I like Peter Pan as a bad guy. I mean, that little flying jerk always annoyed the hell out of me and finally other people are getting to see my side of things.

I also like the idea of a young, hot Hook. I get this image in my head:


Some girls have all the luck.

This book was a great follow-up to the first one because left the Peter Pan story we know completely. I love the fairies in Neverland, especially the crazy one because, who doesn't like crazy? I love Hook's pirate side that comes out, even though he tries to contain it for Angel's sake. I love that the bad guy gets to be the good guy. It is just a whole lot of fun!

This sequel was so so good. The book takes place after the events of the first book.

CHARACTERS-
The characters were so so good in this. If you read this book you will love it and you will fall for the characters and I just love them. Angel is an amazing character and she is just very different from Wendy in the original tale by the way I hate Wendy.

ROMANCE-
The romance was absolutely gorgeous and written so well. Jamie and Angel are just so beautiful together and I love them so much!

PLOT-
The plot was very different from the first book but it was still amazing. I love the first book and this book equally and I think together they make a great series.

ENDING-
The ending was everything and more. I loved it and the last page of the book was so like the original book by J.M. Barrie.

I don't know what's wrong with me. I really, really wanted to like this book. Everyone else seems to love it, and that's wonderful because this author seems like a genuinely friendly person. Because of that, I also want to explain why I ultimately didn't end up liking this book.

Every time Angel and Hook were together in a scene, they sizzled right off the page. Everything else sort of fell flat for me. In fact, I seriously considered giving this book a 4-5 star rating at one point, when Hook skimmed his fingers along Angel's leg as his own private way of letting her know her legs were still wrapped around him, and she was writhing in embarrassment and he seemed to understand that and tossed his hat over her face without a glance back. That scene nearly made the book for me. I had such a ridiculous smile on my face, and I literally sank down in my chair and sighed.

But the rest of it--especially how everything came together at the end--soiled those good feelings. Most of my complaint could be summed up in a single character: Peter Pan. I just didn't understand him. I was in his head at one point--he had an entire POV in this book--and I didn't understand him. It's one thing to never grow up, but what's with the lack of character development?

There's a difference between never wanting your childhood to end, and flat-out choosing not to be a good person. Being a child doesn't mean you don't have to be a good person. I was hoping, when I read in the description that Peter "grows up", that it meant he started to understand that. In the last book, he was nothing but a petulant child who would throw any of his friends in danger's way once they stopped being "fun" to play with. That's what he did with Angel, and that never stopped bothering me. Even in this book, he kept protesting that he should get to involve Angel in his revenge plans for Hook because she betrayed him when she revealed the location of his treasure to him. Putting aside the fact that Angel didn't actually tell Hook where the treasure was, let's look at some facts.

Fact 1: Peter left Angel to nasty pirates who wanted to kill them at the time, all because she insisted she wanted to go back home.

Fact 2: The nasty pirates weren't actually that nasty to her, but Peter didn't know that Hook would fall in love her.

Fact 3: Peter didn't come back to save her. She didn't need saving, but Peter didn't know that. Essentially, he left her there to die.

Like I said, I never got over that about Peter Pan in the first book, so it less than thrilled me to learn that there would be some sort of twisted love triangle going on with him in this book. The author assured me the love triangle was not what I thought it was, and she was right.

It was worse, kind of. It wasn't a love triangle at all. It was a screwed-up mind game that Peter was playing with her, and that was not okay. Angel kept forgiving him time and time again, worrying about his safety and well-being, but there comes a time when a guy fucks you over one too many times that you just drop him and say, "I'm done with you." Maybe it wasn't in Angel's character to do that, but if that's her character, then that was part of what disappointed me. I had pegged her as a stronger character, and blind forgiveness is not strong. I would be madder than hell to find out I'd been tricked and pushed around the way Peter did to her, and to have it repeat in this never-ending cycle because of constant miscommunications. The way Peter treated her was abusive.

But he had the mind of a child still, right? It was fine. Everything was fine. All of his actions can be excused because he's a child. Not true. What defines a true child is not their physical appearance or mindset, but their age. They're young to the world and they don't know any better. That's what being a child means. The thing about Peter is that he's lived longer than Angel by leaps and bounds; the only difference was the mindset that he insisted on, and the fact that he had eternal youth. That's fine. His mindset is a personality quirk, and his youthful appearance was how he felt on the inside, so it's good that his outside matched.

That doesn't mean he's actually a child, though. He knows better. He's had years and years and years to know better. He should know the difference between right and wrong, and yet he doesn't. (Although, at one point in the book, I'm sure that he couldn't actually be held responsible for his actions because he did undergo a severe mental shock. He'd aged far beyond anything he'd ever imagined, flying through puberty and mid-life crises within a matter of days. Within any court of law, he could've probably pled insanity.)

