This volume was so happy and so sad at the same time!!! I wanna cry!! ugh Himari and Aoi were so cute together my heart,,,but how that vol ended?? so cruel!

I really love the romance in this series and im dying to see how it ends next volume, I can't wait for it! I'm excited to re read it all afterwards too

At first I always considered this series as a Kamisama Kiss successor — but it has turned out to be a darker and much more melancholy manga. There’s no guarantee of a happy ending even with the final volume fast approaching. Even so, I think this is the best Aya Shouoto series for manga fans to try.

Wow this volume packed a punch! I am so interested to see how the next volume (the final one) will wrap up the series. All of the characters are going to be very interesting, and we will see how this concludes. I am hoping for a positive ending, but we won't know for sure until it is here.

On her 16th birthday, orphan Himari Momochi inherits the ancestral estate she’s never seen. Momochi House exists on the barrier between the human and spiritual realms, and Himari is meant to act as guardian between the two worlds. But on the day she moves in, she finds three handsome squatters already living in the house, and one seems to have already taken over her role!

We are beginning the end of The Demon Prince of Momochi House series. I’m sad to see it go as I’ve love the Aoi Nue dilemma. We’ve known for a while that Aoi is living on borrowed time... but it’s hard to look at what that means for everyone else’s life. One without Aoi in it.

I felt like the battle with Kasha was a little anti climatic. I normally love when the Nue appears as he’s my favorite but I felt like the mangaka didn’t have enough frames to give us a satisfying end to their sin battles. Himari learns something about herself that clues us in to the end. We also really get a clear idea of why Aoi is in this fix.

I love the art just as much now as I did in volume one. It’s the best in paper form and is a study in the balance between light and dark, the powerful and the innocent, the loving and the cold.

I can’t wait to pick up the final volume of The Demon Prince of Momochi House and end this fabulous series.

ANGRY ANGRY SCREAMING WHAT.
The art and plot were so incredibly amazing and I can't handle it.
The fact that there's one volume left has me crying... Ooof.

This is another series that has gripped me in. I will say that out of all of the volumes I have read, this one was a bit disappointing. There isn’t much that truly goes on besides more backstory for future events and the shocking ending. Honestly, I am not sure where this series is going to go but I still love the characters and the bonds that have been formed between each one. Honepfully with the next volume we will get more action and answers for what the heck is going on with the house and Aoi!

With this penultimate volume, we head into the final arc of the series. The Momochi house residents have had to face their pasts and 'ultimate sins' in Kasha's fire and all have emerged stronger and wiser for it. But there have been continual warnings that Aoi has seen the future and it is grim - and Himari will continue to fight and do everything she can to defeat that future.

Story: Kasha enveloped Nue/Aoi in his black flames, forcing them to see images of their ultimate sin. But Himari jumps in to protect Aoi - forcing her to also have a vision. She is puzzled to find that her ultimate sin is herself. As the crew is able to fend of Kasha in his own home, they return to Momochi House and a period of idyll. Aoi and Himari become closer and Aoi appears reconciled with being half ayakashi. But then time passes in a dream as the cherry blossoms bloom....

This novel is a transition from the close of the previous Kasha arc and into the next and final arc. The new arc has to do with Aoi having seen his future and making decisions without Himari based on what he saw. This involves not only Himari but Momochi House as well. We also get a better understanding of why Aoi was chosen as the Nue of Momochi House despite having no Momochi blood.

As always, the illustration work is superb: ethereal, gentle, and thoughtful. Shouoto has always been adept at including many breathtaking full-page panels in each chapter and that prowess is on show again here in this volume. There are as many hints as to the final arc plot in the art as in the words.

In all, although I am sad to see the series end, I can say that I have enjoyed every volume. I am greatly looking toward what the next volume brings for a finale. Reviewed from an advance reader copy provided by the publisher.

