Robert Thier is a German historian, lover of old books and award-winning writer, whose novels and stories encompass the historical, satirical, and fantastical. For the way he manages to make the past come alive, as if he himself lived as a medieval knight, his inventive fans have given him the nickname “Sir Rob.” All of his stories are characterized by his very own brand of humor that has gained him a diverse readership ranging from teenagers to retired grandmothers.

For Robert, becoming a writer followed naturally from his interest in history. “In Germany,” he says, “we use the same word for story and history. And I've always loved the one as much as the other. Becoming a storyteller, a writer, is what I've always wanted.”

Besides writing and researching in dusty old archives, on the lookout for a mystery to put into his next story, Robert enjoys classical music and long walks in the country. The helmet you see in the picture he does not wear because he is a cycling enthusiast, but to protect his literary skull in which a bone has been missing from birth. Robert lives in the south of Germany in a small village between the three Emperor Mountains.

Chapter 6, and it's getting boring. Lillian on an adventure by herself, with a girl crushing on her, I don't find it entertaining at all. It's almost predictable. I won't waste my coins on Radish to read a book with typical soap opera plot. It's started to feel like this series was unnecessarily prolonged, what with the rejected proposal and whatnot. I need Mr. Ambrose, NOW! And I need Lillian and Rick to be to together again, YESTERDAY!

4.5stars.

Finally finished this book!!!
AND...just got more frustrated than before 'cause IT'S NOT THE FUCKING LAST BOOK!!!

Whaaaat, still not the last book?
Just no, I’m sorry 😭

• RANTING BELOW •

Ok, I am officially SO bloody done with this series. I think it’s just so utterly ridiculous to have prolonged into FIVE books with minimum relationship development, and lots and LOTS of unneccessary fillers. But that is not my (main) issue. Oh no, my main issue is the fucking female protagonist:

- She loves to talk and talk and talk... I am seriously sick of her POV.
- She tries to be hironic every other fucking paragraph, but looks more like she’s forcing herself to be. Like, she has to be sarcastic all the time, because she’s THAT good.
- Was it just me, or she sounded like she judged people all the time? Like she bitched about others for every thing? She would comment about people in this subtle way... plus with a dash of hirony just to make it look like she was just joking, when in reality she’s an actual class A bitch.
- SHE DOESN’T KNOW SHIT ABOUT SUFFRAGE and actual gender equality. She was actually the most SEXIST CHARACHTER of them all. She complained about men, talked bad about them, wished them to different methods of death and torture throughout the series, and just thought so LOWLY of them in general that I was sick. That is NOT ok Lily, just because you’re fighting for a cause, it don’t give you the right to become a crazy bitch about it.
- For someone that is a VIRGIN living in the fucking 1800s, she sure is outgoing! She’s from a family that is not that bad in the social ladder, YET she trapsies around the streets (multiple time throughout the night) unchaperoned, without any worries and reservations at all. She would look actually quite childish and like a brat when they would tell her not to do something and she would go like “No, I want to do it!” Or start using the fucking fact that ‘because she’s a female it doesn’t mean she can’t do those things’. Bitch, in that age you wouldn’t even DREAM about doing things women didn’t do, let alone wanting to. She acts like a modern girl stuck in the past, and she complains about what girls can’t do like she KNOWS what she’s missing. The historical inaccuracy is just over the top. Oh, and let’s not forget how she strips herself naked and walks like that for many chapters without any second thought. People in that society at that time would NEVER do that. Me, a girl in the 21st century, would never do that shit either, feminist or not. That’s just fucking stupid.

Or how she would manage to escape bad guys miraculously without a scratch EVERYTIME, or how she would start to actually sexually harass Rikkard in Book 3... yes, you heard me right, Lily, the virginal 18th century chick was doing the sexual harrassing, chasing after Rikkard to have sex when he repeatedly tells her no. But oh! She’s a girl, and she’s fighting for feminists, so it’s all good, it’s not actually sexual harassment 🙄

Lily would simply annoy me to no end, basically.

And Rikkard? Well, there’s just so many times I can read how cold, how hard, how chiselled he is. He does get a bit better in progessive books, but damn... Not much to take back home.

• What did I actually like about this series: it made me realise how grossly innacurate the idea of feminism is.

• Would I re-read this series: hell no, too much wasted time, not enough gist.

• Final notes: gosh, it was hard to write this review, because I’ve been reading this from the very beginning when Storm and Silence was just a fledgling story on Wattpad. But I’m sorry to say this story has gone out of proportion and should go more in the Comedy section instead of Historical Romance, because in general this whole series is ridiculous.

2.5 stars. I’m so disappointed. I have absolutely loved this series from this start, but this book turned out to be so so boring! Like I had to force myself to finish it, the ending is just being prolonged and this book held a ton of unnecessary parts. I’m not even sure I want to read the next one:((

When does a writer realise that the book is going downhill? I've been following this series since the first book and I was floored. The chemistry and banter between the leads characters was so enjoyable and the concept intriguing that I couldn't put the book down or might I say the app off. However the problem with watt pad writers is that there are too many typos or they don't know when to pull the plug.

The book that started so uniquely before just feels dragged and where the author is trying to create depth and reveal a romantic side for Mr. Ambrose. Though the sarcastic and humorous dialogues are still there, they don't bring out the same laugh and novelty as before. Most scenarios seem repetitive and overly exaggerated. It tries to up feminism to a level where men are portrayed to be dumb especially if they are in love (Edmund for example)

I can easily claim that I missed Dalgliesh. The ever powerful leader of the East India Company and Mr. Ambrose's arch enemy. There should have been more of him in the book. Actually the secret of their rivalry is still kept a secret and honestly now I don't think I care.