But before his hyper-aging process, when all he did was age a few years--he was so angry and bitter even then, and all he did was age, physically, by a few years. As he proved in the treehouse, his childish spirit stayed with him. So is it weird if I find his reaction completely insulting? Most of us don't even have a choice whether or not to grow up, and he wasn't even a full-fledged adult at that point. He was still essentially in his teenage years, but there he was wreaking havoc in London and scheming dangerous revenge plots all because he aged a few years. Give me a break, Peter.

I'm not done yet. I meant it when I said I didn't understand Peter, and by that, I meant I thoroughly didn't understand him.

Why did he pass judgments the way he did? Why did he treat people the way he did? Why did he do anything that he did? I think the lazy answer to this is that he had a childish mindset. Children make bad decisions. But I feel like there is a misconception here. These two events don't go hand-in-hand. The more bad decisions you make don't make you more of a child. It just makes you a bad person. Children are capable of being good people. Just because you can do the right thing doesn't mean you're not a child, or that you're growing up. It's not a chore to be a good person. Standing up for someone in front of a bully, helping someone up when they fall down--are any of these things "grown-up" actions or "good people" actions?

And yet, I feel like these are things that Peter would actually neglect to do in any of these situations. He actually did leave Angel hanging in danger, and he didn't stand up for Angel in front of Hook because he was disgusted with her perseverance to return home.

Let's not forget how Peter also pushed away everyone who ever gave a damn about him, refusing to listen when they tried to reason with him when he started going off the deep end. Again, this was still when he had only aged a few years. The way he treated his friends was despicable, and I couldn't believe the way they just accepted him again with open arms just because he had a death scare. Just because you have a soul enough to care when a friend of yours almost dies doesn't mean their almost-death should act as an immediate device for you to forgive them for whatever misdeed they've done against you. If that was true, every time I fought with anyone I would just hurl myself off a shallow cliff and get away without ever having to make amends.

As for the actual ending itself? I don't know. I feel like everything tied up too neatly, complete with shiny paper and a tidy bow, and I saw the fairies and their scheme coming a mile away. It annoyed me, though, that they toyed with Hook and Angel like that and weren't forthright enough to save them some emotional pain to add to the roller coaster they've already been through. Of course, every ending's got to have its drama. I accept and understand that. I'm not sure what I expected, though.

You know what? The ending was probably entirely personal preference. I'm not a person who would've opted to stay in London. The entire time we followed Angel in London, everything was just always leading her back to Neverland. Maybe it was leading her back to Hook, but Hook is a man of Neverland. London would wash out his colors, and besides, I would've chosen to stay in Neverland. Hook already gave up too much for Angel, and Angel's already gotten back to her family once to let them know she was okay. I don't know what I would've done, but I would've made them understand, and I would've left.

Angel had family that she would never get to see again, sure, but I think Hook's crew was his family. He's still got Peter, who can apparently fly up whenever he wants, but Peter wasn't his true brother for the longest time. And Hook doesn't get to see his ship's crew whenever he wants.

Basically, I'm saying that I would've liked to see Angel stay in Neverland. Technically, I know she didn't have a choice, but realistically speaking, this ending could've been written either way. And it almost felt too sad to hear about Hook and how he was doing secondhand at the end. I guess it just feels wrong to hear about Hook outside of Neverland, like it would've felt wrong if Peter's aging had never reversed and he decided to become an adult, after all.

All in all, this sequel is a must if you want to get the happy ending to Angel and Hook's story. It just didn't hit the right spots for me, that's all. I almost hate how the last book left off on such a massive cliffhanger. I think I would feel less disappointed if it was less connected to the characters I grew to know and love in the last book.

An enchanting sequel and conclusion.

Jamie wants nothing more than to find a way to Angel. But in order to get to London, he must do some things. One of which is a horrible betrayal to Peter. In order to get revenge on his brother for the horrible consequences of Hook's choices, he gets to London first. And decides the best way to get revenge, is to steal his girl.

What a great sequel to the first book. I loved them both. The romance is still amazing and the story was full of adventure. I do get a bit annoyed with how often they forgive Peter and keep giving him chances. Just too perfect to me I guess. And Hook is a bit too sweet and gentle for a pirate. But that's just my view and it still doesn't take from the story.

This is definitely a romance. While it is a Peter Pan retelling, its main focus is romance. So I think that's important to know before you go into it. It's clean though. There is no cussing or sex. Just lots of kissing.

Recommended ages 15+
Mostly because I feel this is the intended audience.

Better known as Peter Pan Got Hot So That the Author Could Implement the Love Triangle Trope.

I kid you not.

That’s really why I think this book exists becuase there’s no other reason.

And let’s not get me started on the ending.

I should warn you that this part of the binge review is going to be filled with spoilery rants so if you are serious about reading this and don’t want your spoiler cherry popped please hit the little exit button now.

