DNF at 53% LONG RANT!
I don't care how hot the hero is, how much I love time traveling and historical romances (how pretty those covers are😭), him fcking the ow, getting her pregnant, marrying her, and the heroine having to suffer through it (IN THE SECOND BOOK), ruined the story, the romance, the characters and straight pissed me off to the max. That was the stupidest sub plot, or plot, or whatever, and was super unnecessary.
Its starts off as the heroine is trying to save herself from her captors, and is being beaten, almost raped, and almost died. The hero thinks she did die, proceeds to gets drunk, mistakes the ow as the heroine because he is so drunk, sleeps with her (this is only after 3 months the heroine has been gone too), finds out he got the ow preggo, then marries her and moves her in (not even 100% the child is his). When heroine finally escapes and heals and is able to come back, she comes back with the hero married, and the ow about 7ish months pregnant.
Heroine is betrayed (who wouldn't be?) Seeing as right before she disappeared, the hero and her were supposed to be married and so in love and blah, just for her to be put through hell trying to get back to him, and him essentially going on living with someone else. I don't care that he doesn't love the ow, or hasn't slept with her since that night, or how depressed he was, he still fully betrayed the heroine and her memory.
And to make it even WORSE, he's always taking the ow's side even when the ow is a bitch to the heroine, holds her hand, calls the ow his wife all the time throwing it in the heroine's face essentially, puts the wife above the heroine (literally until the very last minute of the marriage, whatever the ow says, he will follow and do), sleeps in the same room as the ow, has the GALL to show jealousy or possessiveness when the heroine shows the slightest interest in another man (as if he didn't fck and marry someone else). He knows how petty and manipulative the ow is, so him marrying her in the first place already shows how much he's an idiot, but then putting her above the love of his life, just goes to show he never truly loved the heroine. Him complaining to the heroine he wasn't in the right head space, he wasn't happy, all of his "groveling" was sh*t, and he does not deserve forgiveness just for complaining about what HE went through. He needs to actually SHOW it, which IMO, he NEVER does. What about what SHE went through?!
More crap happens (I was already boiling at this point). The hero wants the heroine to stay as she keeps saying she's gonna leave (LEAVE already!!), in which she proceeds to have to watch over the preggo ow and then have the baby. The hero and his stupid sister completely disregards the heroine's feelings by having her care for the baby (literally right after she is born), and wait on Yvette, and the heroine does, like how screwed up is that?? The heroine finds out the sister told the ow that-wait for it... The heroine can't get pregnant!! *Flashbacks of Queen Move popping up* So the sister knowing how the ow is, tells her that to supposedly get the ow to feel sympathy, even though she had no right to. And not only that, but this entire book, she tries to get the heroine to stay knowing how painful it is, using the excuse they need her and crap, and I definitely hate the sister by now and her selfishness.
Furthermore, the heroine who is basically the mom to the baby now, takes care of the baby more than the ow, is the one to notice her sick and starts being more affectionate and softening towards the hero because of what he is going through 🙄, they go to the hospital together, but when the ow wants to go instead for once, he tells the heroine to stay home as if she isn't replacement mother. The hero and ow proceed to fight for a couple nights essentially because the ow isn't a good person (obviously), in which the heroine overhears, then the ow ends up leaving and leaving the baby. The hero apologizes once and they have sex like a day later (while he's still married🤷). I gave up the book when they then nonchalantly talk about how he needs to get an annulment, as if the heroine didn't just go through all she did.
I just don't care what happens for the rest of the book at this point, their romance is ruined for me🤷 if they had sex and got back together at that point, after all the OW crap and the hero putting the OW above her and this going on for half the book, I can't imagine there will be much real groveling, and I don't care to find out. The heroine should have fcked someone else or should have been able to have a baby with someone else to get back at the hero, instead of her suffering nonstop through the entire book. So disappointing for me too because I was pretty excited to read this duet until I found out what happened in this book, I should have known though because of what this author usually writes and how she likes OW/OM drama🤷 wait to ruin a book though 👏
P.S. just to be clear, I will probably finish the rest later when I calm down🙃 and it's only to find out how Quinn came to be, and if that whole situation is true and Sarah and Henri are her real parents, meaning Sarah was able to have a child, and this may sound heartless, but then he did end up suffering seeing as he was never able to meet his own kid🤷 we'll see tho if it changes

