I've only got one more year at Griffin Academy, but it's a little hard to focus on school after the bomb that was dropped on my personal life.
On top of that, whoever has been targeting Unpredictables is only stepping up their game.
If we don't find out who it is and stop them, there'll be no academy left.
No pressure though, right?
Hunt is the fifth book in the Academy of Unpredictable Magic series, a medium-burn reverse harem story intended for ages 18+, featuring a badass chick and the four sexy men who fall in love with her.
This book was provided by the author in exchange for an honest review. Thank you Sadie Moss!
Hunt is the fifth book in the Academy of Unpredictable Magic series and continues the story of Elliot and her four men.
Hunt was just like every other book in the Academy of Unpredictable Magic series: AMAZING! I just really love this Paranormal Romance series so much! I think it’s my favourite series by Sadie Moss so far! Hunt was such a fast paced read, I finished it in one day.
Another book in the series, another problem for Elliot. In every book she deals with a few problems such as the chance of closing down the Unpredictables’ school, a demon bird, someone who wants to kill her, … In this book, Elliot and her four men are trying to find out who’s behind all of this. Besides the action, there’s still some romance in this book: the first foursome scene in the series. And let me tell you, it was HOT!
Hunt was such a good book and I’m kind of sad that the next book, Clash, will be the last one in the series. I really love Elliot and her four men, so it’s going to be hard to say goodbye to them!
Now that’s more like it. So happy the Dmitri issue didn’t get dragged out, that would’ve been a drop. Not much academy in this one. Action, sex and a desperate countdown. I’m looking forward to reading the last one and finding out what happens.
Hunt by Sadie Moss is a medium-burn paranormal academy reverse harem romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Sarah Puckett. This is the fifth book in the Academy of Unpredictable Magic series.
I absolutely love this series! Sadie does an amazing job pulling me into the story. I can't help but binge each book in one sitting. I love the relationship between Elliot, Cam, Asher, Roman, and Dimitri.
The book ends on a great cliffhanger. I can't wait to dive into the next and final book in the series Clash.
Sarah did an amazing job on the narration! I love that she uses different voices/tones for each character. She really knows how to bring a story to life.
I would recommend this book to anyone who loves paranormal romances, academy romances, or reverse harems.
Book: Academy of unpredictable Magic Book 5 Hunt Author: Sadie Moss Recommend: Yes Spice: 🌶️ 🌶️ Age recommendation: 16-30+ Years
Plot: After the 3rd year has finished for the boys, they all stay at Romans house, while Romand and Elliot head back to school for the last year of study. The boys try to get jobs but find no-one wants to Hird unpredictables. After Elliot arrives at the school they find the government has closed the school down and sends them all to a holding place. Elliot is given 7 days to find the person responsible for all the trouble they have been having at the school, she enlists the 4 men in her Harem to help her. They find out he has the power to take others magic and kill them in the process. He manages to get away, but when they return to the holding place, the people who were guarding them are all frozen. The man takes over the who government leaving everyone to fight to stay alive.
My feelings:
“Welp, I guess that means Roman has to be our sugar daddy now.” Cam leans forward in his seat and bats his eyelashes exaggeratedly at Roman in the rearview mirror. “Right?” “Sure thing, snookums,” Roman says, deadpan.
Soooooooooo as we all know I love Sadie Moss, and I love all her books. They are very young adult based but I usually don’t mind. I Loved the first 4 books in this series but now im finding it to drag a bit as we get to the finish line. I think if it had been done in 4 or5 books it wouldn’t feel like its taking so long.
This book I felt like a drag unfortunately, so im hoping the last book of the series will pick up for me. I still love the men in this book, they are work so well together and the harem is well established, the spicy chapters are very good now that there is more then one involved as well.
Hunt takes place a few months after the previous book ended, the gang is all together for now until school starts. But when Elliot is at school and they start to try to shut it down she must do whatever she can to find the person who is doing this and put a stop to it. That may end up being a lot more dangerous than she originally thought.