Aren’t gone. Well, I guess I’ll start with the plot for this one. As redundant and predictable as Neverland was at least it made sense the plot in Pan’s Revenge not so much.

First we have the Pan growing up and not turning into Robin Williams so there really is no excuse for that. Especially since said Pan now looks like an Abercombie model.

And then Pan basically manipulates are now amnesic heroine (yeah, she went with that trope) so that we can have a lame love triangle.

And then she basically copies and paste the same insta love kidnapping scene from the first book to this one.

And then the ending.

And then at that point my head explodes.

Before I get to just how heinous the ending is, I just want to talk about character development or the lack of it. The first book was bad enough to the hastily put together characters, but this book is a level worse because the flat character. I kid you not they digress and a good example of it…well, the ending.

Fuck.

Seriously.

WTF.

That’s what I started thinking about the last ten percent of this book. The first ninety percent bad but perfectly acceptable. The plot was getting resolved and everything and that curve ball.

Has Katmore ever heard of stupid characters getting their just desserts?

What? What...? What did I just read? This series got weird. Really weird. Well....WEIRDER. The first book had me on the fence about whether or not I liked it, but this one just sent me over the edge of confusion. These books were nothing like what I expected them to be. Let me just start by saying Peter Pan was an ass. Such an ass. And creepy as all get out. Half the time he was a revenge bent maniac and the other half he was busy being a super creeper. Jamie and Angel's relationship was enjoyable, but the dynamic with Angel and Peter was definitely pretty strange. Peter's sudden man status has him looking at Angel in a new light... no wait, he's pretty much still the same self-centered SOB he was in the first book...but now he has to shave? I hoped Peter would mature with his new age, but no. He just flipped his lid. Furthermore, Peter didn't just age...he aged 80 years by the end of the book while everyone else essentially stayed the same...why? I don't know. This world made no sense whatsoever. I get that it's Neverland, and that it's fiction. BUT. Good fantasy has consistency within its own logic. And the weird fairy plot just didn't cut it for me as a blanket explanation for everything.

This book also annoyed me because of Angel's easy-going forgiveness policy. What the heck?! Peter Pan lied to you. He manipulated you. He had no qualms about using you in his sick revenge plot. HE TRIED TO KILL YOU. But Angel didn't care. She had all this compassion for him. Where did this come from? Peter Pan was not just a misunderstood kid. He was calculated and cruel. To be honest, I felt that by the end of the book Peter's deteriorating, aging outside finally matched his withered inside. Seriously, it's rare that a character gets me this angry. And like I said, it was more how the other characters reacted to Peter that made me the most upset. Jamie, Angel, the Lost boys, and Tami all welcomed Peter back with open arms and wanted to sacrifice their own lifespans to let him be a boy again. Hold up. Peter's selfish behavior is what caused all this mess in the first place and you just want to give him what he wants after all he did? No. Noooo. NO. No character development, no redemption. Nothing. I have no idea what the author was thinking. Peter was a jerk. THE ENTIRE SERIES. He didn't look out for anyone's interests but his own. But he gets his perfect happy ending. Oh, and so does Jamie and Angel. PSYCH. They have to give up their firstborn to Neverland. And Angel was all like "Oh yes! I'll do that without a second thought! No problem!" SHE DIDN'T EVEN ASK JAMIE. HER FUTURE HUSBAND. So not okay. >:(

The only decent scenes were with Jamie and Angel, but then again, we already saw them fall in love in the first book. With Angel's memory loss we have essentially the same story of Angel being kidnapped aboard the pirate ship, Angel plotting her escape, Angel and Jamie making out in the Captain's Quarters. Hmmm seems familiar, doesn't it?

Overall, I'm not sure why I read this book. The first book was -alright- This book was more much more frustrating. The plot had so much potential! I feel like this series fell wayyyy short of what it could have been. :(

Der zweite Teil von "Adventures in Neverland" war
- spannend, sodass man das Buch teilweise gar nicht mehr aus der Hand legen wollte
- emotional, sodass man mitlitt, aggressiv gegen bestimmte Charaktere wurde, sich erfreute, wenn sich Missverständnisse auflösten und einfach die Gefühle der Charaktere sehr gut nachvollziehen konnte
- unterhaltsam, aber leider nicht so humorvoll, wie der erste Band, wo gerade die Gedanken vom Protagonisten Hook einem häufig ein Lächeln ins Gesicht trieb.

Die Schwäche der plötzlichen, teilweise holprigen Wendungen blieb, der Humor vom ersten Band war leider nicht mehr so präsent. Trotzdem muss man dieses Buch einfach nach dem ersten Band lesen. 3,5 Sterne mit Tendenz nach oben. Auf jeden Fall empfehlenswert!

