I know technically Ilima showed up in the last volume and I said nothing about him, but I really do love him. He just seems so chill.

Anyway, we get to see a bit more about what makes Hau tick as he discusses joining the meeting with Team Skull to help alleviate some of his grandpa's stress about his hand in training Guzma.

Sun does some political explaining to Mimikyu, and ends up scoring the picture and a new friend.

The trial captains + Hau show up at Team Skull's door step and that goes about as well as you can imagine.

Then, Sina and Dexio make a proposition Sun can't refuse. Everyone's so eager to line Sun's pockets. Frick! This kid's almost got a million already! I'm sure it translates more to yen than American dollars, but even so! It just seemed weird to me that Sina and Dexio are pawning off their work now. I get that for the plot Zygarde needs to be transferred to Sun, but if we're looking at character motivations, why?

Sun, Moon, and Gladion join the fight at Po Town and things just go from bad to worse. Gladion explains his mother's true intentions, and the entire Alola region becomes overrun with Ultra Beasts.

In the closing pages, we finally get to find out why Sun needs a million dollars so bad. The Aether Foundation took the island from his great grandfather and he's doing all he can to buy it back from them. Poor Sun, I feel like we all know where this is going. They've already built up quite a bit over there.

Sun and Moon are definitely moving around, and Skull has made some poor choices. And it all makes me want to go back to Hawaii.