Re-Read Review (March 9th, 2023):

As one door shuts, another opens. It's hard not to be in awe at the foreshadowing sprinkled in the chapters leading up to the halfway point. What I've talked about before in my past reviews still holds up here in regards to humanity. The Demon Prince of Momochi House brings readers back to Aoi and Himari's relationship with this volume, though. Both characters contemplate different sides to their future as a couple. What starts as optimistic turns sour. Shouoto delves deeper into Aoi's psyche and his struggles to prioritize what's important to him and the Nue. We also get another look at Momochi House and its sinister side as an entity.

Top it all off with more pretty art (Shouoto really grew with this series, it's impressive), and I'd say we're reaching a satisfying and bittersweet (if my memory serves me well in one aspect) conclusion. Good news is I have Volume 16 on my desk!

More ominous events are proving to be/become challenging for Shouoto's characters. While we didn't get to know everything that got uncovered, I'm happy we got to see Aoi and Himari take a break and relax for a chapter before their relationship started to be on borrowed time. There was a lot of pretty art, as per usual, and I'm excited to see what will happen next. Will Kasha return? Will lives be lost? It'll be sad letting this series go, but I hope Shouoto ends it without sacrificing some of its charm.

Nel penultimo capitolo de “gli spiriti di casa Momochi”, Aoi si trova faccia a faccia con il suo Karma. Per la prima volta nella sua vita tutto gli è chiaro; chi è, perché è arrivato a casa momochi e persino cosa ne sarà di lui. La sua natura di metá umano è metá spirito gli permette ancora di stare con Himari, ma non ancora per molto. Aoi combatte contro Nue, Nue è Aoi ed ormai, anche Aoi è Nue. Entrambi combattono contro Kasha che è sempre più deciso nella sua malsana fantasia di convincere Nue a schierarsi dalla sua parte, a scegliere se stesso e la libertà che questo comporta. Niente barriere, niente case a contenerlo, niente regole, solo potere infinito: la perfezione assoluta, sopra ogni cosa. Himari è l’ostacolo, il ponte, il porto sicuro. Fin quando ci sarà Himari, Aoi tornerà sempre e con lui anche Nue. Qualcosa però cambia, si rompe; come un bellissimo Furin che perde la sua decorazione anche l’estate idilliaca di Himari volge al termine e così tutte le stagioni che la seguono. Ogni cosa perde il suo senso, ed il tempo diventa schiavo di se stesso. Himari si perde in un dolce sogno, cullata dall’amore di Aoi e di Nue, mentre qualcosa ai confini di questa visione, si lacera dall’interno. Il futuro per Himari è stare con Aoi, ma il futuro di Aoi è legato a quello di Nue e per loro due ci sono altri programmi.

Aoi is fighting the Nue because he doesn't want to become an ayakashi and have to give up Himari. But Himari is fighting her own battle with herself. And at the same time they're all fighting Kasha! I'm very confused...

But this is a romance, not a dark action story, so of course they come to a conclusion and finally beat Kasha through the power of love or something and go back home where Aoi and Himari are officially a couple now... But he's an ayakashi trapped in an ayakashi house, meaning Himari is constantly at risk of being 'spirited away' and from the reactions of her friends from school, that's exactly what happens. Then something else weird happens and the house 'eats' Aoi... What the heck is going on?! Seriously, it's like the story decided to take 10 hairpin turns all at high speed and I forgot to buckle up for this whiplash.

This series has 16 volumes.

I felt like, maybe, we were finding a path with this volume. There was an epic vattle that really resolved nothing, and then a wonderful day for the lovers, and Himari decides she's not going to college so she can stay at the house with Aoi, and then he disappears. And I'm thinking: okay, there'll be a few more volumes to resolve everything, cause it definitely feels like we're coming to an end, and then I read the back and there is only 1 more volume. Part of me is sad to see the series done, and part of me can't fathom how everything will be drawn to a close in the last volume. I knew it had to be ending soon, because of how random everything was, but I am skeptical that it will be done satisfactorily.

