’t expect to find is a man, trussed up with rope and a bullet wound behind a rock with his dog (Bran) keeping watch over him. With the tide beginning to rise Kate must get the man moving and up the cliff to get him back to Oak ‘s Knoll (her Sinclair cousins home) where she can treat the man’s bullet wound and warm him up. Of course, being a Sinclair she has already made it know she is in need of help, by calling out knowing that her cousin with the heightened sense of hearing will hear Kate’s call for help and it should be at the top of the cliff when she and the gentleman arrive.
What Kate does not expect to find is all the Sinclair/Raven men awaiting nor does she expect to find out that the man she has just rescued is Rory Huntington, brother to Maxwell Huntington who is married to her cousin Essex.
Max had left his family, brother Rory and sister Maddie and there are a lot of bad feelings that have built up in Rory over the years, as he felt his older brother had abandoned them.
Since the Sinclair/Raven families have gathered at the Castle for a wedding, everyone is pushing Rory to stay and spend more time recovering but he is determined to leave and not discuss anything with his brother. It seems that the brothers may be at an impasse except there is Kate Sinclair who feels a pull towards Rory and he to her. Is it the Raven/Sinclair protection story bringing these two together? Will Rory calm down enough to actually give Max a listen as to why he left. Can these brothers bridge this gap between them and will Kate and Rory end up as a couple as is always the case when a Sinclair saves a Raven.

This entire series (superpower are individual family senses) is one of my favourites hands down.
my personal markers for a great read...1. smart and engaging writing, 2. Humorous, 3. sexy interactions and 4. stories with family/friends.
I love series around family members or a group of friends. I love the series even more when the author intertwines those characters throughout the book series (it’s a pet peeve when authors don’t do that because what’s the point of the series and introducing the characters if they are not going to interact throughout the series). This entire series intertwines all characters from each book...I loved it.
There’s enough info provided that readers MAY be interested in the pervious and upcoming book(s).
I loved the writing around the women empowerment (it wasn’t over the top for me). Badass women rock.
The development and interest in main characters, H/H well paired, and Secondary characters are super enjoyable.
Movement of the book flowed for the most part. Book writing/conversation engaging with some action thrown in.
Laugh out loud humorous moments.
Romance content 4/5
sexual content 1.5/5 hotness and steam.
Would recommend this book and author.
You can read each book individually however you will not get the full picture of the series unless you read the series in its order.

Rory and Kate. I loved this novella. At the castle for her sister's wedding (Alice to Nicholas book 6), she is drawn to the beach and finds him tied up with a gunshot wound. She rescues him and Essie (Max (his brother)'s wife) nurses him back to health. There was an instant attraction but being a loner for so long he kept pushing her away with crude talk and all around being rude. Not wanting to need anyone, he keeps trying to leave the castle but is thwarted over and over by various members of the family. Slowly the wear on him and he enjoys being part of a loving family that instantly accepted him. He stops denying his feelings for Kate but ends up in a sticky situation when the men that shot him and left him for dead are found stealing from James (Duke of Raven). Trying to protect his family, he appears to work with them and Kate gets shot. Lilly heals her, she realizes she made a rush to judgment and that in her rush she was wrong. They fall in love and he asks to marry her.

I've been working my way through the Raven and Sinclair series for the last few months.
I wasn't drawn to the characters as much in this book as I have in others., I think it might have to do with the fact that Kate barely features in the previous books, so I'm not invested in learning her story.
If possible I tried to read a series in order, The 1st few books had some suspense on the "will they-won't they" between the MFC/MMC, But now that there's no doubt that the main characters will always be inexplicably drawn together because one or the other is a Raven or a Sinclair, I need more other drama to keep my interest-Something that was thin in this instalment of the series. I think if this was a stand alone I might feel differently. I really do like the writing and the premise.

sweet and fast
Rory is Max brother. Kate is wolfs sister. A Raven /Sinclair relationship. Then she saved his life. This book follows the patterns of the previous books and adds more to the legend. It enhances the knowledge of the family behaviors and experiences, focuses on the legend and requires a HEA for Rory and Kate. It is beneficial to enjoying this book to at least read the one before but reading this series in order is more fun and ramps up the enjoyment. I would have added a star if there was more depth to the story. The love is based on the legend and occurred instantly for both. I didn’t feel enough exposure to Rory true character.

Finding Love and Family
Another wonderful book by Wendy Vella. Kate felt this urgency before dawn to get to the beach. What she finds is a name tied up and shot. As she get him to higher grounds away from the incoming tied her family comes to help. What is a shock is Max recognizes him as his brother Rory.
Rory is shocked that this beautiful woman saved him and that his brother Max is there.
Rory is better, angry and thinks he doesn’t deserve love but with the help of his new found family and Kate can he believe. Such a beautiful read!

Seductive Danger is a great novella written by Wendy Vella. Her characters are absolutely amazing. I enjoyed the storyline, the special senses the family has, and the happily ever after. I haven't read a story by this author before but she definitely deserves another chance. A very interesting read in a different genre for me.

Less captivating than usual
I have read several books in this series (Sinclair and Raven). I have enjoyed them very much. I find this writer to be very imaginative; her stories are always fascinating and intriguing. I found this particular book to be less entertaining than the other books in this series. I didn’t like the main characters very much, there was less action than usual, the dialogue seemed repetitive and it seemed shorter than her other books. But it was still enjoyable, mostly due to the other family members, who I find thoroughly entertaining.

May 20, 2025Ok so this might be a spoiler if you hadn't read the previous books, from what I can remember, Max was sold by his mother at a young age, but Rory says its only been 10 years, Esi met Max like 9 years ago and he was already like a millionaire in those times, his book (Max and Esi) doesn't say he went back to his family after he killed his tormentor, and got away, I understood that he was on his own. Am I wrong? Is Max younger then Esi?

A short quick read
I liked this story but I think it could have been better had it been longer. There needed to be a bit more here and there to really flesh it out. Rory didn't tell enough of his story and he and Kate needed to have a few more conversations at least to make it more believable.

Everyone of age is paired up!
Lovely little novella that wraps up the loose ends of Max’s family and Wolf’s sister, Kate. Christmas celebrations and a wedding round out the excitement.

Delightful Christmas story
Always glad to meet a new Raven. The brothers history and conflicts were very real. The difference is how quickly they can be solved when there is a big loving family around them.

Wendy Vella continues the story of the Sinclairs and the Ravens with the story of Kate Sinclair and Rory Huntington. Kate saves Rory from a probably death and then tries to feel as if he is part of the Raven family. Because it is a novella, the characters and plot are not well developed.

I enjoyed the story but at this point in the series, everything is predictable. I love the family dynamic but now there are so many people that it almost needs a family tree to keep them all straight.

Loved this book!
I love Ms. Vella 's gift of story. The more I read of the Sinclair and Raven families I am more drawn in. I love when they venture back to the castle and become one big family. I am sad to be starting book 8 and the end of the series.Enjoy!

Surprising!
I liked Rory's and Kate's story. Somehow I found it very predictable which was extremely disappointing. The whole story needed more originality and Rory & Kate story suffer due to the lack of a new storyline. Disappointed!!!

This was an amazing story about Rory and Kate. Kate found Rory doWn by the edge of the ocean,. He had been shot, lying in the edge of the water , hands and feet tied with rope. It is a Raven and Sinclair story again. More excitement to come.