My. Heart. Is. Broken.
Or rather, Elizabeth broke my heart a million times over in this book and then sewed it back together so well that I sobbed.
Yes, you read that right. I started Across Eternity last night at 9:30pm. I finished at 4am on the dot. And while my fiancee was snoring beside me, I was bawling my eyes out like a newborn baby.
This book, y'all. This book.
It's perfection. It's raw. It's gut-wrenching and uplifting and full of hope and love with a sprinkle of WTF-ery. Because HOW Elizabeth spun this plot is beyond my wildest imagination.
There comes a time when an author reads a book, they enjoy it, and then they walk away. And then there's this book which left me feeling inadequate as a storyteller. A sham author of words. Because, holy cow, Elizabeth slayed Henri & Sarah's love story in such a way that, hours later--and after a good six hours' worth of sleep--I am still in 1941, still back in France, still praying and hoping with everything that I am that Henri & Sarah will get their HEA.
If there is nothing else you read this month, this year, it needs to be this duet. Last year, Elizabeth stole my Top 3 spots for my Top 10 reads, and Across Eternity is no different.
I am in love. I'm addicted. I'm riding the high from this book, like an addiction I have no hope of quitting. Across Eternity is my favorite read of 2020. Big steps to fill when we're still in March, but there you have it.

Hands down, one of the best books I've read so far this year. An epic conclusion to an phenomenal duet. Across Eternity is one of my most anticipated for 2020... I absolutely loved Across Time and I couldn't wait to read the conclusion to Henri and Amelie's story (especially after that cliffhanger) and it was so much MORE than I expected.
It was mind blowing the way in which this story was told. Elizabeth O’Roark extraordinary ability to weave time traveling through past, present and future into this storyline, was done to perfection and with excellent precision. How she spun this plot is beyond my wildest imagination. I was on the edge of my seat throughout the entire book, wow, did this book emotionally wreck me. I felt every gamut of emotions these characters went through. The emotional pain, suffering, grief, betrayal and the ultimate forgiveness that Sarah and Henri experienced was beyond belief.
This story is unlike anything I’ve ever read. It’s unique and mesmerising and it’s truly in a class of its own. If there is any book to read this year, it’s this one. Extraordinary and ultimately unforgettable.

I JUST WANT TO FORGET THIS WHOLE SERIES. WORST BOOK OF 2020.

It has been approximately seventy-two hours since I finished this book and every time I think about it, I get more upset.

I can understand all the 5 star reviews. This book was a real page turner. But what started out as a 5 star book... slowly dwindled for me.
I just felt utter disappointment with the direction this book went between Henri and Sarah. My stomach in knots because of what Sarah had to put up with for the sake of others... their future depended on it.
The whole time I was reading I felt every day Sarah was sacrificing her life for others. Putting the need of others before herself. It was very hard to read and aggravating.
43% in and I still wasn’t feeling any better. I felt the story was dragging. A lot of things were happening but not enough answers were being said. Just more of Sarah having to endure a lot everyday.
Henri I felt made a mistake... but a unforgivable one. Sarah went through hell to get back to Henri. It just didn’t seem right. I can’t overlook all that. And I had a hard time with Marie. I don’t want to say a lot. But, she was very selfish. That’s all I’m going to say about her.
65% in. The book is still interesting but it’s still dragging. All the secrets are adding up. But, nothing is being said. So it’s just chapter after chapter of the same things. I mean.... I get you want to build up the suspense. But you need to drop bigger answers to keep you going . And at this point 65% we are already going past the halfway point. We should have more answers by now.
75% in and I feel this book is more about survival then a love story. Sarah has to deal with being captured in the beginning and now she has to stay alive with Germans Everywhere. It was kinda exhausting reading what she had to go through.
95% in and the riddles of things being said is what’s getting to me. The no answers to anything! I just can’t anymore. By now... we should know more things. And it doesn’t feel complete.
As we get closer to the end. I feel like it was all too rushed. All the answers you wanted just thrown at you all at once. I wasn’t feeling that. Yes, I wanted answers. But to have everything revealed literally all at the very end just wasn’t right to me. It all seemed too rushed.
You definitely need to read these book in order. To fully get what’s going on with all these characters.