Okay, so I just finished reading Pan's Revenge & I have to say 5 stars isn't a high enough rating for this book! It soared way above any expectations I could have dreamed of for the book! Anna hit an out of the park grand slam with this one!! It's pure genius!!! I absolutely loved it & HIGHLY recommend picking it up for a bit of light reading upon it's release date! :D it picks up exactly where Neverland ended & I don't believe it could have been written any more perfectly. You get more action, love, Hook & Angel, even more Pan that you didn't even realize you were missing from book one. It is a MUST READ!

After the surprising end of Anna Katmore's Neverland, I had to pick up Pan's Revenge right away to see what would happen! And it was quite a twist, I'll give you that. Though the first book ended with an epilogue three months later, we pick up the story here right before that chapter and see what goes on in those three months.

Angelina has no memories of Neverland, just an odd dream that continues to fade from her mind. Though she still has the heart necklace as proof, she just assumes it was a gift from her sister. And so life continues on as normal for her. But the points of view in this book are mostly told through Hook and Peter!

James is trying everything imaginable to get himself to Angelina, for he loves her and misses her. He'd do anything to be with her again. And then he gets the idea of destroying his father's pocket watch, the one that "stops time" in Neverland, but he has to get Peter to give it to him. Needless to say, things don't go well. Peter and James' relationship remains tremulous at best. When Peter finally does destroy the watch as provoked something strange happens, and Peter begins to age!

This part of the story is where things felt a little too convenient, Peter is now around the age of Angelina and James. He's not happy about his new situation and thinks of a plan to get back at James, to really hurt him. Naturally, that involves Angelina. He flies off to London, first thinking he might hurt her, but then figures having her fall in love with him would really kill James, so that's his plan!

Angelina upon meeting her new neighbor Peter doesn't know what to think of the mysterious boy. But she does find herself attracted to him, of course. I was terribly afraid we'd have a love triangle on our hands and for awhile it looked that way. James does finally make his way to London, which then has Peter acting rashly and telling lies to Angelina about him.

One thing that I hate, but it's not a bad thing for it to happen because its good writing, is when a character believe the lies of the enemy! It drives me nuts!! I long for reality to slap them in the face and for them to back away from said enemy! Lol.

In a sense, this story was really more about James and Peter and their shaky relationship. Will they mend the broken fences or will a catastrophic event separate them forever?

This was a decent read, and a good follow-up to the first book. I still got annoyed at times when we referenced the Disney Movie and called it a fairy tale, but what can you do? I almost wish we could've had the actual book Peter Pan in this story instead of a Disney-ified storybook. I love Disney with all my heart, but come on, the movies are not the original fairy tales, nor would they look alike. It's aggravating. Another bit that still aggravated me was the continued use of more modern slang that I don't feel like James or Peter would really know and yet they use this while on Neverland.

There was a bit of a shock factor to the ending of this one too, and I don't just mean the end result. I guess I saw a purpose for it, but it still felt like it was there more for a shock factor and seemed highly unnecessary.

All in all, Pan's Revenge was an enjoyable read even with its flaws. It was a fun and entertaining read that brought up a nice little twist to the classic fairy tale. If you're open-minded to new fairy tales, that are a little flawed in some sense, then this would make for an entertaining read for sure!

2.5 stars - I liked the first one a lot more. I was not happy with the way this ended. Especially the twist about Angel. It seemed completely unrealistic that she would make a pact to send her firstborn child to Neverland. She didn’t even talk about it with Jamie! Just made that decision because the price had to be paid or whatever.

Jamie and Angel’s romance was probably the best part, even though the whole memory loss plot made the storyline somewhat repetitive.

I’ve never liked the character of Peter, so I didn’t mind that this one was psychopathic and cruel. Jamie totally looked like Killian from OUAT in my mind, as he did in the first one. Hook is much better than Peter anyway.

I enjoyed the majority of the book, but the ending made me decide not to round up. I still liked it for the most part though.

Another quick breezy read, but not a better one. This was actually pretty frustrating to read. I once again found myself annoyed with Peter's characterization. As mentioned in my review of the previous book, I'm all for evil Peter. But this Peter was kind of wishy washy with his evilness. Angel lost her memory, so her relationship with Jamie was almost a carbon copy of the previous book, which was quite annoying when I consider that I read both of these books in the same day. I also don't understand why Peter was the only one to age when the curse was broken. I think the world building was lacking quite a bit and it wasn't that enjoyable.

*Sigh* This book is such a large disappointment. I'm so tiered of crappy sequels to amazing books. I am as unimpressed by the quality so much so that I looked like Stanley from the Office while reading the book.

There is no real flow to the book, it is very unsatisfying, and I could not get into it no matter how hard I tried. All in all, this book is not well written or a good read, but it does wrap up the story of Neverland. Knowing that, I leave reading it up to your digression, but as a book on its own I do NOT recommend it.

