All magic has a price…

But what it cost me can never be given back.

So I'll have to settle for vengeance.

Don’t miss the epic finale for The Coven: Academy Magic in The Secret Witch. The problems for this sharp-witted heroine and swoon-worthy hero are only getting crazier. Fans of The Mortal Instruments, Twilight, or Harry Potter will love Chandelle LaVaun’s brand new urban fantasy series!

Patrick Swayze and Baby

Action, plot twists, and finally romance for Jackson and Bettina. Love all the pop culture references they make me chuckle. Please never put that Baby in the corner. Clever and unexpected twists with Tim and B's parents. There were a lot of plot threads left from previous books most were woven together. Couple left though. What was Joseph's trying to accomplish with the dark magic and what actually happened to Tim in the old lands? And to be nitpicky why did Hope have be a Haven clone? I get nobody was supposed to recognize her, but dang. All Jackson's inner musings of her looking like a Barbie/Angel or reminiscing about her royal blue eyes was all a farce. Honestly felt a bit robbed that her entire appearance was a fraud. Kudos for making me care but Haven/Hope having the same mismatched eyes was just weird. They are more "identical" twins than Tegan and Emersyn. LOL Whatever, I'm still looking forward to the next series. Hopefully we get more of the bro/sis duo, find out what Joseph's end game was and how it relates to Lilith and Haven/Hope role's in the fight to come.

This was a tear jerker. There is so much to process. I've never been so sad and happy reading a book. Chandelle LaVaun did an amazing job of tying up so many storylines and weaving all the books together.
I still have hope that Lennox will join the coven at some point.

***** 5 Awesome Stars *****

It's hard to believe that B's season is over. I know she and Jackson will be back in the next set of The Coven series, but still. I absolutely love everything about these stories. I say it over and over again. Action packed, cool magic, loads of characters you can't help but love, these books have it all. Great wrap up to this storyline and nice lead in to next. Can't wait!

100% Recommend!

Chandelle really brought out all the big guns with this one. Once you start reading this book, you will lose yourself in the story. The emotions, the mystery and the magic will draw you in and leave you breathless and gasping wanting more. It's just amazing how each and every character has grown through each and every book that I now feel like a part of the Coven and a member of the family. I really enjoyed seeing the Tennessee from the very first book. While I know that he has been through a lot, just seeing those glimpses of him was amazing.
Once you start reading this book you will not be able to put it down, you will need to have the answers, and answers you will receive.
I look forward to the next adventure

I do have to say every book in the series so far really needs some major editing. There were a lot of grammar and spelling errors. That being said I really love this series. I oopsed and read Bettina's books first. It wasn't too confusing but made a lot more sense after reading Tegan's books. Even with editing issues, it didn't take away from the story lines. I really wish Emerson's books were a little longer though. This is a must series to read!!!

Can I just say
BETTINA IS THE FUCKING MAIN CHARACTER HERE. NOT TEGAN. NOT TENNESSEE. BETTINA.

This entire series was basically revolving around Tegan and Tenn from book 2 up until the end and let me tell you it pisses me off so much. Like honestly this could have just been book 7 of the Elemental magic series and NOBODY would have questioned it because of how this kept revolving around them.
SECONDLY, the plot isn't really complicated and stuff. If you know your YA fantasy books it makes it increasingly obvious that Bettina is Hope, and the whole ending of the series was kind of...plain

AGAIN. This series is about Tegan and Tenn atp. + its really hard to believe that everyone in the book is 16+ and stuff considering ALL of them act like kids, except for the actual adult-adults. It was also kind of repetitive.

+WHY ARE TEGAN AND TENNESSE LIKE ALL POWERFUL AND THE STRONGEST IN THE WORLD AND SHIT? They aren't even like anything special (pls dont attack me)
Like, ANYONE could have been as strong as Tegan and Tennessee from the coven if they were just born with like the power card or wtv shit that is. ALL of them have worked equally hard, if not harder, than Tegan and Tenn.

Also what was the target audience for this book in the first place???? Like a 12 year old could read it and like it because of the romance and stuff, a 16 year old would find it cringe, an adult would find it boring and unrealistic. Who is the target audience anyways?

overall, too Tegan-Tennesse: this entire series is basically a continuation of the elemental magic series, and the author just added two main characters to make it seem like a "separate" series so that people would read it more instead of wanting such a long ass series

I voluntarily reviewed this book after receiving a free copy.