This book was interesting, and I liked it, but it wasn't as good as previous books. And I was annoyed with what happened in the end. Other than that, I liked it and I'm glad Elliot is getting her guys.
We learn so much in this book. Elliot heads back to school with out 3 of her men. Things go smoothly for a few days until they are forced to close down the school. I don't want to give anything away.. well I guess I told you guys about the school but that happens very early so I don't feel bad about that. We finally get to see Elliot and her guys outside of the school. We have seen them for a short amount of time but since this book happens after the school is shut down we get almost the whole book without classes! And I loved it. I loved seeing them work together and fight for the right thing.
I’m all about badass female characters, but that doesn’t mean she has to constantly be sarcastic and talk about how badass she is. And for 24, she acts pretty childish. I have one book left so I can’t quit now.
Wow, This One Is Stressful, Full Of Suspense & Fear With Loving Moments For Our Main Characters!!😱😍🔥💥 (Read using Kindle Unlimited) Hunt (Academy of Unpredictable Magic Book 5)
Elliot & her four boyfriends are falling more deeply in love. Their steamy scenes become more adventurous 😉🔥💘🔥Heart breakingly, Dimitri is due marry a woman his Parent's 'promised' him to as a toddler!!😡 She's being forced into the arranged marriage too, by her own controlling, powerful & ultra rich Parents!😢😡
This is a nail biting & tense read. I was completely engrossed in all of the shocks & revelations that were drip fed to us so cleverly!!😳⚡I'm moving straight on to the final Book 'Clash' #6, which I'm sure is going to be explosive!!💥🙏🌟
This is the prime example why it it's so difficult for me to like academy books. I get Moss is a huge fan of Harry Potter, but, at this point, she's borderline plagiarizing. I can't finish the series. It started out good, then we had the demon bird twist that was pretty awesome, and now we have a girl demanding to name her own team to face down big bad as her peers are held captive by the government putting the blame elsewhere. The plot has taken a dive. It's not horribly written. It's put together decently, but it's too ridiculous of a scenario based on Elliot's experiences.
Elliot and her magical guys are back for book five of this paranormal reverse harem series (must be read in order). Book five brings even more heat and has great action as it builds to the final book. I’m definitely curious about how things are going to wrap up in the series. There isn’t as much “academy” in this one as some of the others but it makes sense for the story and I like the uniqueness of the situation. As usual, the writing flows and is well-edited so you can breeze right through. 3.5 ⭐️
Wow it was so worth the wait for this book but man I need the next one asap. This series sucked me in from book one and I can't wait to read the final book. Well I want to know what happens anyway and to be honest I'm not ready for it to be over. This is one of the best paranormal RH books series I have ever read. I love all the guys like no other and Ellie is one amazing chick! She's tough as nails and is so strong willed. Hurry up book 6!
This read more like an interlude to a main event. While the action was there, it dragged out like it was just filling space. You do find out who the master mind behind all the attacks is and that they are powerful. Beyond that, hope the last book book is as good as the first ones.
SYNOPSIS (of all 6 Books): This series is set in a world where there are witches but the humans do not know about them. The FC (Elliott) has been supporting her younger sister since their mother died and their father deserted them. She discovers that she has “unpredictable magic” which means she must go to an academy to learn how to control it. In the magic world unpredictable magic is looked down on as some kind of abomination and those with it are treated as lesser. Whilst each Book has its own specific sub-story the main story arc covers all 5 books and relates to an attack on predicable magic and those that practice it. There are obligatory mean girls and ultimately a HEA.
The books are well written and the editing is not bad although there are a few errors but not enough to really impact the readers enjoyment. For me, however, I found the story to be lacking in originality - FC who thought she had no magic but does, turns out to be an amazing witch and saves the world while having an adoring harem that follows her around like puppies. I could live with that as very few of this kind of book are original if the series was well written or had depth. I found this series to be lacking both.