Kurzbeschreibung
In diesem zweiten Teil, versucht James Hook zu Angelina nach London zu gelangen und es will einfach nicht gelingen.
Warum er zu ihr will? Er vermisst sie von ganzem Herzen und mit Hilfe der Feen ersinnt er einen Plan.

Aber es kommt anders und durch Hooks Plan verändert sich Peter Pans Leben auf dramatische Weise und es gelingt ihm vor Hook bei Angel zu sein.

Aber bei Angelina sind die Erinnerungen verschwommen und sie erkennt Peter Pan nicht. Der wiederum beschließt Hook als grausamsten und gemeinsten Tyrannen darzustellen um ihm Angels Liebe zu klauen.

Ein erbitterter Kampf der Zwei beginnt um Angel und nur eines kann die Wahrheit erkennen und zwar Angels Herz.

Das Cover ist wie schon das erste sehr gut gelungen und hat mich gleich in seinen Bann gezogen mit der strahlenden Aura der zwei sich liebenden und dem Schiff das wie auf Wolken schwebt. Einfach Klasse gemacht und hervorragend zum Titel von der Autorin gewählt.



Charaktere
Angelina McFarland auch Angel genannt ist eine taffe junge Frau die weiß was sie will und dafür kämpft. Sie liebt ihre Familie über alles und versucht ihre Familie zu unterstützen.

James Hook ist nicht nur ein berüchtigter Pirat sondern auch ein Charmeur und gutaussehender Halunke der sein Herz auf dem rechten Fleck hat.


Peter Pan ist der Junge der niemals älter werden möchte und durch seine Vergangenheit geprägt ist.



Schreibstil
Die Autorin Anna Katmore hat nicht nur eine fantastische Geschichte entwickelt, sondern es geschafft das ich sie nicht mehr aus der Hand legen wollte und sowas von begeistert bin.

Erstens der Schreibstil ist flüssig und bildhaft und man würde am liebsten in die Geschichte springen und zweitens die Idee dahinter wie man die Charaktere in diese Geschichte mit einbringt, hat mich sehr begeistert.

Absolut gelungen und Bitte Mehr!!! <3



Meinung
Wenn Deine Erinnerung tief in Deinem Herzen verborgen liegt...

Dann sind wir bei Angel die wieder zurück ist in London und Nimmmerland und ihre Liebe Hook zurückgelassen hat.

Aber Angels Erinnerungen verblassen sehr schnell und nur ein Gefühl als wenn sie etwas schmerzlich vermissen würde bleiben.

In der Zwischenzeit hat Hook eines gelernt und zwar das er ohne Angel nicht mehr leben kann und will und versucht ihr zu folgen, was aber nach vielen versuchen immer noch nicht klappt.

Gefrustet und auf der Suche nach einer Möglichkeit geht Hook einen Deal ein, der nicht nur Peter Pans Leben und seines von Grund auf verändert.

Peter der in einer Situation ist in der er nie sein wollte, schwört Rache und gelangt als erster nach London um Angel in seine Pläne einzubeziehen.

Die bestehen darin Hook unter allen Umständen schlecht zu machen und Angel die Angst die jeder aus dem Märchen kennt zu schüren.
Und wirklich scheint ihm dieser Pakt zu gelingen, denn als Hook auftaucht erkennt ihn Angel nicht wieder und Hook hat alle Hände damit zu tun, ihr Herz zu gewinnen, die Sache mit Peter in Ordnung zu bringen und die Frist die ihm gegeben wurde zu nutzen.


Ich war wieder mitten im Geschehen und konnte auch den zweiten Teil erst weglegen nachdem ich fertig war. Das spricht für Augenringe die ich bei solch einer tollen Story sehr gern in Kauf nehmen.

Sehr empfehlenswert und für mich Super gelungen wie schon der erste teil!!

Amazing!!! Wonderful conclusion to the story of Angel, Peter and Jamie! I didn't want the story to end!

If you thought you you couldn't love James Hook more, think again. He will steal your heart all over again and then some.

"Why are you really here then?"
"I already told you last night. I'm here because of you."
"What am I to you, that you felt the need to leave Neverland for me?"
"You're everything to me."

Swoon!! I mean, come on! How far would you go to make the love of your life remember you?

I also loved seeing more of Peter Pan. You see more of what's going on in his mind in this book. He's such a troubled soul and you feel compassion for him. He can be a brat at times, but he's still that young boy wanting attention.

This book not only takes you through Jamie's struggle to get Angel back, but you get to see how much he cares for Peter. Maybe villains aren't really villains after all. Maybe they are just misunderstood and never given the chance to show who they can really be.

I think Anna did a beautiful job at bringing this story to a close. These characters stay with you and make you think and believe in fairy tales again.