It is a rare thing that a book can pull me in so fully, I forget the world around me. It is a rare thing that entire series can do this and rarer still that the final book in a series leaves me satisfied.

Y'all, this was better than sex.

From receiving my advanced reader copy at 12:17pm on Sunday, I could not put my ipad down. I did not eat. I did not move from beneath my blankets as my eyes devoured the words that painted the most amazing of emotional rollercoasters I have ever been on. My heart broke, tears poured down my cheeks, both happy and sad, and I laughed and I shook with anger. This book was everything I could have wanted, everything I did not know I needed and perfection all around.

There may be spoilers ahead, ye have been warned.

All I can say is #BettinaisHope lives on forever and I can't wait to see more of this world.

I approached this series with the expectation that the main female character would be a significant witch.

Bettina's character development was impressive; she started as someone unaware of her witch heritage and gradually learned to harness her magic. Her journey included overcoming obstacles to unlock her powers, becoming a member of the coven as Judgement, and ultimately discovering that the man she had feelings for was her soulmate.

This revelation allowed her to finally access her magic, only to learn that she is the long-lost sister of her coven leader. Bettina's growth throughout the series was remarkable.

As for Jackson, I had my doubts about him initially, but he also experienced substantial character development, albeit not as pronounced as Bettina's. He played a crucial role in finding the Michael sword, which ultimately aided Bettina and her brother in defeating Joseph.

In conclusion, I thoroughly enjoyed this series. It was a delightful way to wrap up the year.

Wishing everyone a Happy New Year!

Excellent!

This was actually a 4.5 stars rating. It would have been a 5 star but I really wanted more adult scenes. I know I'm a perv but that's my opinion! Can't wait for part 3!!

Best book Chandelle has written so far!

This ending was epic! Chandelier loved how you added stuff in this one that we discussed in your Facebook group. I laughed out loud so many times! In this book Bettina really comes into her own. Even though by the end of the book she still doubts herself, however I love that because it makes her more human. I can relate to her better. Bettina & Jackson finally get to see each other after learning they are soulmates. Jackson's reaction is priceless! The coven are trying to rid Eden of Joseph & his shadows. Then everyone from Eden can return to their homes & school. A lot of questions get answered in this book, I am doing my best not to ruin it for anyone. Tennessee finally gets his memories restored. However, it isn't as great a gift as he thought it would be. Lots of those memories hurt. Especially, when he finds out he has a sister that her forgot about! Think about it if you were in his shoes, she could be anywhere. And what if she was dead, he would never forgive himself. However his memories being restored right then was a huge blessing. They had someone who was there when the incident that created the shadows happened. So Tennessee told them everything he remembered about that spell they did. It helped them figure out how to fix the shadows. Ok that is all I'm going to say because I don't want to ruin it for anyone.

Questions finally answered...Amazing!!!

I've said this time and time again, Chandelle is by far one of my favorite authors. She delivers such amazing stories each and every time. I'm really going to try to do this with little to no spoilers. This book literally picks up where we left off in the last story. Jackson discovers his mate is in Eden but he has no idea who it is. But we do #Bettson. There are so many different twist and turns in this book, that at times you may feel like you're in an emotional rollercoaster. So much character growth and tons of fan questions and theories are finally answered. Questions like why can't Tenn remember his past and why was Bettina's powers blocked are finally explained. Our coven is tested in more ways than one, made extremely vulnerable and some will need to overcome some of the hardest trials they've come against yet. The ending is fantastic and draws an amazing conclusion for now. Though this is the end of Jackson and Bettina's story, the best part about Chandelle is she gives them back to us in different books. So this is not the last time we will see them. If you love any of her previous book This one will not disappoint.

I was given an ARC of this book for my honest opinion.

This is a MUST READ!!!

This is the final book in Bettina's Story. If you don't know who Bettina is then please stop and read the first book of Tegan's Story to get caught up.

IF you're caught up in the series and you want clues as to what will happen or want to know if it is an EPIC finale, let me just say...YES YES YES!!!! Just like Harry Potter this is a book I will be re reading forever, Chandelle did it all for us, she filled in the blanks, surprised us and gave us happy tears because let's be honest, we don't read to see the heroine die, we read for the happy ending.
Caution: Read this book...PLEASE! You will fall in love with every character and it will be amazing!

WOW what an epic finale!!! This series has been incredible. You have Bettina our kick ass heroine and Jackson our swoon worthy hero who have nothing but problems to face but hey that’s life I guess!! There’s Angels and demons, witches and magic, romance, revenge and so much emotion that you will find yourself laughing and crying and if you haven’t read this series yet then why not???