I’m kinda sad. I was so looking forward to reading this book. All 3 books before this one were 5 star reads for me. This one I felt lost it’s way a bit. It got too carried away with the war and other things. (Don’t want to give it away.) To much was going on for me and not enough focus on sarah and Henri without all the drama. But I’m glad I read it and have most of the answers to it all. I’m sure more books are to come. Because even though we have a lot of the answers. We are still left with a lot of questions. So we will see.

Cant stand books with beta hero’s who part another woman carry their balls, while everyone treated the actual heroine like crap. The cheating wasn’t justified and using the “heroine can’t get pregnant and now had to care for the hero’s bastard child after he cheated” plot device is just lazy writing.

I am emotionally spent. I loved this book so much and it is definitely going to be in my top reads of 2020. I especially loved amelie’s growth as a person; she really aggravated me in the first book with her always defending her “fiancé.”
amelie and henri were such an amazing couple and I really felt for amelie when she returned to the 1930’s after everything she went through in 1918. it just about killed me but when henri got on his knees and begged for forgiveness.. ugh it was too good!!
now marie’s character really bothered me in both stories. I felt like she was very selfish, especially leaving amelie with the children to be with her priest, but i’m glad there will be a newsletter story about them and hopefully I will understand her more.
I also really appreciated how this duet really ties in with “parallel” and “intersect.” and finally I loved the ending!! ugh amelie and henri together on the island from his mother’s story.. swoon. I really really hope there is going to be more books in this world! 5+++++ stars

Wow!
Wow! What a conclusion. This was one hell of an emotional rollercoaster for me. Unputdownable!!! After reading Intersect, I wasn’t surprised with the ending but I was left more than satisfied with the outcome. Sarah and Henri went through so much (a certain aspect devastated me); honestly, there was so much angst and fiery banter. I wasn’t sure, how they could recover. I thought the author did a phenomenal job. She broke my heart but succeeded in putting it back together again. Sarah and Henri will undoubtedly be my favourite fictional couple of 2020💘. My only issue was the beginning: Coron’s involvement. The reader is never actually acquainted with his character. He’s responsible for so much suffering yet we only get a glimpse of his involvement through third parties. We never discover his origins or how certain associations of his are formed. What happens to him? Is he still a threat? However, perhaps this will be explored in a future instalment. I’m excited for the twins tale. Nevertheless, an epic adventure, one where my heart was in my mouth for the most part. Sarah proved to be one kick-ass heroine. I highly recommend this duology but I think to truly appreciate it, you have to read Parallel / Intersect first.

“Wherever the other side is, I’ll be waiting for you there.” oh boy was i right when i said this book would make me a sobbing mess. The story from book 1 (Across Time) Continues. First of all, the first 150 pages or so were painful to read. I hated the subplot so much. Like what was that? But then again, it all made sense that it had to happen that way. For a moment there, the Hero was ruined in my eyes and i couldn't seem to believe in their love anymore. But when it all made sense, and the story went on — I fell inlove with his character once again. And the love that Sarah and Henri have for each other. I am so heartbroken for what they had to endure. This book took a darker turn and was heavier on the heart but I loved it. At the start, I thought I was going to end up hating it because of the subplot but with the beautiful writing and the events that occurred in the book, it was impossible to do so. I loved Cecelia's character so much and i sobbed a lot when it all made sense why she was there for Sarah all along. I am so heartbroken over Poor Charlotte too. And of course, over Henri. Everything is just so bittersweet. For the last few chapters, the author had me sobbing my heart out. It was such an emotional ride. While the first book was lighter, this conclusion was gut wrenching. The author needs to pay for putting me through this. She really had me falling inlove with the characters with the first book and broke my heart with this book. It was so bittersweet and I don't know how to feel about the ending! I kind of loved it but i somehow still feel very, very sad because they deserved better. Overall, This was beautifully written and a page turner historical romance book with interesting and well fleshed out characters. I'd recommend this duology if you wanted to break your heart in the span of two days.