I... I can't even believe the next volume is the last one.

Aoi and Himari are acting strangely and the house seems to be reacting to the strangeness and how Aoi is continuing to grow in power.

Himari seems to be forgetting about things and Aoi finally tells her she needs to leave.

Aoi has said... goodbye...

This book has left me on such a cliffhanger!!! I can't wait until October 2nd!!!

Soft Aoi is on the cover. SOFT. AOI. IS. ON. THE. COVER.

You know as the second to last volume, that things are going down. The Shikigami Gang and Himari take down Kasha and are back to Momochi house. However, the truth of the house and Himari's connection are revealed in a way I didn't think and it was such a shocking and pleasant surprise. And man, did the emotions of EVERYONE MESS ME UP.

That last chapter made me get the eManga of volume 16 because I needed to know how it ended!

Here we are another volume down and yet another cliffhanger. But what is shojo without cliffhangers? This chapter was an interesting one. We end up with an unreliable narrative as we are figuring this out while Himari doesn't even notice something is wrong. I kept saying something is going on here but what? All to have it revealed and boom cliffhanger. Next volume is the last one and I have no idea how this is going to end.

Goodbye?

An emotional roller coaster, one second I'm hoping Aoi comes out as the champion of a battle. The next second I'm happy that all is back to, "normal," and that all of it comes full circle and that I'll get my happily ever after...until the last chapter. I swear Shouoto is just dangling the carrot in front of me and won't ever let me reach it, I'll read the last volume, I'm still wistfully awaiting my happily ever after.

Per me la storia si è dilungata troppo. Inoltre, trovo questo volume confusionario e gli ultimi eventi molto veloci. Ci sono tavole bellissime e per questo ho continuato a comprare i volumi, ma avrei potuto smettere di farlo già da un po', quando il racconto ha cominciato a non piacermi più di tanto.

Any actual thoughts I had about this book have left my mind because what I really want to know is: WHY IS THE FINAL VOLUME OF THIS SERIES THE ONLY ONE THAT IS NOT AVAILABLE ON OVERDRIVE? WHAT KIND OF EVIL MASTERMIND PLANNED THIS? This is a devastating blow after finally making it through the first FIFTEEN BOOKS OF THIS SIXTEEN BOOK SERIES, truly a tragedy.

Did a massive re-read/catch up with this entire series. Beautiful artwork and the story was just as good as I remember it (and it kept me up until 2 in the morning so that's always a good thing...)

The art of the battle at the beginning was rather nice, but it's still hard to keep track of what's happening, and the writing in this volume is some of the worst in the series. It feels like a lot of things happen off-screen and at random, so it's hard to care about anything in particular that's happening. It's still not the worst shoujo, but well...

This was confusing, but I could tell that they were in a dream-like world similar to how Hayato was in one. This was so sweet and sad!

The big bad fight has ended so we are dealing with what will happen to everyone. I am guess HEA after the cliff hanger, I wasn't sure before but it feels like that at this point. It is interesting what is happening, I didn't really foresee this and I am not sure I really truly understand why other than I will accept what I am being told.

Not sure if I like this series that much anymore, but I keep reading it cause I feel like it's getting close to the end and I want to complete it. Mostly I'm just extremely confused by what's going on with Himari and Aoi. Ever since the thing with Kasha happened I've been confused.

The series is really kinda dumb. If the library didn't have it and if it wasn't so near the end, I'd just drop it. But, my compulsion to complete series means I'll be reading the last and final volume once my library gets it no matter how silly this story has become.

Oh my god I'm not ready to read the last volume. That ending...Aoi no! Such a bittersweet and sad ending for Himwari! Their love for each other is so pure! And Aoi oh Aoi no don't do this!! There is no guarantee of a happy ending but I want you two to be together!!

I love this series but I did feel that this volume took me in a loop. The art is amazing which is why this is one of my favorite series. Next chapter is the end. I am hoping for a happy ending!