5 bloody brilliant stars.
What a story. Was kind of expecting the twist but it was still jarring once it was confirmed. I have been wondering why Tennessee got a POV in the coven academy, and NOW I KNOW WHY. Bettina and Jackson are my absolute favorites.

I'm pretty sad Bettina's outer appearance changed later on, especially because I've really gotten to imagine her in my head as previously described, along with the book covers, but ah well.

We finally get one sbook of Bettina and Jackson just being completely solid and it's amazing. Though I totally missed the angst. I loved getting glimpses in Jackson's mind via his POV chapters. Kept him from being a background character once their relationship was established.

I must admit...I'm not so excited to meet saffie as the main character in the next series. This series really played up how juvenile she was. And I know the reason for that makes complete sense, but I really do not want to be inside the mind of someone who just discovered texting and tv. We'll see.

Overall, a solid contender for one of my favorite series of the year. Great pacing, action, romance, found family, and a whole lot of comedy thrown in for the tough times.

Epic finale

Wow what a final book. This author always takes us on an emotional rollercoaster but this time wow just wow. This book had so many ups and downs I would be laughing at something funny with tears still running down my face from the previous scene that had me crying. I absolutely loved this story every book has been well written with a story that just kept me turning the page, and eagerly awaiting the next book. This one took it to the next level the way the story was finished was nothing short of outstanding although many of the outcomes were things that seemed likely over the books there were just enough surprises to really keep you guessing on what would happen next. I loved it and can’t wait for the next series.

Just...WOW! Yet another amazing book!

Every time I start a new book by Chandelle LaVaun, I am excited. Yet, nervous that the progression of the world and characters couldn't possibly live up to her previous work. I am always, pleasantly, WRONG! Every book is FILLED TO THE BRIM with unique & wonderful plots and storylines that are never predictable but always line up once you have all the information! Chandelle is able to give her readers just enough information to hook them, while leaving the bulk of the truth to be filled in along the way. Such a wonderful way of making her novels feel like reality and we're all reading a play by play of the details! Can't wait to read her next book, as usual!

5 stars for The Secret Witch by Chandelle LaVaun. This is book five in The Coven: Academy Magic series and is the end of Bettina and Jacksons series. Man, Oh Man do I love this series. While I am sad that the season is over, I am excited to see what is to come for all of these characters in the next series. I want to dive right in and not come back out. A lot of secrets were revealed and what a doozy they were. We still get to see all our favorite characters. We also see a softer side of Tennessee. I love that Bettina and Jackson finally get to be together even though it was a long journey to get there. The Coven is tested multiple times in this book, and I am ready to see what they will be up against next. This book and series did not disappoint.

4.25/5
This was the conclusion to the second season of The Coven. At times it was a little more emotional than I would like, but it fit how I think the characters would have reacted well. There were some surprises. They were mostly predictable as long as the rest of the books have been read. Sometimes predictable is a good thing. Since I think this is really a YA series it fits well. There was a good balance of action and drama and relationships. I can see it being confusing using two different names for some people based on the current character perspective. Overall I think the series was solid for an urban fantasy for teens.
I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys YA urban fantasy. If you are looking for something deep, this has depth, but the genre is problem not your go to.

So, so amazing!

Bettina and Jacksons story continues with The Secret Witch and it is EVERYTHING I thought it would be and so much more! It is definitely one heck of an absolutely freaking amazing and completely addicting ride and I could not get enough. My emotions were seriously all over the place with this one and I loved every minute of it. These two are so perfect together and have been through a lot as has the coven and I just adore how they are all fiercely loyal and protective of each other and are one big family! Seriously what a way to end their story and looking forward to more books in this fantastic world and to see what comes next for them all!

I was overwhelmed by this book

I was given this book for free and here is my unbiased review. There are a handful of story tellers out there that are able to hold you spell bound in a book. This Author is one of them. She has been weaving her spell from Book 1 leaving intricate details throughout the series making us pant with anticipation. All the questions answered and everything revealed it was a master piece in it's creation. Bettina was strong, courageous and clearly a super witch. I enjoyed her transition throughout. I am afraid to let go and my heart will forever race when I think of the Coven.

HEA & Adventure

Ugh... this book! Such a beautiful ending for Bettina & Jackson before season 3. Since Chandelle has graciously stated The Coven will be continuing their exploits in a third season I am over the moon happy to waiting to read more about their adventures. I love these characters so so much and I’m not ready to say goodbye to them!
If you haven’t yet, I highly recommend reading The Coven series to learn more about the High Priestess and Emperor and their journey to self discovery. It’s not expressly needed to jump into the Eden world with Bettina, but definitely worth the read.