The first 50% of this book belongs in the TRASH. I loved this couple in the last book so everything that went down made me want to set both them and myself on fire. I was so mad at Henri for what he did, but even more so, I was mad at him for how he handled things after. He didn't try to explain, to talk to Amelie, to beg her forgiveness. He called this new woman his 'wife' to her face, and just became this morose bum who was practically subservient to a petulant bully. He lost all qualities that made him attractive in the last book and tbh, I wanted Amelie to leave. I get that in order for the story to continue she couldn't, because if she left his time he wouldn't be able to follow her or try to win her back and so they'd quite literally never see each other again, but she was just this awkward third wheel in his time and there was no point to her staying there playing house.
After all that ugliness passes, the one good thing that came from this was Amelie's character development. She became pretty savage and bloodlusty and I was digging it. I hated the times they were separated by the war bc they were boring to read, and I have to say for two people on the run from Nazi's, they had an exorbitant amount of sex! Like shit, seize the day and all but also stay alive! Priorities!
All in all this book pissed me off but I still liked them as a couple once they worked through their baggage. I rly want Millie and Luna's books now. Well, mostly just Millie's. Time traveling is such a cool concept and I feel like there's a lot more the author could explore with it.

Across Eternity is one of my most anticipated for 2020... I couldn't wait to read the conclusion to Henri and Amelie's story and it was so much MORE than I expected. I am blown away by O'Roark's talent and writing.
Across Eternity takes on Henri and Amelie's journey as they try to find their way back to one another through a time of war, all the while trying to protect their loved ones and learning what the prophecy means to them.
I'll be honest that I had such high anxiety and my stomach was in knots for basically the entire read... I was heartbroken and sad, I was sitting on the edge of my seat fearful of turning the page and finding out what would happen but also anxious to know what would become of these characters I have come to love so much. And while there was some tears, I also felt that hope that love would overcome and that everything that was meant to be would happen.
Across Time is a reminder to live life to the fullest, to be appreciative of family and loved ones and the things that are most dear to you and to remember that time is fleeting... you can't control or change your future but you can love your life and be grateful for all the things in it.
I am in awe of this author and I am especially in love with this series... I hope with my heart that there will be more. <3

I could not put this book down. I thought the first book in the duet was fantastic, this one, even more so. I've been waiting for this book since last fall, and it picked up right where it left off. This duet's plot was not only unique, but the level of research that had to be done was immense, especially with the multiple times in history.
This book emotionally wrecked me, I was on the edge of my seat throughout the entire book. The emotional pain, suffering, grief, betrayal and forgiveness that Sarah and Henri experienced was insurmountable.
There are a few lingering questions I have, and at no fault to the author, I might have just missed them when I was reading, since I was reading so fast. This of course just made me want to pick up the book for an immediate reread to see if I can find any clues I missed. I read it in one evening - stayed up past my bedtime. The ending of this book was perfect; though I had tears freely flowing for the last few chapters. One of the best books I've read so far this year, hands down. Cannot wait to read anything else produced by this author.

An amazing and extraordinary closure to what has to be one of the very best duets (along with the Parallel Duet that has ties here) that I've ever read. The author is brilliant every step of the way in how she plotted this story. It's simply epic in the way she moves readers from 1989 back to 1939 and then further back to 1918 and then forward until we find ourselves in 1991 to 1995. The finale -- well, I'm not sure where we finally end up (and I wouldn't tell anyway), but trust me, it's simply beautiful and left me completely and totally satisfied and happy.