I loved book one, Neverland, so much that I bought the sequel since I couldn't leave it unfinished. While I did enjoy Pan's Revenge, it just didn't grab me the way the first book did. This one is told from three different points of view: Angel, Hook, and Pan. The constantly changing views made the story rather disjointed at times.

My favorite character is still James Hook... he's as great in this sequel as the first book. His single-mindedness in finding a way back to Angel was not only sweet, it was inspiring. He is on my swoon-worthy book boyfriend list.

Though I wanted to feel sorry for Peter Pan-- he was going through some major changes-- I just couldn't get past his overall selfishness. His behavior reminded me of a petulant child. Angel is caught in the middle, having forgotten her time in Neverland. I liked the way Angel was written in this novel. She's curious, intelligent, and stubborn.

I think we all get ideas in our heads about how we would like a story to progress. The plot in this wasn't what I was expecting, but it was intriguing nonetheless. I can't say I loved the ending, but I think it was a good ending. I can't help but wonder about the fate of those in Neverland... are they happy with this ending?

I loved Neverland (book one). I was whisked away to a magical land, fell in love with Captain James Hook of all people and cried when Angel left to go home. I thought I knew what to expect from the sequel and couldn’t wait to get my hands on it.

Pan’s revenge surprised me. I won’t go into long plot descriptions, because I don’t want to stop it surprising you, but it went in a direction I hadn’t predicted leaving me wondering how it could end.

There were plenty of tense moments. I despaired of Angel a fair few times and got irritated with Peter. I felt as though I was right in there with them, and when I got to the ending I loved it. It was perfect and I was even more in love with Captain James Hook than I had been at the end of book one.

This is a wonderful, magical book that will make you smile, fly and believe in fairies and mermaids. If you like romance, fairy tales and fantasy, give yourself a treat.

Okay, so I really enjoyed Neverland. It was one of my favorite retellings, to date. And due to the fact that I couldn't wait to see more of Angel and James together, I figured this one would be even better. But, I was really not as impressed.

The story was good. It gave me the ending I had hoped for, plus some! But, I just wasn't as excited about the journey to get there.

I do recommend you read this, if you've read Neverland. You'll want to know what becomes of Peter, James, and Angel. Not to mention have some questions answered from the previous book.

This was a fun follow up to Neverland. While at first I thought she was going to be creating a love triangle with the story, I was VERY happy that it never really took off. I mean, how do you compete with Jamie?
All in all this was a fun, enjoyable read (but as with Neverland, I could have done without the language--totally unnecessary)...so happy for a happily ever after all around! And an epilogue!! Yay!

Das Cover finde ich für ein Jugendbuch ziemlich passend gestaltet. Wir sehen hier die beiden Protagonisten James Hook und Angel aneinander gekuschelt und nachdenklich dreinblickend, während sie auf ein Schiff in den Wolken blicken und etwas weiter unten sieht man Peter Pan nachdenklich auf dem Titelschriftzug des Buches sitzen. Das passt alles ganz gut und macht natürlich Freunde des ersten Bandes neugierig was hier wohl alles geschehen wird nachdem der erste Band so dramatisch geendet hat.

Eigener Eindruck:
Es ist einige Zeit vergangen seit Angel wieder aus Nimmerland zurückgekehrt ist und scheinbar ihr Abenteuer fast gänzlich vergessen hat. Nicht so James Hook, welcher in Nimmerland alles daran setzt seine große Liebe wieder zu sehen und mit allen Mitteln versucht in die Welt von Angel einzutreten. Dass er dabei mit seinem Leben und das seiner Besatzung spielt scheint ihm schon fast egal. Als sich ein Weg für ihn öffnet in die Welt der Menschen zu gelangen bricht er mit seiner Crew auf, um seine Liebe zu finden. Doch all zu viel Zeit bleibt ihm nicht. Was er aber bis dahin nicht ahnt ist, dass auch Peter nach London gekommen ist, dies aber nicht mit guten Absichten. Denn das Opfer, das Hook gebracht hat, um in die Menschenwelt zu gelangen ändert das Leben in Nimmerland immer mehr und plötzlich wird aus dem Jungen, der ewig ein Kind sein wollte ein rachsüchtiger Mann, der sich seiner Träume beraubt fühlt. Und wie könnte man besser Rache an einem liebeskranken Piraten nehmen als ihm das zu nehmen, was ihm am wichtigsten ist?