The author is definitely talented and it was a delight reading his books but I think the book could have been a trilogy. I say this because there's gonna be a sixth. So I give this book 2 stars for Karim and Ella whom I liked in this book better than others.

It's honestly disappointing how a really promising series turned into a useless, dragged-out one which makes you want to ask, "Why did I bother reading this?" Thier filled this book with meaningless fluff that offers no resolution or answers, overused cliffhangers (there's one for almost every chapter), and reads as if it's an incomplete rough draft. Ambrose is supposed to - FINALLY - meet Lilly's parents, but we're caught up in confusing, unnecessary drama so nothing happens. I'm wondering if Thier has enough time to fully concentrate on this series? Plus, this has been dragged out for too long! The next novel is the last one in this series, but there's only three books, so far, that are worth reading. Utterly disappointed, since I loved the first two books. I don't know if I'll read the next book, but you're not missing anything if you skip this one.

4 ridiculously cheesy stars! I'm not sure what it is about these books, but they are totally addictive in a really quirky way. While the dialogue and writing could use some refining, I just love the totally unrealistic adventure, the unconventional relationship between Lilly and Mr. Ambrose, and the cheesy banter between the two. It's one of those series that's just a funny and lighthearted read that constantly makes you smile at really dorky jokes and clean romance. I've also read Robert Thier's "Robber Knight" series, and true to his silly style, is also on my list of all time favorites. Highly recommend both, and I think Robert Thier needs to be on more people's radar, especially on Goodreads :)

I was debating giving this one 4 stars bc some parts were a little boring, but I had to go with 5. Lilly and Mr. Ambrose are actually everything and deserve the world.
p.s. one of these stars is for Karim because he was perfect.
p.p.s.we got to see Lilly drunk again ❤️

“Bad floor! Bad! Just because drunk people always end up drooling on you, that’s no reason to be vindictive. How could you want to hurt those cute little piggies? Can’t you see how well they dance?’

‘Mr Linton, I think I’d better get you upstairs to your room.’

‘No! I need to have a serious talk with this floor.’

‘There’s plenty of floor upstairs, Mr Linton.’

Really? Damn! This was a conspiracy.”

ahh i just, they’re just perfect
“Because anything I give away is a weapon that can be used against me. But when you're close... I want to have things I never knew I needed. And I want to give parts of myself away I never knew I had.”

It wasn’t I who had changed. It was us. He was still him, and I was still me. But together, we were something new. Something better.

After securing her favorite sister's future, Lilly went after the love of her life. In Paris. She discovered why her icy cold employer had left her behind in the first place. Followed by another one of dangerous adventure together as well as romance in the city of love. But danger didn't really end there. As they found out that a tragedy had stricken in London. But together, Lilly and Rick no doubt overcome every thorn that would be planted in their way just to be with each other.

I wish I could teach a certain villainous Lord a lesson. It's hard not to like the prima donna of Rick's opera. And it was hilarious when our dear Victor Linton gained an admirer who fell in love with him. Lmfao! However, I felt soooo bad for what Ella was going through. She's such a delicate flower. I like her and that certain lover of his. Both were so innocent. Just the pure opposite of Rick and Lilly. Ahh! the look an envy on Anne, Maria and their Aunt Brank's face was priceless!😂 I was laughing so hard that my mother probably thought I was going crazy. Anyway, the plot was getting interesting more and more. I just am unable to stop myself from grabbing one book after another just to know more about Rick and Lilly. They've become so dear to me. I just love them so much. They're one of the most unforgettable couple I've known. Besides I think I fell in love with Rikkard Ambrose more in this book.

Once again the author outdid himself. I couldn't help but loved his writing style, plot, world-building and characters. So it goes without saying that I really loved and enjoyed every second of this book.

It was really good book, but I felt like it was a bit dragged in the middle. Other than that, it was amazing!! Lord Dangleish had to make an appearance again. He can't just leave them alone can he? And I can't believe that they are gonna get married!! Knowing Mr Ambrose, it'll be as cheap wedding as possible😂. Oh Mr Ambrose! Why couldn't you give Lilly a REAL ring rather than a CURTAIN ring😂?

Hunting for silence:
So this series has definitely been a long one.
I was expecting an end in this book but i guess im wrong.(an understatement really).
It started with Lillian Linton a feminist in Great Britain -when women weren’t allowed to vote- attempting to vote.
Trying to test her disguise as a man she ends up being hired as a personal assistant to none but the richest man Mister Rikkard Ambrose. The series goes on like this, with Lillian Linton under the guise of Victor Linton (the former’s alleged brother) going on multiple trips around the world with her stingy employer, managing to fall in love with the slab of ice cold stone..
In the previous book after Mr Ambrose proposed and was answered with a NO i expected an end to it in this book, where they get married and live happily ever after, cliché? I know but very well overdue.. STILL i cant say i didn’t enjoy this!
This book started with our dear cheap mogul in Paris on a dangerous mission to fight Dalgliesh. And so Miss Linton was forced to stay in London. But of course when does Lilly listen? Embarking on a trip to the city of love they face a lot hardships, and a new mystery to uncover.
The book was funny, Lilly’s snark remarks and sarcasm drawing laughs out of me. The dramas were a little bit cliché but the whole thing was very humorous.
I was super tense near the end but Robert Thier managed to lighten the mood expertly.
A hilarious comic book and a very fun series to read if you’re looking for something light (yet long, I definitely wouldn’t have recommended pushing it this far and would’ve ended it at book 3)
BUT I’m still going to read the next book! (I want a wedding!)

FINALLY THE END OF BOOK 5!
This is the longest series at Wattpad that I've read.
Sir Rob is a great writer, his books are so well-written and he always makes sure that the historical parts of his stories are based on the facts, not the made-up kind of facts.
Definitely my favorite historical-romance slash adventure series! ❤