Dnfish. WHAT A HORRIBLE WAY TO END AN AMAZING SERIES!! WHY!?!? I just couldn’t continue reading this bullshit, so i read reviews with spoilers hopping it got better, it did not.
Sarah suffred so much and Henri didn't, Marie became more of an annoying bitch and everything was trash. I really liked the first 3 books, so sad this is what we got. I just wanted Sarah to leave Henri and find someone who actually appriciates her.
Ps. Nick would never in a million years put Quinn in a situation like this one, we love you Nick.
UPDATE: I skimmed the last 40%, it was better than the first 60% but i still think the first part is trash :)

4 stars, and wow, what a rollercoaster!
The thrilling conclusion to Across Time, this is a breath-taking read full of twists and turns that had my heart pounding from start to finish. Angst, drama, heartache and hope, and at the centre of it all is an incredible love story as Sarah and Henri’s heartwrenching story comes to its exciting finish.
This book picks up right where the first one picks up. I went back and reread the last few chapters of the last book, and I’m so glad I did because we are thrown right back into the action, and the story moves at a really fast pace. There is so much happening, and I couldn’t put my kindle down, reading into the early hours.
I won’t spoil anything, but OMG, this book was not what I was expecting. I raged and I cried and I raged and cried some more. The war is here, hardship is coming from all angles and nothing will be the same again. But in the midst of all of the drama, OMG, did I swoon! The love story is just gorgeous, and Henri absolutely stole my heart.
But at the heart of the story is the mysterious prophesy around Sarah/Amelie and the rest of the time travellers. A lot of questions are answered, but to be honest, I’m still really confused about a lot of it. I never got a really good handle on how the time travelling thing works, and trying to make sense of it did my head in so I eventually just gave up and read on without thinking about it too hard.
The ending took me by surprise and honestly, I’m really not sure how I feel about it. I’m still trying to process it all. But it does provide a good lead in to the Parallel Duet which was actually published before this one, but fits after it in terms of timeline and ties in very closely.
It's an emotional rollercoaster that I both loved and hated at different times. My feelings are still all over the place, and though I still have questions, I loved Sarah and Henri’s story, which is beautifully written and full of emotion.

What the . . . I don’t . . . I can’t. . . What the ever loving hades did I just read?!! I’m dumbfounded and stunned speechless. Whatever I could have possibly anticipated in the second half of Henri and Sarah’s story, it was. Not. THIS! The only thing I’m certain of right now is the pins and needles I’m still on, even after finishing the book. The adrenaline crash will be mighty with this one.
I’m not even going to try to give you a synopsis, but here's what you need to know. It's a time travel paranormal, with a mostly historical, wartime setting. And nobody does it better than O'Roark. The struggle of right and wrong, and good versus evil, is a strong element throughout. It's heartbreaking and uplifting. It's intense and terrifying but profound and inspiring. It’s harrowing and hopeful. And it unquestionably goes on my list of top five reads for the year.
The only thing I missed is having an epilogue. Henri and Sarah struggled and fought and sacrificed so much, and after all they suffered, I would have loved a little more with them after they finally got their happily ever after. If there ever was a couple who deserves their HEA, it's them, and they’re probably the most deserving I’ve ever seen.
My advice is to read this duet back to back. It had been three months and 80+ books since reading the first half, and there were a few times I had to reach back into my brain to remember things.
Hang on to your hats and grab the tissues because this one is intensely emotional. You'll feel like your heart has been shredded, and you won’t come away unscathed. I don’t know if there's angst so much as there's adrenaline-inducing tension and nail-biting drama. It's like the author swiped the very best components from a spine-tingling thriller and stuck them in a romance, and what a ride it is! Then with the heart wrenching and the poignant, tender moments, gah! Just gah.