Der zweite Teil rund um Angel und Hook stammt wieder aus der Feder der Autorin Anna Katmore, welche für ihre Jugendromane bekannt ist. Auch hier wird man wieder nicht enttäuscht und bekommt sehr schnell richtig viel Herzschmerz präsentiert, den man wortwörtlich richtig wegsaugt. Es war sehr einfach wieder in die Abenteuer von Hook und Angel einzutauchen und mit der Adaption rund um die Figur Peter Pan hat sich Anna Katmore wieder richtig was einfallen lassen. Es wird dramatisch, es wird emotional und es gibt immer wieder Wendungen die man so nicht kommen sieht. Das Ganze wird dann natürlich durch viele bekannte Charaktere getoppt, welche hier ebenfalls tragende Rollen bekommen und natürlich darf auch das Happy End nicht fehlen! Das Buch bringt einfach alles mit, was man sich wünscht, wenn man einfach mal den Kopf abschalten will. Ich habe es regelrecht gefressen und ich bin einfach nur hin und weg was hier abgeliefert wurde. Von dieser Sorte darf es gern noch mehr geben liebe Autorin!

Fazit:
Wieder ein ganz zauberhaftes Buch rund um eine zarte Liebe und eine wunderbare Märchenandaption aus dem Hause „Was wäre wenn…“. Mir hat es absolut gefallen und ich kann es jedem weiterempfehlen, der gern träumt und romantische Lektüre mag.

Am 11.01.2021 hab ich endlich den 2. Teil zu Ende gelesen, von "Herzklopfen in Nimmerland".
Eine wirklich gelungene Fortsetzung!🥰
Zu meiner freudigen Überraschung, war dieses Buch mit seinen 418 Seiten, etwas dicker als sein Vorgänger. 📘 Auch dieses Buch, hat fürs Ende und jedes einzelne Kapitel eine Playlist mit Songs, um das Buch nochmal schön ausklingen zu lassen.🎵🎶❤

Sehr empfehlenswert, wer den ersten Teil schon geliebt hat.😊👍

Angelina oder auch Angel genannt, hat all ihre gesamten Erinnerungen an ihre vorherigen Abenteuer aus dem ersten Teil vergessen, sowie alle ihre Freunde und ihre große Liebe, Hook. Die neugeborene Bruderschaft zwischen Hook und Peter, zerbricht, da Hook unbedingt nach London zurück zu Angel will und dabei Peters schlimmsten Albtraum wahr werden lassen muss. Nämlich erwachsen zu werden! Er allerdings altert viel zu schnell und sieht dem Tod gefährlich nah ins Auge! Er schwört Rache an Hook zu nehmen und nutzt Angels Erinnerungsverlust dazu aus.
Wird Angel ihre Erinnerungen wieder erhalten?

Das Buch ist dieses mal aus 3 Perspektiven geschrieben: Hooks, Peters und Angelinas Sicht.
Anders als beim Vorgänger, wo nur aus Hooks und Angels Sicht erzählt wurde.
Es fängt ebenfalls nicht direkt beim Cliffhanger des ersten Teiles weiter an zu erzählen, sondern erzählt erst was in den 3 Monaten in Nimmerland passiert war, nachdem Angel die Insel verlassen hatte.

Es greift alte Fragen auf und beantwortet diese nun endlich, auch wenn es für mich gegen Ende etwas verwirrend zuerst war und ich die Sätze öfters lesen musste, um alles verstehen zu können...😅
Ein Minus Punkt muss ich allerdings geben, da es wie der Vorgänger ein offenes Ende hatte. Da dies aber das letzte Buch der Reihe ist, werden neu aufgeworfene Fragen nun endgültig unbeantwortet bleiben, sehr zu meinem Bedauern, da ich ja so neugierig bin.😅😊

Hiermit endet diese Buchreihe leider auch schon, daher kann ich mich mit mit Vorfreude, an andere Projekte wenden!😁📚

Angelina ist in ihre Welt zurückgekehrt und verliert jegliche Erinnerung an die Zeit in Nimmerland. Nur die Herzkette, die James Hook ihr geschenkt hat, bleibt ihr, doch die Liebe scheint vergessen. Währenddessen setzt der junge Kapitän Jamie alles daran, um zu seiner großen Liebe zu gelangen. Dafür ist ihm kein Preis zu hoch, doch die Konsequenzen sind weitreichender als er erwartet hat.

Fazit:
„Die Rache des Pan“ ist der zweite Band der „Eine zauberhafte Reise“-Dilogie von Anna Katmore.
Nachdem mich der erste Band „Herzklopfen im Nimmerland“ bereits sehr begeistern konnte, habe ich den zweiten Band ebenfalls verschlungen. Dieser steht seinem Vorgänger in nichts nach – ganz im Gegenteil. Dadurch, dass die Perspektiven zwischen Angelina, Jamie und Peter hin und her springen, bekommt man einen noch besseren Einblick in das Gefühlsleben der Protagonisten und schließt sie noch viel mehr ins Herz.
Ich bin zwar immer noch kein Freund von Peter Pan und habe mich in seinen Kapiteln umso mehr nach Jamie gesehnt, konnte mich aber trotzdem gut in seine Lage versetzen und habe sogar ein klein wenig mit ihm mit gelitten.
Im Gegensatz zum ersten Band beinhaltet „Die Rache des Pan“ wesentlich mehr actionreiche Szenen. Die Lage zwischen den beiden Brüdern spitzt sich immer mehr zu und mir hat der schmale Grat zwischen Liebe und Hass unheimlich gut gefallen.
Die „Eine zauberhafte Reise“-Dilogie von Anna Katmore ist in meinen Augen eine sehr unterhaltsame, gefühlvolle Reihe, die vor allem dadurch heraussticht, dass die Mischung aus Gefühl, Spannung und Humor sehr ausgewogen ist und es zu keiner Zeit langweilig wird. „Die Rache des Pan“ stellt zudem einen sehr runden Abschluss dar, der noch so manche Überraschung in sich birgt und keine Fragen offen lässt.
Ich kann die Reihe von ganzem Herzen empfehlen und wünsche ganz viel Spaß bei einem magischen Ausflug in das liebevoll gestaltete Nimmerland! ♥