This is a book I never knew I needed in my life. I never cried so hard over a book before till I read this one. I'm so Fucking happy Bettina was Hope and obviously Haven was Tennessee. Glad they call each other but there real name's it makes me cry each time! This book was the perfect ending to this season/series I can't wait to read the next book's to come! So many possible new couple's as well. And that Christmas epilogue was perfect just before Christmas to lol. I actually went through a tree mishap just like that with family 😂 I'm so glad Tim is back and alive. I hope Saffie is alright!! I hope there's more news on "Frankie"

I just thought about something. White supremacist entitlement is so strong. Like I am sure the author of this series doesn’t think she is racist, but she decided that the genocide of an indigenous tribe was okay to include in her plot. These witches slaughtered a whole ass tribe! With all the magic, there was no other way? So, now I’m going to change all my ratings on her books. I mean I’m used to BIPOC erasure in white fiction, so it doesn’t make me angry there’s only one Puerto Rican character in the series. But, to slaughter a whole ass tribe!? As a Black woman with indigenous ancestry, I have to speak on it, despite enjoying the series otherwise.

Pretty perfect

4.5 for me

I loved the drama and I LOVED that it was obvious but not obvious, cause I totally second guessed myself so many times to the point of hoping it would be that obvious just so I could be a happy lol

This was cool. More about Bettina's life than the actual battle mentioned in Tegan's story series, but I'm not upset. I like that this felt like a series not meant to head towards the ultimate battle, but to introduce all the key players in an organic way. So I'm happy. Ugh I cried so many times and laughed so hard and loud. I can't wait for my friends to read it so we can cry together.

Good

This book completes “season 2” of The Coven, or the Academy Magic story arc.
Bettina and Jackson will have to work with the rest of the coven to try and clean up Joseph’s mess, and save both the school and the town of Edenberg.

Secrets are revealed, stories told, and although there are tears, some might just be happy ones!

An excellent finish to this second story arc within the world of the coven.
Recommended for urban fantasy fans.

NB: while it is suggested as young adult, certain sexual situations are alluded to, though not mentioned in any detail. Mostly fade to black scenes and innuendo, which is why I classify both series as UF rather than as YA-UF.

OMG! Chandelle!! Wow! 4.5!!

I have been following this series for a long time now. And it's been a while since I read the last book. While I was reading it the main players came back into focus but some of the other Cards were still a bit muddy in my mind. But Man! This book SERIOUSLY hit me in the feels!

I was freaking sobbing... SOBBING! Like crying like a kid who's Christmas presents were stolen.

Wow! Great job Chandelle!! To me, like actors, the mark of a good author is to instill such imagery that you can almost see through their eyes, feel what their characters feel... And Chandelle did just that!

Amazing!

The Secret Witch (The Coven: Academy Magic Book 5)

I absolutely loved 💕💕💕💕this book was that it never lost momentum and I was constantly on my toes, guessing what would come next, trying to figure out the grand scheme of things.
Happy 😀 about Haven and Hope finding their way back to each other.
Joseph OMG....

the series, for the most part, ended strong- but it's been far too much time cleaning up loose ends. It would have been cleaner to just, I don't know, end. But I really don't know exactly what should have been left out. It was a satisfying ending to the series overall, but I'm not sure whether there's anything else to be said about this particular coven, although I am kind of curious about the characters (nothing like reading about them to feel a connection).
It is nice to have all of the nuisance tied up...

I finished 5 books of this series in 5 days. If that won't convince you to read this book, I don't know what will. Very easy to read, wattpad style writing. But the characters are great, the plot was great, the execution was great. Basically I loved everything about this series. We also got dual pov🥰 (the only time i listen to a man's opinion).

Everything was great, except the romance ngl. Because there was no chemistry or connection, bonding yk. The main characters were just simping over each other from the get go. Like what, please appreciate each other for aspects other than their physical attrcativeness? Talents. Passion. Emotional maturity. Belonginess. Personality. Something. GIVE ME SOMETHING.

To the friend who recommended this book to me, I love you so much you're my soulmate now and I will worship at your feet. This book got me out of a terrible slump. It really broke through my depressive episode. I just could not put it down omg.

I guess I would've appreciated it better if I had read the first season first and appreciated all the side characters. I'll go read that now😋