I'm writing this review in summation of all the books in the series since its difficult to write individuals reviews when each book is interconnected to one another, but WOW. I was blown away by this series. Elizabeth O'Roark is my favorite author of the year, no doubt. I am a book shy of finishing her entire backlist and have thoroughly enjoyed most (if not all) of her books. The Parallel Series is rank at the top near the Devil Series. This is unlike anything I've ever read!
This entire series is quite difficult to explain in terms of plot and the dynamics of the characters. In short, its about time travel, the nuances that come with the ability, and the relationships that are created and/or harmed throughout the process. It is BEAUTIFULLY written. O'Roark weaves past, present, and future storytelling effortlessly that tugs on your heartstrings and makes you hurt for each and every character. They are complex, so well written, and so tragically sad. Because of that, you are transported into every universe that the characters travel to and witness every emotion that they bare. I can't explain how much love and admiration I have for these characters.
I thought the first two books were my favorite, but Across Time and Across Eternity take the cake. The first two books in the series focus on one couple and the last two books focus on another (the couple that started it all). I loved the entire series so much and cannot wait for the rest! If you need an epic love story about star crossed lovers that actually has plot, this series is for you. I highly recommend just jumping in blind and seeing how you like it - I certainly did!

I have to tell you that this writer is so talented and I wouldn't ever in a million years have found her if it wasn't because Elisa san recommended it. A must read for anyone in love with contemporary romance.

We all, in the end, have to give up the things we love, and I am no exception. Even so, I would not change a thing. -Sarah
This was another highly anticipated read of 2020 for me. After finishing book 1, ACROSS TIME, I was eager to jump back into this world, especially with that cliffhanger! Elizabeth blew my mind with the way in which she told this story. Her ability to weave time traveling through past, present and future into this story line, was extraordinary and done so with excellent precision. How she was able to strategize and execute such an elaborate plot was A M A Z I N G! With time travel stories, you have MANY facets to juggle because if you change something in the past, it effects the present and future and so on. Also, this duet is a spinoff of Elizabeth's first time traveling duet, PARALLEL and INTERSECT (GR: https://www.goodreads.com/series/2641...), so Elizabeth had THAT story line to intertwine into this duet without changing that story line either. She had to lay things out perfectly and make sure the timing was right throughout the whole story, as to not mess up any of the plots of either duet. SO MANY things were at play here and Elizabeth mastered this story and created an extraordinary story and love that was truly timeless. A love that spanned ETERNITY.
This book was unputadownable! If I didn't have to adult, I could've easily found myself reading it in one sitting. It was packed full of angst, emotions, and love. SO MUCH L O V E. I was literally left speechless when I finished. I didn't know whether I should cry or smile. It was such a bittersweet happiness at the end. They FINALLY found their HEA after every horrible thing that they endured and lost. No couple deserved a happily ever after more than them. I am almost compelled to reread PARALLEL and INTERSECT to piece this duet into that one. I love seeing the big picture and being able to piece it all together, and now I can. I cannot emphasize more on how impressed I am with how Elizabeth wove all these books together. B R A V O! I know that this is the end of this duet, and probably this book world, but I am hopeful that Elizabeth can come up with more plot/stories for other characters from this world. I would happily come back to this time traveling world and read more.
If you're new to time travel, give this duet a try! I can't recommend it more.

I absolutely loved Across Time and couldn’t wait to read Across Eternity. But dare I say that this book was even better! Total book hangover alert. There were so many feels, including being completely torn apart and heartbroken, that made it all the more worthwhile to have the happy moments. I'm not going to lie, I had recurring stomach ulcers reading this because there were some seriously angsty or tense situations that stressed me out! Yet, I live for that when I read a book. Whether it was relationship related stuff or the circumstances surrounding the characters that meant life or death or the revelations from the twists. There's so much that happens that my heart was pounding on overtime, watching Amelie handle one situation from the next and admiring her more and more as the story carried on. She transformed so much compared to the last book that I have a much greater understanding of who she is and who she became. Let's just say Amelie is a force to be reckoned with. She loves so fiercely and loyally that one should consider themselves lucky to be on the receiving end and the exact opposite for crossing any of her loved ones the wrong way. There's a lot of things that need to happen in order for the future's fate to be properly sealed and much of it rests on Amelie's shoulders (unbeknownst to her). As for Henri, I still love that guy so much because when push comes to shove, he is everything when it truly matters.
Also, I got the answers that I was looking for and am eagerly awaiting for more of the characters from this universe. One of my absolute favorites so far for this year. I could read this book (and the one before) over and over again. Highly recommend this duet and if you haven't picked up Parallel and Intersect, I would suggest reading those first in order to fully appreciate the gravity of what unfolds in these books.
Also, I got the answers that I was looking for and am eagerly awaiting for more of the characters from this universe. One of my absolute favorites so far for this year. I could read this book (and the one before) over and over again. Every year, I wind up reading a book that emotionally guts me. It’s a book that, when I read the final words, makes me take in a deep breath and take a moment to reset.
I know it’s only March, but this book is going to be THE book for me this year. THE book that will stick with me. THE book that I will come back to and read more than once. THE book that I would rate 10 stars if I could.
I’ve been anxiously anticipating this book for weeks - and now that I’ve finally been able to read it, I’m struggling to come up with the right words to convey how it truly made me feel. This is the first book I’ve read in awhile that had me holding my breath with almost every turn of the page. There were moments where I wanted to scream, moments where I wanted to cry (and I actually did cry at the end), moments where the words hit me so deep that I had to take a moment to really feel them.
Sarah and Henri literally go to hell and back to be together. The action, the twists, the near-misses (and not-so-near-misses)...it seriously left me feeling raw for awhile after I finished it.
This will forever be one of my favorite duets. I thought the author’s duet series I read last year was good...and it was one of my top five reads of 2019...but no. This one tops that one.