Ein unglaublich toller, starker 2. Band

„Begleitet James Hook auf sein bisher größtes Abenteuer und lasst euch verzaubern von der wunderschönen Fortsetzung zu Herzklopfen in Nimmerland.“

„Die Rache des Pan“ ist der 2. Teil der „Eine zauberhafte Reise“ Reihe. „Herzklopfen in Nimmerland“ ist Teil 1.

Hat uns Band 1 mit einem echt fiesen Cliffhanger zurückgelassen, beginnt „Die Rache des Pan“ zum Ende des vorletzten Kapitels von Band 1. Und diese Geschichte hat es wirklich in sich. Der Leser begibt sich wirklich auf ein noch größeres Abenteuer, mit mehr Gefahr, mehr Herzklopfen, mehr Zauberei und kniffeligen Rätseln aber vor allem mit mehr Feenstaub.

Auch im 2. Teil trifft Autorin Anna Katmore exakt den kleinen Nerv zwischen Märchen und Liebesgeschichte und ich kann nicht oft genug sagen, wie sehr ich das liebe.

Dieses Mal ist die Geschichte aus der Sicht von Angel(ina), Jamie und auch Peter Pan geschrieben. Der zweite Teil der „Eine zauberhafte Reise“ Reihe steht dem ersten Teil in nichts nach und hat mit gut 50 Seiten mehr auch eine actionreichere Story. Natürlich hat die Autorin wieder eine bezaubernde Playlist zusammengestellt, die ich immer noch super gerne höre, wenn ich mal kurz nach Nimmerland möchte.

Selbstverständlich darf ein Happyend in so einem Buch nicht fehlen, aber wie das aussieht, müsst ihr schon selber lesen.


Fazit: Beide Bücher rund um Peter Pan und Jamie Hook sind zu einer meiner absoluten Herzensbüchern geworden. Jeder, der im Herzen immer noch nicht erwachsen geworden ist, an die große Liebe und Feenstaub glaubt, sollte diese Reihe unbedingt lesen.

Als kleine Schmankerl hat die Autorin unter dem Namen „Hooked – Jamies Tale“ in einer Kurzgeschichte noch einmal die erste Begegnung zwischen Angel und Hook aus seiner Sicht geschrieben. Die Geschichte ist nur als E-Book erhältlich und kann jeder Zeit gelesen werden. Sie eignet sich auch als größere Leseprobe, wenn man die Bücher noch überhaupt nicht kennt.

J'avais littéralement dévoré le premier tome, j'ai attendu longtemps avant de découvrir la suite des aventures d'Angel, de Peter Pan et du ténébreux capitaine Hook. Je suis totalement fan de cette suite à la hauteur du premier tome malgré quelques longueurs au début du livre. C'est un coup de cœur pour un tome encore plus profond. L'autrice a su apporter sa version de Peter Pan.
Anna Katmore a une magnifique plume qui ne cesse de gagner en intensité avec ce second tome. C'est prenant, intense et profondément humain. J'apprécie beaucoup la complexité qui s'en ressent et le fait qu'on soit davantage dans la profondeur des sentiments, dans la psychologie des héros. Enfin, la réécriture reste réussie par tout le travail de fond entre les références, les liens, la modernité...
Nous avons une intrigue prenante, intéressante car on est davantage dans la psychologie des personnages. Quelle magnifique fin ! J'aime la richesse des thèmes et l'accent sur la relation "compliquée" entre Peter Pan et James Hook. La romance reste bien présente malgré le fait que l'autrice s'intéresse bien plus à la relation fraternelle.
Nous avons une intrigue prenante, intéressante car on est davantage dans la psychologie des personnages. Quelle magnifique fin ! J'aime la richesse des thèmes et l'accent sur la relation "compliquée" entre Peter Pan et James Hook. La romance reste bien présente malgré le fait que l'autrice s'intéresse bien plus à la relation fraternelle.
