I really like this series, and I'm a bit saddened that it will end in a way. Reading at the end, the author mentioned that he would maybe change things up a bit and would still focus on the main character of this series, but things would be very different. So in a sense, this book was the ending.
The beginning of the book was very good, a solid performance. However, the ending felt a bit rushed. It wasn't to horribly rushed or anything, but it felt that the author was like quickly moving things away to clear the board for a new scene. This worries me as I might not like what the author does or who he focuses on in the next maybe four or five books. Hopefully, he'll be able to pull it off, but I have my doubts.
Anyhow, I really enjoyed pretty mostly every word in this book. I always love books like these that I'm reading every word and not letting my mind wonder. Three things that stuck with me about this book was: I really liked the humor, I laughed and genuinely thought it was funny, and the second thing was that I liked the characters or friends of the main protagonist, they were characters that I didn't mind at all. I hate it when the main character is laughing with his friends and talking to them when I'm just thinking where they can go shove it, lastly, I'm glad that the protagonist did not happily blurt out his secret identity to everyone, it's irritating when that happens.
There's not really more to say about this book, and if there was, it wouldn't be such a good book. I guess I'm a bit conflicted, I want to keep reading this series, but I'm worried that the author will change things in not a good way or focus on someone I don't want to follow. In that way, I'm glad that this book had a finality that could help me just walk away. However, it still makes me sad that the book has ended and I have to wait. But I guess that is the so called essence of a good book.

2,5 stars this time around. Rounding up because I rounded down last time.
This book was seriously draggy at parts - in the beginning I'm already used to it due to book 2, but it doesn't usually happen again in the 70-95% part. Once it picks up steam, it'll stay this way. Not this time around though, bummer. The story and plot itself are good - just the execution tended to be quite descriptive at times, more telling instead of showing. I wasn't that fond of the writing style either, or the way some relevations are handled. While the book itself was even again quite serious, there were some lighter comedy scenes that did make me laugh out loud.
The reduced scenes with Football are more relevant to the plot and actually are used as a tool for the plot to function, not just existing for the MC. I'm quite happy about that, as it did bother me a lot in the first book of the series. Mini Spoiler though: I am curious about what will happen next, I've got a prediction that I hope will come true.
On to book four! Probably the last one I'll read of this series, unless it's getting a lot better!

Insanity!!! This book is so so good but crazy! I don't even know how author, Alan Janney, comes up with this stuff in his mind...crazy (a little sketchy) but cool! Loved it! Especially the romance portion of the book ;)

Not croc. I know I should not be this attached to this character. U went out of your way to make him expendable and I still caught feelings. Great work. Can't wait for more.

Great read

Great action book
I give the author 5 stars for yet another thrilling adventure. I can't wait to read about Chase's next adventure!

I'd almost give this 5 stars, but I'll get the technical of why I haven't out of the way; and then get into a hopefully non-spoiler review:
Technical glitches: There are a few paragraphs in here that keep this book from being pure perfection. Honestly? Janney needs better proofreaders before putting his work into the world. A few lines just skip, jumble, and tumble; and you wonder where you are because they make no sense. They become disjointed, disconnected, and for half a heartbeat, shake you away from what is otherwise golden writing. Due to that, I had to knock off a star.
The book itself: This is probably the ultimate "Adult" super hero book I've read to date. The first two in the series irritated me because they focused more on football, and less on the actual exploits of Chase/The Outlaw. This is the exact opposite; football is a hint of the book; and much of it has to do with the action, which adds a pulse that was missing in the previous 2 installments.
You'll also get to see some things from the perspective of Samantha. If you aren't caught up, I won't tell you why that's important, or why it is awesome; I will say it's a worthwhile addition. There are touches of romance here, which add flavor, without being overwhelming, they are a basic subplot the whole arch of the story. I'm kind of hoping other characters can get the same treatment in the future, without it becoming top-heavy.
So, if you can bear the first two books, which aren't terrible, but could have been slightly better; this book is worth the payoff, and hopefully this rolls into all the other sequels. This is Janney moving into his peak as a writer, and it's phenomenal to witness.