This is an epic conclusion to an amazing series. I honestly don’t know how someone can concoct such a creative tale with so many intricate pieces, but Elizabeth O’Roark did it! I will admit; I’m a little envious of those who can start at the beginning with Parallel, Intersect, and then move onto Across Time and Across Eternity and see the whole thing unfold in succession. Then again, I wouldn’t trade the opportunity to gobble up O’Roark’s words as she writes them, though. I mean, I can remedy the situation by *jumping back* (yep, I went there 😂) and starting again at the beginning.
For someone who isn’t specifically interested in paranormal or historical tropes, I was 1000% into this series. The story of Across Eternity was emotional, suspenseful, and equally desperate and hopeful. It was just an all around well written stories with characters that I will treasure.

As someone who is a sucker for paranormal and historical books, this book seems like the perfect mix of both, I felt a deep connection to the characters through the authors writing. The Parallel Series, Across Time and now Across Eternity are some of the best time travel series I've had the pleasure of reading. There are so many wonderful layers of detail that only adds to the intrigue and mystery. This story is nothing short of genius. Elizabeth O'Roark is a master storyteller. So much creativity and thought provoking as you move through time in the past, present and future. You put the puzzle pieces together until that "A Ha" moment when all becomes clear. This is a series that I hope continues with some of the other characters. An excellent read.

Omg! I've been dying for an angsty romance and this duet was it for me, it was so gripping!! I love time travel romances, it's one of my favorite tropes and this was so beautifully written. I cried so hard and so many times. My heart was shattered and then pieced together bit by bit. I have never felt so bipolar from just reading a book😅, I felt so much anger, then happiness and then sadness. Truly an amazing and unforgettable book.

I loved the first 2 books in the series so much but feel like this series just went downhill as it carried on. Book 3 I liked but then this book was just like watching a spiraling plane taking its time crashing to the ground. This book, and book 3, were already kind of a hard sell to me as I don’t really enjoy storylines set during WWII. Book 3 had enough swoony, sweet, angsty moments that I really enjoyed the beginnings of that romance between Amelie and Henri. But then this book really jumps into WWII action which was just kind of boring to me. We watch the characters trying to survive during the beginnings of France being occupied during WWII and Henri in the war.
This book was just not what I expected as part of the series; it was filled with drama, ow drama, bad choices, character disappointment, lots of sad moments (that don’t get better), more drama, more bad choices, deaths, killing sprees, a finger being chopped off, trying to stay alive during war times, etc. There was just so much going on that I didn’t care about and not a lot of happiness or even romance for the characters. But I kept going because I wanted to see how this pulled back around to Quinn and Nick, which we finally see a bit at the end but it felt lackluster by that point. Even some of the explanations behind the time travel were blah and/or more questions than answers. This honestly felt more “love story during wartime with time travel and bittersweet moments” and was just not what I wanted for these characters of the overall story.