Each book (until Book 5 with the climax) seems to follow the same pattern. There is some kind of mystery, the FC is the only one who can solve it and save the day and she does. This is despite the fact that there are stronger witches around. Apparently the FC is the only one clever enough and strong enough to be the hero. This is despite the fact that the FC’s powers are not particularly strong (until the end) or that she knows how to use them. The MCs are more for window dressing that actual action.
There are the required mean girls but the story line for them makes little sense. Why they suddenly decide to pick on Elliott is lame to begin with but why they then, despite Elliott having nothing to do with them, continue to harass her makes no sense. It’s as if the author decided that this element was required to add drama but it doesn’t’ as it has no real context or rationale to it.
There are disjoints in the story, like the mean girls, where things are introduced seemingly just to add drama but again, with no real context and are then dropped. By example, the FC’s father ran out on them when she was young. He suddenly pops up in Book 4. The FC, who is supposed to be strong and kick ass says nothing about his prior behaviour or anything. She just sucks it up, hugs him and says nothing. That goes completely against her character. Other than this meeting there is only one other very brief meeting with the FC’ father. He plays no real role and it makes you question why he was even introduced into the story. There’s no explanation as to why he ran out on his family or what he has been doing or anything. Another drama tactic was the whole engagement/wedding storyline which seems to have been introduced just to provide a cliffhanger. It comes out of nowhere and then just disappears. Again, not integral to the story just a mechanism to try and introduce drama.
The background for Roman makes little sense as well except as a lame attempt to show Roman as “damaged” and “angsty”. Whilst you can understand an accident where one of his family die it is hard to construct a situation where they all stand around and wait for him to touch them and drain them. The author doesn’t bother to explain how this is supposed to have happened or why Roman was not locked up as a consequence.
There’s a decent amount of heat in the sex scenes and they are not too plentiful. The main problem for me was the lack of world and character building and the superficiality of the plot. It could have been better.
Hunt Academy of Unpredictable Magic, Book 5 By: Sadie Moss Narrated by: Sarah Puckett
Sadie Moss continues to bring it, she has me addicted to this awesome series and I can not get enough of it. I love that she has been keeping up with the momentum and continues to build up on the fascinating storylines in the wonderful and imaginative world she created with equally imaginative characters. I adore the lead characters, Elliot is the heroine and guys the hero, they make one kick@ss team and one hot reverse harem. I love where their relationship is going and how tight their bonds are getting I also loved what Dmitri did at the start of the book and how he handled his parents. Elliot is off on her own for her third year at Griffen Academy, her guys graduated last semester, at least she still gets to see Roman who teaches at the academy. But when public opinion swayed more against the unpredictables the Circuit Members come and close the school and out them in limbo. Are they doomed or will Elliot find who has it out for the Unpredictables, they’ve deduced that all the attacks made on them stemmed from one person. This is another cleverly plotted book with plenty of drama, action, angst, mystery, thrilling suspense and some hot romance. Thank you for another awesome story, I am looking forward to what comes next.
I listened to the Audible edition, Sarah Puckett was perfectly casted to bring this book to life, she is an amazingly talented narrator and and an entertaining storyteller. She portrays the characters perfectly, truly grasping their persona, capturing all their emotions as well as their passion which is heard in her wonderful performance. It is always a pleasure to listen to her work. Thank you for another awesome listen🎧

Holy moly, so much action and steam!! And powers galore ❤️
Wow, book 5 really brought on the action and heat! This book was definitely my favorite, it kept me on the edge of my seat/on my toes for a lot of it. We get to see the horrible treatment of the unpredictables, being treated as second class citizens in the magical community. We get to see Elliott step-up again and take on the bad guy with the help of her men. She goes on the hunt for the person responsible for all of this happening. I love how everything comes together, the clues, everything. I loved how vulnerable Elliott is and ooooh man the hotel scene was amazing!!!! So much 🔥🔥🔥🔥. The end battle is pretty freakin epic, I couldn't get enough of it. Loooooved this book so much ❤️ Don't want the series to end 😭.
