probably the last of his regular cookbooks which were in the 2003-2008 period
Which were the first five he did
Flavor - Nov 2003 Rocco's Italian American - Nov 2004 Rocco's Five Minute Flavor - Dec 2005 Rocco's Real Life Recipes - Dec 2007 Rocco Gets Real - Oct 2008
he made his reputation with fancy stuff like
scallops topped with sea urchin, tomato, mustard oil and black mustard
or grilling meat over Japanese Binchotan white-oak charcoal which is smokeless and doesn't smell but has a lot of flavor for a lot of money
and he sold his soul for reality television and diet books and cookbooks with endless canned foods for a quick meal
This book has many yummy looking recipes but a lot of specific ingredients I’ve never seen in my grocery store. Not exactly your everyday fare though it seems to be more fancy expensive dishes.
His idea of home cooking is just not what I would expect to make on a daily basis for my family. I am sure this is a great book for culinary experts or people who live in a far more cultured environment than my midwest city.
Definitely won't be making these recipes 'at home, every day', but there are a couple recipes (actually, only 3) in here that I will bookmark and attempt to make on special occasions.