Narration was killer with the hotel scene and during the battle at the end. I could imagine when they were in the bar when Asher was using his gifts while they are all on the hunt. Sarah's inflections were perfectly timed and really brought these characters to life even more than they have already.
Things I really appreciated about this book: the hotel scene 🤤😏 honestly the saving grace of this book, and something I have been waiting for since book 1 tbh I also really appreciated that this book seemed to happen over the course of like a week?? That’s wild considering all the other books take an entire semester, and in this one, they’re just going through everything really quickly.
Let’s get into the not so good. The villain. He is finally introduced and we learn who he is and his intentions. There’s something about the villain being a complete mystery, a character we’ve never met before, and he is not introduced until the second to last book. Sure, his motives make sense, but there seemed to be no build to him at all, like he just sort of appeared. The author clearly did not plan for the ending when writing the other books, because I am sure there would have been some sort of connection to the rest of the story. It seems a bit lackluster. I’m still waiting for a big plot twist connecting everything together, and maybe even to Elliot’s father. Still, curious to see the next part, but I’m also super stressed.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
This one is the beginning of the end. They are on the hunt for the person(s) behind all that has happened. An Unpredictable hater. There is a lot that happens in this book. Elliott is starting her final year. She is placed int he girls dormitory. They boys are looking for post graduation jobs. But once the school gets hi-jacked and everyone is placed at a holding facility things start getting scary. What happens when they locate the person behind all this? Are these five strong enough to withstand what will be thrown at them?
Another wonderful addition to this series. I look forward to the final. I did listen to this on audio. Sarah Puckett does a super job at narration of this crazy characters.
5 stars for Hunt by Sadie Moss. This is book 5 in the Academy of Unpredictable Magic series. “If you wait until you’re ready to do something, you’ll never do it.” This book takes place outside of the school, which I think took the book to a whole new level. We are getting deeper into who is causing all of this. Elliot and her guys are standing up for Unpredictables everywhere. Elliot has somehow become the face of Unpredictables’. They all want to change how they are viewed. I feel like the series is taking a more serious turn. I am also glad book 6 is out because I would drive myself crazy wanting to know how it all ends. Starting Clash now.
WOW!!! I was pulled in from the beginning! Fabulous paranormal/fantasy world, I absolutely love this series of books, the action starts slowly and builds, The characters are well defined early on and blossom throughout the series, you can feel the tension building between the main characters early in the series which develop wonderfully as each book progresses. Very well written storey. There are no cliff hangers as such but each book always leaves you wanting more so be warned though once you start reading this series you won’t be able to put the books down so be prepared for some binge reading.
this was very interesting and enticing! it answered a bunch of questions, made me ask a few more, and set up a VERY intriguing final book!
i don’t have much else to say other than i’m slightly disappointed in who the villain ended up being. mainly because it wasn’t anyone that i guessed, but still. their motivation just isn’t all that interesting and i thought we were gonna get a big reveal, but to no avail. oh well i guess but that part really did fall flat for me as i was so excited about who it was gonna end up being 🤷🏻♀️
very excited to see how this whole overall story ends tho!!
(plus we finally had an orgy scene!! yayyyyy!! 😁😌)
Dammit, I thought this was the last book in this absolutely horribly written series, and it isn't. I don't have enough eye roll emojis for this one. The "guys" are secondary characters that you just can't care about and the FMC (first person) is the most annoying and repetitive thinking person I have ever come across. Seriously, if she has a thought once she has it 732 times in the same book, and this whole thing is written as a stream of her consciousness. I haven't felt compelled to write a review in a while, but these books are simultaneously too long and too short. The whole series could have been over in 3, not 6 books.
